The underlying message of this "meme" is bullshit.

And to top it off, it's not even funny.

I don't care about institutional money, our whole business is cutting out these rent-seeking, monopoly forming useless institutions.

I disagree. This meme points out a very strong contradiction in the bitcoin community.

ETF approval will bring institutional money (Banks, pension funds, hedge funds, etc... ) to bitcoin.
Once it is approved the price will reach new highs. We are talking about trillions of dollars.

Everyone knows that.

Most of the investors out there want it to be approved, because they just want to make money.

However, most of these same investors say that bankers are dying, that they failed, that we don´t need them, blablabla (like you just did).

but you would sell your BTC for 100.000 to a "useless institution"? In fact, pension funds, hedge funds, etc are not useless, but whatever...

I really liked that meme, as I can feel this contradiction.
11962  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB]The SpamBuster's Team of volunteers!TEST RUN!2 Cases open,over 3000 acc on: July 29, 2018, 04:45:50 AM
I am doing many reports, but I am not sure about some things.

I found threads with 800 pages of twitter bounties "proof of work"... others with 150 of telegram names....
Other threads have 100 pages of "good project".

However, does theymos really wants those threads to be deleted? I don't know.

Reporting one by one every "good project" post is ineffective.
Reporting the OP results in an "unhandled report".

Proof of work twitter bounties I am not reporting, as I understand Theymos wants these bounties to exists, as it gives traffic to the forum. Am I right?

I really don't consider a twitter bounty hunter a "shit poster". He is not even a poster, he is just pasting his bounties stuff. However, if he goes to a Bitcoin Discussion thread and starts posting "Bitcoin is the future because it's a digital money" or whatever, then he is shitposting. But I don't see these kind of posts by the users in LoyceV list.

Any thoughts  about this?

I think a badger for 1000 or 2000 or whatever merits is unnecessary.
Merit already shows off in your profile. And the forum's discussions are too focused on merit already.

Badges could try to move the attention somewhere else...

Maybe something more bitcoin related. A community helper badger? I see some users like bob123 that are always helping users in the Technical Support board....

Or maybe a badger for a user that have completed bitcointalk courses?

Facebook is basically the only social media platform used in Brazil. Instagram/twitter etc are barely used.
Not really. According to a research made by We Are Social/Hootsuite in January 2018:

1. Youtube is the most used one (60%);
2. Facebook is at the second rank (59%);
3. Instagram is just behind (40%).

Source: https://www.techtudo.com.br/noticias/2018/02/10-fatos-sobre-o-uso-de-redes-sociais-no-brasil-que-voce-precisa-saber.ghtml

Thanks, I didn´t knew that...

Instagram I think its kind of new here and growing quickly.

11970  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: July 27, 2018, 01:08:58 AM
Worst case scenario I can send some coins from that address thus proving I control it.

In this worst case scenario, your account may take like 6 months to be recovered.... or may not even be recovered...

I advise you to learn how to sign a message Wink
11971  Other / Meta / Re: Require a small amount of merit to become a Junior Member on: July 27, 2018, 01:06:14 AM
So people new to crypto should never rank up? Or wait for years until they become experts? Regular, average, normal people should rank up, not spammers. That's the point.

Even a funny joke can award you a merit. Actually, it probably will award you a merit.

If you read all comments before posting you are half way to receive a merit.
If you read and research, you will get one very soon.

And why do you need to rank up? To join a signature/bounty campaign.
Well, if you have nothing to contribute to the forum why do you want to get paid to post?

I think 1 merit to Jr. Member would be nice.
Or maybe, what if 1 merit is needed to have a signature?

I know a few and I'd suggest them(none of them are my alts):
These two have way more knowledge than I do, and their intellectual capability and willingness to help makes them more than an established member.

Hello pugman.

Thank you for supporting my application. I consider you a great member of this forum and your support means a lot to me.

I agree with you about theyoungmillionnaire, he would be a great merit source and that would be nice for the Filipino board.

11974  Other / Ivory Tower / Facebook blocks right-wing Brazilian political group just ahead of elections on: July 26, 2018, 05:32:42 AM
Coincidentally, at the same day Facebook shares drops more than 20%, the company decided to block right wing political group pages in Brazil.

Facebook has blocked the pages of a Brazilian political group for allegedly disseminating fake news ahead of presidential elections in Latin America’s largest country.

The social media company, which counts Brazil as one of its largest markets, targeted the Movimento Brazil Livre (MBL) or “Free Brazil Movement”, a rightwing group that championed the impeachment of leftist former president Dilma Rousseff two years ago.

Facebook was deactivating 196 pages and 87 accounts in Brazil, which it said were part of “a co-ordinated network that hid behind fake Facebook accounts and misled people about the nature and origin of its content, all for the purpose of sowing division and spreading misinformation”.

MBL supporters decried the move on social media as “censorship”.
....

Facebook is basically the only social media platform used in Brazil. Instagram/twitter etc are barely used.

MBL uses Facebook as its main communication platform. It is a relevant and organized political group here in Brazil, as they organize protests and virtual campaigns. Their main page was not removed.

I am not sure if some posts are allowed or not.

For example
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4571232.0

This thread asks for posts with telegram usernames.

-snip-
Submit your telegram handle in the comment section in the format given below.
Code:
Telegram username

So, they have 122 pages of this

Telegram username: @bablu048

Is this a situation to delete the whole thread?

I think they should use some other database to store their telegram usernames, such as google forms...
This should not be allowed, but I am not sure.

These two other are the same situation:

I think everyone will work to get the mushroom cloud.

So the mushroom must be rare, something like 5000 reports. No small nuke for 300.

For 300 you can get a hat, or a star, whatever.

 = 300 Good Reports (Bronze)
 = 1000 Good Reports (Silver)
= 5000 Good Reports (Nuke)

I just hit my 300 reports lol
I have a long way to get that nuke.

Fonte: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4730614.msg42749694#msg42749694

Fonte: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4730614.msg42749694#msg42749694

I don't see a solution for this situation now. I will keep reporting and see if what else comes up...
A lot of the time these types of threads that are subject to these kinds of posts, and activity are offering an incentive to post. This can sometimes be difficult to find out as several projects put this behind a registration now. However, anyone that finds threads offering an incentive to post, and can provide as much detail as possible will earn my respect.

Not always though. If I can't find any evidence of it then I'll just remove the posts individually.

I found one.
I am in doubt if this kind of thread is or not allowed. It´s not only "Good project", as they also paste their telegram... In my opinion its just spam, but I am not sure what does the moderators think about that.
