Before investing it is very important to know how beneficial the coin is in which you are investing, after investing our profit depends on our holding ability if we will hold it more after once we invest it will surely rise in price, so according to me, our patience, knowledge skills and way of investment makes us good investors, and a good investor never think about panic selling. Honestly I won't pick half on both the cryptos mostly it will bitcoin like you said and remaining funds will goes to altcoins which includes many coins. That's much better plan, $10k is a big capital, even though the allocation is 8:2. it's still too large capital for IOTA. Hey guys, my friends and I were down 90% of our crypto portfolio. We bought at the highs and we bought shitcoins. Now we are still down significantly and i just want to ask if you guys have strategy to recover from this? Cheers!
If I were you, the first thing I would do is study how to trade like a professional. If you succeed in this, get rid of your smallest bags which looks dead (no dev, abandoned, etc). Sell them for BTC. Use this BTC to trade. The most promising ones you keep for the next three years, you never know. You can also try to increase the size of these bags by trading them. It is bad to hear about your loss but this is uncertain market and you can win and loose anytime. I think you guys will get your value recovered. Not all altcoin are bad, I assume you have ETH and maybe Litecoin and if you see the list for the best coins in the market, they are there. My strategy with Bitcoin when I loose value is I HODL until I reach back my initial value of investment and start gaining. I would have suggested you the same strategy had you had Bitcoin. recover is a mandatory thing for all traders to do if they lose. but you need a special strategy and introspection first, before trying to recover. you have to know why you can lose that much, and other tips don't be too stressed that you have to recover as soon as possible, just do trading as usual, don't make it too excessive |

I would probably not include any ICO in the list of the options. Now, when the market is getting up after the shock, the new projects may not survive. It is better to invest in Bitcoin.
bitcoin is a very definite asset to make a profit. but other altcoins can bring greater profits. but you are right, don't choose ICO, except the IEO in the big exchange. maybe it will be profitable. with that much capital, it's very unfortunate if you only invest in bitcoin, with that much capital giving you a great opportunity to be able to diversify, of course the benefits will be more greater. Is there any valid statistic shows that market always go down during holidays? Personally I'm doing day trade for who has high volume transaction and great news about it.
But both of trading like stock and crypto has high risk on them so you should done it with extra careful.
I'm better trade crypto for long term rather than short term because I've experience it myself
Day trading is a time-eating activity. Only those fellows, who take trading as their main job, can do it. besides, you can work here mostly with the tokens that have a lower rating as their prices change more often. Indeed, it is an eating time activity but its worthed with the profit you can get. and I think short term can provide greater benefits than holding long term. besides, of course you have many options besides bitcoin for trading. and for safe trading, choose one that has a large volume, its good idea. |

The same happened with the run up to $1000. People who went in at $1000 were crying in 2015, but even at a general low from 2017 they are sitting pretty. Not always best feeling top buying but as long as you dont go fiat at the bottom or blow it on scam coins people should generally be fine just might take some time. Patience is key

Yes holding is waste so long times even a few years, alot of newbies investor was decide to hold crypto in the beginning of 2018 without any risk management, so they getting loss much money. So trading or holding should be with risk management.
Holding isnt a waste of time because when you hold , you didnt do anything . you can just leave your coins inside your wallet and continue your life outside the crypto scene . trading should be consider a waste of time because trading is an active activity . you dont need any risk management when you hold because hodling is not risky as trading and as long as you chose the best coins . if you don't have any strategy and patience in holding, of course holding will only waste your time and money, look at what happened last year, many newbies do holding without clear knowledge and strategies, then when prices fall and stay low in long time and then makes many of them give up and do cutlose, it is a form of waste time and your money |

It will probably break and go higher than $5600 but base on how I see it $6000 won't be the price floor and it can go up and down within $200 dollar range, $6300 and above is just a mere optimism it may happen but not that fast the possibility is too low but there is still a chance. We have few news regarding bitcoin and it won't get hype without any event that might trigger the alarm, prediction wouldn't be that necessary unless something unexpected occur.

I think its better government collecting taxes from our gain not from our trade. Cryptocurrency is investment and if we collected by our trade, its must be very huge amount we should pay on taxes. Tax is one of the state revenues used to run the wheels of government and development. The government is trying to impose tax on crypto in a way that does not impose the transaction from the crypto owner and provides security for investment and crypto trading. But that does not mean they have to give taxes on everything, especially in crypto which is still in the development stage, the tax will only make the crypto enthusiasts decrease. if they want tax from crypto. wait until crypto is in a good position in that country, and crypto tax can be a good income for the government Tax collection have been already started in some country, it is just they do for fiat holders. Not exactly we felt it cause not as vulgar just like it happen for big companies but it have a possibilities that it will strictly implement soon once it finally recognized as legal currency all over the country. The sudden pump in value last 2017 might be just being manipulated by whales. There is no denying that Bitcoin could not be totally controlled by anyone but it could be manipulated for short term effect in price. The price is dependent on the supply and demand, that is why people who has large volume could even make large demand and then suddenly withdraw it causing sudden dump. I think manipulation might also play at that time, but I think that weaker prices due to correction and panic selling are happening, imagine that the price of bitcoin is going up tens of times certainly makes anyone want to sell it and become a millionaire. and we know too much supply and too much sell will make prices fall, and thats what happen |
