11881  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger's Valentine's Offer on: February 04, 2020, 10:01:24 AM
I probably should sign up for their mailing list or something, but I hate those kinds of things.
I have never received spam or bullshit emails from them, so you don't need to worry about that. I also used an email address that is not on top of my priority list.

@joniboini, @LTU_btc
You don't have to gift it to your partner. Buy the bundle together with a friend or sell the other one and get some of your investment back. Give it away or use it as payment for a service... the options are numerous.
11882  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: My bitcoin just disappeared on: February 04, 2020, 09:52:34 AM
I have altcoins in some exchanges and, until now, i have no problem with them. But you, that say is better and safier then this exchanges ,lost my bitcoins.
Electrum is the safest and most popular Bitcoin-only software wallet there is. You are in possession of your own keys and nobody else is, as long as you downloaded Electrum from the official website and verified the signatures. You lost your coins because of a mistake you did. My coins have never been stolen from or by Electrum.

I made all the safe procedures (that gathering of words, passwords and etc...)
Unfortunately you did something wrong, otherwise your Bitcoins wouldn't be gone. Where and how did you save those words which are called a seed?

Even so, my bitcoin was vanished from you wallet.
The wallet doesn't belong to anyone here, it is not our wallet. Have you checked the addresses where you were holding funds on a block explorer like https://blockchair.com/ or https://blockstream.info/? Does it show outgoing transactions? Ca you share the addresses so we can take a look?

You should close your doors. You are not a serious organization, you just took the people´s money and put in your wallet for some months, until someone steal it.
They are not an organization at all. They provide a free community service and aren't paid for it.

And, in your homepage, you put a message saying in small letters: the old version is vulnerable to phishing.

The letters are as big as the rest of the text and they are written on top so that is the first thing people see who visit the download section.

I just do not receive any advise on my email
You don't need to register anywhere on the site to download and use an Electrum wallet. How should Electrum know how and where to contact you?

i didnt know that i had to open your website to see this text. you dont have any formal channel to entering in contact but this shit.
Besides 'this shit', information about Electrum is available on many social media channels. Check a few posts above mine for the links.

At least, i took the habit of saying this history in all youtube channel that talks about your wallet. You are the worst organization that i already saw in my life.
My worst regards .
Not an organization at all, see above.

I doubt you are even interested in learning and understanding what you did wrong so if it helps you can continue blaming Electrum for what happened. Nevertheless, I am sorry for everyone who losses money, especially those who made poor choices but learnt something from their mistakes.
11883  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How can you detect a risky transaction before a single confirmation? on: February 04, 2020, 09:18:11 AM
Is there an efficient way to detect wallets that are from exchanges etc?
Besides https://www.walletexplorer.com/, which was already suggested, you can also take a look at https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html
If you scroll down you can see that several addresses are tagged and belong to Kraken, Binance, Bittrex, Huobi, etc.

11886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: onefastway.com - Play poker, cards, coin flip, dice on blockchain anonymously ! on: February 03, 2020, 10:05:57 AM
I don't have anything against Nano but adding support for more coins could only benefit the site. It seems that you limited yourself to the user base of a particular coin but how many Nano users are interested in gambling? I think that many gamblers don't have any Nano. I don't have any but claiming it from your faucet all the time isn't really something I would be interested in.
11887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW RECOGNISE NEW COIN & EXCHANGE? on: February 03, 2020, 09:55:09 AM
What I would like to know is what benefits do you see in using a completely new exchange in the first place? Reputable exchanges have usually been around for years. They have had little to none security breaches, they are liquid enough and have a big enough user base to facilitate trades.

With new exchanges we still don't know what their intentions are. Are they looking to load up on crypto to do an exit scam... Are they collecting user info for scams... Is their security good and has it been tested...

Famous exchanges can also do all of the above and you shouldn't blindly trust any of them. But even in the case of security breaches there are exchanges whose assets are insured and in the past they have refunded their users, if the breach was the fault of the exchange. We can't know what these new exchanges would do if something like that happened to them.
11888  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - Privacy issue (Windows) on: February 03, 2020, 09:32:16 AM
Pmalek, in my case it is still there after 4 days, but for anyone who does not share his PC or sent it for repair, there is no real danger. In some cases, it may be better to live in blissful ignorance than to burden yourself with little things Wink
I don't see it as a burden but it is still an interesting case that makes me thing how long the notification will remain visible there. Those who see it as a burden can just create a new wallet and open that new wallet before closing Electrum, like someone already suggested. That way the notification will show an empty wallet.
11889  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How to protect yourself from fake giveaways. on: February 02, 2020, 02:45:21 PM
If you have to send money to get money it is not a giveaway. Crypto isn't created from thin air, except worthless tokens. If the asset that is created had any value people would be ready to pay money to own it. These airdrops and giveaways are useless.
11890  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to know when BTT users login most? on: February 02, 2020, 02:29:01 PM
You can make a test to determine how many users are currently online by checking https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats.
Under General Statistics it says Users Online: 537. This number changes constantly. Check every 3-4 hours for example and save the numbers. Do that a few days in a row and you will probably notice a pattern.
11891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NitrogenSports forcing me to rollover my deposit once? on: February 02, 2020, 02:20:36 PM
I am glad that in the end you got your money, but I didn't understand why you had to withdraw to Nitrogensports in the first place. Was the only reason the fact that you had that deposit address saved somewhere and it was easier for you to use a known address? Where is the money now and why couldn't you have sent it their in the first place?
11892  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is the hardware wallet really safe? on: February 02, 2020, 02:01:24 PM
It can be seen even from airoplane that they just pump up their post and make fake conversation to rank up faster probably
Their intent is to either get a merit or two from someone and rank up or they are paid to advertise whatever it is they are advertising. Similar to those fake ANN conversations that can be seen everywhere.
11893  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - Privacy issue (Windows) on: February 02, 2020, 01:54:25 PM
Even after a complete shutdown of the PC and one day later the wallet name and balance is still displayed in the notifications area. I am really curious how long it stays there. Hopefully I wont be needing my Electrum app in the next couple of days so I can check this.
Personally it is not too big of an issue to me. There are other wallets that you can open and see more information than this.
11894  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Cross-chain atomic swap protocol BTC <> ETH on: February 02, 2020, 11:50:25 AM
Sure, why not. But can you explain what advantages your service offers compared to what is offered by Atomic Wallet or Komodo who are also doing atomic swaps?
Regarding the site.
Using the numeric keypad (those on the right on the keyboard) doesn't seem to work. Numbers can be entered by those horizontal numbers only. I would suggest changing that.
The max amount of BTC that can be swapped is 0.009. The pool is quite small.

11896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 01, 2020, 08:59:42 AM
In the end, the Emre Can operation turned out to be a €1 Million loan deal + a €25 Million obligatory purchase at the end of the loan contract if certain results are achieved by Borussia. The official announcement doesn't mention what those results are and what exactly was agreed.
https://www.juventus.com/media/native/investor-relations-docs/comunicato%2031012020%20can%20eng.pdf

Another Juventus player left the club. Marko Pjaca has been transferred on loan to Anderlecht.
11897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling websites need to add self-control functionality! on: February 01, 2020, 08:53:17 AM
If someone is a gambling addict he could just create another account and start all over again on a different casino. It doesn't really solve the problem. It's like hiding money or candy from yourself by putting it in another pocket. You still know where it is and how to get to it. Unless you deal with the root problem and try to get rid of the addiction you will just find your ways around restrictions.
11898  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is the hardware wallet really safe? on: February 01, 2020, 08:21:56 AM
These two users talking to each other above are probably the same person. If you check their post history they did this in other threads as well. Fake conversations with the intent to promote their service. Even the accounts were created in the space of just a few minutes apart.
11899  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Kraken Security Labs just 15 minutes to hack both of trezor's crypto hardware on: February 01, 2020, 08:14:19 AM
If so, surely they could just retrieve the 24 word seed phrase, and then brute force the 25th word via a dictionary attack?
Brute forcing a long and complicated password would take years. Your password should never consist of easy to guess dictionary words. I am not sure how reliable this source is https://www.betterbuys.com/estimating-password-cracking-times/.

But they say that a 10 character password would take 4 months to brute force.
An 11 character password 10 years, and a 12 character one would take 200 years.

I like the part where you can test the strength of passwords on site. Just don't enter passwords you use in real life. But an interesting feature to play with.
11900  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - Privacy issue (Windows) on: January 31, 2020, 10:43:29 PM
When I checked this on my laptop there was no notification from Electrum. So, I opened up one of my wallets on Electrum just to make sure and after that the notification appeared. It shows the balance and name of the wallet I opened. After closing Electrum it was still there. I restarted my PC and the info remains. So apparently it stays there for a while but since it wasn't there the first time I checked it probably gets dropped from the notification area after a while. I will check again tomorrow if it changes after the laptop was shut down and not just restarted.
