11841  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Canaan Avalon 1066 on: December 28, 2020, 08:04:52 PM
it is the same company.

I most likely would need to flash my A1066 as an A1066pro

then run it on low speed.  but. the seller has told me that only the PSU2600-01 is available both the psu 3300-01 and the psu3600-01 are sold out.

So a problem with the 'newer' gear. is no available repair parts.

I have no way to replace any parts on my 4 'newer' Avalons

A1041 2 owned both good.
A1066 2 owned with 1 dead psu

I do have 1 spare s17 pro controller
and 2 spare  s17 pro psu's

I have no replacement parts for my t17+ or t17e

We have 1 s19pro on order due in Jan.

All this brings to the following point.

If you order gear from Avalon or any other builder of gear order some parts.

Ie 5 new A1246 ordered means get some fans at least 1 controller and at least 1 psu.
11842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have a few questions with Bitcoin. Help please? on: December 28, 2020, 07:51:02 PM
Hello. I am doing a thesis on Bitcoin, but I did not actually have any action related to BTC other than buying and selling BTC on the stock exchange a few times. There are some technical points I am stuck with, I search for answers for hours every day, but I cannot find an answer. I would be very glad if the friends who know can help, thanks in advance.

...

7-)Due to the halving practice, BTC mining rewards are halved every 210,000. Production is made by decreasing 50 BTC, 25 BTC, 12.5 BTC, 6.25 BTC. But when the checks are done, it is seen that 21 million BTC will never be produced, I have made many checks related to this, but even if there are very small fractions, it never reaches 21 million, and this is called the Zeno Paradox.

For example;

FEE (btc)           BLOCK                  YEAR         Produced BTC
   50                   210000                   2012          10.500.000,0000000000000

As a comment line in the code file named “amount.h” in this open source code on the site that publishes the open source codes of Bitcoins named Github.com, “Note that this constant is * not * the total money supply, which in Bitcoin currently happens to be less than 21,000,000 BTC for various reasons, but rather a sanity check ”.

Thank you very much for your help.

As for number 7 I suspect BTC developers in time will change code to reclaim abandoned addresses.

Banks do this to account that have not had withdrawals in 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 years.  Different rules for different countries.

12   0,012207031   210000                   2060      2.563,4765625000000.

This is the 2060 1/2ing about 50 years after 2009.

I suspect adding the 2009 untouched addresses back into the pool of mineable coins could be done.

So question number 7 as structured by you  today may not occur.

Also technically btc goes to 0.00000001 or 1 sat which means it ends at 2124 or 2128 since the reward will be lower then 1 sat.

To make smaller rewards code would need to be altered in 2124 or 2128

hey guys,

I´m using phoenixminer on my win10 gaming machine to mine with my 3060 when I dont game. Is it possible to adjust ONE core clock via msi afterburner or phoenixminer command line?

every time I use my pc while it´s mining and browse some sites or check mails, my clock goes up and down and if I´m done I have totally different clocks. most time, when I start mining after reboot it´s 1200 mhz and 57 mhash. but then it´s 1500 mhz and hashrate drops to 54 or 53. sometimes I have 1830 which is maximum.....tdp is always 50 %, but clock goes up and down and mhash too Sad
if I restart the miner it sometimes helps....but I get different clocks every time...it´s lottery to get 57 mhash...any idea?

with my old 2070s that was no problem at all...you could do some work and if you´re done the miner goes up to the maximum hashrate automatically.

I have heard of your issue and have yet to see a fix for it.
Maybe some one has a fix and can help out.

11845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is pointless if the BTC fees increases along with rise in BTC price! on: December 28, 2020, 04:17:09 PM
So in short everyone thinks that one should start using lightening network rather than using btc itself.
It's like using alternative for your stuff.

No issues, since we are in the cypto space and it has already given us more than enough in terms of value, returns or money making stuff at it's best one can tolerate that much of struggle. Lolz.

But would have been better if fees were in control. Like the traditional banking system.

Nope because it would kill off mining ⛏.

Also high btc fees help other coins such as doge or ltc.

If every btc transaction was 1 sat. The network could be flooded with 1 sat transactions using 1 sat fees.

350,000 x 2 sats would flood the memory pool.

I think that is only 0.07 btc maybe 0.7 as I may be off a zero.

but either way you can’t allow the entire network to be flooded so cheaply.

lightning network will slowly be adapted. and other coins are really good for moving small transactions.

ltc and doge are well established asic backed coins with low fees.

I always look at ETH or any altcoin vs bitcon price, never USD.  eth buy pressure may go crazy if the incentive is there (defi shenanigans).  Im happy mining ETH but if bitcoin pumps more and eth price goes from 0.028 to 0.018 say then youve lost a lot of potential bitcoin even if eth usd price goes up.  GPUs are still nowhere to be found where i'm at (3080, 3060ti, 6800, 5700xt) at msrp or close.  Miners are buying them from scalpers at any price.  Please never buy from scalpers.  1- they mine with the gpus and then repackage the box as new of course and 2-if something is wrong you have to RMA instead of store return.  I'm happy i'm at max capacity and the mine makes a lot more than my yearly salary as of current profitability...  let the insanity return to bitcoin for a little while at least please Smiley

edit: futures are interesting.  big miners will sell eth futures to hedge future mining profits.  will we see ETF's based on ETH futures ?  That would bring a lot of retail money in and it will pump.

Mining both BTC and ETH. And I don’t care for eth one bit.

Still I dance with them a bit.

Yeah I just mean each halving is like another proof of the concept

I suspect the halvings will lose significance as we go on, this being the last one to have a macroscopic impact.

I hope you are off by 2 jumps.

I like 2028.

But you could be right.
11849  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Far is GrayScale & Other Institutions Going to FOMO Bitcoin? Poll! on: December 28, 2020, 02:51:34 PM

OK....according to the article below (link) the following below really caught my attention.

https://www.investopedia.com/grayscale-trust-gbtc-is-key-to-bitcoin-price-jpmorgan-5093550

quote:

JPMorgan's strategists write that the inflows into GBTC "are too big to allow any position unwinding by momentum traders to create sustained negative price dynamics." In other words, investor enthusiasm for GBTC shares is a determinant of Bitcoin's price trajectory, and other Bitcoin traders do not possess sufficient market share or Bitcoin holdings to influence a correction in the cryptocurrency’s price.

unquote.

OK...I get it, but one wonders how much they are gonna push this price pump of Bitcoin until that 'burp' and are FULL! Or hell, is GrayScale just 'ahead of the curve'

as they have been all year, and simply ahead of another FOMO/ATH run of other investment giants also waiting to cannonball into the Bitcoin pool?

So the question becomes, is this gonna be another run up to around $50K Bitcoin into 2021 as everyone piles in? Or is this simply the top now due to 'mainly'

ONE buyer of FOMO in mass: ie GrayScale Trust?

Well, what do you think, how far will GrayScale Trust go on all this, and/or will other investment giants jump in as well?

Consider taking the poll here.

Brad

More will invest. Norway purchased 2 usd worth of  for every citizen about 2 x 5 mill = 10 mill.

European Union is 450 mill people. a simple 0.5-1.0 % rise in vat sunk into btc for all 450 million is not the stupidest idea in the world.

That would mean a true to the moon move of epic size.

Here is an old document
http://stics.mruni.eu/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/209-222.pdf

vat in the whole union is huge so if combined vat is moved up just a bit to invest in a European Union hedge fund. BTC could go nuts maybe even as far as Saturn fuck the moon or mars.

11850  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 340k USD Q1 2022 on: December 28, 2020, 02:46:38 PM
$340k?

That's a fairly conservative, typical speculation from experienced Bitcoiners.

Unusual from a noob.

Welcome.

i actually came around the time when Monero was first introduced to the market. (After the whole bytecoin scandal) but i've been focused on XMR because i think Tari is going to be a huge advantage , and also because i think (Just an opinion) that Monero is what Satoshi would have wanted from BTC. Cheers Jimbo.

I think this will be the top. Whats your speculation?

I haven't reported the thread because this is the speculation section but it would be good in the future if you give some reason, even 1, why you think that will be the case.

As I said in another thread, one can clearly see that we are in a bull market, not only because of the price but also because these kind of threads.

I hope you are right OP, even if that prediction came out of inside your ass.

Don't make me get diarrhea now.

. Thank you for a morning laugh.

Sideways at 27 is more possible...

I'm going to repeat this hehe

1eth = 1gpu..almost a 3080 a piece, if you hodl for a bit longer, it can be a 3080ti or a 3090.

so upgrade your gpus wisely folks  Wink ...aaaand do not fill your precious space with low hashing cards hehe

Or mine your eth selling 1/2 and holding the other half.

I can see eth over 1000 by my birthday on Jan 27

and I am not an eth fan at all
11854  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: December 28, 2020, 04:45:47 AM
I have two take aways here.

1) Norway 🇳🇴 purchased 2 dollars in Btc for all of its 5 million nations. Total of 10 million now worth 13.5 million. If companies are going to grab coins what happens if countries start grabbing coins.

2) Mining ⛏ will become large scale industrial. A single antbox with 15 ph may be minimum buy in.

These will result in very high difficulty. price of 100k means diff can be 4x what it is now.

Not my list but a good one that points out allot of true things.
1. Approximately 57 percent of all children in the United States are living in homes that are either considered to be either “low income” or impoverished.
2. More than 25 percent of all U.S. children have a chronic health condition that affects their ability to learn. Perhaps we should not be feeling them so much junk food.
3. In 2011, SAT scores for young men were the worst that they had been in 40 years.
4. The average young American will spend 10,000 hours playing video games before the age of 21.
5. One study discovered that 88 percent of all Americans between the ages of 8 and 18 play video games, and that approximately four times as many boys are addicted to video games as girls are.
6. According to a survey conducted by the National Geographic Society, only 37 percent of all Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 can find the nation of Iraq on a map.
7. According to one survey, 50 percent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 cannot find the state of New York on a blank map.
8. Only 26 percent of Oklahoma high school students know what the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution are called.
9. Only 10 percent of Oklahoma high school students know how many justices sit on the Supreme Court. 10. At this point, 15-year-olds that attend U.S. public schools do not even rank in the top half of all industrialized nations when it comes to math or science literacy.
11. Children in the United States are three times more likely to be prescribed antidepressants than children in Europe are.
12. The United States leads the world in eating disorder deaths.
13. The average American drinks more than 600 sodas every single year. That is by far the most in the world.
14. Back in 1962, only 13 percent of all Americans were obese. Right now, approximately 36 percent of all Americans are obese, and it is being projected that number will rise to 42 percent by 2030.
15. In America today, many families allow the television to raise their children. In fact, the United States is tied with the U.K. for the most hours of television watched per person each week.
16. There are more school shootings in America than anywhere else in the world.
17. The United States has the highest divorce rate on the globe by a wide margin. This is ripping millions of families with children to shreds.
18. Without solid family units, more kids than ever are joining gangs. Today, there are approximately 1.4 million gang members living inside the United States. That number has risen by 40 percent just since 2009. 19. There are more than 3 million reports of child abuse in the United States every single year.
20. If you can believe it, an average of five children die as a result of child abuse in the United States every single day.
21. Sadly, the United States actually has the highest child abuse death rate on the entire globe.
22. Approximately 20 percent of all child sexual abuse victims are under the age of 8.
23. In the United States today, it is estimated that one out of every four girls is sexually abused before they become adults.
24. According to researchers, convicted rapists in the United States report that two-thirds of their victims were under 18, and among those cases 58% said that their victims were 12 years old or younger.
25. The percentage of children living in poverty has risen from 17 percent in 2007 to 22 percent today.
26. Today, one out of every four American children is on food stamps.
27. It is being projected that approximately 50 percent of all U.S. children will be on food stamps at some point in their lives before they reach the age of 18.
28. As I have written about previously, approximately 42 percent of all single mothers in the United States are on food stamps.
29. According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, 36.4 percent of all children that live in Philadelphia are living in poverty, 40.1 percent of all children that live in Atlanta are living in poverty, 52.6 percent of all children that live in Cleveland are living in poverty and 53.6 percent of all children that live in Detroit are living in poverty.
30. It is estimated that up to half a million children may currently be homeless in the United States.
31. It is estimated that child homelessness in the United States has risen by 33 percent since 2007.
32. Right now, approximately 25 million American adults are living with their parents.
33. Law enforcement officials estimate that about 600,000 Americans and about 65,000 Canadians are trading dirty child pictures online.
34. The average high school boy spends two hours watching pornography every single week.
35. An astounding 30 percent of all Internet traffic now goes to pornography websites, and the U.S. producesmore pornography than any other nation has in the history of the world.
36. In the United States today, 47 percent of all high school students have had sex.
37. One out of every four teen girls in the United States now has an STD.
38. The United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate on the entire planet by a wide margin.
39. One survey found that one out of every five teen girls actually wants to be a teen mom.
40. We have borrowed 16 trillion dollars that we expect future generations to repay. We have consigned our children and our grandchildren to a lifetime of debt slavery and they don’t even realize it yet. When they do realize what we have done to them they will probably curse us bitterly.

USA poisons many children with intentional lead water. Makes the kids stupid. Child lead poisoning lowers iq 4-8 points.

USA is a fallen giant. With no real shot to get back up.

I remember that incorrect fork.  I was mining on bitminter we were on the correct fork.  We did very well because quite a few were on the correct fork. I think we grabbed 2 or 3 very fast blocks due to that happening.

Well this issue could have Been put to bed years ago.   As developers could have forced it onto the network.

They choose not to do that.

I wonder if we will ever have a new false fork issue.

I was reading bitmain is doing a partnership with viabtc so it looks like hash of pools is linking up.

I wonder if we get more empties due to this.

So kano.is was 1 block  in  last 2 years correct.

off the top of my head is that about 1 in 300 was empty?

checked the kano.is stats 100 weeks is about 2 years and you made about 100 blocks.

so your % of not empty is 99% correct?

so we just need to see % of not empty for big pools.

If 98% you are better

If 99% you are tied

who feels like checking

Antpool
f2pool
viabtc

for last 2 years.

this is linear.

so 10x or 100x  the hash should not change % of full blocks.
