1181  Economy / Speculation / Re: We all gonna be filthy rich and here is why: on: December 25, 2016, 04:38:48 PM
Its not ideal to hold btc still when there are tons of tokens that will soon have better value than the rest.  I think those investors who bought btc with fiat intends to buy tokens such as ICN.

The thing is, you never know with alts. Sure the ICN (I guess you mean the Iconomy graph?) looks healthy, but we don't know what the fuck is going on with ETH right now, and let's not forget that ICN is far as I know a token that depends on ETH's health, and ETH has been bleeding for months... so how can you trust your investment? If ICN was a sidechain of Bitcoin I would have already bought some, but since it depends on ETH, I cant trust it.
1182  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin resuming rise on the effect of Boxing Day? on: December 25, 2016, 04:33:13 PM
This rocket could take off at any time. What we are seeing is the classic xmas gift. We see that a lot of bitcoin users are young males that are into computers, and in steam we see tons of good offers right now, im myself tempted to spend some btc in some games because its so convenient to press click and get your games, but I will resist the damn temptations, the rocket will continue next year if not in the next hours.
1183  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me a secret: any way to earn 0.1 BTC per week? on: December 25, 2016, 04:18:27 PM
It depends, maybe now is doable, but at this rate in a couple of years we will be sitting at 10,000$ per bitcoin, this would mean we are looking at 1000$ per week with that 0.1 BTC.. very hard.

As you see, it depends on how high bitcoin will be when you read this thread.
1184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Inevitability of Million Dollar Bitcoin on: December 25, 2016, 04:12:21 PM
$1m for one BTC means one Satoshi to be equal to $0.01. It would be insane, but we still need time for that amount. I will keep one Bitcoin saved and will probably spend the rest of it. Sounds impossible, but it's probably as impossible at it seemed in 2009 for one BTC to ever reach $1200! And it happened, so I don't think it's really that hard to happen unless something bad happens to Bitcoin.

You should keep more than one as perpetual, never-selling cold storage long term holdings. Usually the magic number is 21 bitcoins because only 21 million bitcoins will exist which means 1 million people can ever hold 21 bitcoin, in practice less since a lot of bitcoins have been lost/will get lost.

Eventually 1 btc will make you rich but you dont want to wait that long, 21 is guaranteed richies in 10 years.
1185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So you thought Bitcoin is dead, huh? NEVER! on: December 25, 2016, 04:07:59 PM
The media is so stupid, you can tell they only pay attention to bitcoin when it's soaring, instead of realizing how undervalued it is when it's going down and report the low price as a great buying opportunity, but this is why people never get rich, they only look at assets when they are flying high instead of picking them up on the floor.
1186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need an incentive to make first world population use Bitcoin on: December 25, 2016, 03:58:11 PM
Looking back at my post, I think it's clear that we are not going to see a mainstream adoption of the first world until the governments get rid of cash because until then the average person is not going to miss its use. The average person uses cash constantly, so once you take cash away from them we will see what's obvious: they will look for an alternative and here is when bitcoin gill get massively adopted as the substitute for the underground economy.
1187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Jingle bells on: December 24, 2016, 05:08:57 PM
Jingle bells, LEOcoin fails, ZCash runs away. Ethereum lose, Swiscoin's shit, Bitcoin (& Litecoin) all the way.

Feeling proud for LTC, 25% and it's a lot to this day. Bitcoin gain a negative curve and LTC will gain the other power soon.  Grin

Both LTC and BTC had a correction already, it seems BTC is going to start going up again towards 900+ and who knows what the hell LTC will do. I think that people is going to continue selling their alts for BTC when BTC goes up. Im all in on BTC but I hope LTC makes a good pump too but im not gonna risk a single satoshi on no alt.

The largest gains will be in certain alts. It's picking those alts that is the problem. BTC ATH will be more welcome to alts than ever. I think btc 5k would be nice by end of 2017. Even if that happened I thinks some alts will outperform this.

LTC I suspect will return greater gains from here than even BTC.

Let's wait and see.

Sure there are always some alts that pump, but like you said, it's a lottery. How the hell are you supposed to guess what alt will pump? It seems that every horse has been already beaten. We got the anonymous coins phase, then the smart contracs phase.. now what's next? For a coin to pump hard it must offer something new.

1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-12-22] With Segwit, Litecoin Faces a (Soft) Fork in the Road on: December 24, 2016, 04:13:41 PM
Market has shown what segwit can do for us beside the technical improvements: pump the price to the moon. Litecoin is going up because f the planned roadmap to add segwit. If only we could add segwit in Bitcoin as soon as possible we would be marching towards 2k+ right now but we have a lot of idiots on board that need to be told.
1190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Zcash price is going UP on: December 24, 2016, 04:07:09 PM
I was just wondering who the hell was buying this thing during a bitcoin price surge. Maybe I would understand buying some XMR because of the GUI wallet hype which it seems is going to be rather shortlived.. but what the hell... ZCash.. really? This thing has the worst coin supply distribution of all times and has an all time high that will forever be seen as a joke. If you cannot reach your ATH ever again, it has a big impact on the market psychology.
1191  Economy / Speculation / Re: When we hit the old ATH -- pullback or slide through? on: December 24, 2016, 02:51:38 PM
Why 1000 and not 1200? Just because it's a rounder number?

Both 1000 and 1200 are mental numbers. 1000$ because it's a strong psychological barrier, a lot of people get scared when we get near there, as you can see it's correcting a bit right now, not a bad thing, let the price accommodate.

1200 is the ATH, so another psychological barrier. I think there will be a dip, smart people will buy it, dumb people will miss it and once we get past the ATH+ for good they will be left with no bitcoins to hold.
1192  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Poll] What will Bitcoin be worth on Christmas Day ? on: December 24, 2016, 02:06:06 PM
No need to hope to test $1000 as it simply will not happen. Our biggest concern should be to keep the price above $800 in the coming months.

If that's something that we can achieve, then after that we might be able to focus on reach $1000. Mainly because I have the feeling that things are about to turn any time soon.

It is perfectly possible that we test $1000+, we are seeing a backlash now tho because people get scared when we get close to $1000 , but we will get there. Notice that the last bubble went from 30 to 1200 in a matter of hours, this rise has been going on for months and we started the rally at about 250 dollars, also back in 2013, only MtGox existed. Bitcoin is now way more powerful and is able to absorb all the panic selling idiots quickly.
Personally i think we will see a correction and then the rally will continue. The think is, it may start going up again at 870 and some people expect a lower price and get out of the game to get in.
1193  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where are we? on: December 24, 2016, 01:49:47 PM
We are not even in the first bear trap yet. I think the bear trap will come once we get near 1000, people is stupid and prone to psychological numbers like 1000 because they are too round and "nice", so they will think selling it's a good idea. It is obviously a bear trap, then we start going up again, then we get media attention and we hit 10k.
1194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOT Upgrading to SegWit who's with me?! on: December 24, 2016, 01:45:52 PM
I am waiting until the miners upgrading to segwit, but i am doubt about that the miners will be upgrading to segwit.
They think the segwit will make bitcoin be controled by government or someone out there.
It is one of many reasons why the segwit not be activated yet.

You should update your Bitcoin Core software to 0.13.1 no matter what miners do. Already 40%+ of people moved to 0.13.1, if you don't you are missing out on bug fixes and so on. Also it shows miners how most people want Segwit. It's a matter of time miners become reasonable and do the right thing (that is, to activate segwit).
1195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOT Upgrading to SegWit who's with me?! on: December 24, 2016, 01:15:55 PM
There are a lot of places in the developed world where you may live in an area that doesn't give you access to very fast internet. In any case, if you raise the blocksize to 2MB, then so what? it's going to get filled fast, probably it wouldn't even take a year. What then? do we keep raising it as soon as we hit the blocks being filled?

Also in case you didn't know, all Core dev want to raise the blocksize (except one) and all experts including Andreas Antonopoulos agree that Segwit should be activated before attempting any blocksize raises, so you can thank the anti Segwit crew for the lack of scaling and innovation.
1196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's freaking 2017 - Do you own 1 BTC? on: December 24, 2016, 01:09:22 PM
It has been a long time since I already hit the 1 BTC milestone. I still remember the day that i went 1+ BTC in my core wallet, it felt great. Now I am aiming towards the 21 BTC dream, which I hope to reach somewhere in 2017, unless Bitcoin goes to 3000+ dollars per coin as it seems it's going to go that way.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the location affect when we gamble? on: December 24, 2016, 12:07:46 AM
I think it does if you are talking about physically going to the casino, because I have seen people that don't even gamble at all, turn into gambling lunatics when they visit las vegas for the first time. They start gambling away like crazy and the fuckers just wouldn't stop and spend like 1 grand a night. I think it's all the flashy lights and hookers all over the place that turns them into reckless gamblers, if you aren't used to vegas it can be dangerous.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Is there any gamble going on if bitcoin will reach 1000 before january 1 2017? on: December 23, 2016, 11:36:57 PM
A cool bet would be to bet if bitcoin will or will not reach 1000 before january 1 2017. Would you bet a yes or a no? I think I would bet like 0.5 BTC that we might see 1000, at this rate it's really possible.

Are those sites trusted to create a smart contract/bet?

https://bitbet.us/
https://www.betmoose.com/

There's already one going on on the first site but I think it's really conservative:

https://bitbet.us/bet/1344/bitcoin-to-top-1200-usd-before-january-2018/

At this point we might hit 1200 in a couple of days..
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you gamble your (or your child's) school fund? on: December 23, 2016, 11:29:12 PM
Man if i were you never take risk when you had something to pay it will broke you life for sure how if you family knows what you are doing then you are probably going to stop going to school if you want money then why don't you tell your parents they will understand you than using that for illegal thing and using it for illegal activities.
There is a lot of people out there that is really reckless about their investing. It is a bad sign that you would invest something as important as a money given by your parents for a particular goal which is paying your education. I think this is a sign of early addiction to gambling with money.
I mean sometimes taking a risk is worth it, but you can't risk big amounts. Like risking 20 dollars back then to buy 100 BTC would have been a good idea if you felt like it, because its a reasonable risk.
1200  Economy / Speculation / Re: 778 resistance broken, 779 hit, time to fly!! on: December 23, 2016, 11:08:02 PM
We just tested 920 minutes ago looking at bitstamp USD/BTC, really, really nice vibes about this. I feel like we are really close for the 1,000 milestone. That's 80 dollars away only... the more the price pushes the more confident it becomes to reach it. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. The higher it goes the more feedback it gets. This market psychology will guarantee 1,000. I think even if a bitfinex type incident happens, the dip will get bought fast.
