1182  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: TerraHash Group Buy @ 0.50 BTC on: June 16, 2013, 08:57:04 PM
Thanks a lot.  Grin But I think I would rather wait the 24 extra hours than to trust not only TH but you also. Especially when you are obviously trying to take advantage of Gold Fever suffering people. And usurping the reward  TH is giving to those that signed up for an account early.

Show me where you can buy 1gh/s of hashing power for 0.50 btc?
1183  Other / Beginners & Help / TerraHash Group Buy @ 0.50 BTC on: June 16, 2013, 07:25:47 PM
Hello newbies,
Thought I would cross post this into your section as you cannot post elsewhere just yet,

The gist of the group purchase is 1.11 GH/s for 0.50 BTC

1186  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: TerraHash Group Buy Interest on: June 16, 2013, 05:58:53 PM
So far we have several people interested in this, please keep the PM's coming, the due date on this will be on Monday @ 8PM EST, allowing me ~ 12 hours to get everything finalized for the purchase on Tuesday at 9 AM PST.
1187  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: TerraHash Group Buy Interest on: June 16, 2013, 05:56:36 PM
Here are my initial calculations:

The group buy would purchase 1 or more DX Large units with 10 Modules running at 180 GH/s priced at 84.99 BTC as proposed on terrahashes website http://terrahash.com/product/terrahash-dx-large/

Each mining rig would be split into 180 shares at 0.50 BTC each representing 1.11 GH/s

20 Shares would retained by the group owner for compensation.

Running costs on a monthly basis are:

$50.00 / Month / Rig as outlined on http://terrahash.com/hosting/

$100.00 / Month for electricity, this is currently a guesstimate as terrahash does not yet reveal these numbers except for that each board requires 128Watt PSU. Please send corrections if anybody has a good idea about this.

If you would like to be entered into this group purchase please send funds to:
1PUzHqFKAdpgbtNEccP7GcjDwbGNz2cifF

Escrow is welcomed via John K.

More info to come as I get this going.
1188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do I need a Lawyer??? on: June 16, 2013, 04:38:53 PM
Here is how I understand it:

If you are exchanging FIAT for BTC then you are a money exchanger and need an MSB license.

Just about anything else is up for grabs at this point.

Note: IANAL -- you might want to hit up msantori, the lawyer into bitcoins on this forum, he/she has been very helpful in these regards.

In addition your lawyer may want to contact msantori to discuss matters further.

Again, IANAL!!
1189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mtgox not so big anymore on: June 16, 2013, 04:14:31 PM
I think this because of paranoia that mtgox will be shutdown. I think the volume is divided into new and existing exchanges like

btc-e.com
bitstamp.net
mcxnow.com
bter.com
criptsy.com
crypto-trade.com
campbx.com
cavirtex.com
vircurex.com

You can buy and sell BTC directly with your linked bank account in the US with coinbase too.
1190  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Groupbuy] Jupiter KNCMiner (0.5 BTC shares) 12 sold! [CLOSED] !!! on: June 16, 2013, 04:12:00 PM
Although I like the idea of the IPO, I am not particularly trilled by the idea that yet two more parties are involved in our income from the GB. I just want my income in my own wallet, period.

Hence the following question:

I have tried to find a way to automatically withdraw from BitFunder/WeExchange the moment anything is being deposit on my account but haven't found it yet.

Is there a way to do this ?

quick question, if you were in their same situation, having a LOT of bitcoin transactions/shareholders to look at, do you prefer to give out the dividends to the shareholder manually?

Personally, i could go mental just to think of it Tongue just my two cents there

Hey Hasher,

What Ben is actually referring to is that on bitfunder dividend payments go to your account balance and are not directly payed out to your own bitcoin wallet. I will ask Jon if it's a possibility of adding that feature.

If anyone has an idea on how to do this currently on bitfunder please share Smiley

I don't think there is a way to do this, they purposefully de-coupled themselves from fiat by going with weexchange as a pass through.

You can send your BTC directly to your wallet, but funding your account must go through weexchange.
1191  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BitcoinOrama Report on the KnCminer/OrSoC Open-day Mon 10/06/13 (Stockholm) on: June 16, 2013, 04:07:54 PM
Well there will be a small decrease from gpu miners jumping ship and the low hashing ascis. Also the other sha coins will distrubute the load a bit, but the only way any1 is going to make a few $ is if the price of btc increases which is the big unknown in the whole equation.
+1

Then it's just more profitable to simply buy BTC with your fiat and not miners. The point in mining is to get more BTC for your fiat than simply buying BTC on the market.

No that's the greed in mining. The point is to distribute the network fairly away from few centrally dominant sources and process the transactions throughout the network that make the currency viable...

If mining is an unprofitable endeavour for the average Joe there will be no decentralized mining . People just cannot afford to lose money in the world we live in. ASIC mining poses a very real threat to the network decentralization, and that's why Scrypt based coins have been developed and Avalon says that they always wanted to go open source and sell chips only.

Sorry to tell you this, but it already is, not everybody has $1000's or 10s of $1000's to drop on multi GH/s hardware.

Terrahash has announced pre-ordering availability to those folks that have signed up for an account prior to their announcement.

As can be seen in the image below, I will be one of the lucky ones to pre-order on Tuesday June 18th at 9:00AM PST.

I am planning on purchasing a hosted 18GH/s unit for myself and was wondering if there is any interest in folks that want to get on board with the early pre-order.

1194  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ASIC USB Bitcoin miner 300Mh/s on: June 16, 2013, 01:33:47 PM
At this rate, it will take about 241 days to mine 2 BTC at today's diff.

With diff. jumping 15-28% per week or so, these things will NEVER ROI...... EVER!!!

I'm wondering if some people are hoping to jump on them to mine SOME BTC, and then hope to sell the USB's later to put them in the profit.

Personally I think it is greed and the novelty of it all plus ease of use and of course the fact that they actually delivered in a reasonable amount of time (i'm looking at you BFL!!!).

If you had purchased BTC at under 30 and have 1000's of them then you can easily ROI, because your actual cost basis is on a per unit basis, much much lower. For those of us that jumped on board recently like me, well it is just this side of being too late.
1195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ASIC USB Bitcoin miner 300Mh/s on: June 16, 2013, 01:03:21 PM
These things need to be priced at less than $30 or .3 BTC today to be even remotely worth there hashing ability.

At today's diff. 1GH/s gets you about 0.025 BTC per day.
You would need 3 of these to get to 1GH/s

People have been buying these things on ebay for > $500.

In the recent round of group buys I purchased 28GH/s for around that same price, bringing the $/GH/s price range down to ~$17.86.

TerraHash is set to deploy a 4.5GH/s hosted board for 1.99 BTC and a 18 GH/s hosted board for 6.99 GH/s.

The prices for $/GH/s is dropping fast.

1 of the USB ASIC miners will as of today generate 0.0083 BTC per day.

At this rate, it will take about 241 days to mine 2 BTC at today's diff.

With diff. jumping 15-28% per week or so, these things will NEVER ROI...... EVER!!!

Sorry for not being to update the prices in USD. We have been busy assembling the first Klondike 16 board for testing.

We have successfully assembled a Klondike 16 board. Here are some pictures:

Its still missing one component (a capacitor), that we will be getting on Monday, and the power connector, which arrives on Monday too. We will start testing this next week.

Can any EE's comment on the board?

How about a floating p2p exchange for starters.
