129  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S1 support and OverClocking thread on: October 21, 2014, 08:35:39 PM
It looks like the main board on my s1 fried during a power cycle. However the second board still powers on. Is there a way I can wire the second board from one s1 to be a 3rd blade on a different s1? Or is there anyway I can salvage the secondary s1 board to still get some use out of it? The main board has the "brains" and network connections and stuff so the second board is kind of useless by itself...
130  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S2 Support and Overclocking Thread on: August 01, 2014, 11:37:35 AM
Guys, please make this clear - have you achieved more hashing power (stable long-term h.p. both at miner's and pool's side with normal reject/discarded/stale/HW rate) after S2 overclocking or not?..  Huh Also - what firmware do you use, what clocks have you set?

I will today replace 2 big fans with Noctua NF-A14 PWM (to see whether it will work more quiet having the same temperature), replace PSU with Chieftec 1250 W and try to OC it.  Tongue

Mine runs silent. I swapped my fans for 8x Prolimatech PRO-BV14 which are only 18dba. Akasa makes a higher CFM fan at 24dba which might be better but I'm not sure how loud that would be. I pointed all 4 side case fans inward and removed the case and put the other 4 directly on top of the boards to blow the hot air upwards. My max temp is 53c

Downside to using kano firmware is it overwrites all configurations files every reboot. Which makes the pools point back to his. I had deleted all the pools and only put in mine as the first and then last night after 24+ hours of running I noticed one of kano's pools got written into the second slot again and it was mining for him for a couple hours. I don't know what happened; could have just been a 1 time glitch/bug.

I tried just installing his version of cgminer 4.3.5 onto the original firmware but it gets overwritten back to 3.10 when it reboots.
132  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 【SOLD OUT】The last Batch of AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner, Now $1595 per unit on: July 25, 2014, 06:25:23 PM
One of my boards has 16 bad chips. Does anyone know if this is replaceable or is it still within standards? I tried e-mailing info@bitmaintech.com last week but never got a response. I never get the full 1 Th/s I'm usually at 970 Gh/s then it will creep down to 930 Gh/s.

The weird thing is that when I do a full power off and turn the s2 back on it will show all chips working for 12-24 hours then the first 16 chips on the board turn to x's as seen here:

I've seen a few other people in other threads who experienced the same problem but I don't see any posts about resolving the issue. I've tried swapping the bad board into a different slot as well as pressing all the chips on the board. So it's not a problem with the slot and is definitely something wrong with that board.

what is your dB reading currently at 1m distance? I have one fan at slow rpm blowing into the miner, nothing to suck air out and it is at 62-63dB, which is quiet.

I don't know if this sound meter app is accurate but it says 69db. I took 4x 120mm silents out of my BFLs and popped them ontop to test the theory out. So currently I've got the 4x 87CFM fans blowing air into the antminer from the sides. Then 4x 55CFM fans sucking the hot hair out and blowing it upwards. It looks like the temps have dropped to 55c except for 1 card which is at 59c (probaby the one on the end not getting much coverage by the 120mm fan). So I would venture to guess 4x more 87CFM fans should do the trick as I think I read ~56-57c was the standard temperature with stock fans.

I'm trying to convert my antminer s2 so that it is mostly silent. I've already purchased 4 new silent fans (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835242011) and installed them however the CFM just isn't good enough and the antminer temp is getting up to 71c. My next plan is to buy 4 more 140mm fans to place on top of the boards with the case off. I'm thinking another 4 of the same or maybe upgrading a tad and getting (http://www.frozencpu.com/products/13819/fan-901/Akasa_140mm_x_25mm_VIPER_PWM_Fan_w_Hydro_Dynamic_Bearings_AK-FN063.html?tl=g36c435s1104&id=kepe2EsK#blank) Do you think 25dba is going to be too loud or should I stick with the 18dba 87CFM fans?

Second question is going to be fan direction/placement for optimal airflow. Should I configure it so the 4 side fans all blow air into the antminer and the 4 on top to suck air out and blow it upwards. Or should I use the 4 ontop to blow air down into the antminer and the 4 on the sides to suck the hot air out?

Can anyone explain how the KDJ indicator is calculated on BitcoinWisdom? I'm trying to figure out the  math of the K, D, and J lines but none of the explainations from google are matching the outcome of the BitcoinWisdom one.

I'd like to be able to duplicate the KDJ indicator from BitcoinWisdom for use in a trade bot if I can figure out how it is calculated.
The formula is

RSV = (CLOSE-LLV(LOW,9))/(HHV(HIGH,9)-LLV(LOW,9))*100;
K = SMA(RSV,3,1);
D = SMA(K,3,1);
J = 3*K-2*D;

LLV means lowest value in period
HHV means highest value in period
SMA is Simple Moving Average

What does the 1 in SMA(RSV,3,1); mean? I took the SMA of RSV over 3 periods and get a similar result to yours but it's still not quite right. For my SMA calc I just did a simple SMA = (day1 + day2 + day3) / 3

Thanks for the reply. It looks like I had the wrong formula for K and D before.

Are there any other scripts that work with CEX trading other than the default EMA 10/21? I tried running backtests on some of the scripts posted in the contest but they all showed 10-20% losses on CEX. So far it seems like the default EMA 10/21 with 1hr is the only semi profitable one.

EMA definitely works because today my bot on CEX.IO made few bucks on account with a small deposit of 0.5 BTC.

What time period are you using? I'm using 1 hour and it hasn't made any trades today except this morning/last night with a sell at 0.0944 from a buy of 0.0974.

It may have gotten stuck as there was some ghs left that didn't sell for some reason, does it not buy until all ghs is sold?

2013-11-11 05:02 SELL order #7290762 amount: 0.0328 GHS @ 0.0944
2013-11-11 05:02 SELL order #7290762 traded. Balance: 0.0002 GHS (0.0000 BTC) 0.6203 BTC
2013-11-11 06:00 SELL order wasn't created because the amount is less than minimum order amount

Does the owner of bitmit still frequent here? Or does anyone know how to get in contact with him? I'd like to make an offer to buy bitmit and keep it running. I was hoping to buy it and keep everything operational as it switches hands but it looks like he is already shutting it down, Sad
