121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: October 22, 2017, 09:12:08 PM
I maintain that per these definitions, Bitcoin cannot possibly be described as "money". And further, I think that those who do describe Bitcoin as "money" are doing this community a disservice.

+1 agreed.  It's a commodity, a digital store of value.

You could say that since bitcoin can be use as an medium of exchange,I cosider bitcoin as money you can make transactions online buy things and get services and do trade as well as invest. So we can cosider it as money.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving Bitcoins for your Children. on: October 22, 2017, 09:18:02 AM
Keeping other physical asset for your children is very easy but storing bitcoin for your children is very risky because the wallet may be hacked before your children grow to maturity so it needs a high level of security consciousness.

Yes, it could be risky but we also need to do that for their future. All we can do to protect the account not to be hacked is that, save it to the private accounts that your children can open it when they grow up. But you will only tell them if they already reached the maturity age because if you inform them while they are still very young, they might shared the information to their friends.

I agree It can be risky but I have faith with bitcoin, it can be all the solution to your financial problem as well to secure the future of my children, storing bitcoin for their future is a good idea it is just like having time deposit.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: October 22, 2017, 09:04:58 AM
I've just thought about this for a moment but, if we want bitcoin to get more popularity, attention or acceptance would it be nice to make some advertisement about it on T.V.? I don't know if in other countries they advertise bitcoin but in my country, I haven't seen one. How do you think advertising bitcoin will affect the people? Any thoughts?

I think it is a good idea to advertise bitcoin through television so more people will be aware, but I think it is not possible in other countries because it is not legal. But I usually see bitcoin advertisement in other social media like facebook, twitter and short articles about BTC.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Cashout BitCoins? on: October 21, 2017, 04:27:15 AM
In my country we cash out bitcoin through our wallet which we can encash through banks or the famous seven eleven  Wink
I personally I perfer not to encash my bitcoin I am investing it with bitcon also and checking my BTC from time to time and bitcon dont fail me because my bitcoin is increasing everytime I check it. That why I dont cashout my BTC,it is really my investment for my future.

But in case of emergecy it is very easy here to encash your bitcoin through banks.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: October 21, 2017, 02:29:25 AM
It seems that experts say that Bitcoin 'Here to Stay,' But Banks Could Disappear.

"TheStreet: How do you think FinTech will impact the way banks operate?

Frank Schwab: Banks either react on, or they will disappear. Anyway, the consolidation of the banking industry accelerates as the behaviour of people changes. Some banks will benefit from [FinTech], some will be pushed to the back end, and some will disappear."
http://www.thestreet.com/story/13419089/1/bitcoin-here-to-stay-but-banks-could-disappear-says-fintech-expert.html

What's your read on that?

It can happen. I work in the bank for ten years, knowing the concept of the bank, the financial background also if all the people will be using bitcoin it is possible that banks will disappear because banks are just like a middle person with money and the account holders, compare to bitcoin if we can just acess our account in just one click. And pay your bills also with it.
126  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is an asset or currency. on: October 21, 2017, 02:21:32 AM
I hear from many sources that btc is used for trading much more than it is for goods and services; doesn't that make it an asset ??
and is that necessarily a bad thing ?? and what can we do about it as a community ??
It is both because currency because you can buy or trade with bitcoin. And according to merriam webster dictionary currency is
a : circulation as a medium of exchange
b : general use, acceptance, or prevalence a story gaining currency
c : the quality or state of being current : currentness needed to check the accuracy and currency of the information

It have a same concept as bitcoin. While it can also be consider as an asset because through time the value of bitcoin will not only double. I have so much high hopes with bitcoin.
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: October 20, 2017, 02:58:04 PM
Bitcoin as a course or any related currency on web.
In my country we have multiple courses in computer especially programing and web developments. My course is also information technology, but i've never heard or learn about online currency as bitcoin. In present, and future studies is there any chances for inserting about it in education. In your country is it available?
It would be better for any country to adopt bitcoin in educating new generations. Instead of playing games and wasting money in surfing xxx sites.

It is really a nice idea of teaching bitcoin in collge or adding subject about bitcoin so everyone will have an idea about bitcoin and how it is being used, since the youngs are the new hope for our future, we should also teach them the proper way to use bitcoin. Since bitcoin is the money of the new era.

129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Era or just bubble ? on: October 19, 2017, 10:38:41 PM
Will crypto-currency change the Worl or it's just a new way of  robbery?

BTC is the new era and the lord among digital money, since it is the modern world we need to consider also a new way to pay our bills, or how we transact with our business, almost all are digital so It is likey that money will also be digital since money is one of the important things in life. And with digital money if it will be used worldwide it will unify all the currencies.

It shouldn't be consider a form of robbery because you can control your money.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: October 19, 2017, 10:26:45 PM
This is pretty much the whole story right here...

Quote
" NIFA official Li Lihui told a technology conference in Shanghai on Friday that a goal of China’s monetary regulation is to ensure that “the source and destination of every piece of money can be tracked.” "

Bitcoin is the mortal enemy of 'tracking'.  Therefore China is going to continue to assault Bitcoin from every angle.  You can be sure of that.

The government of china might really hate bitcoin because they cannot monitor the  money where it will be used since china would like to know where the monetary funds are coming from, they only like financial institution necausr it is being run by the government.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should people use Bitcoin? on: October 18, 2017, 10:56:18 PM
Bitcoin is the future of money, or so they say.

I would like to hear your opinions on Why should people use Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is really soaring high in terms of profit and since bitcoin is being known worldwide its value doubled. Bitcoin Also is a source of income, you can also invest and do trade.
132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: interest in bitcoin is increasing on: October 18, 2017, 11:42:24 AM
why they cant accept...they can start accepting bitcoins...is bitoin's value so much less in today's market??

Maybe in the near future they will accept bitcoin as a mode of payment if you will shop online. In the near  future bitcoin will be the used. As of today the value of bitcoin increases more likely by 300 percent, and you can easily search bitcoin that why the interest of the people increases.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be hacked? on: October 18, 2017, 11:30:48 AM
No, it isn't.

It is impossible to hacked bitcoin, the concept behind bitcoin is what I like the most the privacy behind bitcoin. So it is really imposibe ti hacked or be stolen
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving Bitcoins for your Children. on: October 17, 2017, 11:10:03 PM
I made a paper wallet for my son and I deposit a smaller amount of Bitcoins there every month. I kept it in a secret place that only me and another person knows.

That is a very smart thing to do! Kudos to you, It really seems that you really love your children. Because saving for your children with bitcoin it's like buying stocks, or gold. The only thing with bitcoin that the value will increase every year no doubt about it.since bitcoin is being known worldwide.
135  Economy / Speculation / Re: what you think about bitcoin in like 5 years? on: October 17, 2017, 11:03:36 PM
bitcoin is five years time in my opinion there will be a lot of hard forks from the original bitcoin blockchain and the value of bitcoin would increase by 300 percent today's price. if transaction's speed and price remains the same, bitcoin's not improving and maybe the price wont grow that much

With bitcoin am very much optimistic that it would increase it's value not only double tha value. And since bitcoin is first in the market it is likely to stay for a very very long time, because it is the new era and with bitcoin is the new fiat.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What impresses you the most about Bitcoin? on: October 17, 2017, 11:45:54 AM
I know a lot of people have different reason why the love and embrace bitcoin.
For me the decentralized nature of bitcoin and the thought of being able to send coins to anybody in any part of the word, no third party, no regulation(specific amount), no bullshit is mind blowing.

The first thing that really impresses me about bitcoin is that the amount of bitcoin how easy it is to earn and invest, investing with bitcoin is also direct,no taxes required. And if you are an investor you can really see to if that you will have financial freedom! That is the main reason why I am really focuse with bitcoin. Not even my day job will I be earning this much.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a currency or asset? on: October 17, 2017, 11:34:10 AM
Bitcoin’s very volatile prices have reignited the debate about its usefulness as a currency or as an asset. In some ways, Bitcoin suits the definition of currency quite adequately but if the volatility is less. It allows for the creation of secure and transparent transactions. Thus, can be used as a secondary currency in future. Some of the experts have huge concerns over its volatility. But, sooner or later the prices may remain less volatile as of today.

I have mentioned few points about Bitcoin as a currency or as an asset in my article here: https://atozforex.com/news/is-bitcoin-a-currency-or-asset/

What's your opinion about BTC as a currency or an asset?

Suggestions and comments appreciated  Smiley Wink

Well for me you could consider is as currency and asset as well. Because you can buy things online  or convert it anytime. As an  asset for the fact that if you are going to keep your bitcoin and wait of a while that the value of bitcoin will increase it is just like investing in a  stock market.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep your bitcoins? on: October 16, 2017, 09:27:28 PM
I have all my coins in on an online trading site (paxful) (low volume)

I plan on making a large investment very soon, and want to safely store all of my coins
I.E I basically want to drop a couple thousand, and keep them in the safest possible way, where I can revisit them in 5-10 years or so and reap the benefits, or cry about the loss.

What is the best way to do this, and what's the best way of ensuring a backup?

How do you currently store your coins

thanks in advance for any inputs

I store my bitcoin in a wallet is the safest way to store your bitcoin, and you can easily convert it in a fiat it the value of bitcoin is not stable and if its high again put it back in bitcoin. That's how I store my bitcoin.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans with your Bitcoin? on: October 16, 2017, 08:54:26 PM

140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin the most popular cryptocurrency? on: October 16, 2017, 02:56:27 PM
I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made. Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?

Bitcoin is the most popular in terms of cryptocurreny, since it is the first in the market it is more likely to stay forever. And in the new era  bitcoin is the new techlonogy. And bitcoin is very transparent and very easy to use.
