11901  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which is the best wallet for iOS that supports SegWit? on: August 15, 2018, 11:25:10 PM
Now coinomi works on iOS too.
Good Wallet. My favorite multicurrency wallet
Yeah, and best part of it - Coinomi supports SegWit, so it's great option for OP to use on iOS. It's also my favourite wallet for smartphones.
But still, I wouldn't recommend to keep big amounts of money on mobile wallet. It would be safer to use desktop wallet. Or better - purchase hardware wallet or just create paper wallet to use as cold storage.

I use this rule:
Never keep more than your smartphone is worth in a mobile wallet.

I think it's safe to use this rule .

I use a hardware wallet for my main funds.

Also , I forgot to mention. Ledger nano is a segwit that supports iOS.
11902  Other / Meta / Re: [Survey] Who has who on its Ignore List? (Second try) on: August 15, 2018, 11:16:56 PM
I've tried in the past to ignore users, but honestly I could never do it, and had to take them off the list. Just because I was intrigued about what they had to say. Even though the majority of the time it resulted in me pulling out my hair...

Lol I was going to write exactly that.

I used too out some on my ignore list in t he past. Then when I saw"this user is being ignored" I just removed him so I could read (i am curious lol)

Thank you Loycev.
It was a great campaign. I was proud to participate in this campaign, with so many good posters.
11904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do people know what to set the Gas Price and Gas Limit to? on: August 15, 2018, 06:57:33 PM
i know that ethgasstation is a source, but is this pretty much a guessing game if you want to pay low fees?

To reduce the price of your transactions you  need to lower the Gas Price.
On the website https://ethgasstation.info/ search for Gas Price SafeLow (Gwei). This is a safe value of Gas Price for cheap and low priority transactions.

Gwei is a fixed amount of ethereum (0.000000001)
11905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Won't it be possible to be paid for bounty in cash instead of token on: August 15, 2018, 06:37:14 PM
Sometimes i use to ask why is it not possible to be paid bounty money in cash why is it alway's that is only paid in token anybody that can explain more please?

Paying with tokens is free money, as already mentioned. It doesn't cost anything to the team, also most of them are worthless...

One more important thing is that payment in cash is complicated for privacy and tax reasons.
How would a Chinese company pay people in England, USA , Japan, Russia, etc?
They would pay a lot of money in taxes and convertions.

BTC is the most appropriate currency for this kind of transaction, as it is cheap and faster than a SWIFT.
You should look for bounties that pay with btc
11906  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: coins, coins, coins, which is the better to invest and trade in on exchanges? on: August 15, 2018, 11:52:02 AM
If you are looking at the market, you may have e already noticed that bitcoin is the most stable and resilient coin out there.
You should keep the most part of your cryptocurrency portfolio in btc.
11907  Other / Meta / Re: Just a suggestion from a Member... on: August 15, 2018, 11:43:48 AM

  • Why Bitcoin network specially choosen the 10 minute period for allowing the decentralized network to validate a transaction through consensus process?
  • Why Bitcoin address always starts with 1 and 3?

If the blocktime is shorter than 10 minutes, there might be a lot of involuntary forks (when two pools find the nonce that solves pow at the same time and there are two valid chains)

Bitcoin addresses that start with 1 are legacy addresses.
Start with 3 are segwit addresses which are compatible with legacy.

There are also bch addresses, that are not compatible with non segwit.

Achei essa frase do theymos, mas já vi ele falando q foi o Satoshi q fundou...

Sirius founded the forum and still owns the domain name, so I would say that he owns it.

11910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream currencies all rose, ETC, XRP led the rise on: August 15, 2018, 02:16:42 AM
Indeed.

Bitcoin usually has less volatility. If btc rises, it arises less than the other alts. If it falls, if fall less than alts.

That's why it only rose 2% and the other alts are rising 10% or more
11911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARE CRYPTO DONE? FIAT WINS? on: August 14, 2018, 05:42:41 PM
This time of red days, people are watching the graph and prices... are we done?
mostly holders with weak hands are starting to get panic and getting their belongings out of their wallets.
what you think? hold and grab more or let it just slip away?

Bitcoin survived many death attempts already. It's not going to die. Bitcoin always recovered from the worse and came back stronger

However ,some altcoins are not going to recover.
11912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: possibility of sorting the topics from very hot to normal??? on: August 14, 2018, 04:54:32 PM
Hey guys,

i hope it's the right Forum for this question and the question has not been asked. If yes, I will delete the post!
i was reading through the helps, but i'm not finding a function to sort the topics from very high to normal and the other way around.
I would appreciate if someone helps me, otherwise I think it would be a good suggestion for me to implement this filter function. What do you think?

This is a Reddit functionality, which topics that are more commented and upvoted are hot and stay on the top.
This forum does not have this feature.

I suggest that you go to bitcoin technical discussion and technical support boards. They are the best boards in the forum, with less spam and great discussions.

11914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does ICO developers truly believe in their projects on: August 14, 2018, 02:07:12 PM
Am wondering, if all these altcoins developers that did ICO and raised millions of dollars If they truly believe in their project. If actually they believe in their tokens, why can't they be using part of the ICO money to be buying the tokens back from those who are selling or dumping at very cheap prices??

Atleast they know the amount that's in circulation since they are the one that distributed it.
Am just curious to know.

If it's not a scam, of course they believe.

Creating a ico project is creating a company. There are many risks involved, and the owner of the company is the one who is investing his time and money at the initial phases. The ico may not even cover his costs if he doesn't do it well.
11915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are ETH prices falling sharply? on: August 14, 2018, 12:51:43 PM
I do not believe in my eyes when ETH drops below $ 300.
I went to find the cause and saw some pages talking about this because the ICO is selling out the ETH they mobilized from the investors. This has made the price drop dramatically.
What is happening to the price of ETH?
ETH is likely to drop to $ 200?

300 was a strong support and a psychological barrier and many people was surprised.

I don't believe it will fall more... However, nobody knows what's going to happen.

Remain calm and don't take rush decisions
11916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto down trend market on: August 14, 2018, 10:39:36 AM
All the major currencys are down. What's your opinion on the upcoming market situation?

I believe useless shitcoins are not going to recover. Some of big ones, like nano, might not recover as well.

With Turkey situation going terrible, all stock markets in the world are down, and most currencies as well. Everyone is afraid and money is going to more secure assets, like USD.

Turkey citizens are buying bitcoin as well, so this could be holding bitcoin's price
11917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market cap on: August 14, 2018, 10:35:44 AM
now the market cap of cryptocurrency is near to 200 Billion
what will happend if market capitalizations go under 200 Billion, ?

your toughts please

Nothing will happen....

However, one interesting fact is that bitcoin dominance is now the highest in the year. Near 53%.
At this times of bear market, most people try to protect their capital in bitcoin which is the most stable coin
11918  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] 🔥IOU Signature Campaign | Member - Hero | 0.0007 BTC /Post 🔥 on: August 14, 2018, 10:31:55 AM
Hello Zapo.
As we talked in PM, updated my signature now.
11919  Economy / Economics / bitcoin is regaining dominance. Turkey citizens buying btc. on: August 13, 2018, 11:50:06 PM
Turkey is facing a crisis as its national currency is plunging. The 10-day volatility of the lira relative to the U.S. dollar has surpassed that of Bitcoin (BTC). President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been urging the people of Turkey to exchange their dollars and gold for lira, The Guardian reports.

However, it appears that the savvy citizens of Turkey are exchanging their lira for Bitcoin, evidenced by an increase in the trade volume across cryptocurrency exchanges in the country, according to Forbes.

Though the absolute volumes are still low, the crisis has still shown the importance of cryptocurrencies, which due to their decentralized nature can’t be controlled by governments and central banks. A recent study by Yale economist Aleh Tsyvinski said that an optimal portfolio should park at least 6 percent of its funds in Bitcoin.

Although the overall sentiment in the crypto world is still bearish, the market participants continue to favor Bitcoin, which has increased its dominance above the 51 percent mark.

Bitcoin is showing great resilience in this crash. Already 51%.
Ethereum is now 280.

Turkey citizens buying btc shows again one of the most important attributes of bitcoin, and why it is valuable: if cannot be controlled.
