122  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [600 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: July 15, 2014, 03:35:43 AM

We provide an estimated hashrate for each p2pool miner address here under the active miners tab: http://minefast.coincadence.com/p2pool-stats.php (estimate subject to variance/luck)

We also provide more detailed info per address/miner here: http://minefast.coincadence.com/miner.php

Hope it helps...

awesome, thanks. will give it a try

My M's Pool Monitor can do the monitoring/alerting for you.  (see sig)

If you're using your own private node, then you can use whatever name you want for each worker, and it'll all go to the same address.

If it's a public node, it's not quite so simple.

M

Hmm.. Yes, I am using public nodes.  I'll have to figure something out
I may have to join a pool that lists the hash rates publicly like http://61.219.119.37:9332/static/dashboard/miner.html?id=1Fgn9Q9GiV6QtuNegAog1wYpWXDAkt1z6o and use kimonifyto create an API for me out of it

Thanks

How can I look up my hashrate quickly and easily for a specific worker?  I see my payout address listed on all the p2pool nodes (i.e. http://107.170.116.123:9332/static/ under Payouts if a block were found NOW)

Is there a json api or some URL i could bookmark that would quickly give me my hashrate?

I want to implement some sort of warning system to alert me if my workers die.  If someone knows how to do this, that would be most appreciated

No I wasn't saying that. I had a question mark at the end of my statement.

Actually I'm accepting $4999 for 100 chips or best offer Smiley

Okay Pistachio then I guess the question is over to you Smiley

As I currently don't have enough funds to have the boards built (it seems an interesting deal though), I'm selling my 100 chips too. Please PM if interested.

Interesting. So you are accepting $3500 for 100 chips?

That's quite a loss over the $6000 paid for the original unit.  You don't think the X-3 will make more than $3500 over its usable lifetime?

Wonder what the wattage will be like, with this solution.  Instead of having 2 of the official Black Arrow units, you will be running 5 TechnoBit units, each with 4 arctic cooler fans

EDIT: their site says 1W/GHs

So running some math here.  To get to 2TH/s you would need 20 chips.

So that's 5 boards x 205,00€,
20 arctic coolers (20x 29,99€)

for chipos 20x $35 (at above price)

Total 1,624.80€ or 2208.53 US Dollar for boards/coolers
$700 for chips

$2,908.53 total for 2.4TH/s (fixed! thanks bogsag)

Thats less than half of what we paid.

TechnoBit can build it in 2 weeks but Black Arrow cant?    Has anyone used them before?
133  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 28, 2014, 05:10:03 PM

Dear unit holders.
These are the results of the survey. 68% of all unit holders have cast their vote:
Yes, PetaMine should switch over to P2Pool – 96%
No, PetaMine should stay with ghash.io – 3%
No, Petamine should switch to another pool like Eligius or BTCGuild – 1%
The result is clear that a big majority of unit holders prefer a switch to p2pool. As we were performing additional tests the past week, we have to inform you that unfortunately the Bitfury systems are not compatible with p2pool. We are currently working on a solution for this and we will switch to p2pool as soon as we are able to fix this problem.

It actually might not be a bad buy.  It's getting close to the calculations we made

Calculations that assumed 7%/week growth and 100% reinvestment ROI, neither of which seem very likely. There is a price at which this is worth buying, but it aint very high.

My calculations above didn't include any reinvestment.  I'm thinking it would have been better if cryptx were actually shareholders so they actually cared about the price. Just like Facebook and others are majority holders and really so care a lot about the price.  With the current situation they don't care even if it goes to 0 because they still get their hosting fee.

But they have now burnt bridges with all their shareholders. Who is gonna invest with them in the future?  I emailed them about reducing hosting fee and no response

Canadian company Vault of Satoshi launches Divcoin
https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/divcoin
(~$50/month 10 gh/s)
The initial price per Divcoin is $5.00 CAD (USD/BTC equivalent). Fees are 0.00028 per Divcoin, per day, which will be automatically removed before payout.

Not sure what you are saying. You just calculated a total return of 0.011 which is in line with the optimistic estimates Ive been making for some time. What that means is that a 0.011 BTC share price would seem reasonable (though that assumes a rapid deceleration of network growth. We may well hit 7% or lower, but not likely in the next few weeks which matter most). Its still trading around 0.03. The bubble is deflating, it hasnt popped yet.

Wouldn't there be some sale of assets after mining ends?
138  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 27, 2014, 10:38:14 PM
My calculations: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12mylwGbqNWwFr_zspNhWg8RYjWlDJJCg16U38YOI8Yo/edit?usp=sharing (feel free to make a copy and plug in your own numbers)

At 7% DIFFICULTY INCREASE per week, and 0.027 share price we will end up earning 43% of our money back in the next 19 weeks, by which it will not be profitable to run any longer.  So from what I can see, even if the price drops another 50%, its still break even.

139  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 27, 2014, 07:51:16 PM
As long as you are okay with the short term tanking of the price.

By the way, how can we get cryptx involved in this discussion? Sad

Well the vote had a 3rd option - switch to another pool (btcguild, eligius, etc.)
