11821  Other / Meta / Re: Monero agenda trust abuse on: May 29, 2016, 12:46:04 PM
1) Monero is not the successor of Bitcoin.
2) I don't see any trust abuse.
3) I don't see any reason for BTCT to intervene.

How about providing us with actual examples of these 'abuses'?
11822  Other / Meta / Re: 50 BTC TO GET VIP HERE? AM I DREAMING? on: May 29, 2016, 10:47:42 AM
Just saying you can't take a loan and say I will only repay the principal because 0.1BTC = 0.1BTC Grin
Exactly how are donations comparable to loans? They're not.

Lauda's point is that fiat value is irrelevant (I agree), mine is that time factor(/opportunity cost) should be considered.
Changing the required amount at this time would be unfair to the people that have previously donated.

if I already knew bitcoin then and part of this forum and bitcoin was only $10 I would have donate 50 btc because it's worth to be a vip of this forum but I guess it's almost impossible to donate $50 now..
Why would it be impossible to donated $50? You can donate any amount that you want, just don't expect things in return.
11823  Other / Meta / Re: Deleting Posts From The 2bacco main thread for no reason? on: May 29, 2016, 08:48:17 AM
Why? If the quoted post is not insubstantial or breaking any rules, it should not get deleted.
You're asking the wrong question. If you quote post A (i.e. directly reply to it) in post B, and post A gets removed, then post B would be replying to something that does not exist. Similar things happen when people reply to spam, the only difference is that the bots get nuked.

As an out-of-context example:
If someone signs a message, I quote it (so it would stay even if he edits/deletes the post), he deletes it, my post gets deleted too?
That's a special case example.

As a example: If you just deleted the quoted post, my post would not make any sense at all.

Update 1: It wouldn't. Keep in mind that I've used the word "might" in my initial post.
11824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Plenty of Bitcoin apps now in Apple Store on: May 29, 2016, 08:28:58 AM
If you are a Xapo wallet user, you can have a look at the bottom of my list.
No. I'm a full client user. However, I know some people who are using Xapo.

There are six different instantly paying xapo faucet apps. I have been using them for some time now and they are all safe and nice apps.
Why would I want to waste my time on pennies?

Some countries are Still Anti Bitcoin including Singapore

u can't really trust the wiki list of countries Smiley
Well, it requires constant editing as these positions tend to shift.
11825  Other / Meta / Re: Deleting Posts From The 2bacco main thread for no reason? on: May 29, 2016, 08:23:54 AM
If you quote a post and reply to it and then that quoted post gets deleted, your post might get cleaned afterwards because then you're replying to a non-existing post.
11826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Plenty of Bitcoin apps now in Apple Store on: May 29, 2016, 08:16:21 AM
Regardless of the exact number of applications that it has, I'd think twice before using any of them, that device and that OS. However, I'm more curious on the following:

Banned List
What is this list and where can I find it?
11827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ToominCoin aka "Bitcoin_Classic" #R3KT on: May 28, 2016, 09:07:09 PM
For some odd definition of 'completely', I guess.
-snip-
Classic still has some, mostly-corporation funded, nodes online indeed. There's nothing surprising there. Those nodes matter the same way that the other ~800 mattered that went down the same day.

ZOMG 5 CENTS
Don't you remember the time when it was 4 Cents? Bitcoin is too expensive now and I fear that people will move to alts, said the Classic supporter! Roll Eyes

-snip-
...and so on. Bounties can go a long way to get things done even when there is lack of coding talent in one's side (as is the case). Instead they are wasting money on useless sybil nodes.
Instead they're wasting their money with rented hashrate and not accomplishing anything with it.

Opening up Bitstamp and seeing $508 results in:

Now if you take a closer look over there, there's only ~1.4k coins till $600 and a 'mini-wall' at $500:

This topic has been moved to Trashcan.
Reason: Insubstantial signature spam.
11830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hijacking Bitcoin: Large-scale Network Attacks on Cryptocurrencies on: May 28, 2016, 07:25:09 PM
We show that attacks that are commonly believed to be hard, such as isolating 50% of the mining power, are actually within the reach of anyone with access to a BGP-enabled network and hijacking less than 900 prefixes.
Of course a lot of people have access to the required equipment and have the required knowledge to try something like this. If it was easy to do, someone would have done it at least once already. However, the paper is rather interesting as it describes a lot different scenarios and proposes some solutions. I haven't found any relevant information beforehand, but to address this point:
Quote
7.2 Longer-term measures
Encrypt Bitcoin Communication
BIP 151 is supposed to encrypt the peer-to-peer traffic to make individual analysis harder.

I'll see if I can get some direct feedback for that paper.
11831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: failure bitcoin on: May 28, 2016, 07:09:35 PM
Creating a new account to post bullshit will get you permanently banned. This thread will only get a second chance.

I have proof, I am the creator, however I can not share the failure, if we do we will be subject to attack.
Yes, and my cat is a Jedi master fighting the evil unicorns on Mars. Unless you provide some relevant information, then this can be compared to the FUD spambots.
11832  Other / Meta / Re: ban all signature campaigns. seriously on: May 28, 2016, 05:59:30 PM
If you think that things are going to get better if you keep creating threads on this matter, think again. There are plenty of threads about it; you've made two with zero argumentation.
11833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs & Ethereum shill Fred Ehrsam claims Bitcoin dead and then... on: May 28, 2016, 03:13:38 PM
ETH, also known as "speculation coin" (read further), is now a joke because of several factors (e.g. the bots, the manipulative marketing, the shill attempts at spreading FUD against Bitcoin). Surely ETH has a lot of  potential, but it was never designed to compete with Bitcoin. Each can have its own place unless one gets sucked in by corporate manipulation.

I think he would say "Price isn't an accurate way to tell the ethereum's successfulness"
Which is correct right now, i.e. ETH being overpriced.

Also, as far as i know, Ethereum isn't meant to be a currency anyway.
Correct.

But this could also be the beginning of the decline of the price of the Bitcoin because Ethreum will do everything so that he is superior to the Bitcoin
Here's an illustrative way of showing how Bitcoin 'feels' about ETH:

11834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK Banks Refused 6 Million Citizens Accounts, Bitcoin Doesn’t Refuse Anyone on: May 28, 2016, 09:40:18 AM
You are right . this is really unbelievable. how banks can reject that much costumers. banks are looking for more costumers. I think it is a probably fake news.. but still this is also true that bitcoin won't reject anyone. no matter if he is kid or adult.
If you think that this does not happen, you should be classified as part of the 'sheep' population. Regardless of whether the numbers are correct, this does happen.

It wouldn't make sense to not be able to open a savings account in your name because everyone has the right to open such an account even children.
Who says that you have that "right"?

You will have to pay for everything: money transfer, withdrawal and account maintenance fee. It doesn't matter if you use that account or not.
It comes down to the country. I have a bank account somewhere where you don't pay any kind of fees if there are no transactions in the month.

BTC is simply another currency, why can't banks add BTC into their forex list? That will be an interesting move.
No. Bitcoin is not "simply another currency".
11835  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 28, 2016, 09:22:07 AM
Lauda's cat is prepared.

If we hold over 500 expect to see 600+ before the end of next week...china is pumping now!  Grin
It is already at ~545$ over there.
11836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ToominCoin aka "Bitcoin_Classic" #R3KT on: May 28, 2016, 09:17:57 AM
Cristal claer, its all about taking over control by increasing the grade of complexity and mess around with regulations like some magic numbers 1mb...  Then barking at all others , laudating own stuff and rule by dividing.
Satoshi's original plan was for Lauda's cat to take over the network, not the 'gavinista'. Did you not know this?

I predict the Gavinista Jihad against segwit will be just as successful as the one against OP_CLTV.  That is, not at all.
I was told by the 'Gavinista' that Bitcoin is practically dead. Why is the price going up Huh I'm pretty certain that a certain 'group' of people at a certain subreddit don't even care, as they continue with ad hominem and ETH promotion.

Things would be much simpler if the remaining 'opposers' just accepted Segwit at the moment. You can then focus on a HF afterwards. What Antpool is trying to do now does not help the situation at all. The network was practically at a point where consensus has been met. With KNC gone, Classic is completely done.

It says 0.1 in the OP:
2. Minimum bid increment is 0.1btc.
