lucif,

So if we don't get a crash after this super crazy 5th wave, does this mean 1) the analysis has finally failed, or 2) do you start talking about the super super crazy 6th wave that will definitely be the top? If 2), then I fail to see the value of the analysis, since it apparently just changes till it finally works. Also, does this analysis provide an entry/stop? Not trying to troll you, just wondering about the analysis.

I want to know what triggers margin calls under gox lag condition
nothing, margin calls /FE wait for mtgox

But, I got a margin call the other day and gox price didn't spike enough to trigger it. Is this the recent change that Raphael mentioned?

yes, this change is new, plz email him on the support email for details.

is this some kind of market manipulation? Users cant sell if they cant deposit
that's quite a paranoid scenario
1190  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: March 20, 2013, 12:43:48 AM
Is there anyway to see the historical buy/sell prices for the Bitfinex level 1 orderbook? It would be nice to be able to see what the price is spiking too once MtGox is lagged out.

https://bitfinex.com/pages/public_log

ppl so far did not go bannanas and buy/sell when mtgox is lagging seams most ppl follow the mtgox lagging price

This only shows me what price the orders were executed at. It's my understanding that positions are forced closed by the current buy/sell price. So someone removing their ask could cause a margin call, am I correct? I want to be able to determine the probability of a margin call in the gox lag condition.
margin calls/forced execution goes only to mtgox since the bfx order book dont have the volume to tank that

1197  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox trading fees: is a revision due? on: March 19, 2013, 04:20:23 PM
What do you all think about bitstamps's trading fee schedule, is it better than MtGox's ?

https://www.bitstamp.net/fee_schedule/

To get to 0.29% comission fee at MtGox you have to trade a volume of 25000 btc for last 30 days = 1.45 mill USD with current prices.

To get to 0.2% comission fee at Bitstamp, you have to trade $150,000, and at current prices this equals 2.5K USD!

So, the bitstamp fee structure seems to be significantly better than the structure at MtGox, and that's probably why the trade volume at Bitstamp has increased, at least for traders who care about the fees, this is quite the difference.

Well, what happened was that Mtgox decided to separate their resources to handle better the load during crashed (that's the best, the nicer explanation I can find). So they moved their API from mtgox.com to data.mtgox.com (without notice but you don't have to ask too much do you...).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=150786.0 <-- announced 10 days ago. It might have been nice though by Mark to announce it somewhere else too I guess...

Shame on me then Smiley I looked only on their news page/support part of their website.
