Hi,

I'm enjoying the multibit client on windows 7 and see the development in 0.5.9 - close wallet, add password etc.  - all good.

As i've donated, i think i'm ok to point a couple of things out - observations, rather than judgements - i should stress that i'm an end user - i have no tech/programming knowledge at all...

When exporting private keys, it might be an idea to say 'Export To...' rather than 'Choose Export File' - as it's the destination that you're choosing - again i should say i'm not tekky so it was a bit confusing to see that - made me stop and wonder for a minute what was being asked for...

The other thing has been raised before, which is the currency ticker not displaying GBP for MtGox - as i'm in the UK it would be nice to see this as a quick reference in my national currency...

All in all though a great client - looking forward to any new developments you have coming...

I'm using multibit 0.5.9 in windows 7 64bit and like various developments such as 'add password' ,'close wallet', and running the whole thing from a memory stick -and as i've donated to the project,  i think it allows me to mention a couple of things about it...

the currency ticker for mtgox doesn't work - i can use others, like btc-e but would like mtgox in GBP as i'm in the UK...

when exporting private keys, it's a little bit confusing to say 'choose export file' - i think it should just say 'export to...' as it's the destination that you're choosing rather than the file to export...

not a judgemental thing on my part, i'm just interested in seeing this client develop further as i like it...

p2p decentralized exchange is best.. i am waiting for it

sounds intruiging, how far/close is it to fruition...?
127  Other / Beginners & Help / need for more btc exchanges... on: May 05, 2013, 01:22:31 AM
Am i right in thinking that the volatility in btc is because of the near monopoly that MtGox exchange has over the bitcoin market ?

When there is an attack, or some kind of disruption at the Tokyo exhange, the price varies, sometimes wildly, as we have seen in the last month particularly...

It seems to me that a network based, decentralised currency also needs a diverse network of exchanges to manage it, so that any disruption at one, or even several exchanges, cannot distort the broader trade/market of btc significantly, thereby allowing it to stabilise, and develop to the next level of penetration and price...

Any thoughts on this...?
128  Other / Beginners & Help / updating multibit 0.4.23 on: May 01, 2013, 12:51:18 AM
hi,

i'm currently using multibit 0.4.23 and have just read that a new version is available to download - my question is, will i have to import the private key on my 0.4.23 wallet when i install the new multibit client ? or will the wallet simply show up in the new version ?

any advice/info appreciated,

steve.
