1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to build a new mail system on: November 18, 2019, 05:13:25 PM
Well.. for that to work as far as I know you will have to create a decentralized network of nodes that also provide data storage functionality - because where are all those emails be stored? Of course that the data nodes should be  encrypted. To achieve true decentralization you need quite a good amount of nodes in the network spread across the world so you might have to take that into account. Wish you good luck with your project and I'll follow the development.
1182  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do people decide to create Cryptocurrencies? on: November 18, 2019, 04:52:17 PM
Creating a new coin/token is pretty free nowadays. Also people have a wide variety of blockchains and platforms to create their token. The hard part is creating a viable sustainable ecosystem for the token value.
1183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: November 18, 2019, 02:29:29 PM
Even if I agree with the OP statement in a big percentage he is missing an important thing. The liquidity on altcoins is very low and we can't know if institutional funds will pour into them eventually. Personally I think they will do and when that happens we will probably see those spectacular gains again. IMO it is worth the risk reward equation Wink
1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [What IF] Part 6 on: November 17, 2019, 05:49:07 PM
Of course I won't.. The time & attention required to be online all time is not worth it and you can't be sure you will hit the jackpot. Depends on the free bet though, if it is a million dollar I might do it, though, but still gambling should be for fun not making money. That's my philosophy regarding gambling.
1185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Keybase airdrop fake not pays on: November 17, 2019, 05:14:17 PM
I have heard from some friends that they have received the   airdrop. As far as I know the rewards are disbursed by the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) so I don't see why would they scam anyone... I really like the encryption part of keybase ; IMO it could be a real competitor for Telegram.
1186  Economy / Speculation / Re: The 2020 Next Bitcoin Halving vs The 2016 One on: November 17, 2019, 04:56:18 PM
I believe that the halvening is pretty much priced in so I expect the price to dump when we get closer to the halvening so the institutional investors can engineer liquidity for their positions while retail traders get bullish for the halvening. After a pretty harsh stop loss hunt I expect another bull market leading into the price discovery phase.
1187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are the positive news and those users? on: November 17, 2019, 12:53:01 PM
We need to acknowledge the fact that the people interested in speculating crypto has dropped significantly since we've gone through the bear market. There are not many retail traders left in the market and IMO that's the primary reason for the lack of FUD in the forums like it was back in the days. There is an insignificant amount of people that would react on that FUD if you know what I mean.. Institutional investors laugh when they see FUD. They never make decisions based on other people's POV, especially a newbie posting on a forum.

1189  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoins or Bitcoin? on: November 16, 2019, 04:59:48 PM
Personally I would go for a 100% BTC focused portfolio IF I had to choose between the two, but I believe that altcoins have higher growth potential than BTC just because we haven't seen any serious institutional funds pouring into them. Who knows what heights can them achieve if that would happen? BTC is the less risky choice though if the potential reward is somehow more conservative.
1190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin = Truth on: November 16, 2019, 12:08:37 PM
Well, I wouldn't get so radical. Bitcoin doesn't mean truth, but freedom and transparency that comes with the use of the blockchain technology & decentralization. Fiat money is controlled by central authorities so this way they control the amount of money in the economy and adjust it when needed( or at their preference?)

Bitcoin is definitely a well-deserved upgrade of our global financial system that matches the technological era we're in now. New eras require new fundamental shifts on how we do things.
1191  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are people of today hates learning? on: November 15, 2019, 03:25:28 PM
The most successful people in the world are constant learners. They are all starving for knowledge and challenges. Just to give you a couple of examples: Ray Dalio said that he's always looking for challenges so he can evolve even though he is a billionaire and rotates money with a shovel haha. And as an example from the trading realm Peter L. Brandt still calls himself a "student of the market" although he has been trading for more than 40 years now if I'm not mistaken.

It is in our human nature to not do anything if we are feeling comfortable. We get complacent and lazy unless we motivate ourselves. That's why you always need to push your limits.
1192  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you use FB's Libra? on: November 15, 2019, 02:35:54 PM
No, I wouldn't use it because I don't want a tech giant to spy on all my transactions. Especially if Libra is going to be only available inside the Facebook infrastructure. Nevertheless I wouldn't feel comfortable using a currency created by someone who's been implied in personal data leak scandals. I believe that the right to privacy is not evaluated well by the society and we should put a higher price on it. We literally give our name and phone just to get a measly discount for a product..
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One solid reason that I came across for the need of BitCoins. <Be Your own Bank> on: November 15, 2019, 08:44:57 AM
It is normal to charge for services provided to you. I have made the conversion and 100 INR is just around 1 buck. People there are spending time and getting paid by the bank to do that work ( even if works just means responsability over what they sign). Even when Bitcoin will be adopted you will still need some kind of documentation from your wallet(list of transactions) or from the bank ( as well) - who says banks won't work with Bitcoin in the future? You will still need that kind of documents when trying to get a VISA.
1194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Hong Kong protesters use Btc for anything? on: November 14, 2019, 05:56:07 PM
You might think that the asian people are more inclined to use the new technology, just because their cities are the most technologized and we all know that a lot of hackers and good programmers are asian. It seems like they have an affinity for tech, idk.. But I am yet to see an official statistic about this.

HK is big business hub and I'm sure there are many people out there who do use & love Bitcoin. However I don't see the relevancy. For sure we need as much adoption as we can get, but HK is not big enough to make a major impact unless an investor with really deep pockets decides to make a considerable investment into BTC. Wink
1195  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Bitcoin: Chess Masters vs. Surfers on: November 14, 2019, 05:21:19 PM
Haha.. It's quite a paradox here. Scalping usually requires a much stricter risk management rules and still they have to follow the same technical analysis just to be aware of the higher trend and get in and out as quickly as possible. If you don't have what to do during the day and you know how to control your emotions it is a reliable way to make a living. Many traders just scalp and don't play the trends.
1196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An investor lost $24 million worth of bitcoin on: November 14, 2019, 04:56:55 PM
And.. this is why you should keep your holdings in a hardware or paper wallet. Or even a software wallet if the wallet is not connected to the internet. By SIM swapping it means that someone changed the sim card in his phone? Then it is the investor's fault as well especially if he knew he has such a big stake in cryptocurrency. In the era of technology, extra cybersecurity measures are a must and we should all at least get a basic education on how to protect ourselves against cyber threats.
1197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks do not control my bitcoins - Zimbabwe News! on: November 14, 2019, 02:34:20 PM
This is just another example of the shortcomings of fiat controlled by central entities. You literally can't get the value of your money. I'm sure that Zimbabwean people work hard for that money and still they can't use it? That's a flawed economy and it will collapse sooner or later. The inflation is ridiculously high. IMO the countries in this kind of situations need to definitely change their economy to cryptocurrencies because fiat is not viable anymore. I mean come on.. you can't withdraw 5 bucks worth of currency?! How you're gonna live ?! lol By getting back to bartering, here's my goat - give me some bread haha
1198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is twitter a good source of info? on: November 14, 2019, 10:51:16 AM
Well.. most of the posts on Crypto Twitter as they name it is junk, FUD, FOMO, etc. There are certainly valuable posts that people can learn from but a person needs to do a lot of filtering and 'noise' cancelling, so if you somehow can centralize the 'good' posts out there I'll be surely using your service/following your account.

1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Went Crazy On 12/11/2019 ! on: November 13, 2019, 05:20:19 PM
Just regular choppy action, stop loss hunts, liquidity engineering, all that kind of stuff. However if you zoom out and look at the overview picture you will notice that we are just in a big consolidation period. Monthly is still on a more bullish posturing. You see... all the noise is on the lower timeframes because in a market with low liquidity and relatively low volume compared to the traditional markets it is very easy to "move" the price if you have deep pockets.
