1181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did Satoshi Advertise Bitcoin ?? on: June 05, 2017, 06:30:34 AM
Looking back in time,Satoshi didnt use the avertisments for bitcoin I think he was helped by his friends to spread it orally. He was just using those bitcoin as a payment. No ads were shown about bitcoin in television. It was spread through social media and different sites.
Looking back, there really was not an advertisement on tv about bitcoin by the year 2009-2010 but there are some advertisements via news about bitcoin way back 2012-2013 so I guess satoshi really never advertised it, but the early adopters are the one who advertised bitcoin but not in it's early years. Google, social media sites, and computer related forum other than this had a huge significance on attracting people to use bitcoin which used claims of other people who have used bitcoin to advertise it.
1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [STJ] STORJ Token Sale :: 19th May - 19th June on: June 05, 2017, 05:42:20 AM
This might be the last week of this campaign and good to see that they reached their target pretty early, like to hear about the after sale details from the teams and when you will be listing your coins for trading, really looking forward to that.
I think Storj would be listed in the exchanges said in the OP right after the ICO ends because old token of storj which is storjcoinx, is already listed on bittrex and poloniex. Maybe they would just close the trade of the old coin for a bit then replace it with the new storj like what c-cex have done with xaurum when it released v2.0 or they will just simply add storj then remove old one later on.

1184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That moment when you buy 1BTC at $2500 on: May 31, 2017, 11:24:43 AM
If I were you I would just try to get more money out of that 1 BTC so that I got more to hold through trading. If you are not familiar with it yet OP, just do what the others have said so far, to hold what you got now who nows maybe bitcoin price would be 2600$ tomorrow or next week so I guess if you don't want to do trading, hold it but if you want to sell now, go ahead there are many things that you can do using your money now if you really need it.
1185  Economy / Exchanges / Re: list of good exchanges? on: May 31, 2017, 01:41:59 AM
For a list of exchange here's what I recommend. First, I recommend bittrex.com, I have used these exchange for a year and got no problems with using it like how I used c-cex.com, another exchange I trust but be careful storing alts in them since they delist sometimes the ones who got low daily trading volume and low total volume. Another exchange that I use is cryptopia.co.nz, so far I have no problems with using them but I have only used their exchange for only a few months.
1186  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Kaya Pa Bang Kumita Ng Maganda Sa Pinas? on: May 30, 2017, 02:54:51 AM
1187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin - Need some advice on: May 29, 2017, 04:36:38 AM
That said, can anyone explain to me the cheapest method of buying BTC?
Also, what is purpose of buying / saving BTC?
Should I be using  an online BTC wallet when buying & storing BTC?
The cheapest method of buying BTC so far is buying via coinbase, it would also be easier for you. Also, it depends on what purpose you have for buying BTC but some like me buys and holds it to grow money. You should be using your online wallet for buying bitcoin, preferably coinbase and blockchain for storing it if it ain't a big amount but if you will store a lot, use electrum or any similar desktop apps to store bitcoin since it is safer than online web wallets.
1188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mining or tranding? on: May 29, 2017, 02:09:29 AM
Do you think is more profitable mining or trading? Advantages and advantages of anything.
If you will really invest a lot of money by buying some fancy equipments to make electricity cheap may it be solar and a good mining rig that would give you ROI better, then mining will be more profitable but if you will invest money that is not that big, Ill say that trading is more profitable but you need to have skills in analyzing and predicting to do trading.
1189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Easiest Way to Turn Bitcoin into Cash? on: May 29, 2017, 01:20:29 AM
If the country you lived in have a local exchange like where I live now, exchange using that platform so that it would be easy if there aren't then convert your bitcoin using any exchange that would be the most convenient to you although finding the one that really is the most convenient for you sometimes can take long.
1190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRB] Creditbit - ERC20 token on: May 29, 2017, 12:05:56 AM
Hey dev,
I recall you said Creditbit will be listed on JAXX wallet and saw an announcement of a partnership between JAXX and  Bittrex on twitter---> https://twitter.com/jaxx_io/status/867458978816684032 doesn't that make it easier to be listed on Bittrex Exchange
It might make bittrex consider creditbit for listing since their partner listed it. There's also a possibility that bittrex won't list creditbit in their exchange anytime soon but let's wait I think creditbit would be listed there. Nice tweet you got there by the way when will it be ready? There is no date indicated in the tweet linked above that was posted by jaxx so maybe you would know .
1191  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin mining should be profitable now on: May 28, 2017, 10:21:21 PM
Bitcoin mining should be profitable now as

Bitcoin fees are much higher now

Example :
If I am going to buy 10 Gh/s from Hashflare = $1.2 + 0.002 trx fee
but return is not worth to invest
It won't be profitable at all I think OP especially that you made a cloud mining site an example since they won't last long there is a chance that you won't get the return of your investment. It would be profitable if you have the hardware for mining and the country you lived in has low electricity cost but if not then mining using hardware would also be not profitable. It would be better to just invest that money you want to invest onto somewhere else.
1192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: May 28, 2017, 03:51:53 AM
I have think of it and i have save up bitcoin just a the small amount because i have plans for it to have fun like travelling didn't even save it for future purpose. so i wanted to know what are you going to do with your bitcoin if you save bitcoin. Why do you save bitcoin for? and why? what is the purpose why you save up bitcoin to your wallet and not to spend it.
I save bitcoin because I want to have money in the future and I want to have some cash in case I needed more money in the future. I save up bitcoin to my wallet and I don't spend it easily just because I want to have a sort of insurance if I am running out of money I will use my savings in bitcoin, some percent of it to start a business when that time happens and of course to get by until the business I will build up that time is generating profit steadily.
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: May 28, 2017, 02:34:20 AM
I think if you are studying in college and then being active in these forum is hard, college is where you put all of your focus and knowledge, it is not that I want you to stop doing part time job here in the forum, but I think you must focus on your studies. I think it is good if you can join a signature campaign with less posts per week, so you can focus more on your studies than here.
It really is hard to be active in this forum when you are studying especially when it is getting near into final exams where there are many requirements that are needed to be completed and submitted. It might be good to join signature campaigns with low post requirements but it would be better to go long term on altcoins during that times since when you come back and have free time the money invested might grow so I do this once in a while before those time comes hoping when I come back my investment have grown. It is less time consuming too and with it I can focus more on my studies when needed.
1194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to BTC/Alts when stock market crashes? on: May 28, 2017, 01:45:42 AM
What is your opinion on the BTC/Alt market in an event of a stock market crash?

1. BTC/Alts rise because these are seen as alternative investment.

2. BTC/Alts fall because these are seen as an even more speculative asset than stocks.

3. Nothing happens

I would say that 3, nothing happens.

Mainly because stock markets and cryptocurrencies are completely two different unrelated things. Most stock market players don't even use bitcoins and most bitcoin users don't play on the stock market, because they play in altcoins already.

There shouldn't be any direct correlation to btc except the strength of the dollar that is affected by the stock market.
You are right that they are unrelated so I chooses 3rd option in the poll too because I also think that they are two unrelated things so therefore, nothing happens. If there will be some effect it will have on bitcoin it will be little unless the whales of stock market would invest in bitcoin too which I think would not happen. If that happens bitcoin will surely rise but I don't see it happening soon this year or next year.
1195  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money? on: May 27, 2017, 04:00:59 AM
Holding bitcoin for a long time is really a good way to earn money because it has potential to grow more in terms of price and it might be sold more than it's current price now in the future and can multiply money even if someone just hold it then just let it be afterwards. It can also be good to buy and sell bitcoin short term because price fluctuations happens a lot in btc market and crypto world.
1196  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading alts/btc can be treated like full time job/real business? on: May 27, 2017, 03:15:22 AM
Trading alts and btc can't be treated as a full time job or real business because it can't always give you a constant stream or supply of money because it can be stable sometimes without action and sometimes can help you gain a huge sum of money. It would be good as a part time or 2nd business but it does not qualify for one to make it a real full time job.
1197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If you have now 500$ for invest? Where you invest? on: May 27, 2017, 02:16:04 AM
If I have 500$ now for investment, I would put 400$ of it to the  altcoin in my signature, creditbit. It's price is pretty cheap right now ranging from 20-30k satoshi price which was originally 60k satoshi and it got a lot of potential. I heard creditbit token would be added to jaxx soon so I wont miss this chance of investing in it. I would put 100$ left on bitcoin when another correction occurs.
1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When is the Best time to Buy Cheap Coins? on: May 27, 2017, 01:33:24 AM
The best time to buy cheap altcoins is when bitcoin price is up and when a coin is just released on an exchange after an ICO. Typically when there are some campaigns launched here many bounty hunters dump at the first weeks after a certain altcoin has been added to an exchange so therefore the first weeks of a coin's release after an ICO is sometimes the best time, not when bitcoin price is up.
1199  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: May 27, 2017, 12:44:21 AM
For me, I buy at the buy orders side when the spread of price of an altcoin is big when sell value and buy value is compared. I also buy coins that are dumped a lot that I think have potential to grow like doge, eth, ltc and then hold them for long term and wait for a good exit point and their price now is the good exit point. I also watch for news related to altcoins then I buy the ones that I think will have a potential to grow especially coins who are having ICO at present.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: ViaBTC tx accelerator !! on: May 26, 2017, 07:59:35 AM
ViaBTC tx accelerator is always beyond transaction limits !!! I rarely get a transaction accelerated, is the service so popular ? any other tx accelerator that can help ?
Sometimes I pay a good enough fee at the time of transaction, but then the network takes an hour to mine a new block, meanwhile many transaction are made in that hour with higher fees, delaying my confirmation even more !!!
Viabtc accelerator is really very popular since it is the only free service that offers tx acceleration but it is still slow even after using their service, transactions take 5 hours or more sometimes. There are also others that offer the same service but they dont offer it for free. I tried another tx accelerator site but they ask for 5$ just for them to accelerate my transaction so I guess I will stick with using viabtc.
