Safaricom, it's a typo. It is the biggest mobile provider in East Africa (Vodacom). MPESA is Safaricom's mobile money. It is used by more than half of Kenyans.

http://www.iamsatoshi.com/kenya-bitcoin-revolution/The use of a digital form of money is embedded in the Kenyan society. Safaricom’s success in Kenya included a grand promotional campaign. Everyone gained trust in mobile payments after a colleague, friend or a cousin confirmed it was not a con. It is now as cheap as $40 to buy an Android OS phone in Kenya.

And we need to spread away from Europe/US/APAC into Africa. Not that I'm in favor of centralised exchanges personally, but these guys are doing a good job.

@Meuh6879: I'm a bit lost now. Do you mean for the trailer? The final version is not ready yet.
@dopecoindude: Are you involved with BitcoinStarter.com? What's the procedure? Thanks!

@Meuh6879: By binary, do you mean a credit list? I need to work on some titles too, just so busy...

@Sat0shiSlot: The BG music is already pretty heavily compressed. Did you you have the issue with the dialogue while there is different footage (than the speaker), on screen? Or is it with specific speakers? @hlynur: I've posted the project on Reddit once, but didn't get much notice. I'd highly appreciate if someone from the forum would help me with that Don't want to challenge the reddiquette..As for CoinDesk/other outlets, I don't know how to go about that. Again, like with Reddit, I believe it is more appealing if it comes from other people. Emily, chief editor at CoinDesk did tweet about the film/crowdfunding campaign: https://twitter.com/emilyspaven/status/439377641469407232@TookDk: Thanks! My first screening for parts of the film (mostly Bitcoin in Kenya), will be played in Boom Festival this August (where I'll be presenting): http://www.boomfestival.org/boom2014/program/liminal-village/borderless-world/tomer-kantor/ Please help me share the link for the crowdfunding campaign or the Youtube trailer

@hlynur: Sorry for the delay, just saw your comment. I was in Kenya, filming.. I thought StartJoin is cool because it works with bitcoin. Kickstarter would have been better for a wider audience. I will see how I could possibly move it there. Thanks for your kind words!

My pleasure. I think that the EU commission economist (Nikolay), while not 100% informed/aware, is still a great step up in the kind of people that are willing to address bitcoin publicly. I spoke to him off camera for a while. This all happens the day after Gox shuts down. He personally thought fractional reserve was the reason.

pleased to let you know that the UKDCA website is now live at: http://digitalcurrencyassociation.org.uk/about-the-ukdca"The UK Digital Currency Association (UKDCA) is a non-profit organisation that was established to inform public debate, influence the design of jobs and growth-friendly policy and regulation for the United Kingdom, to educate the public and to provide a fact-based source of media comment as peer-to-peer Digital Currency technologies, such as Bitcoin, gain wider attention."

I was there to document the two bitcoin sessions. The first was a keynote speech Virtual Currency and Bitcoin, by Nikolay Gertchev, an economic analyst for the European Commission. The second was a panel discussion debating the impact (Virtual Currency and Bitcoin). The panel got a bit emotional at times and, a 45 minute session, turned into a 55 minute session, but felt like hardly enough time. http://www.iamsatoshi.com/pay-360-virtual-currency-bitcoin/
