121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About running an online casino vs an offline casino on: March 11, 2024, 09:32:33 PM
1. Is running offline casinos the same as running an online casino?
It's not same, in many ways.
Online casino does not need as many manpower as you need in an store
You are reaching to word-wide audience where with a store you are reaching to local audience.
Online casino heavily needs IT infrastructure where offline casino can only use a few slot machines and a cashier
Because the audience is wider you need higher budget for marketing or no one knows you where for the offline store, your local audience easily can see you store and become your customers.

I am in support of your opinion but let me throw more light. The reason online casinos require fewer manpower resources compared to offline stores is that many of the operations in an online casino are automated and can be managed with a smaller team. Tasks such as customer support and game management can be handled through digital platforms without the need for extensive human intervention. With online casinos, you can reach out to a worldwide audience since it can easily be accessed from anything part of the world that supports gambling. This is different from offline casinos that are limited to attracting players within their locality.

Due to the global audience reach of online casinos, they often require a higher marketing budget to promote their services and attract players. With intense competition in the online gambling industry, investing in marketing campaigns becomes crucial to stand out among competitors and gain visibility. On the other hand, offline casinos targeting local audiences may not need  so much marketing.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: March 11, 2024, 09:21:03 PM
This is a fact that a lot of people have failed to put into consideration. If a person is struggling to pay their bills or meet their basic needs, then gambling isn't the best option for them, I know for some reason, gambling might look like the best way to multiply your money and then use it to pay off your outstanding bills. But this is the worse lie anyone can ever tell you, sometimes we even tell ourselves this lie, please whenever you feel that way, get rid of the thought else you might end up worsening your current situation by incurring more debts for yourself.

In an activity that people are likely to have losses more than they have wins, it would suicidal for anyone to use gambling as a means to service or clear a debt.
Thinking rationally, it’s quite obvious that gambling is not a considerable path to follow in the pursuit of clearing a loan. But when people are in a fix and are under some pressure to repay a loan or to raise some money quickly, rational thoughts quickly fade away and they begin thinking irrationally. That is when gambling starts to look like a good avenue to make money quickly.

By the time you start thinking rationally again, you’ll be left with no more money in your pockets and likely worse off than when you stepped into the casino.

The irrationality that comes with financial pressure can be a very dangerous thing, especially when you're completely out of options, it is very easy for anyone in that state to start making wrong decisions, especially when desperation sets in.
When a gambler gets to this point, gambling becomes a very big problem. Due to the financial pressure especially from debt, they start seeing gambling as a one way ticket make extra money to repay the debt but in reality it's more of a wolf in sheep clothing, it may seem like a solution but in reality only there to create even more problems for you and put you in a lot more mess than you already are, at that point, you view gambling as your savior when it's likely to make their financial situation even worse than it already is.

Absolutely, financial pressure can make a gambler make irrational decisions, especially when the gambler feels that he has no other option. This pressure is dangerous and most of the time the pressure is also caused by gambling. When you gamble with funds meant for a bill you can easily run into problems and then hoping for gambling to solve it can make the situation even worse.

Most gamblers understand that gambling is uncertain yet the allure of potentially winning big and quickly resolving their financial challenge makes them still give gambling a try but in my opinion, this is not a rational decision. The reason is simple. Gambling is not a reliable or sustainable solution to financial problems. Gambling will compound the problem instead of solving it. When individuals gamble under the weight of financial pressure, they are more likely to make impulsive and risky decisions. This can result in significant financial losses, further exacerbating their already precarious situation.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: March 11, 2024, 09:04:51 PM
The worst time anyone is supposed to involve themselves in gambling is when they are not in their right state of mind because they are going to make the wrong decision, as their judgement will be affected by their current state of mind.

But when it comes to when someone needs money, they shouldn't gamble. I don't totally agree with that statement unless the person is desperately in need of money and needs urgency, but if it's just money to use for little deals, then you can go for gambling and try your luck without putting your hope on it. Gambling results are something we can't predict, so there is no harm in trying to gamble when you need little money.

I agree with you. Gambling requires a stable mindset. When a gambler`s mind is shattered, it becomes difficult to make sound judgments and good predictions. Show me a gambler gambling when he is not in his right frame of mind and I will show you a gambler who will incur more losses because such a gambler will make poor decision-making which will result in unfavorable consequences.

I need to sound so realistic here. Is it possible for a gambler not to gamble when he needs money? Even though it is the ideal thing to do, it is nearly impossible. I understand that gambling involves so much risk and so gambling when you are in dire of money will make you lose the little you have because you will be gambling under pressure and pressure gambling creates more problems than it solves. It is essential to strike a balance between taking risks and exercising caution when it comes to gambling for financial gain.
124  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: March 11, 2024, 08:47:22 PM
Mostly family. Even if the gambling addict is away from home, there will be parents that will always think about him and if ever he/she is in trouble they will come running and help him.
Personally, a gambling addict might be enjoying himself while he does his bad habit while those who don't gamble will never understand why he keeps on doing that even if it's already damaging him mentally.
That's why those who care for him will be the ones doing the thinking. I doubt a parent can sleep at night if ever they receive news about his son/daughter being a gambling addict. They will definitely think about him first and try to reach out. I am a parent so I would know and we have different traditions when it comes to offering a helping hand to our relatives, what more with your own blood? If a gambling addict have a family of his own, I bet they will be the ones who will be affected the most and next to them will be the parents of the trouble one.

I can relate to this. Parents are always concerned about their children regardless of the age of the person. Mothers will always be there for you so when a child is in trouble his parents don’t have rest of mind. This is done out of love and concern. Family will always wonder how their loved one is doing and if they are safe. Even when the addicted gambler is not worried about his addiction, some family members are disturbed since they desire good things for the gambler.

It is important to note that families are often the first line of support for a gambling addict. If the addict finds himself in a difficult situation, he can rely on his family. A friend of mine used his mom`s car to gamble but his mom paid to get the car back and was even more worried about the wellbeing of his child than his car that was used to gamble. It became obvious that the family is affected more than the addict.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Even as a sport fan be careful! on: March 11, 2024, 08:33:30 PM
Some fans can be violent and ready to do anything to an opposition so fans need to be careful as the OP have noted. There are a series of cases of sports violence which has claimed the lives of football fans and maybe some blame should go to the stadium security security for not preventing this violence. The rate at which fans fight in stadiums is becoming alarming and this calls for sensitization among fans to make them understand that even though you support rival clubs that doesn’t make you enemies.

Fans should only cheer players and avoid violence because life is too precious and so when there are casualties the excitement that comes with the game is lost. People will no longer concentrate on the game but rather be distracted due to the violent scene. As fans, let us embrace love for one another so that we can enjoy the sports activities.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Try to stick to your instincts as a gambler on: March 11, 2024, 08:11:57 PM
You are right in this, but as a player I prefer to withdraw and miss out on winning rather than continue playing and lose everything or lose more than half, because that is what happens with the majority of people who are in a casino, they cannot do the right thing because of suddenly greed sets in and everything ends there, I prefer that, because the regret for not earning more is not the same as that of losing everything or losing a large part of our money, that is what has to be evaluated, for That is why we have to be very astute and always do the right thing so that the best possible can be generated.

Sometimes it is better to earn a little money but safely, than to risk earning a lot of money and suddenly losing everything. I am very complacent in that regard. I prefer to have money in my pocket than to lose everything. You must always take advantage of these opportunities. life and what we get in the casinos.

I support your opinion on the fact that it is preferable to withdraw and miss out on winning rather than continue playing and risk losing everything or losing more than half. This decision is often driven by the fear of sudden greed taking over and causing detrimental consequences. The regret of not earning more is considered less severe compared to the regret of everything. Remember half bread is better than none. Although, some greedy gamblers have lost everything in their quest to end more.

I was at a betting shop where someone won $5000 and his friend advised him to stop for the day and plan how to spend his winning and maybe return later. He refused and instead told his friend that he wanted to try two more times then he would leave. He kept trying and trying until the money became $1700. Even at that, his friend told him to go back with the $1700 on the ground that he was still profiting, but he still refused and then lost everything. It was after losing everything that he said he would have listened to his friend. To make the best possible decisions in such situations, one must be astute and always prioritize responsible gambling.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: March 11, 2024, 08:02:28 PM
Exactly yes people often loss their big earned reward just because of their inner greed so I think if one win a suitable reward then they should quite gambling and they should use that amount in another site for investment so in such case they will not face big loss and their money will also be increasing as they wishes.

There should be a time to stop gambling after win or loss depends on the situations and if you are using your profit again and again then neither you will make a better use of your profit nor you will enjoy this pleasure. Stopping duration is necessary in gambling and its not a waste of time but it is a time to enjoy and learn more.

It is easier said than done. No gambler can win in gambling and then stop gambling completely. It is not possible. Most people who have won huge amounts of money from gambling diversified by investing in other sustainable businesses and then gamble for fun still hoping for more wins. Remember money can never be sufficient. People who gamble all their winnings away are addicted gamblers and it is pitiful to hear that people who became rich through gambling still lost everything to gambling. Well, maybe it’s a case of easy come, easy go.

I agree with you on the need for a pause. Even when you are winning it is important to take a break so that you can channel your winning into something productive. This is important because if you continue gambling, you will end up losing all the winnings. On the other hand, when you are losing take a pause too because if you get emotional you will lose more and then incur an irreparable loss.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A personal view on: March 11, 2024, 07:43:13 PM
I am disciplined enough to stop so, whether I set a limit or not. What matters to me is I control my emotion and I can do whatever I want and whenever I want to stop.

Knowing when to stop gambling as a gambler is crucial. It will save a gambler a lot. Some gamblers don’t know when to stop gambling. Even when they are winning they keep gambling with the hope of winning more and also, when they lose they continue to gamble to recoup their loss. This is a very bad way of gambling. In my submission, any gambler who knows when to stop can never be addicted or have a gambling-related problem such a gambler can easily overcome so many problems simply by stopping when it is necessary.

But then, I have a concern with you not setting a limit for your gamble. Even though you know when to stop and control your emotions, it is still imperative to set limits and stick to them. If you don’t set a limit you will gamble more in some days depending on your income which is not proper. It is better to have a fixed amount regardless of how much you have.
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You See Losing Your Weekly Payment to The Casino on: March 11, 2024, 07:34:22 PM
As adults we have the liberty to spend the money that we legitimately earned on anything that we choose, and if it's on gambling then it's what we want, only that in the end everybody must face the consequences of their actions. Except that you have another steady and solid source of income, using %100 of your earning to gamble is not a wise decision to me, because there's a higher probability that you'd lose the bet, it's always better to gamble with the amount that you can afford to loose. It's not necessary to gamble all your weekly earnings because you want to patronize or give back to the casino that pays you, you can be gambling a budgeted amount for that purpose if you really want to, because there's no obligation to do so.

Even as an adult people will talk when you are doing something wrong. Every state tries to protect citizens from harming themselves not minding whether you are an adult or not. Sometimes the concern is not about you but about people who depend on you for survival. When a gambler uses all his money to game and he has dependants, he will end up denying his dependants necessities and this can strain the relationship in his family. Even if you have another steady income, it is still irrational to throw away all your money to gambling.

Why do people even gamble all their earnings? Gambling is a continuous activity and so if you don`t gamble today, you will gamble tomorrow so having self-control is important. With self-control, setting limits and sticking to it becomes easier. Personal experience shows that people who do not have self-control can easily be addicted and it is an addict that can gamble all his earnings yet will not still gain satisfaction.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it possible to inherit a gambling debt? on: March 11, 2024, 07:18:25 PM
It depends of the law and the regulations of the country where it's happening but usually debts can be inherited and the children can only reject the whole legacy if they don't want to have to pay them. That could be seen as unfair for many people but I think it's a protection for lenders and a better guarantee for borrowers who have children. Lenders are rarely responsible of the death of their debtors so it would be also unfair for them to lose their money because of that actually.

I don’t think any country`s law permits children must inherit their father`s debt. This used to be the old practice but today, most practices have changed since man is dynamic and so society changes. Before a person is given a loan, there must be collateral which is equivalent to the loan collected. A child can decide to inherit his father`s debt willingly if he is capable of paying and also doesn’t want to lose a family`s property because of the loan.

This is a similar case to what happened to a friend. A friend of mine cleared his father`s debt after his father`s demise. His father owed the bank and used his house as collateral. When the bank came to claim the house he offered to pay his father`s debt to retain the ownership of the house and the bank accepted. So, it is possible to inherit a father`s debt but you are not legally bound to clear the debt.
131  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: March 11, 2024, 07:08:04 PM

Everyone of us has a secret and there are a lot reason why we hide it but in gambling it's better to show all we got than hiding some of this problems. Cause it will affect more in our life once we are hiding something in our family and it will make more crucial if they will know late than their expected. Anyways it's up to us if we gonna tell our family or keep it hiding until they found out cause there's no secret that can not be revealed.

I think there mustn’t be any reason if one decides to be private with his gambling activities. There is only going to be a problem if one decides to be irresponsible with his gambling actions and that in turn could have a negative effects on his life and others.
But a person who gambles responsibly could have a healthy gambling lifestyle and could also be private as well. People are quick to say stupid things and literally judge someone without knowing anything. Keeping up it activities private could also bring one peace and rest of mind from judging eyes.

One of the advantages of online gambling is privacy so it is not wrong as you have noted to keep our gambling private. I am an introvert and I feel so relaxed and comfortable when I gamble online because nobody knows when I win or lose and even the amount I use in gambling. One thing I dislike about offline gambling is that your stake is open to others to see and it is wrong for people to know how much a gambler uses to gamble. This can get people talking about the gambler and his privacy will be in the mud.

I remember when I was still gambling offline. Sometimes, before I got to the house my mom would get information that I was gambling and then she would frown at me when I got home and other times she would call me on the phone telling me to leave the betting shop. My mom hated gambling because my dad was a reckless gambler and so she didn’t want me following my dad`s footsteps.
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It’s unlikely that anyone besides you will be happy with your winnings. on: March 11, 2024, 06:58:44 PM
Not everyone would be happy about success, some would be jealous of it.
It is not just in gambling but in general, there would always be different point of view when they see successful stories, some would take it as an inspiration, and others would take it as bragging.

It is normal to see people sad when you are winning. Success is enviable since it doesn’t happen overnight. Most people who are also hoping to be successful will become envious when you get there before them. Sometimes, I wonder why a friend should envy his friend for winning then I realize that naturally, everyone wants to be ahead. When a friend wins, he might become ahead financially and bad friends will be angry because they desire to be ahead of everyone in the circle. No wonder, Hobbes noted that man is inherently evil. This evil built-in man explains why people envy others when they become successful.

I have great friends. It is our tradition to assist others when either of us has a winning, We sit out, eat and drink together and then the person who has the winning will give a cash gift to everyone and this practice has made the friendship stronger.

133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This was my highest risk. on: March 11, 2024, 06:49:28 PM
Don't be too proud of taking risks in gambling because almost 80% of the risk taken in gambling has led to failure. I can't encourage someone to take a risk in gambling because I have had so many sad stories coming from people who have chosen to take risks in gambling.

-snip-

The majority of people who take high risks in gambling usually end up losing, and it is quite lucky for him to be able to win that bet, because otherwise he would probably create a thread on this forum and say "don't risk it if you can't afford to lose it". Because if it were me, I probably wouldn't want to risk my money just for a bet like that, because gambling with such high risks would lead to irresponsible gambling and that might disrupt my finances in the future. So I prefer to gamble responsibly and not too risky.

I agree with your opinion. It does not even depend on taking high risk alone. The majority of the gamblers are losing. This is about the system and not the gambler. This difficulty lies in the fact that humans don’t have the power to foresee what happens ahead. This inability makes gambling so unpredictable and it becomes irrational for gamblers to take high risk when it is glaring that you must lose more than you win. I have been into sports betting and I will say that most of the times, the surest team always lose and this became a lesson for me never to take unbearable risks.

Nothing is sure in gambling until you see it happen. A minute is enough to change the tempo of a game and decide the winner. Remember a gambler is always a loser. Each time I consider this statement I see reasons why I should gamble moderately.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: March 11, 2024, 06:41:00 PM
Children can learn very well from observation this is why parents should always check their behaviour. I will not be the one that will introduce my children to gambling this is why I ensure that I don't gamble in their presence. But we all know that gambling is no longer a hidden activity in our society. Our children are exposed to gambling adverts on social media, among peers, and when they are watching sports events. Paraventure my child starts gambling, and it is my responsibility to guide him to be a responsible gambler. But I would never support his gambling activities if he is still a student and still depends on me for survival. He should be working and earning his money before he would start gambling. I agree that gambling is not a bad activity if it is done responsibly.

You will be doing your children good by not gambling in their presence but it will be wiser to discuss gambling with them when they get to a certain age. One thing I noticed is that children learn from observation and even as a parent not gambling in the presence is not everything. Also making sure that what they watch is controlled is important. Most of the satellite cables provide for parental control options. With this, children can be guided and prevented from watching certain programs.

Sometimes, when we talk about not gambling in the presence of a child, we fail to look at the environment too. Some environments are prone to gambling so it becomes difficult to prevent the child not to associate with gambling. The child must interact with his environment so that even when the child doesn’t learn from his parents, he can learn from his environment.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is AI going to affect gambling in any way ? on: March 11, 2024, 06:29:01 PM
AI cannot affect gambling. Can AI make accurate predictions? It cannot and so there is no way it can affect the gambling industry. Gambling is an activity that cannot be influenced at all. AI cannot see the future and so has to stake in gambling. It is one area where AI has no impact. Gamble depends on luck and even if you furnish AI with all the information, it will be difficult to tell the outcome. AI can aid you mainly in academics or other spheres which involves gathering information but cannot tell you what might happen shortly and making a prediction simply means telling what will happen in the future.

I haven`t attempted to make use of AI in making predictions or even rely on it to gather information but I know that AI is not built on making forecasts. Even if there is such an AI, it will still not guarantee anyone 100% win because some outcomes like red card and injury cannot be foreseen before the game and these factors can decide a game.
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 11, 2024, 06:18:03 PM
I also think so, it is very possible for there to be a lot of goals in this match so it is better to bet on over goals in this match rather than choosing one team to win the match.
Chelsea and Newcastle are two teams that have been very inconsistent this season even though they have strong strengths, which is why it makes it difficult to guess which team will win the match, I think both teams have the same percentage.
Elite teams finds it difficult to win matches this season. Possible goals are achieved by the club's that are fierce in performance. We have witnessed the top run up and down running of Chelsea and this have play out to become very comfortable season for them, even though they're not aspiring to be stable but their performance have been impressive in the past weeks. Another matchday for the Blues, Cheslea hosts Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge tonight. The last meeting, Chelsea won them 4-2 in penalty shootout and seen them eliminated from the league.

However, Mauricio Pochettino should be given more time to fixed his club, he's not holding down but kept on bringing on the top performance of his team, he's spectacular and keen on merging tremendous winnings. I'm blue fan and will be more happier if they're able to win the Magpies tonight, it's going to be a tough game for both sides but three points is essential and earned for the club that's standing strong enough.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 11, 2024, 05:22:01 PM
I agree that Arsenal will be win but it will be not an easy match for them.
In Europe competitions Porto never lost with more than 1 goal difference since Sept 2022.
I guess this match will end with 1-0 or 2-1 in 90 minutes, and the winner will be decided by a penalty shootout.
Arsenal are unstoppable in matches, they brings on stellar performance against t opposition and losing doesn't seem to be their current form. Mikel Arteta will be becoming one of the most outstanding coach over time, this is his time to shine and he will do everything to make sure he stays good grounds. Watching their performance in league matches, it's been amazing and straightforward.

Anticipating the score to be 2-1, you're right about the game and we expects excellent results. All expectations coming from Arsenal, they're winning this game and qualifying for the next phase this season. I'm quite aware they've been triumphing over important matches and thrashing oppositions. Mikel Arteta should know what to anticipate versus Porto because Porto is coming to England soil, and a win for the Gunners will ensure supremacy. Arsenal is down by one goal to Porto in the first leg of the round of 16, and the Gunners will host them in the second leg at Emirate Stadium.
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 11, 2024, 04:01:16 PM
You have a good point there as well. Considering his current contract still has three more years to expire there isn't any need to be in a hurry to sign another shortly.

Besides he should think about the possibility of Guardiola's departure in the future as well. We all know Guardiola built this squad according to his system completely. In case of his decision to leave just like Klopp has done next manager choice will be really important for Manchester City. If they can't bring a manager who will continue with a similar system then things can get really interesting. However I assume they would think of bringing Arteta in that case who was already Guardiola's assistant before.  Smiley
Mikel Arteta is on the rise and will follow in the footsteps of other brilliant coaches in English football. It's time to start ranking Mikel Arteta because he has worked rigorously for the team. Manchester City will suffer if Pep Guardiola decides to leave Etihad Stadium. There's undoubtedly a lot to say about the brilliant man who built the club into a formidable force and the best European club in history. All of these awards and compliments are legitimate because Pep Guardiola earned them. Liverpool and Manchester City will not be as fearsome in the coming 3-4 seasons due to changes in the team's style, which have already begun to occur.

On the other hand, EPL is a challenging league because it brings more shocking results, we have other managers that will be fighting to succeed in the space but it does require maximum effort and key basis to adapt to. As you well know, everything is about time and patience, for illustration, the Manchester City board was willing to understand Pep Guardiola and gave him time to build the club to become a formidable one. Pep Guardiola have no time to relent because he knows exactly the job he was hired for and deliver.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 11, 2024, 03:33:49 PM
Arsenal, which immediately benefited from the draw experienced by Liverpool vs Manchester City yesterday, also still has to be taken into account by these two teams because Arsenal is also a very extraordinary team this season. Although at the moment I don't think that Arsenal will be able to win the Premier League this season even though it could be possible for Arsenal as they are in the top position they are in.
There's no win either for Liverpool and Manchester City that escape and settled for a draw tie. If there's a manager that enjoyed that draw tie between Liverpool and Manchester City would be Pep Guardiola. Arsenal are topping with goal difference against Liverpool but it doesn't change anything, did it? Gunners have been doing exceptionally brilliant in past matches and they have come a long way to just give up. They are elite team and these teams are disciplined, bringing on the very best to entertain their supporters.

Patiently awaiting anticipating to see Gunners contend for the title? They are an exceptional team, but they will only scratch the surface when the major occurrence comes along. Liverpool and Manchester City are the true challengers because they have performed effectively, despite the fact that the Gunners are now leading the standings. Are Arsenal poised to win the EPL title this season? I don't think they're a chance team for the EPL title this season since they've simply exhibited a passing interest, and this is completely out of balance for the club.
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indirect victims of gambling addiction on: March 11, 2024, 03:11:09 PM
Parents must take care of the child until the child reaches adulthood. Otherwise the child may go astray. Moreover, a underage child does not know which is the right way for him. He has to be taught and if there are any mistakes it is the responsibility of the parents to convey those mistakes. Of course, they should be maintained according to their age. If children are interested in gambling, they should be made aware from the beginning that it is not a way to make money. This is risky work. When a gambler can get an idea about risk and investment from his family, he can definitely make better decisions about gambling matters. That is why family education is of course very important. It may not work directly but may be a good solution for indirect damage.
I agree with you about the education that must be done by parents. And indeed, education is not only in school, of course in the outside world they can also take lessons. By educating them properly it can help them in reaching a good future because of course if they are addicted to gambling it will destroy them themselves and can reach others.

Informal education facilitates fast learning, as it's known, everyone is a teacher, but learning swiftly requires a good tutor, one that can interact with his students, ward, acquittances, etc., with no signs of scaring them away. Family is an excellent place for informal education, but most parents scare their kids away. That's not helpful in teaching a child. As a kid, I enjoyed learning from people I love, regardless of if it's a family member of a formal teacher. In any learning process, the teacher and the student must be in a quality relationship. Gambling is a broad topic and needs to be thought often to growing kids who are developing interest in the game. It's not wrong, provided they are up to the required age for gambling in their country.

When a child is not informed about the necessity in gambling, he would find himself in a tough situation, during his gambling days. Some parents don't ask their kids questions on gambling. Hence, lots of growing kids who may have been exposed to gambling, don't receive adequate counselling on such mistake. When they grow up, they'll likely become gamblers. Building a strong, quality relationship with the growing child, dissolves his hearths and lets him open up on everything he knows on the subject. Because he wouldn't mind, since the teacher is a close friend.
Teaching our kids about the real world, including gambling, is essential. No nonsense - just be honest and engaged. I completely agree with your point about the importance of a good teacher-student relationship. This is essential in informal education contexts like the home. Unfortunately, too many parents fail. They either scare their kids away or dont discus life skills like gambling. This is a tremendous error!

Discussing gambling with children is important but changes nothing. Most of the people gambling today were told about gambling dangers but that didn’t hinder them from gambling. A child will decide what he wants for himself when he gets to adulthood. There are so many things my parents instructed me not to do but as I grew up I am doing some of them because it is in my interest to do them. Even the ones I don’t do is not because of parental advice but because within me I don’t fancy doing it.

Well, we shouldn’t rule out the role of advice in a child. I think the reason why children should be told about gambling earlier is to enable them to avoid underage gambling. When a child gambles so early in life, he can easily get addicted and then create a plethora of problems for himself, friends and even family.
