11981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 200: Cormier vs. Jones 2 on: July 07, 2016, 05:53:13 AM
Jones off the card for usda anti-doping violation

still a really good card but looks like jones will be out for a few years

Yeah I read it too at entimports site and it really is unreal for this to happen when fight is just a few days left so who will dare fight Cormier at a very short notice?

I also watched the stare down of Mark Hunt and Brock Lesnar and man you can see how Mark Hunt is shocked but smiling on how Brock Lesnar looks like upfront, Brock Lesnar is huge compare to Mark Hunt, he even looked like a smaller brother of Brock but kudos to both Brock and Hunt, no need to hype their fight with thrash talk unlike other fights scheduled for UFC 200.

Exactly why I think this fight is a coin flip and think there's value in betting on Lesnar.  The guy is not only huge and aggressive, but he's also a freak of nature.  It takes that kind of athleticism to be able to fight and win in the UFC despite a lacking training camp.

Edit:  Does anyone think Cain vs Browne will be the upset card?  I'm itching to put money on Browne.
11982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 200: Cormier vs. Jones 2 on: July 07, 2016, 05:45:21 AM
I was about to post the same thing.  Wow this is totally BS from Jones.  How can he let everyone down?

Anyway, is it confirmed that he took performance enhancing drugs?  Or is it cocaine?
11983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 06, 2016, 06:50:35 PM
I was just wondering if some of you might want to play some daily fantasy sports.  We could create a contest which is open only to the regulars of this thread for .001 BTC to join.  We can use http://ggfantasy.com

What do you guys think?
11984  Economy / Gambling / Re: GGFANTASY.COM - bitcoin DAILY FANTASY SPORTS | Free and GPP soccer contests! on: July 06, 2016, 06:29:31 PM
I have never played any daily fantasy sports before.  I just want to ask if it's possible to create your own contest and play with the other bitcoiners who hang out at the Premier League prediction thread.  I think that would be fun.
11985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Soccer Transfer Market 2016/2017 ! on: July 06, 2016, 05:49:29 PM
It's confirmed.  Mkhitaryan to Man United.  I hope he does really well in the EPL and doesn't become another Kagawa.

Pogba next...?

11986  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Seeking some advice. How does one start to become an escrower. on: July 06, 2016, 12:23:33 PM
By...not wanting to become an "escrower".
Sounds odd? Well, think about it.
You're not supposed to be the guy who wants to hold onto each and every traders goods, you're supposed to be the guy people want to trust with this stuff from themselves.
Act like a trustworthy person, and eventually some traders will consider you for the escrow role (a vast trading history of your own can't be bad either, as I skimmed it, you got close to none).
Don't run after it, if your service is needed, people will come asking themselves. You can start from that point.

And how much in fees do escrows usually get per trade?
Believe me, if you're taking any kind of fee, you gonna have a hard time kicking it off.

What kind of trades do people usually want here?  BTC to Neteller/Paypal?  Altcoin trades?
A new/unexperienced escrow juming into PayPal trades? What could possibly go wrong.

If you don't know, the first one was asking how to get in a good signature campaign as I posted here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1498626.0
It wasn't easy at first, and I had to prove to the managers that I am worthy enough to get in. And thankfully, I got in very good signature campaign.
Ewh, one could argue about that. But it would take this whole thing Off-topic.

Ok cool.  I will start doing some small trades and will look into it when I'm ready.  Thanks for all of the advice everyone.

Hi guys.

I want start another adventure here at Bitcointalk.

Ros of Betcoin is really great.  Props to him.

Now I am seeking advice on how I can become an escrower.  Where do I start and how do I gain the people's trust?

I'm also hoping this thread will be helpful not just to me, but for the other readers as well.  Thanks.
Start by building your reputation in here. Gather trust form trades.
Start small and get big. Provethat you hae all good intention here in the forum and once you proved yourself, it should be easy to say that you are reputable enough.

What kind of trades do people usually want here?  BTC to Neteller/Paypal?  Altcoin trades?

You can start escrowing small amounts for now.

How small is 'small' in escrows exactly?  And how much in fees do escrows usually get per trade?
11988  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recommend me a signature campaign [AKA How to get in a sig campaign] on: July 06, 2016, 06:30:42 AM
Yup.  I finally got accepted, but I'm under probation though...  So I must be careful on my posts.  But I think it's a good thing overall as Bitcointalk has pretty much evolved from a message board to a commerce board somewhat.  The things we take for granted like reputation and quality posts really matters a lot around here.  I wish I maintained my post quality all throughout and increased the value of my account.  It's amazing how a simple forum could evolve like this all thanks to Bitcoin.

Maybe one day I ought to write a "Newbies Guide to Bitcointalk".  Smiley

Good thing about Betcoin signature is they pay rate, much much higher than bitbuku campaign, but you should post quality posts while you are wearing their signature, I see the majority of its users speak english well making it look like a really good signature with really good posters, different from the one I am in which is fully populated by persons with broken english and make it look miserable in the eyes of many. Betcoin pays monthly a really big minus compared to Yobit which pays daily, thats why I will never leave yobit even when I will be sr member and above. Better a fewer payrate per post, but steady daily payments for me.

The funny thing is now that I'm in a sig campaign, I'm more conscious about the quality of my posts and have been posting less instead of maximizing the opportunity.  I guess that's a good thing overall for me as I spend more reading than posting nonsense.  Smiley

As for people who want to get in signature campaigns, I advice you to make quality posts and add good content for the forum.  If you have any questions, just feel free to ask away in the thread.

After all, this thread has become a thread where people did debate about quality posts. They can just read the replies in here. If they were having problems with the quality of their posts, they should try to learn the various things about bitcoins first. Because if they don't, their posts will mostly end with questions.

Yup.  Definitely a must for this forum.  But it would also help to talk about stuff in real life that you're into.  Like sports, politics, economics...  Anything under the sun really.  I have recently discovered that all the stuff I'm into, like football, F1 and MMA are talked about mostly in the gambling section (of all places).  It's surprising because I expected them to be found in the off-topic section.

11990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 200: Cormier vs. Jones 2 on: July 06, 2016, 06:06:55 AM

I totally disagree. Cormier lost unanimously. It was pretty clear Jon got the best of him in that fight. Even Daniel admits this.

Maybe this time if Cormier can't knockout or submit Jones maybe now he can get the nod from the judges. As you have stated he lost unanimously but that gives him the advantage of knowing how Jones fight and maybe he was able to study his weakness since its almost a close fight that others think Cormier won on UFC 182 with Jones.

Two fights ago he beat Daniel Cormier into the ground. I don't see any of this stuff being in Cormier's favor except maybe the healthy Cain thing, though I don't remember if he was or wasn't healthy last time these guys fought. If anything, the best thing in Cormier favor is Jones maybe still having some cage rust.

I don't think it was ring rust that made Jones not perform to 100% of his potential.  I think it was his cardio.  If you notice during the fight vs OSP, he was already getting tired starting the 4th round.  But as far as his tools are concerned, they looked ok.  Although not as sharp as his previous fights, but still good overall.

Also, this could be a strategic move by Jones.  By not showing 100% of what he's capable of, maybe he could get Cormier off guard during the fight.  Remember Jones has been doing some heavy lifting lately. I wouldn't be surprised if played Cormier in his own game and started throwing and slamming him down the mat.
11991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to Altcoin need help! on: July 06, 2016, 02:09:05 AM
Hey all Im new to altcoin and was seeing if anybody could point me the right way or if anybody else that was new wanted to go a skype group w/ me and we could toss ideas off each other.....

Here are the questions I have so far
1. Bittrex the best exchange to use?

Personally I prefer Poloniex as there's more volume and some of the 'hotter' or 'in' altcoins are being traded there or want to be listed there.

Quote
2. How to tell is an altcoin is a scam?

This is what I think.  Some projects at the start, mean well and really want to create something innovative and ground breaking.  But something happens along the way that maybe what they're trying to achieve is technically impossible, and the fact that most of them hide this from the public make them labeled as scams.  And rightly so, as this could be considered something like false advertising of a broken product.

While others are outright scams from the start you just know it, no joke.

Quote
3. Are my coins safe on a site like bittrex or do I need to cold store them & how do u do that if its not bitcoin?

Don't store you coins in an exchange.  Download the wallet of your respective coin and store it there.

Quote
4. How do I find out about new coins coming out or is it best to buy coins that have been out and r more trusted?

I personally don't like buying into ICO's.  I wait for the coins to get listed, observe how well they do, then make a trade if they breakout.

Quote
5. What to look for with selecting a coin to buy?

High volume and liquidity.

Quote
Ive never really traded stocks or anything so if anybody has tips links or other useful info send it my way!

Google is your friend.  There are lots of trading articles online.

Quote
And is Bittrex the best exchange to use?
Cheers

Nope.  Poloniex is at the moment.  But this changes from time to time.  The altcoin scene is very dynamic.

got another rumours today

- Man city wants Leroy Sane from Schalke with the prices £40 millions
- Arsenal wants Everton player Romelu Lukaku and Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon
- Jose Mourinho interested to bring Paul Pogba from Juventus and they will offering prices £80 millions

bold - last 2 years offers and money clubs are asking for are just simply getting ridiculous. completely insane

Blame the money clubs, namely Barca, Real, United, etc...  and lately Man City.  They have been the inflating price of the transfers.

I am not sure why you put United on that list - only big signing they had (in last 5 years) was Di Maria (and it was a stupid one, and they kinda "had" to buy somebody)

Thinking back about it, yeah you're right.  But I would like to point out Memphis Depay's transfer fee is also too expensive considering the quality they got.  How much did United spend total under LVG?

Quote
There are only 3 clubs actually inflating prices in last 3-4 years - Man City, Chelsea, and PSG.

Add Real and Barca to that list.  I know there'll be more future Bales and the Neymars with crazy transfer fees coming.  The price of football is getting crazier and higher.  Sure they got the quality they paid for.  But the prices are way inflated compared to 20 years ago.

Yeah Depay's fee was high, I agree, but i think everybody was expecting a lot from the guy, especially after the World Cup when he played well.
(im glad LVG is gone haha)

Would you agree (to some extent) that Bale's and Neymar's (and Suarez) transfer fees are kinda justified? Meaning them being in top5-6 players in the world?

With today's standards, sure, it's justified only because those are the prices for them in the market.  But do you think the Bales and the Neymars of 20 years ago would cost 80M - 100M British Pounds?  No right?  20 years ago people wouldn't think transfer fees would reach these crazy levels.

They inflated the market and people are making money out of this.  Namely the agents.

Quote
I am more annoyed with clubs paying big bucks for some (lets say) unknown names... like 30M for Sane.

That's a prime example of inflating the price. Then when he performs well, sell him for a much bigger price.

The players have somewhat become a commodity.
11993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 05, 2016, 07:54:55 PM
Who do you guys think that is going to win the EPL next year because many team are rebuilding at the moment and searching for new players.
Do you guys think that Man Utd will be a title contender again because they have bought some players but I do not know all of them.

duo manchester , city and united batle champion epl candidate seeded. coch high quality, squad high quality,
develop and rebuilding team, buy new squad team

Yup, United and City are the favored to win the league.  City has a slight edge over United though.  3rd and 4th would be Arsenal then Chelsea respectively but it's really close.  In the fringes of top 4 would be Tottenham and Liverpool.  Don't count those two out to get into top 4.

Brock Lesnar lacks serious experience in the professional circuit, he is just a WWE actor,

Frank Mir will disagree.  Grin

Watch the fight here.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TubJH4IMl54

Quote
that's not real fighting, Mark Hunt has more experience in the octagon. I think Brock Lesnar has to rely on his huge muscles and wrestling skills to try to neutralize Mark Hunt, or he may get knocked out quick.

Lesnar is a freak of nature.  He's athleticism surpasses most fighters in the UFC heavy weight division.  So I won't take Lesnar lightly.  But that said, Lesnar's weakness is his cardio.  If he doesn't KO Hunt on the 1st or 2nd round, he's chances of winning goes down as the fight moves to the 3rd - 5th rounds.

Anyway, watch the weigh ins this weekend and see how Lesnar will tower over Hunt.  People don't realize this, but this fight might be a coin flip.  So go bet on the underdog.

bottom line is here that currently best managers are in premiership will this effect the rest of Europe team answer Yes
Believe that this season will English clubs take CL and EL maybe both Manchester team City and United

DOnt put your hope too high on mourinho , guardiola might win the Champions league with city however mourinho will probably cause some chaos for the team. I was kinda got the feelings that he is destroying great talent with so many unnecessary new players that is coming to old trafford or will be coming

New manager, new squad.  There will always be a transition happening especially when you have someone like Mourinho coming in.  Imagine if Pep went to Man United, I think the club will have to endure a bigger transition moving forward if it was him.  One big reason why people think Mourinho could cause 'chaos' within the club is because he's arrogant and brash.  And that he's like a ticking time bomb.  But really he's one of the best football minds of the modern game.

Also Paul Pogba updated odds for club after summer window.

Man United 4/7
Real Madrid 5/2
Juventus 3/1

Looks like Man United are closing in on him.  Mourinho is really doing an excellent job this summer.

Instead of pogba, they should just sign either griezman or payet . Pogba is just an overrated midfielder and so far I havent seen him contributed anything meaningful for france in euro, unlike payet and griezman as both of this two players is the main key of france success so far in the euro

i hope deal and going to Manchester united, is real pogba to joint manchester maybe squad is
4-2-3-1 , striker is ibrahimovic, 3 midfield attack wayne roney, is to winger anthony martial and Mkhitaryan , 2 defense midfielder swatineger and pogba, and maybe machester united must buy center back high quality star

Yeah.  There were speculations that this could be Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid.  I don't know what kind of relationship he has with Mourinho as that would matter a lot in my opinion given their history.  But I would like to see that happen.

I think Cormier should be studying his own weakness in order to have a chance to win because let's face it, Jones is younger, faster, more athletic and the better fighter overall.  So instead of looking for a weakness playing an exploitative game, why not discover the holes in his own game, plug and close them then play a game theory optimal game vs Jones?  It will be a boring fight sure but Cormier is the champion, if Jones wants the belt make him work for it.

I know Pogba's price tag is steep but you're joking right?  You're comparing apples and oranges here.  Man United needs a good holding midfielder in Pogba.  Both Payet and Griezman play as attackers.

And you haven't seen Pogba contribute anything meaningful?  Are you even watching the games?  His influence in the midfield is really great.  Imagine if he wasn't playing...  Other teams would dominate them in the midfield.
