11881  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: December 26, 2020, 01:21:47 PM
That is funny. It looks like 2021 will see a huge diff jump.

MY guess is someone is building a 100 megawatt solar farm combined with wind.

So deployment may take until May-June-July

lets pretend it is a correct spec.

if it does a usable 50 megawatts 24/7/365 that would be

3.3kwatts x 15 =      50 kwatts
3.3kwatts x 150 =    500kwatts
3.3kwatts x 1500 =  5megawatts
3.3kwatts x 15000 = 50 megawatts

so 15,000 s19 pros = 1650000 th or 1650ph or 1.65eh

if you got a good deal on the gear 2000 x 15000 = 30,000,000 million
if you got a bad deal on the gear 3000 x 15000 = 45 million.

the power plant I describe would be 150 million to build

so under 200 million with maintenance 200 million gets you 20+ years of power and the gear.

So I am thinking this is getting done in multiple places. It just takes time to happen.

once again if all fails get a 16gb usb stick and download from

https://simplemining.net/

this is the download link

https://simplemining.net/page/download

some mobos are fuck you

you could have 3 of the exact same mobos

with the exact same parts in every way

and all programmed exactly the same

and 1 of them will only do 5 of 6 or 4 of 6 cards.

I can help you try to do simple mining if everything you do fails.

I have about 22 rigs with 16 on simple mining and 6 on windows 10

BTW you are using windows 10 correct?
11883  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will institutional investors kill the four year boom/bust cycle? on: December 26, 2020, 12:14:13 PM
Nice thread. Just saw this image on wo thread.

BTC be worth more than all of these combined.

2.244
1.684
1.592
1.174
  .763

.669
.627
.600
.550
.531

the top 5 holdings = 7.457 trillion

the new 5 holding =2.977 trillion

then btc = 464 billion

to think a 10% shift from the top ten to BTC will or won't happen
Is simple.

Pretend it does and it takes the next 3 years to do so.

that would be 745.7 billion and BTC cap would grow to 1209.7

roughly 2.6x todays price of 25k or 65k

Seems easy to do.

This month Norway added 2 usd worth of BTC for each citizen  to Norway's retirement plan.  About 2 x 5 million = 10 million dollars.

But think what happens if the 450 million European Union adds a 1% vat and use it to buy BTC that would be vast numbers.

I can see a huge money shift to BTC for the next 2-4 years.  If the world wraps BTC as a driving force to make new solar and new wind plants. Along with future retirement money as a bundle.

Yeah   just real long term growth.

Running out of coins to mine has a temp fix. Just empty the old untouched accounts. Use them to be mined as second chance coins.

Many countries do this with old bank accounts they call them abandoned.

I think 3 million untouched coins could recirculate.

So in 2028 we are down to 1.12 per block
in 2032 we are down to  .56 btc per block
in 2036 we are down to .28 btc per block
in 2040 we are down to .14 btc per block
in 2044 we are down to .07 btc per block
in 2048 we are down to .035 btc per block  grab the 40 year old idle coins add to mining
in 2052 we stay the same at 0.035
in 2056 "
in 2060 "

makes coins last a long time. does not change the 21 million count.

Do rdluffy ideas

and are you using windows. if so get a usb stick and try simplemining if his ideas don't work

Damn who would have thought we could break $20k one week, and $25k the next week.

30001 by DEC 31 or  Jan 1

lets see how this guess does.

Also a lot depends on Your power cost.

Say these exist you pay and wait 100 days.

They go out and build newer  versions with your money.

Maybe three to five units with 6 or 8 gb.

Takes them a month . They now mine with the one you paid for for 70 days. And have multiple improved models added with the cash. So what happens. They score.

Only mentally ill people would buy this. Unless it was three day ship time.

Besides it is 12000 usd plus shipping and maybe trump r
Tax to usa. Makes it a 15k item that does not show up until april.

AMD 5700xt is say 400 you can get 30 for 12k and do 1500 hash for 3000 watts.

All on warranty. 3000 in cash left over. Pays for 30000 kwatts of ten cent power.

You use 120 kwatts a day with 30 5700xt units. So your power would be paid for 250 days.

I purchased three 5700xts this week for 1200. I know I can get 30 by the 1st of feb.
why buy 5700s anymore, wait for 3060 ti to become comin stock , i know hasrate and power is close i guess

Cause I get the 5700's in under 1 week.  and have 45 days to return them.

Which means I mine when prices are good. And I can return cards if there is a huge crash.
11887  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: December 26, 2020, 04:02:19 AM
Phil - any further word on that 1066 PSU? One of the Kanopool users on Discord just received 3 PSU's for his through Jason from Canaan. He had one die a while ago and ordered 2 extra as spares along with the 1 provided under warrenty.

No one ever got back to me. Would be nice to buy one ☝️.

@ mikeywith I am not sure with my 45 watt guess.

My setup has around 1.7 or 1.8 ph that is at least 45 watts a th.

I think if your power is super cheap 80 Watt gear still works.

If your power is 6 cents you want under 50 watt gear.

It is very hard to know how many
s17
s17pro
m20s
m30s
s19
s19pro. are mining vs the higher watt gear.

for me to say you are wrong with a 55 watt guess
and i am right with a 45 watt guess would be silly on my part.

I don’t know and since I have the 50-50 coinsplit I lean towards 45 watts.

I know you have good power deals so you lean towards 55 watts.

Since more gear is in asia than north america you may be closer to the true number.

It hit exactly $25,000 and then fell to $24,9xx.

About 5 minutes later it bounced back to $25,023.

Wow that was a good guess on my part. 25025
11889  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 26, 2020, 03:49:21 AM
24000 in site.

since Christmas is the 25th. I guess we go to 25025 today.

Now was this pretty good pick for Christmas or what.

By the way what was the exact number over 25000.

We have 1 hour and 11 minutes to go before Christmas ends here in NJ.

I would like to see one more run up to and ending at my 25025  68 minutes left.

Damn I picked a good year to come back to this thread.

I find the 11 days  in a row all making the top 11 very cool.

With luck we can stretch this a lot further.

We have six days left

we may knock out this the last 4 digit number 100  2019-07-09   9,990

and we may knock out this  10  2017-12-17  2,208,232 the last top ten number for any of the exchanges not from December 2020
11893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: December 26, 2020, 12:14:19 AM
Epoch #382 just hit and pretty much killed off all AMG 4G GPUs (unless running lolminer) and Antminer E3. Looking at one pool,
https://ethermine.org/statistics

It looks like so far ~15% of the hashrate has been removed from the network. The block times are longer according to, https://ethstats.net/ so I wonder how low it will keep on going. I am assuming 20-25% or so which is crazy high.

Regarding lolminer on 4GB GPUs? I will probably just remove them from my farm and sell them on Craigslist. Basically there are 3 issues with lolminer. One there is no remote monitoring, there is no GPU throttling under overheat, they crash every 3 hours on average and the worst of all is the speed reduction. Under Epoch #380, my GPUs ran at 29.5MH/s each, then #381 it ran at 28.5MH/s, and an hour ago the speed decreased even further and runs at 27.5MH/s. So basically not worth the headache. RIP 4GB.

Same problem with hashrate, (HiveOS / Lolminer).
First card lost even more, from 29 -> 26 Mh/s.

Next drop in hashrate, first card 23.6Mh/s, rest of the cards 26Mh/s, Going down quite fast.
After it drops under 20Mh/s, it might be better to mine something else.
Quite nice that you can make "profit" with 10Mh/s, its only cents but still.

but network is rising so a lot of gear is getting added on.

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

295 on the 24th

And next, now 21.6Mh/s and 23.8 Mh/s, decrease are percentual, about 9% ? First drop was 3Mh/s, Second 2.4Mh/s and the latest 2Mh/s.
11894  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to trigger central bank collapse on: December 25, 2020, 10:49:51 PM
Central banks will rather adopt blockchain and evolve. Bitcoin solely is not enough to solve global problems

You got it.

Norway has started this by buying 2 usd worth of btc for all of its citizens for retirement purpose.

So what happens if many countries copy this. They simply absorbed btc into central banks.
11895  Economy / Reputation / Re: On padding your feedback score via trust manipulation . on: December 25, 2020, 10:20:39 PM
When and if trusting the alt affects my rating I would be willing to pull that trust.

So you will remove the trust once the alt enters the DT lottery?  You should clarify that, since that is the only reason you are sending trust from your alt account.

I believe it's OK to leave your alt trust, but not use it in the DT system like you are.

yes and i would also recuse my alt from becoming a dt.

i am trying to be able to reward  people in

a trust setting it they deserve it.
b + feedback if they deserve it
c both if they desereve  both

when i use my main account to do c this it can raise my + feedback score.

so if i choose to not do c when i think a member deserves c he or she gets less then they should.

I am trying to see if this idea i posted here will allow people to get both a + feedback and put on my trust list. some people deserve this.

so if this idea works i will stick with it. and not worry about padding my accounts.

I use HiveOS latest version with NVIDIA driver 455. Could you tell me your oc setting please ?
The hashrate isnt stable. It changes al lthe time. Do you have any idea about it ?

Yeah we could swing an ant box with 15ph and we would be done with our power.

Across the street in the second smaller building we could do 200 gpus.

At that point we would be done.

Sad that 15ph for btc and 18gh for eth is going to be too small.

In a year or 2 we simply may not have any gear to buy for our 400-500 kwatts

(max numbers for us)

I am getting older (64 this Jan)
I am not sure I want to build out a 5 megawatt solar build (if investors help with cash).

I can still put in 5 to 6 hours of hard work per day in the mine but after that I get tired.

Covid did not help me much with that. Wife is still doing lung scans almost 12 months since she went to the hospital with it.  She is better, but not there yet.

I spent a lot of time away from mining and working to improve her health.

I may call it quits for growth in 2021 or 2022.
11898  Economy / Reputation / Re: On padding your feedback score via trust manipulation . on: December 25, 2020, 04:58:56 PM
Lastly I am trying to do this in a way that I can give both trust and feedbacks to people that deserve both. Without padding my main accounts numbers.

I think I figured a way out.

my alts trust list

philipma1957

Moving your trust to your alt account is fine, but trusting yourself is obviously going to boost your DT eligibility as others trust your alt.

Remove the trust from your alt, and that would be OK.

I see the point. I lowered my + feedback from 83 to 59 on the main account by changing my level from 4 to 2.

When and if trusting the alt affects my rating I would be willing to pull that trust.

I did an escrow deal and will be + feedback for the buyer and seller given from my alt account.

wndsnb has used me more then once for escrows and has been a good seller.
abeandund used my escrow service as a buyer.

I gave him a +feedback. All using my alt.

Man I’m regretting the fiat rainy day fund I have right now.  Fiat is the real shitcoin.

A shitcoin that rests on violent coercion to maintain its value. Bitcoin has never used threats of violence or imprisonment to encourage its adoption.

They have a lot of lawyers and guns bro.

So they do as they please.
