1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes just flex it ( luck is all you need) on: September 27, 2023, 10:21:22 PM
Hello mates,

Gambling is an habit that is taken very seriously by some gambler here in my country and not only mine if I can sure because the wanting nature to actually win is what keeps them driving and continue with the act despite having major losses, for some gambler stories of people winning is what keeps them afloat and makes them feel they too can do.

The sad truth about this whole gambling stuff for me well I don't know for other but with the little experience I have gotten is that no one can be too certain and can be too safe or cautious when it comes to gambling and this is proven here in a betslip I won recently that just got me thinking of how i never even intended to forecast the odds or whatsoever, I just actually just FLEXED IT and the game came through for me which was fun because I played it for fun.

So sometimes don't think just flex it and let luck do it part friends.

Wow nice winning. I can see how good you are in your predictions, maybe I should follow up with you for odds to bet. Yeah winning is what makes a gambler to continue gambling, even if you lose 7 and win 2,  that 2 you won will be like a motivation for you to continue because there is always hope for bigger and better wins.  Gambling shouldn't be an habit that should be taken very seriously like you said, it could be addictive if it's too habitual, and that's not healthy for a gambler, gambling should be done for fun and leisure times because it's a game of luck.
1182  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help a newbie! on: September 27, 2023, 07:09:51 PM
I'm new to the forum and so far I'm beginning to understand the structure of the forum but my challenge is that I don't really have enough knowledge on crypto prior to now.

I have done a bit of research on YouTube but the information their is a bit confusing as it's more theoretical and I doubt the once I have seen is updated lately.

I really want to learn the basics in cryptocurrency and would need guidance from expert from this forum.

What I need particular is a verified YouTube channel I can get an updated crash course crypto, books, website and any material or post on this forum that can give me proper guidance as a newbie.

If you want to get knowledge about cryptocurrency especially here in the forum, then you need to start asking specific questions about what you intend to know. The forum is like an open Market where you can get any crypto information you want. However you need to take out time to read some of the link been shared  by some of the members little by little and  your knowledge and  understanding about crypto Will be broadened.
No doubt YouTube can give you some videos about cryptocurrency but here on the forum you will meet people with real life experience about crypto and they can advise you on what not to do. Try to also make you follow the forum rules by ensuring that you read them and memories it within yourself.
1183  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: September 27, 2023, 05:12:05 PM
Population growth may be bad for nature and circumstances, but good for business. I mean in general population growth means more households, more customers for all their needs from small to large and to own a house or apartment and other needs and also an increase in population means an increase in the demand for goods and services.
However, if uncontrolled population growth will lead to poverty and unemployment, excessive exploitation of natural resources, overcrowded cities, pollution and so on.
but it all depends on the government because it's not an easy job for them but they have to be able to handle it from top to bottom.

I kind of agree with your line of thought, a high population if properly harnessed Will automatically lead to high productivity and efficiency.
Take a very good look at China, they are over a billion people, but they've been able to manage their economy properly, reducing crime and poverty, they one of the richest countries in the world with a high productive workforce.
There is hardly a country you will go today without seeing a Chinese company operating there. So population growth at some point is advantageous

On the other hand, population growth can be dangerous if not properly handled, like you rightly put it can lead to serious unemployment and poverty. Nations like that have a high percentage of crime rates and unproductive.
1184  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: September 27, 2023, 04:23:53 PM
I really want know if getting more degrees can make life financially better because I come from a country where their are no job and I have seen people that the only thing they can do in life is to read books, getting more degrees attaining all these degrees yet no still go job for them with good pay. Do think people who read in a region with slim job opportunities are doing the right thing?

Most people who go for more degrees believe they can get better job at the end of the day. People that only go for more degrees in a stare with high unemployment rate are they doing right thing by putting all their focus on academic because this is the only thing they can do best.

Getting a higher degree enables you to get a high paying job. Education they say is the bedrock of any society, so having a good higher degree no doubt give you a leverage to a good paying job.
But it doesn't just end there, so what if those jobs doesn't come as expected, what role will your education now play.
Education enablers you to think outside the box, it allows you to be creative and be idealistic.
So hence your educated and those jobs are not forthcoming, you can improvise and sort for capitals and start a business of your own and be an entrepreneur using your educationan skills on your own business.

1186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some information on Bitcoin on: September 27, 2023, 12:10:42 PM
Bitcoin information from around the world

Among the many countries that support Bitcoin are: the United States, Canada, Australia, and many European countries.Finland, Iceland, Spain, United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, Japan, Denmark And some of the countries that don't support Bitcoin are: Bangladesh, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco. At the age of 2023, this number of people who have not yet supported Bitcoin has been given to Bitcoin.

Every country in the world should support Bitcoin because it is the best currency in the world. To those countries who have not supported Bitcoin, I would like to say to them, if you support Bitcoin soon, your country's economy will go a long way.

Bitcoin is not the only thing you need to support your economy in a country, of course bitcoin is necessary because it allows for decentralised monetary transactions, but you don't only need that to grow your economy other factors needs to come into play, ranging from manufacturing and exporting of goods to the international market.

For some of the countries you mentioned that didn't support bitcoin, at least I know of some you can still do P2P transaction to get your money, it Then means bitcoin transaction have been going on with those countries.
I just believe with time the general acceptability of bitcoin will come into fruition and some of this countries will relax their restrictions.

If u get little change, make ur pikin sabi other sides too, even if dem no abode there e go be easy alternative if dem dey go and come, or "Japa."

Peace!

The thing is that, this particular situation you've outlined above about Nigeria, is not peculiar to Nigeria alone, it's more like an African thing, in the whole of the continent around the world, the African continent is most backward in terms of almost all humans endeavour.

Sometimes I sit down to ask myself, if the African continent was cast a negative spell. Because this thing is no longer funny.
But you take a deep look into the African continent, and you peep at some countries in Africa, like Egypt, Morocco Tunisia and south African, they are relatively doing well. How come we cannot take a lift from these countries that within us that are relatively doing well.

Because of the high handedness of those leaders in power, that why you see military coup d'etat happening almost every month in the continent, because the military guys cannot just stay and watch their country go into the wrong hands.
We just pray for the will of the Lord to happen in Nigeria.

1188  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why most people for naija believe say Bitcoin na scam? on: September 27, 2023, 08:21:35 AM
My country people una Weldon oo I don notice say many Nigerians no wan use ear hear Bitcoin matter especially those way no get people around them way de into Bitcoin.I don de reason the matter since say y many of them dey fear to invest for Bitcoin?
I con realize say during those first period way mobile technology tay cast for naija, some of the people way understand all this Bitcoin matter use am tay scam many people so over time people con de conclude say Bitcoin na scam .
Another thing way still de contribute na wrong idea. Many of them believe say Bitcoin de bring wealth over night.so Dem no de bother to read about am before Dem invest or hodl.the reason why Dem get dis belief na because I dn see many cases of all dis yahoo boys Dem (cyber fraudster)de use Bitcoin name de cover d scam way Dem de into some even de use am as scam scheme say  like make u give Dem 5k say Dem way invest am for Bitcoin say the next mins Dem go credit you 10k based on people way no understand Bitcoin those victim go send d money and the scammers Dem go disappear later na d victim go con de feel say Bitcoin na yeye tin. To de teach people about Bitcoin no easy at all that is why I de respect people way fit de do am for we naija.
I no say people no de too de fall for those kind scam again but that wrong idea about Bitcoin sti de their head say na scam.

The major thing be say, the first guys dem way  been dey into bitcoin, them use am run people scam, the thing come give bad reputation to bitcoin. Then our government too no come help matters, as them announce say make financial institutions no allowed bitcoin transactions again. So the thing come give bad signal to the people say bitcoin na bad thing.

So e go take person way understand bitcoin to start to explain to people say bitcoin no be bad thing as government paint am, I remember say I been dey discuss about bitcoin with my friend some certain time, person way dey near me dey listen come dey ask me, if I don join yahoo.
So you see the kind orientation way dem get about bitcoin, no be only for Nigeria way restrictions on bitcoin dey, some countries self too don put restrictions, but bitcoin don stand the test of time and e go continue to prove this government leaders wrong, because bitcoin get value and reputation true true and no be scam.
1189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mistake that prevented your big win. on: September 26, 2023, 09:17:12 PM
As a gambler,I know that we have done so many mistakes in the pass base on our bets and wrong strategy or calculations that we have done which led to losing the game that was suppose to make you win big. I want to use myself as an example,I love sportbet and I bet more on it. Last months I placed my bet on 7 games that was to be played for two days. When the 5th game was played, all matches came out as predicted and I was called by the casino,to offer me a cash out of $200 in my local currency and I refused it because if the other two games was played and the I got the predictions right. I will win $1200,so I turned the offer down. The painful part of it was that the two games were to kick off on the same time, and after the games,my prediction for the two games was wrong. I felt so bad because I allowed gred to control my emotion. For this reason,I having decided that when ever I have an opportunity to cash out again,I will always go for it,instead of thinking that I can win all the money.
So my question is this,as a gambler what mistake have you made when gambling that prevented you from winning big.
Let's discuss.

The average gambler always have greed as the driving force,  If not why would somebody permutate over 20 game's in a single bet slip and stake $100 to win $2500, that's likely impossible but gambler do it.
Whenever I want to play, I don't do too much of big win, I go for smaller odds with a great likelihood of winning before I place my bet. Most times I do succeed. Although most people will say the higher the risk the higher the reward.  For me, you would have collected that cash out that was shown to you, half bread they say is better than none. Whenever You've seen some  level of profit from your game, don't hesitate to take it.

1191  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Home or regular schooling? where you prefer for ur pikin if money nor be problom on: September 26, 2023, 06:06:39 PM
Considering the poor state of our educational system, how there are more schools with unqualified teachers than schools with qualified teachers, plus the
archaic nature of the curriculum wey most schools dey use for this our country, how you see am? e go better make you do home schooling, that is like gather better teachers dey pay them yourself make dem dey come teach your pikin den you dey closely dey monitor dem den dey add some kind small small modern knowledge of things dem suppose know, or you still prefer make dem go the schoool the way school dey for the country.

I dey ask because, e get school wey dey near my side, I been dey hyear when the teachers for the school dey teach the children about things wey dem fit find for classroom, the thing vex me because why you go dey teach children that kind thing, something wey nor dey important like that and people parents dey pay school fees.

Since we already know say, some of this teacher no too qualify to teach, because before you become certified teacher, you don suppose get some certifications, either the course way you read for university has education background or you've gone to do PGD on education courses, before them go recognise you as a teacher. In those days before you stand to say you are a teacher, you must at least have attended "National Teachers' Institute" NTI , but today the whole story has changed, people way no even get O, level dey stand for board dey teach children.
So for me, my child will attend the normal formal education by going to school everyday, and I will still create out time to do some school at home with them just to equip them more, because I cannot leave the education of my children into someone who I don't even know if he has attended class before.
1192  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Supreme court of Nigeria on fire - nothing we no go see for Naija on: September 26, 2023, 05:40:34 PM
I am not surprised seeing the news of a section of the supreme court of Nigeria being destroyed by fire. As a Nigeria that understand the mafia system controling our supposed democracy, I long expected the Election Petition Tribunal archives to be burnt since. As that didn't happen, it is obvious they waited for the materials to be move to the supreme court before they do what they know how to do best. I don't need a prophet to tell me what was burnt at the Supreme Court... we all know what it will be.

This in what they really meant by "go to court" . Burning evidence in court is nothing new. In 2020, the oldest court in Lagos was burnt down. This court was said to have exhibit of cases involving high profile individuals including those that discovered and build Lagos.

Is this really how democracy work? Is this how we will make Nigeria great and prosperous? I weep for my country!

My brother nothing person wan tell me, that fire na arrangee. Na them them put that fire on. Na person way no know the length at which the average Nigerian politician wan go just to do evil go argue this matter.

Omo for we to make this country great and prosperous nation, na big task we all of us gats come together to do am. But on how say, we leave Nigeria for this economic vultures hands, na so so super story we go continue to dey hear everyday. Imagine where the  apex body of law is under fire, it means the entire countries justice system is under fire na.
Before you go now, them don release statement say, the vital documents that where given as evidence for the last election has been burnt down by unfortunate fire Incident that broke out, we sincerely apologize for this setback as all hand's are on deck to resolve this situation.
1193  Economy / Economics / Re: Surge in Bankruptcy Filings And Economic Crisis Vs Recession Vs BTC Price on: September 26, 2023, 04:26:48 PM

https://twitter.com/WhaleWire/status/1705776976089256341?t=PtzaGiRaDcbdjzwFDYF3Bg&s=19

There is data from WhaleWire regarding the surge in corporate bankruptcy filings which reached the same level as past economic crises such as the Great Recession in 2008 and the pandemic in 2020. This certainly raises concerns for the world economy.

And periods like this historically occur before significant stock market crashes. Will this affect the price of BTC too. If the entire market falls, does it rule out the possibility that there will be a sell off too? and of course BTC will also be affected?

Share your opinion

I don't think there will be a stock market crash anymore at the moment, generally speaking the effect of economic crisis, recession and inflation is already here as we speak, nations struggling economically to manage the situation, so i believe we are at the breaking point of coming out of this ugly situation globally.

So the entire market will not fall, at the heat of COVID-19 the entire market didn't fall, how much more now that nations and global economy is trying to stabilise.
Bitcoin has stood the test of time, all this inductions will not stop the value and rise of bitcoin in market.
1194  Economy / Economics / Re: It ain't meant to be easy on: September 26, 2023, 02:57:15 PM
We all wish life was easier, but it's not so we've got to make do with what we have.

The degree you want, the career you want, and the business you dream to have won't come easy. I'm of the notion that life doesn't want you to succeed. If you run away from every obstacle then you will never achieve your goal.

I keep seeing forum members make complaints about not getting merits and all. It will be very hypocritical of me to say we shouldn't care about merit and ranking up, but your desire to rank up should lead you in the right direction.
The goal is to learn and grow, then make meaningful contributions that can grow other forum members. It's not going to be easy, and it will take time, but it will be worth it in the end.

This doesn't only apply to the forum but to every aspect of life.
Take a business for example.
The goal of a business is to make a profit but you can't make a profit if certain things are not done right. If you just pursue profit without thinking about other factors, your business will fail.
If your product/service is top-notch, your marketing, packaging, and distribution are done right along with other factors, you will make a profit.
The same thing applies to every aspect of life. A degree, career, or anything at all.

If your first encounter with crypto was a scam altcoin, it doesn't mean you should wash your hand off of crypto. If you're still interested in it, learn from that bad situation and gain more experience from it.

If you previously made an investment in Bitcoin and you lost, it doesn't mean you should give up on Bitcoin; learn from it and re-evaluate your decision.

So don't think Bitcoin and Bitcointalk are any different from life.
You may look at a forum member with legendary rank and you want to achieve that, it's good that that motivates you, but you have to know that they didn't just achieve that overnight. They learned, grew, improved themselves, and improved others to get to that level.
Whatever you want, work hard and smart for it because it won't be handed to you on a platter.

This is more like a life coaching pep talk. Sincerely I agree with the OP, for every level you wish to attain in this life, you have to work hard for it. Life they say is not bed of roses 🌹, it comes with a little sacrifice, the sacrifice is more of a refining stage. Because most times, when you get some things too cheap, you won't really appreciate or give too much regards to the thing you've succeeded on.  Growth doesn't just happen suddenly, it takes time, because the reason they say we have time, is because everything shouldn't happen in one moment.
Even here in the forum, you will see a hierarchy of growth stages, and that growth requires you to make some sacrifice before attaining it.
1195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: interest in the cryptocurrency on: September 26, 2023, 02:01:08 PM
The regulatory landscape, market trends, new blockchain initiatives, significant price changes of well-known cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as adoption by traditional financial institutions or businesses, are some of the common subjects of interest in the cryptocurrency industry.
Also Remember:
When making investing decisions in the unstable cryptocurrency market, keep in mind to check the veracity of your information sources and to proceed with caution.

If you're an interested investor of cryptocurrency, you don't really have to go through all this things mentioned.
What you need to do is to study about the crypto market, educate yourself on things you don't know about crypto before now, because if you say you want to make decisions when the market is stable, you may likely wait till eternity, because the market forces are always not static.
So do some education on your self and take the bold step of investing in cryptocurrency.
1196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future of Bitcoin? on: September 26, 2023, 11:44:54 AM
All the countries are going through a hard time by the fall of covid-19. Also, a big token like bitcoin is tumbling in the market at a low position. It started to rise a little from the bottom for several days. It also stopped again. What do the researchers think in such a situation? Let's hope for the opinion. .

The world economy was seriously affected by COVID-19, though some nation's are gradually coming out of that economic reality.
The rise  of bitcoin will be slow and steady as time goes, because the economic downturn globally  has partially affected the bitcoin growth rate, that's because the multipler effect of some of these economic crisis has a way of reducing the price growth, because economic activities has reduced drastically.
However we are very hopeful, due some analysis and the prediction of a bull run that is likely to happen, that the future is bright.
So the tumbling of the bitcoin token is just temporary, just give it some little time and you will see how well it will bounce back.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: September 25, 2023, 10:55:16 PM
I wish I could have posted this in a more better place but since the thoughts came from gambling addiction, I thought it wise to ask this question over here and I hope we can discuss and get this straight.

Just as the tittle already ask, I really want to know if people who are successful in gambling also seen as addicts because I believe  for one to be successful in gambling or whatever they choose to do, there must be some good amount  of time and effort invested in it as well as money and we know that a successful  gambler must have invested  both time, effort and even money to make any reasonable  winning  and these also are features of an addict as there are always excessive time spent on a betting site.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

Gambling is a risky game, for anybody to be successful in gambling, it means that person has taken gambling as a career. Though at some point, he may look like an addict but then his a successful addict, which in turn means, his a successful career person. So  for him to be that successful, It then means health-wise, he is okay, psychological he is fine.

But situations like this hardly happen, it's almost impossible to see somebody winning week in week out in gambling, it can only happen for a certain period of time but not for too long, like big win's happens once in a while.  What if I'm a one hit wonder person, like I'm not a regular gambler but once upon a time I made some good money after playing a certain game, so does that make me an addict even though I've made good money at a certain time, just like it is a one time thing, the answer is no.
So You can be successful in gambling but not addict.

1199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should newbies invest with small capital in BTC on: September 25, 2023, 10:00:21 PM

Feels good actually to invest and have a saying to have an investment in crypto and not just an ordinary crypto an Apex one to be precise which is way more cooler.

However, there comes a factor to be considered CAPITAL. Capital stands as a major factor to be considered while investing  however coming to the world of crypto and BTC precisely,  I think small capital won't do this considering the current monetary value for BTC.
Remember  the greater the capital the higher the profit and the higher the risk however considering BTC the risk minimal.

So How Much To Invest??

As I've said earlier, investing  little in BTC now won't give you a tangible profit when the profit comes but its advisable to invest 20- 40% of your capital in my opinion .However as a eginner or newbies, you literally know nothing about investing even if you have an idea you are still new to it so it is advisable to start with little amount to understand how the game is being played before considering any percentage  to add in your investment and this should be strictly  done according to your capital.

This is what I think but I know members with investment knowledge and others with more and deep knowledge could have a best saying but according to me this whati have to offer to newbies  though I'm also a beginner Smiley.

OP, as a newbie that is desired to invest in Bitcoin, what I would  want to advise is for you to take out time to study about bitcoin, do your due diligence before making your investment. Because it is when you've known how the market works, that's when you can know the exact amount for you to invest, wether it is small or large amount of money.
When you're well educated about bitcoin, then whatever decision your making will be referred to as an informed decision. Because as a beginner, you need to do more research and ask more questions from the field marshal's just the way your doing now before taking the bold step of investment. When you do this, it will be easier for you navigate the crypto market and know how to manage your investment properly.
1200  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Question that needs an answer on: September 25, 2023, 09:30:00 PM
Abeg, I won ask one question here, because the rule for this forum plenty and them say, if person no ask question you go waka loss.

If person compose something interesting come post am for their Facebook page and later the person come feel like that topic makes sense to post for this forum as well. Can the person post such and will it be tagged plagiarism?

Note: The post was composed by the person in this forum

My own be say, I for say make the person no post am for forum again oh, even if you the be original poster, I feel say you for still give reference to that facebook post because, in a long run, one forum member fit see that your post for FB, then come for forum come talk say, you plagiarize am from FB not knowing say na you be the FB account owner or the original poster of that topic, then that time now you go begin speak all the grammar way u Sabi just to prove say true true, na you be original poster.
