Am thinking about placing L3+ in garage and getting Ethernet through a Powerline Adapter. Has anyone tried it . Does it worK?

Give a try, but if the existing power cables have lot's of noise & long distance to the host Powerline device, this will degrade (severely) the receiving Powerline performance in terms of speed and higher latency.
Other than pulling the ethernet cables directly, what about consider wifi-to-wifi bridge ? Check your wifi signal coverage/performance in the garage.
powerline works fine by me. Make sure you have the same Phase
