121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need help on how to build a farm on: June 10, 2017, 07:50:23 AM
how many money you have to invest? look no further than a antminer s9, tell us more about your electriciyt, but with current profit you should be safe evene at 20 cent

you probably need an air cooling system that is efficient, to remove the heat, you probably need a correct place for your miner, and you need to by PSU unit to power all these stuff

if you want to mine altcoin see the altcoinsection, which is more remunerative now than mining bitcoin directly

Maybe try water cooling and DC PS?
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet for many different cryptos? on: June 10, 2017, 07:43:13 AM
I think if you are starting and want to get your feet wet in Crypto Exodus is an easy way to start, it has Shapeshift on board so you can exchange your crypto in the same app Smiley

This reminds me of the Lambo - ETH calculator

Right now 1250 ETH = 1 Lambo
124  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Removing the nonce field for ASIC resistance and preventing selfish mining. on: June 10, 2017, 07:20:00 AM
I think the problem with selfish mining have to be analyzed from another perspective. I believe the real problem is the centralization of Hash Power in an Elite group of users, by implementing memory-bound proof-of-work algorithms, ASIC or GPU advantage will be insignificant which leads to a better distribution of Hash Power. You may want to look at our approach at Nimiq for bringing true decentralization to Cryptocurrencies.

126  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Bitcoin vs Bancos on: June 10, 2017, 06:26:59 AM
Es un poco off topic, pero bueno...  Tongue

127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Should I invest in GPU mining? on: June 10, 2017, 06:24:06 AM
Have thought of mining also some other Crypto at the same time to increase profitability. Like SiaCoin for example.

129  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: If ECDSA is ever cracked/exploited/quantum computed ? on: June 10, 2017, 05:44:58 AM
I'll be honest if people are able to figure out how to crack today's asymmetric crypto (elliptic curve, discrete log, or otherwise), the least of your issues will be the price of BTC.  You'll probably be more concerned with your online traffic being captured and pretty much every login to online banking systems or other exploitable secret information being exposed.

You're right in pointing out that it probably would destroy BTC, but that wouldn't seem so bad compared to all the other issues

Agree with this guy, I'll render everything we know regarding digital security useless.

Any bounty for this project dev?

Not just yet, but we plan on doing so soon. Please subscribe to our channels above to be uptaded when we do.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nimiq - A Browser-based Blockchain on: June 10, 2017, 04:39:59 AM
When is the plan to get this into an exchange? It's already a better project then hundreds of coins on Yobit. And if it's browser-mineable, it will keep getting movement there.

You can check our roadmap in our Webpage or the Introducing the Browser-based Blockchain blog post. Token Sale is scheduled for this month, you can follow us on Twitter, Medium or Youtube to be updated with official announcements.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nimiq - A Browser-based Blockchain on: June 10, 2017, 04:19:37 AM
OP has the time to reply to easy comments but have no time to explain how Nimiq is going to stop miners from writing optimised C code to mine nimiq instead of depending on a browser.

Sorry about that, we have been busy implementing some new features in our Betanet, probably missed your post.

Nimiq is designed to be Browser-based but not Browser-only. We want people to improve hashrates with custom clients. Even though is a cool feature, Browser-based mining is not the most important one in the Nimiq Network. We think the most important feature is that browsers can connect to the network and send and verify transactions without a trusted third party or installation of additional software.

There are existing extensions for coins like Ethereum that does exactly the same, like Metamask. What would be the difference? Metamask harcoded to the blockchain, so what?

Just trying to get the vision behind the project.

Visit our Betanet to experience the difference!

Nimiq is the first Blockchain designed for simplicity. Its core values are ease-of-use, scalability and speed. There are a lot of differences with any dApp as Nimiq is not a dApp but a Blockchain designed from scratch with this core values in mind. Nimiq aims to tackle the main problems that inhibit mass adoption of Blockchain technologies:

  • It is Browser-based to lower barriers of entry for both users and developers (no installation is required)
  • We are implementing the Mini-Blockchain scheme to accomplish dramatically low sync data of roughly MBs (unlike Bitcoin or Ethereum where you need to download around 100 GB to establish consensus with the network ).
  • We plan to use HTLC contracts in our Mainnet to enable secure off-chain transactions that will result in extremely low fees and nearly instant transaction times.

You can read all about it in our Introductory Medium Post.

Very far behind in every aspect as Internet just helped information era bloom.
134  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happen to butterfly labs? on: June 10, 2017, 01:44:13 AM
They maybe started with good purpose but after a while the see all the orders falling like rain and most of them in BTC, of course the run away with BTC in pocket in my personal opinion..

Totally agreed, I owned two Butterfly Labs miners and they worked fine, at the start they seemed totally legit. Probably some bad decisions and greedy people let the company rot from the inside.
135  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [10.7kW SOLAR/WIND] NastyMining Green Energy Project on: June 10, 2017, 12:52:00 AM
OgNasty, How noisy is this setup? Dangerous for birds? How is the Neighbor acceptance factor?

Not noisy at all.  The wind has to be blowing hard to even hear a 'whooshing' sound when standing right next to it.  My pool waterfall is louder and the exhaust vents from my mining operation are MUCH louder.

The neighbors seem to like it so far.  It's fun to watch.

Dangerous to birds is a bit of a positive side effect as they are afraid of it (I'll update if we have any injuries).  I've had issues with pigeons using my grotto waterfall as a bird bath, and my decorative owl only scares them away about 1/3 of the time (the hawks in the field behind my house do a better job).  I have yet to see a pigeon near the turbine since it's installation so that has been a noticeable benefit.

As a bit of a side note, my home is located on the path of an annual bat migration.  I enjoy watching them fly past my backyard.  I suspect their echolocation will protect them from going near the turbine, but I will keep my eye open for injured bats and pigeons.  If the turbine does injure a bat, I will explore methods for providing them protection.

Is is nice that you care about the entire ecological impact and not just pollution  Wink
136  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are we over complicating Bitcoin? on: June 10, 2017, 12:01:07 AM
I think Bitcoin is a great piece of technology that introduced us to Blockchains and we should see it that way, using bitcoin regarding it's limitations is inefficient and eventually the Market will found out about that.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nimiq - A Browser-based Blockchain on: June 09, 2017, 08:45:07 PM
what do you mean "browser-based blockchain" - your blockchain is not based on a browser. are you going to develop a web browser? what's the roadmap and timeline of that?

It means that it is designed to run natively in your browser without aditional installation thus reducing technological barrier for newcomers to Crypto. Nimiq is not Browser-only you can connect to the Nimiq Network using your browser but you can also install a client using NodeJs, what we call a Backbone Nodes.
138  Other / Meta / Re: Where is Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcointalk Profile? on: June 09, 2017, 08:22:07 PM
I don't think that he had a profile on this forum. I don't say it's impossibe just doesn't seem to me very likely that person like Satoshi, the visionaires and inovators would  be writing and spending time on forums.
Yes he did. The last time he logged in was on 2010 but here is his profile link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3

His account is also probably blocked for any attempt of login to avoid the account being hacked, so the real Satoshi would need to proof it's really him to some admin before having his account back.

Wow that's actually very cool!
139  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Windows or Linux for Wallet Software? on: June 09, 2017, 10:25:45 AM
Linux for every aspect: security, ease of installation and future-proof.
140  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Reason to Hold Gold And Bitcoin on: June 09, 2017, 09:03:41 AM
Gold or bitcoin are both the same form of investment that is very good and very profitable.
I think if we can invest gold or bitcoin. It will be a huge investment in the long run.
i think gold is good for saving. while bitcoin is good for investment. in fact most of the people have no idea about bitcoin and therefore they are giving preference to gold and they want to save their money in some trusted place and to them gold is more trusted to for saving money. but i am sure that when they will start knowing about the importance of bitcoin they will withdraw their money from gold and will invest here n bitcoin for increasing their investment.
Gold is good for saving it is true but just think if a person will save his money in bitcoin then it will bring double profit to that person because he will save his money and at the same time he will earn profit with that saving when the price of bitcoin will increase.
People do not realize that Gold been around for a very long time and Bitcoin just began placing its foot into the currency game. People also should realize that once the dollar gets cheaper or once more people want Gold the price of Gold will move much faster than how the volatility of Bitcoin is right now.

Gold has no intrinsic value besides it's scarcity. BTC and Crypto hold the value of having the potencial of changing the paradigm of world economics.
