11941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: December 19, 2020, 03:47:29 AM
NorthEast United lost 1-0 to jamsedpur today. I don’t think this team has the ability to fight for the title. I have never seen a good game from them in this season. On the other hand, Bengaluru FC plays well every season. They were also in the top 3 in the last 3 seasons. This team will do their best to win the title. Since ATK Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City are playing well this season, they will also be fighting hard for the title. Overall, we will see a tough fight between these 3 teams.

So far this season, the performance of NorthEast United has been below par. They were overdependent on Bartholomew Ogbeche, but he has now landed with the Mumbai City   FC. And the local players are unable to plug in the gap which was left by his departure. Their squad looks very unstable as of now, as most of the key players such as Reagan Singh, Redeem Tlang, Rowllin Borges and Puitea are representing the other teams.
11942  Economy / Economics / Re: Fake COVID-19 vaccines....by Paying in Bitcoins on: December 19, 2020, 03:37:01 AM
As said in the previous posts, and I agree with it because people wanted and they are so desperate with the vaccine. Maybe most of them can't wait to get the vaccine because they are not the ones being prioritized. I mean, it is really dumb buying vaccines in the black market. Who even knows where that vaccine came from?

It is a dumb move to purchase vaccines from the black market. But I can understand why people are getting more desperate. Till now, more than 1.6 million people have lost their lives to COVID 19. But if you are outside a high-priority demographic group, then you may not receive the vaccine before 2022. The government is prioritizing those with comorbidities, and those above 80 years of age. A lot of the deaths have occurred outside these two groups, and therefore I can understand the desperation being shown by them.
11943  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal to allow cryptocurrency buying, selling and shopping on its network on: December 19, 2020, 03:25:24 AM
In any case, the PayPal service is very interesting, but I am more interested in the possibility of purchasing various goods on sites using cryptocurrency through paypal. Of course, I can only do this on foreign sites, but not in my country. PayPal only provides national currencies and I don't understand why such restrictions.

As far as I know, you may be able to do this by mid-2021, when PayPal will launch their full service with cryptocurrency. But there is a catch though. From what I heard, this feature will be available only for the users from the United States. In case you are residing outside the US, then I guess you need to wait for some more time, to purchase anything with PayPal Bitcoins.

In case you are in a live-in relation, then the male partner doesn't have the right to call off the relationship. If he does so, then the female partner has the right to file rape charges against him (here in India it is known as "sex on the false promise of marriage", which comes under rape). So although the physical relation is consensual, the partner may be arrested and sent to jail. Only option for him is to remain in the relation and to marry the female. On the other hand, the female partner can call off the relation whenever she likes. The male partner can't file a complaint against this.
Is this even real, to break up with your partner is impossible  Roll Eyes. How can you remain in a relation if you do not want to continue and you are not married either to share the half of your wealth and many people consider having a live in partner rather than legally marrying until you are sure about it. It looks really stupid if they blackmail people into getting married even if they do not want.

I understand the rape charges as we are living in a crazy different world than before and i know a common friend of mine who was accused of rape even after having a consensual act and things are really dicy.

Well.. with radical feminists in power, expect more and more biased laws coming up in the future as well. Here in India, there is another option to get out of this mess if you don't want to marry the female. You can go for an out of court settlement. It will cost you almost all of your savings, but at least you don't have to marry someone who is not loyal to you, and the jail term is avoided.

But I expected more gender-neutral laws in Pakistan, when compared to India.

Ashwin is in the team for his bowling skills and he is one of the top spinners in world cricket even though he does not have a place in the shorter format as the level of competition is high and his batting skills are a bonus while playing in difficult pitches.

IMO, Ashwin's batting skills are not better than that of either Pat Cummins or Mitchell Starc. He has scored some valuable runs in the past and his batting average is much better than his Australian counterparts. But most of his runs have come against weak opponents in Indian pitches. Expecting the same in Australia, against the pace trio of Starc/Hazlewood/Cummins would be a little too much.

So history repeats right? There is always a rally, which starts after some 6-12 months from the block reward halving. We had a really in 2013, after the block reward halving in 2012. The same occurred in 2017, after the block reward halving in 2016. And the latest block reward halving was on 2020, and in less than 6 months time we are having another rally. The exchange rates are getting very predictable now.
11947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 18, 2020, 04:33:47 AM
A player should give priority on patriotism rather than money. Let him go, we don't need players like him to be in our national team.

Cricket is like any other profession and earnings matter a lot. Also, a cricket player has a peak time of only around 5-6 years. He needs to earn as much as possible during this period. Why can't the PCB treat the players the same way as the WICB? The West Indies management never forces any of their players to report to national duty. But in turn, this has benefitted the players. And at the same time, some of the younger players have got the opportunity to represent the national side, as the regulars are not available.

Poor from Ashwin and Saha. They did all the hard work last night and gone early today without adding much runs. I doubt if India can even survive long enough in this inning. couple of yorkers from fast bowlers and Indian inning is done..

239/8

------
Umesh swinging bat  Grin

240/9 now. Umesh Yadav getting out to a very unnecessary shot. India was 233/6 and now they have lost three wickets for seven runs. The credit should go to Mitchell Starc, but at the same time the Indian batsmen got out playing horrible looking shots. Had they got to 250, then it would have given them a psychological advantage and boosted the morale of the Indian bowlers.
11949  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bangladesh going to accept Cryptocurrency??? on: December 18, 2020, 04:08:13 AM
Why is it a crime there to use bitcoin? Is it always used by the criminals there that resulted for the government to impose such law? That is the only reason I can think of to ban the use of bitcoin there. Other countries who also have reported cases of using bitcoin illegally don't just ban bitcoin thus they require many papers to prove how and where you get your bitcoin.

It is a crime to use Bitcoin in Bangladesh, because the government has imposed a blanket ban on all cryptocurrency-related activity. And Bangladesh is not the only country to have done this. You can check the map at Bitlegal and it is clear that dozens of countries have banned the use of cryptocurrency in their jurisdictions, including Nepal, Namibia, Vietnam and Iceland.
11950  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: December 18, 2020, 03:58:59 AM
Really it is conceivable to live without banks. There are numerous individuals who are living in farther or rustic ranges that do not claim any bank account. Moreover, those individuals that are working in most blue collar employments, who are paid day by day or week after week that do not require bank accounts as they are being paid in cash. Some individuals in third world nations do not claim any bank account up until presently.

If you don't have any savings, then obviously you don't necessarily need a bank account. A bank account is needed when you need to store your surplus earnings securely, or when you need a loan. Unlike the case with cryptocurrency, it is not viable to store fiat currency on your own. You can store banknotes in a safe, but that option is not very safe. Always there is a risk of confiscation or threat.
11951  Economy / Economics / Re: Fake COVID-19 vaccines....by Paying in Bitcoins on: December 18, 2020, 03:45:19 AM
And the ones that can afford it, I guess.

Here in our country, swab tests are so expensive and the government is requiring some to do these tests just so they can go home while there are a lot of these people that just go back and forth without requiring these papers. Then this vaccine which is quite expensive will not be given for free? I feel bad for those poor old people.

Here in India, swab tests can cost anywhere from $15 to $30 per person, which makes it unaffordable to a large section of the population. But if you want to do inter-state travel, then it is mandatory to get a swab test and you need tp show the report at the border check-post. But from what I heard, the vaccine is going to be free of cost in India. The only question is regarding supply and timeline.
11952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 18, 2020, 03:35:41 AM
As far as I know, PCB is the fourth richest cricket board in the world. Yet it is strange why they do not pay cricketers properly. There is a lot of internal strife inside their board. The relationship between the players and the border officials is not good. But it is important for the players to have a good relationship with the team management. If the problem between their team is not solved, the Pakistan team will be lost like Zimbabwe team.

I don't think that your post is accurate. You can check the sponsorship deals and the TV rights auctions. What PCB receives every year from these proceedings is much lower than what the ECB or CA get annually from similar deals. The inability to stage home matches in Pakistan has drained the coffers for almost one and half decade. Only very recently, the foreign teams are agreeing to play in Pakistan. All this had a negative impact on the financials.
11953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: December 18, 2020, 03:20:54 AM
Both Mumbai City FC and ATK Mohun Bagan has 13 points each from 6 matches and they are on top of the points table. After some initial setbacks, Bengaluru FC has recovered well to get to the third position with 12 points (they have won 3 of their last 4 matches, and have never lost a match in this season so far). NorthEast United is trailing as far as points are concerned. So if we talk about the front-runners, right now we have three - ATKMB, Mumbai City and BFC.
11954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 18, 2020, 03:09:21 AM
When the new ball was taken by Australia even the established players were finding it difficult to cope up with the swing and having judgement issues and hence i thought Australia will wrap up the Indian batting line up before the end of the day but Saha and Ashwin was able to hold their wickets even though Saha was leaving the ball dangerously close to the stumps and one more wicket and the tail is exposed.

India is already down to the tail, and I would consider Ravichandran Ashwin as a tail-ender rather than lower-order batsman. Among the remaining players, Shami has some batting capabilities, but Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah are genuine tail-end batsman. Anyway, you can't expect much from them, when the top order batsmen failed one after the other. It is not their job to put runs on the board.
11955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 18, 2020, 02:58:10 AM
If Logan Paul can land a hit to Floyd, we could really say that he prepared for his fight, I can't say that it is as lucky shot.

99% accurate it would not, lol.. and we don't know his Logan Paul really has a power punch that could knock out a fighter with good training and Mayweather have face a lot of boxers where he always got KO but he was able to survive, so this is easy for him even if Logan Paul will trained so hard.

My opinion is that betting for Mayweather is not going to do any favors, as the odds are going to be heavily tiled in his favor. A more realistic way to bet on this match would be to concentrate on the number of rounds, which Logan Paul is able to survive. My guess is that at the most he may survive for three full rounds. Anything greater than that looks highly improbable for me.

BTW, current odds are -5000 for Mayweather and +1500 for Paul.
11956  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC next target 😉 on: December 17, 2020, 05:55:13 AM
Everyone is going ballistic after the new ATH was achieved. But everyone is ignoring the fact that the total cryptocurrency market capitalization is much below the ATH levels that we reached in 2017 December. According to Coinmarketcap, the total crypto market capitalization as of now stands at $624,341,545,591 ($624 billion). Now compare this to the figure we had on January 7, 2018, when the market cap was $833 billion. So we are around 25% down from those levels.
11957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $20 000 BTC. We did it on: December 17, 2020, 05:08:35 AM
It took almost three weeks to breach the $20,000 level, because the resistance was too strong. But eventually there was a "stampede of investors" as Coindesk put it (here). The future prospects are looking very bright and I don't expect the next major resistance formation to occur until we reach a level of $50,000 per coin. Minor corrections may occur in between.
11958  Economy / Economics / Re: Here is why btc will die as a crypto on: December 17, 2020, 04:56:29 AM
Fee is a big problem for the cryptocurrency users and the rise in exchange rates is not doing any favor either. Even if the transaction fee remains constant in terms of BTC, the fiat equivalent is constantly going up. For example, the median transaction fee is around BTC0.0002 per transaction. Two months back, this amounted to around $2. But with the increase in prices, the fee now amounts to $5, although in terms of BTC it hasn't increased.
11959  Economy / Economics / Re: 2021 not Looking good on: December 17, 2020, 04:40:55 AM
why can't it look good? even though the price of Bitcoin at the end of this year reaches above $ 20k,
if after Christmas Bitcoin can reach $ 25k - $ 30k, it is certain that 2021 will be the year of altcoin.

After looking at the current rally, it now looks as of Bitcoin may end up at $25K-$30K by the end of this year. There is a supply crunch and this should take Bitcoin to much higher levels in 2021. But we should expect multiple phases of correction, in which the prices can go below $20,000 per coin once again. If you stay away from panic selling at this point, then you should be safe.
11960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 17, 2020, 04:24:49 AM
Very bad start for India, with Prithvi Shaw back in pavilion. Now they are 5/1 after 4 overs, with Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal at the crease. Mitchell Starc got the wicket of Shaw, and he opened the bowling along with Josh Hazlewood. My initial impression is that there is a lot of pace and bounce in the pitch, which is very good news for the Indian pacers.
