11961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]Canelo Alvarez vs Callum Smith Super Middleweight Title on: December 17, 2020, 03:57:05 AM
If you are rooting for Canelo Alvarez to win this fight then below odds is not that bad. Callum Smith is massive so i think knock-out victory by Canelo is slim so i'm going for Canelo via Decision. But putting some amount for Smith as a safety net if upset happens is not bad at all but i'm not going to apply this kind of strategy as i don't believe that Smith could pull an upset.

I disagree with most of the other posters, as I believe that there is a greater chance of Alvarez winning this match by a KO, rather than by UD. So these odds look fair for me. Right now I am not considering the possibility of a win by Callum Smith, as the probability of any such scenario is statistically zero. When was the last time we got a major upset in boxing?
11962  Economy / Economics / Re: Fake COVID-19 vaccines....by Paying in Bitcoins on: December 17, 2020, 03:40:47 AM
Cannot imagine someones buy and sell covid-19 vaccines on black market by bitcoin. The supply of it is really small that isn't enough national demand, and however, it require preservation at special conditions that regular residents cannot response.

Even if there is enough supply, it is not strictly legal to sell vaccines, or any other prescription drug in the dark market. And vaccines are more risky when compared to the other medications, because if you take the wrong one then you may face all sorts of adverse side effects. But at the same time, what fuels this black market trade is the refusal by government to make the vaccine freely available at the market.
11963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 17, 2020, 03:25:14 AM
But definitely it will not be as big as what he earned during the Mcgregor fight, it might millions but I'm sure it will not hit over $100 million in this fight. Logan Paul is popular as a youtuber, but I'm sure not all his subscribers or whatsoever will watch the fight, some would even just watch a free live streaming.

Mayweather vs McGregor was perhaps one of the biggest fights so far in this century. You can compare it with an exhibition match. Mayweather earned around $280 million during the fight against Mcgregor and this was perhaps the largest paycheck of all time for a single match. Ideally you should be comparing with the revenues from KSI vs. Logan Paul, which was much lower.
11964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 17, 2020, 03:08:28 AM
But if you able to read then just check its happening in USA and they are bringing two or three teams from different sports and giving them all good for better quality and better entertainment this will be good if they feel better in their financial prospectus this also can happening in Europe as well but sadly we have no in Asian countries because here issues are very different from other world.

American leagues such as the NBA and NHL are divided to various divisions such as Atlantic and Central based on their location. For example, NBA consists of 30 teams, but they are divided in to two "conferences", which are further divided in to three divisions each. This ensures that most of the matches are played between teams which are close from each other.

Also, the latest from the Indian camp is that Shaw, Saha, Umesh and Ashwin may be included in the playing XI.
India already announced their Playing XI, memo above your post and its signed by Damadji aka Cheer leader aka Ravi Shashtri.

OK. So all four have been included in the playing XI. Here in Indian social media, there is fierce debate on why Prithvi Shaw was selected over Shubman Gill, and why Wriddhiman Saha was preferred over Rishabh Pant. I guess I would wait for some more time, before making a comment on this. This is going to be the last chance in a while for Shaw, and he needs to make use of it.

BTW, I am excited that Cameron Green has been included to the Australian playing XI.
11966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here is why Cryptocurrency future in India is in danger on: December 16, 2020, 01:23:48 PM
The biggest threat for cryptocurrency in India is not any potential regulation from the government, but FUD which is being spread through various social media outlets and online news portals. During the last 2-3 years, I have seen fake news being spread about Bitcoin getting banned in India multiple times. The purpose is to trigger panic selling among the investors, so that the whales can purchase coins at cheap rates.
11967  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic will bring more economic progress in long-term... on: December 16, 2020, 01:11:02 PM
Most of the companies are really moving forward, instead of trying to keep the old system they are adopting the technology and work it out to continue everything, this pandemic really test everyone as surviving to situations is really tough but possible.

As long as you are willing to work things out and you are free in accepting any adjustments there's always room for surviving in.

Not just the companies, but also the individuals need to adjust their lives in order to make themselves more suitable for the transformed job market. If you are able to do that, then you will not just survive, but also thrive. From what I have seen, most of the pandemic-era job losses have occurred among those who have very narrow skill-set, which is suitable only for a certain sector.
11968  Economy / Economics / Re: Fake COVID-19 vaccines....by Paying in Bitcoins on: December 16, 2020, 01:00:12 PM
Why people need to buy vaccines when Govt will distribute them at a very low cost and even free in some countries. Also till now, two approved vaccines need certain conditions to preserve. Moderna’s vaccine requires minus 20-degree temperature and Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine needs minus 70 degrees temperature which even many countries don't have facilities to preserve. So how people will buy and preserve those vaccines.

Eventually the government will distribute the vaccines for free, but it may take a lot of time. If you belong to a "low priority" demographic group and in case you are residing in a developed nations, then the chances are that you may need to wait until 2022 or even 2023 to get vaccinated. This scenario scares a lot of people, and that is why some of them are trying to purchase the vaccine from dark markets.
11969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What the future holds for bitcoin on: December 16, 2020, 12:50:24 PM
The volatile worlds of Bitcoin might be back to normal, there is a possibility that many entrepreneurs are cited for investment due to the price are rapidly increase

I know some people who bought at 19k 2-3 years ago in the hope price will peak above 50k USD but it didn't happen there's a good possibility of it happening now.

Well.. I personally know someone who purchased Bitcoins for 15K per coin in 2017 December. He never listened to me and sold the coins at a heavy loss sometime in 2018 (when the prices were around $5,000 per coin). Even among my friends, I know many who sold their coins in 2018 and 2019, when the correction phase was ongoing. They must be regretting now.
11970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will never replace fiat cash. on: December 16, 2020, 12:36:25 PM
What is the need for Bitcoin to replace fiat. It has been making change to the financial system followed around the globe. As technology advances, there is change with the people's expectation and the need varies. The traditional system wasn't able to fulfill it, and the bitcoin does it. This is how the bitcoin usage is increasing, upon that we should not expect replacing of fiat. Someone around the globe will stick to the traditional system, because they find it convenient.

I agree. If you check the white paper created by Satoshi Nakamoto, nowhere it is given that Bitcoin is designated to replace fiat currency. Satoshi created Bitcoin, as an alternative to the current banking system, which is very exploitative towards the common people. I don't think that we should oppose fiat currency without the exploitative banking system.
11971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: December 16, 2020, 12:26:05 PM
Indian Super League is far better than I league. And now it is proved. We can understand it by watching the matches of East Bengal in ISL.
The match between Hyderabad vs East Bengal has just ended half time. East Bengal is leading by 1 goal. This is East Bengal's first goal in the Indian super league. They could not score any goal in the previous 4 matches. Grin Grin

Well.. East Bengal lost the match 2-3. During half-time they were leading by 1-0, but FC Hyderabad managed to score 3 quick goals in short time during the second half. They remain at the bottom of the points table, with no wins form 5 matches (one of the matches ended in a draw, and as a result, they have one point to their name). FC Goa will take on ATK Mohun Bagan today.

Final of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will be played in a few hours from now. Galle Gladiators will take on Jaffna Stallions for the first ever title. I want the Jaffna Stallions to win, which will be a huge boost to the Northern region (where Jaffna is located) after decades of suffering from the civil war. I would have been even more happier if they had scheduled some of the matches at Jaffna. Anyway, the final match will be played at Hambantota.
11973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 16, 2020, 11:31:01 AM
It's interesting to see a legendary fighter like Floyd Mayweather come back. I, like a lot of people, thought he was finished after his fight with Conor McGregor and he has said many times that he's not coming back. I think he's the clear favorite to win this fight. I hope he beats Logan Paul.

Obviously he has shown very little interest in resuming his professional career. Recently Mayweather turned down an offer to fight Manny Pacquiao. He agreed to the match against Logan Paul, because it is an exhibition match involving an amateur fighter. He doesn't have to train too hard for this fight and it may be a cakewalk for him (if we look in to the performance of Logan Paul against KSI).
11974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: December 16, 2020, 11:20:01 AM
Actually Trump "only" got 304 Electoral College votes in 2016, and called that historic and a landslide (it was neither), so Biden's victory is bigger.

Trump might have received slightly less number of Electoral College votes compared to what Biden received in 2020, but the fact remains that he won most of the states with a larger margin. During this time, Biden won 3 states with margins of 20,000 or less (Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin). Back in 2016, Trump had a margin of less than 20K only in the state of Michigan.

The injury Cameron Green sustained was scary on the spot and hopefully he will pass the concussion test and make his debut as he is a promising allrounder for Australia.

Today there was confirmation from Tim Paine regarding Cameron Green. He said that Green has passed his fitness test and will be included in the playing XI against India for the pink ball test. He is just 21 years old, and I have a feeling that he has the capability to become a regular in the national squad. Also, the latest from the Indian camp is that Shaw, Saha, Umesh and Ashwin may be included in the playing XI.
11976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will never replace fiat cash. on: December 15, 2020, 05:01:04 AM
Of course, Bitcoin cannot replace the world's cash. Because Bitcoin's value is not stable, the government cannot control and grasp the price of Bitcoin so it cannot replace cash.

I have a slightly different explanation. Bitcoin can't replace fiat currency, because it is not suitable to be used as a currency. It is more like an investment asset, which can be used for making payments. But the payment part is secondary. In some aspects, Bitcoin is similar to gold or platinum. They are mostly used for investment, but can be used as currency when the need arises.
11977  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-12-11] Why 2021 Is Set To Be Even Bigger For Bitcoin on: December 15, 2020, 04:50:16 AM
It can also be argued that Paypal is doing their adoption of bitcoin similar to the centralized controlled facebookcoin, however, worse. Paypal wants to control how bitcoins are used while much of the people in the community celebrate and think this is adoption.

Is the specific name called a slave hehehe?

PayPal can't control how Bitcoins are used, because Bitcoin is a decentralized asset. At the most, PayPal can control how Bitcoins are used by their registered clients. But still, there is a limit up to which PayPal can enforce this. Because unlike the case with fiat payments, PayPal doesn't enjoy a monopoly with cryptocurrency payments or cryptocurrency storage.
11978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adult companies and bitcoin? on: December 15, 2020, 04:40:42 AM
Visa and Mastercard doesn't care much about businesses such as Pornhub, because even if they refuse to provide services to Pornhub it will have a minimal impact on their revenues. For them, it is more beneficial to take a moral highground rather than to provide their services to porn sites. Bitcoin should make use of this opportunity to get more acceptable. My only concern is regarding the transaction fees.
11979  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: December 15, 2020, 04:35:14 AM
Using digital transactions is more secure than using paper money at this time. Covid-19 makes people have to do pyshical distancing to break the chain of the spread of the virus. This is indeed one effort for us to keep our distance during our daily activities. One of the right ways is to implement a cashless payment method. With this payment method, the public can minimize direct contact when transacting. So that it can help efforts to suppress the spread of Covid-19. Because, that paper money may spread the coronavirus.

With wallet hacks increasing in frequency, you can no longer claim that cryptocurrency payments are more secure compared to the fiat payments. And while it is true that direct contact is avoided with such payments, it is true with the digital fiat payments as well (PayPal, Moneygram.etc). So what makes cryptocurrency payments better than the digital versions of fiat?
11980  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bangladesh going to accept Cryptocurrency??? on: December 15, 2020, 04:12:59 AM
I think that when you (Gov) know about your country's economic health and see that crypto has a wide range of services available as well as can bring in enough opportunities to the youth of their country if they allow crypto exchanges to operate there. I believe it can also help strengthen their GDP and can also gain some extra momentum as one whole country starts accepting it, so it'll be a win-win for both the ends.

The governments still believe that allowing cryptocurrency trading would be more harmful for them, compared to any potential gains. In none of the South Asian nations, Bitcoin is 100% legal. In India, recently an individual was arrested from the city of Bangalore, for trying to install a Bitcoin ATM. Nepal and Bangladesh have banned all cryptocurrency activity and arrested those who have traded with cryptocurrencies.
