Also of interest in his trust rating - Steamboat left negative feedback on someone who he claims stole 1.5 BTC from him. In that thread, Steamboat posted the guy's photo ID and a snapshot of himself the guy obviously sent him. For some reason that really pisses me off! Steamboat posted this guys photo ID on the internet for stealing what was then less than $60.00 U.S. Then he turns around and pulls this shit on us?!

The event and timeline Cardcomm references really interested me, so here is a quick overview:

March 12th, 2013 loan sent from Steamboat to guy in the amount of BTC1.5.  Repayment amount BTC2.
Loan Due March 19th in full.
March 19th, loan not repaid.
March 21st, guy asks for extension.  Steamboat Agrees.
Loan still BTC1.5, but repayment is now BTC3.28.
Back and forth for several weeks.
April 8th, 2013 Steamboat advises loan in 'default'
April 15th, 2013, Steamboat threatens to release info onto internet in two days if not repaid.
April 19th, 2013, info released.  (Drivers license and Self-Photo to prove hes real to Steamboat)
April 22nd, 2013, Steamboat publicly decides its not worth harassing his friends and family over the lost BTC

May 1st, 2013, This thread and Liquid Synergy Designs are born.  Maybe he has a nice mansion in a USA-extradition exempt country.  I'd love to see pictures of it.

Lets assume we do have his information, that is nothing compared to those 5 things that are listed above that John K has.  After all the reason we trust John K as the escrow is that if Steamboat fails to deliver, that info is on the internet... forever!
125  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: January 05, 2014, 07:46:28 PM
I've done a little digging, and i think we are burned.

John K's agreement was to hold steamboats information up until the chips arrived.  After that, he would destroy his records of steamboat.  I think he Free and Clear!

I will wait for this...
Update:

...we have chosen to lock the rate to that of Sept. 11th, the day we announced we would be accepting assembly refund requests, in order to attempt to help ease the BTC losses of our customers. The exchange rate will be $126.61 per BTC, based on the price history of Coinbase.

Thats not going to happen as the only option he has is to mine with them.  Although at 5g thats not really gonna do much.  Current calculators are showing its $1.70 a month or 0.0021 BTC a day.

Lets take bets, our refund or BFL's monarch shipping, which is first?

I bet you...    .000135 BTC that our refunds will come first!!!   Cheesy

I'll take you up on that Stringchains... i'll send ya a PM when its time to pay up  Grin

I would have preferred something honest like this

"Hey guys, after all is said and done... due to the delays of avalon chips and the paid assembly workers, facility, etc... Here are the options available:

1) Full Refund of chips at today's BTC with NO Refunds of Hosting/Assembly/Shipping as these were spent on the above due to the delays.

2) Ship your completed miners when the chips arrive.

I know this is not optimal, but at here is an honest/open communication" Date: September 11, 2013, 10:11:14 AM
129  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: December 20, 2013, 01:17:55 AM
dang, i'm glad i requested my miners to be shipped as is once the option was available.  If I was still waiting on refunds of any kind at this point I would be livid.

Who knew that sending refunds was more difficult then testing miners, packing miners and shipping miners.  Boy did we choose wrong  Grin

Im not sure if I have seen an answer to this but I guess its important its asked.

Since China is essentially cracking down on Bitcoin exchanges, and since blackarrow is a chinese company... from one report I saw business' have until jan 31st to comply.

Do we know if this will have any impact on the ability to pay for and receive miners??
131  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: December 15, 2013, 09:58:51 PM

All I'm saying is pitchforks come out.  Steamboat makes an appearance.  We all are happy.  Then we get agitated with no action.  Repeat cycle.

For some, this is acceptable, others not.  I was previously in the acceptable phase...  I was under the false assumption that the assembly refunds were a lengthy process until i did a little scooby doo research.  I get that people are assholes and those who were not part of the G.B. submit requests for "their" chips/assembly/hosting when they don't deserve it just to cloud up his records and to potentially "score". I have not seen any legimate G.B. from the point of refunds announced to actually getting them exceed 2 weeks.

I know there was a risk going in this G.B. as if we could make a killing with Avalon chips prior to the heavy hitters coming online. We obviously lost due to Avalon delays, steamboat made the best out of it he could so far since he went far above and beyond with getting all aspects of the production/parts/assembly/hosting/manpower ready before the chips arrived.  He created real miners with Avalon chips as promised.  Heavily involved with the Klondike project.  All of that I believe deserves some real respect/kudos.  I totally respect him for this.

However I am stumped as refunds for assembly seem to beyond his current scope?
132  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: December 13, 2013, 10:22:49 PM
I hate to agree, but it would be cool to have my bitcoins back so i can do stuff with them.

I was doing some research and other group buys who have failed have returned the bitcoins fairly quickly.
EDIT: removed time waiting
133  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: December 08, 2013, 02:44:28 PM
Im wondering if it might be better for those of us who have requested a refund to actually get our miner built.  This way we can hopefully mine with it and attempt to sell it for USD.

Steamboats delivered on the miners, just not on the refunds for assembly/hosting/etc.

The price per shares gone up.  Are we expecting them to stay the same, or is it matching the price of the black arrows current 15% discount for pre-purchase?

When is this group buy expected to close... Feb 2014?

We have access to a lot of BA miners thanks to bobsag3 and the success of R9-12. If someone wanted to buy several x-3's we can accommodate them for this round.

Thanks to co-op feedback (yes, we listen, may take a bit because setting up a new biz takes time): In most DZ MCs we now limit - by gentleman's agreement - any one miner rig owner from owning more than 25% of an ASIC miner rigs ownership.

Im not sure if i am reading this correctly.  We can purchase one directly through the group buy and shipped to us?  Or we are limited to only 25% of the shares in the X-3?
140  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: November 17, 2013, 11:27:02 PM
....

TL;DR

If the only payment method is Bitcoins, expect Bitcoins in return.  If you paid in cash, expect to get cash in return.
