11861  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: How to harrass billionaires? what's your ideas before choping their heads off? on: August 22, 2018, 09:19:08 PM

please provide your ideas... those billionaires are here to rape, enslave, genocide, play, manipulate us and see us as the jew see their slaves... ahh most are jews... curious... like most at the fiat printing press... it can't be a coincidence... poor goys... so dumb. Smiley.

In 1776 Adam Smith proposed in his book the wealth of nations an idea that shows this is not a problem at all.

He showed that the the more money rich people make when running their business it's better for the whole society.

The more money they earn , the more people they can hire to work for them, to make more money.

Attacking billionaires or millionaires is not how a nation will become richier. You have to work with them.
11862  Economy / Reputation / Re: Suspicious signature campaign !!! icoforums.net on: August 22, 2018, 09:04:43 PM
Just updating this thread. I just noticed that there are many transactions now from the wallet of the admin.

https://etherscan.io/address/0xba0d86e83ada8e9faeaf3c0d14f210654739a6c7

Looks like the people in the "suspicious signature campaign" are being paid now. -

That's interesting.

They have also reduced the rates for the second week. And they will reduce again in the third week.

The campaign was confused and they hired a bad manager, however it looks like it wasn't a scam.
11863  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela In Chaos - Massive 95% Devaluation -new Bolivar pegged to state crypto on: August 21, 2018, 02:32:14 PM
It still amazes me how one man can do so much damage in a countries economy, pushing its people into extreme poverty and nobody being able to do anything about it... It's sad that this is happening to the Venezuelan people.

I see this move to crypto as a desperate attempt to save the economy but he still doesn't get it. The more decentralized they go the worse it will be to the country as no one in their right mind would invest in something started by a dictator.

The population tried to remove him through protests, but they were repressed.
They tried through election, but they were fraudulent.

They tried to kill him with a drone last month, but the attack failed.

Now Venezuelans are refugees in Brazil

11864  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin the future of money on: August 21, 2018, 02:09:18 PM
I think fiat money will always exist.

Bitcoin will be an interesting payment method, especially for tourists or anyone else who comes from a country that uses other fiat.

Bitcoin, for the next years, will be more like a payment method. Its adoption will grow as a payment method for next years, until there is a vast network of companies and stores that accept bitcoin.

Probably a future economic crisis will hasten bitcoin adoption and bitcoin as an investment will get even more media attention.

There is a long way to go until bitcoin can even dream about replacing most fiat uses.

Your data analysis is amazing ddmr.

I am happy to see I participate in many boards. I didn't know that other users are used to visit only few boards.

There are many boards which I ignore completely, such as mining, reputation, scam accusations, gambling, etc...

Your post is a good incentive to try to visit other boards and change posting habits
11866  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this a scam?? on: August 21, 2018, 12:45:47 PM
I think you should move this to board investigation or scam accusations.

Also you should provide more information about the company name, team, etc.

The more information you provide, the better. Also, why are you suspicious about this project?
11867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange Hack - A Bitter Truth for the crypto! on: August 21, 2018, 02:20:45 AM
That's really a problem. Exchange Jack is something that it will always happen, as nothing is 100% secure. Unless if the keys are hold offline, that's why bitcoin is amazing.

This is why exchanges are great attack vectors.. only a part of the exchange funds is hold offline

Nobody should keep any money on exchanges. First because they can be hacked. Second because some government may freeze your funds or the exchange funds.
11868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ETF keeps rejecting Cryptocurrency? on: August 21, 2018, 02:14:33 AM
Etf was rejected mostly because its price is easily manipulated. Sec allegations were based in investor protection to fraud and price manipulation.

As explained here:

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/26/winklevoss-twins-bitcoin-etf-rejected-by-sec.html
Last year, the SEC disapproved an application for the "Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust" but in June, the group submitted a proposed rule change. Among other arguments, the agency said in a release Thursday that it did not support the Winklevoss's argument that bitcoin markets, including the Gemini Exchange, are "uniquely resistant to manipulation." It also highlighted issues of fraud and investor protection.
11869  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Mining Beginners Advice on: August 21, 2018, 01:46:34 AM
Beginners use to think that mining is free money

However, for most of the people it's not profitable, as energy costs are too high and hardware costs takes years to amortize

It's usually much better to just buy the cryptocurrency you want, than to spend thousands of dollars and expect to receive the investment in a few years.

There are a few countries with low energy costs that are very profitable to mine. Every newbie should consider his energy costs at all time.

11871  Economy / Economics / Venezuela In Chaos - Massive 95% Devaluation -new Bolivar pegged to state crypto on: August 20, 2018, 04:08:37 AM
Chaos and confusion erupted across Venezuela, and most stores were shuttered on Saturday, after president Nicolas Maduro announced that the government would enact a massive currency devaluation, implement a new minimum wage, hike taxes, and also raise gasoline prices for most citizens even as the country struggles with the greatest hyperinflation on record, surpassing even that of the Weimar Republic.

As a result of the enacted actions, the new version of the bolivar will be pegged to the value of the state cryptocurrency, the etro, which according to Bloomberg amounts to a 95% devaluation of the official rate, and will trade in line with where the black market was; the government will also raise the minimum wage more than 3,000 percent,  which works out to about $30 a month.

Maduro said the new currency, set to enter circulation on Monday, will be called the "sovereign bolivar" and will be based on the petro, which is valued at $60 or 3,600 sovereign bolivars, after the redenomination planned for August 20 slashes five zeroes off the national currency. The minimum wage will be set at half that, 1,800 sovereign bolivars.  The government would cover the minimum wage increase at small and medium-size companies for 90 days, Maduro added. It was not clear what happens after.

"They've dollarized our prices. I am petrolizing salaries and petrolizing prices," Maduro explained in a Friday televised address. "We are going to convert the petro into the reference that pegs the entire economy's movements."
....
The package of measures combine the necessary with the baffling, Luis Vicente Leon, president of the Caracas-based pollster Datanalisis, said in a Twitter post on Friday.

“The government has recognized the need to anchor the economy to an external variable outside of its control, such as the international price of oil. A wise decision, but it does so by hiding it in a vehicle that suffers from lack of confidence and viability, such as the Petro,” Leon said.K

After stealing the whole country economy, Maduro will try this plan of using the new currency pegged to Petro (crypto).

I think that the idea to have a currency pegged to oil barrils is interesting. However he has no credibility, I doubt it will work.

I believe that Soon his cryptocurrency will be worthless and this new Bolivar will face high inflation rates as well.

He knows that.

Soon people will be buying it a lot cheaper in the black market, not matter how much he says the new Bolivar is worth.

So he plans includes create a very large exchange network (where government control the rates) .

That's not how economy and free market works. People will always find a way to trade bolivars for dollars or any other currency for their real price rates.

Maduro also said he intends to create a unified exchange rate across the country. The new petro-to-dollar-to-bolivar rate would bring the official price of one US dollar to six million (or 60 post-redenomination), which is about the same as the current black market exchange rate and about 25 times worse than the official rate.
To implement the bizarre plan, information Minister Jorge Rodriguez said Saturday the government will open 300 currency exchange kiosks in hotels, airports and shopping malls as part of a bid to supersede the country’s black market.K

I'm logged out of my metamask extension, I tried to visit a fake bitcointalk website, and it gave me this -
Logged in or not, you'll be safe from phishing sites.

Thanks for sharing this.

That's very useful.

I uninstalled my metamask because I was worried about browser spying me and knowing that I use cryptocurrencies.

However this is a great phishing defense.
11873  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: God's money or the people's money - which is the best safe haven? on: August 20, 2018, 02:49:40 AM
When building your personal investment portfolio , cryptocurrencies are a very interesting investment and I believe everyone should keep at least small amounts.

However, when you hold large amounts of cryptocurrencies, the volatility becomes a problem. For this reason I think only small amount which you can afford to lose should be in cryptocurrency.

Let's suppose you put 50% of your personal savings in btc. If btc crashes 40% you will lose 20% of your live savings, which I think is not healthy for you mind...

So I believe the best is to have something like at most 20% in cryptocurrency. Some people can afford to have more than that, others much lower like 1% depending on their toleration to risk.

I believe that people who live in a decent country, like Europe or USA, doesn't need to buy currency from another countries as an investment. In this case you are better diversifying in "gods money" like gold and silver...

I have some euros and dollars because I live in Brazil and at anytime my fiat (Brazilian Real) may lose 60-70% of its value because of governments abuses (specially in election years)

I believe that if you are in Europe and want to buy dollars, it's better to buy some etf such as SP500 , which are a good representation of the USA economy sentiment.
11874  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mastering blockchain - the free eBook on: August 19, 2018, 10:43:14 PM
Thanks Jet Cash for the tip. I have now downloaded the free copy. Glad I did, because judging from the table of contents, it's a real treat.

But I have to say I nearly missed it.  Because, when I first checked your post, I was under the impression that the giveaway was about "Mastering Bitcoin", not "Mastering Blockchain". They surely have similar titles.

I thought this was about Mastering Bitcoin!

I am going to download it now. Thanks for recommendation Jet cash.

I got it in the last 15 minutes. Smiley
11875  Other / Meta / Re: Meta board flooded by account recovery thread ( ban/locked and hacked account) on: August 19, 2018, 05:34:28 PM
I don't get why can't the forum hire like one or two people to recover those locked accounts with signed messages.

One or two people would be able to recover dozens of accounts per day and this problem could be easily solved very quickly.

There are many trusted members here on the forum that would do that for a small fee in btc.
11876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain without Bitcoin, is it going to happen? on: August 19, 2018, 04:22:00 PM
The volatility in Bitcoin is an avenue for traders to earn money, this arrangement puts Bitcoin ahead of the Blockchain tech. thereby delaying global Blockchain adoption.  Blockchain without Bitcoin, is it going to happen?

For now it's highly unlikely that blockchain adoption will happen without bitcoin.
Everything depends on bitcoin performance for now.

I see many people crying about altcoins and bitcoin price being attached, and saying that the reason for this is that bitcoin has more fiat pairs.

But I don't believe in this theory.

I think altcoins and bitcoin's price is attached, highly correlatated, because bitcoin is the most important cryptocurrency, and if it fails, the others will fail too.

Bitcoin also has the best developer team, best infrastructure, first mover...

So blockchain technology adoption, for now, depends on bitcoin success, in my opinion.
11877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What sites do you use to make your investment decisions? on: August 19, 2018, 03:52:08 PM
What site do you use to get the best information to make your investment decisions into ICOs?

I think it's good to read what icobench and similar websites have to say.

It's also good to read the Whitepapper and the take a look at the team, specially advisors, if there is someone famous in cryptocurrency community.

But the most important is to get knowledge about the blockchain technology so you know how to judge if that project is relevant or not.

Personally I am not investing in ico anymore, specially in this bear market... Maybe in the future if I see some amazing team..
11878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Super-bubble exploded, lets grow now on: August 19, 2018, 07:03:45 AM
No I don't think it has exploded just as yet. When the super-bubble really explodes, only a tiny fraction of altcoins is going to survive. It will be a real bloodshed.

Can we say that the dirt has been cleaned and we can now invest at the right price?
Maybe the dirt has settled for now. I have no idea. Maybe it's safe to invest, maybe it's not. It's anybody's guess. But this is nowhere near the kind of bubble burst I anticipate we are going to witness in the future.

I agree. A real Bubble explosion will come.

We have so many useless altcoins. Many "better and faster" bitcoins also...
I hope we can have more time before that. I expect to see an altcoin pump before.

However, ethereum, as op mentioned, is in a very interesting price now. Its also more probable that it will survive a bubble explosion
11879  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any open source exchanges where ICO tokens could be listed for free? on: August 18, 2018, 08:37:59 PM
There are a few decentralized exchanges, where users just trade without any requirement to list tokens. Usually erc20 are all traded there.

Idex, radar relay, many others

https://coinsutra.com/best-decentralized-exchanges-dex/

Ddex is not one of these exchanges. Listing might be free there, but I am involved in a project that has gotten delisted becouse of low volume. The exchange contacted the team, and made an offer to keep it listed and to make some artificial volume. They wanted to charge around 30 ETH/month for this, obviously the team refused to pay so they are no longer listed there.

THe listing is free, but you can't force people to negotiate lol
What a scam project...

Pay to make an artificial volume? That's absurd.
Not the price, buy the idea to make an artificial volume..

If this project is trying to do that, imagine what else they do in the sidelines...
11880  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hacker can hacked your crypto wallet by getting help from Telecoms Operator on: August 18, 2018, 07:39:13 PM
It's only possible to do this if you are using some week 2fa service.

Google authenticatior is not hackable that way.

If you are using authy and you haven't check "allow new devices" you are fine.

Anyway that's a nice warning, and everyone who keeps high amounts on exchanges should be aware about that.
