121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Signature Campaign Participants on: April 25, 2018, 03:13:25 PM
You have a good point. I agree that not all the blame must be shouldered by the campaign manager alone because it is also the bounty participant's responsibility to check how legitimate the ICO he or she is about to join. Campaign managers, no matter how veteran, are human being and can be fooled as well. They should be accountable, yes, but the participants should also consider themselves accountable of such actions.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what's your reason joining here in crypto? on: April 25, 2018, 02:06:58 PM
My primary reason of joining crypto world is earning money. I am a student and is in need of financial assistance both for my family and my studies and since this stuff is becoming the talk of the town in my university, I got interested and asked a friend how to be a part of this and the rest is history. So far, all is working well despite of the bloodbath recently. All my holdings are waiting for the bull market. That's pretty much it.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which secure or better way to open the Myetherwallet account? on: April 25, 2018, 02:32:43 AM
Hey guys,

Is opening the Myetherwallet account using Json File more secure or better than using the Private Key itself? Thanks for your respon.

Yesterday, there was a post warning people about accessing myetherwallet. Here is the link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3386300.0

If I were you, restrain from opening myetherwallet. We don't know how true these news are but it is better to prevent loss from happening. MEW is not completely secured and expert hackers can still hijack it. If you really want a good wallet, you can go for hardware wallets such as Ledger and Trezor, although it might cost you some money too.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some say myetherwallet hacked to day. Be carefull. on: April 24, 2018, 02:48:37 PM
Thanks for the caution but can they really steal my tokens even if I just checked the balance? An ethereum address is enough already to check the balance of the wallet. I think they can only hack when an individual enters their private key. Eth address would be an exception if that is the case. My friend just recently opened his MEW account and so far, nothing happened, maybe because he did not enter his private key.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: tell us your holding experience with airdrop/ bounty tokens on: April 24, 2018, 12:35:08 AM
Never did I earn money from airdrop tokens. It is just usually a few dollars and the transaction fee is oftentimes larger than the equivalent value of the airdrop tokens. Don't expect that you will become rich by just joining airdrops because if not fake, its value is very little.

I suggest that you just join signature campaigns. That is a lot better than joining airdrops. Or if you are skilled in some way, like for example writing or designing, you can join media, blog or article campaigns and avatar, signature, web or graphic designing.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinion on token airdrops? on: April 23, 2018, 04:32:04 AM
Airdrops are actually conducted to make the ICO's name popular. It is like a bait that captures people's attention, somewhat a marketing strategy. Most airdrops require people to join their telegram group and as the population of people increases, its name reverberate from investor to investor. This attracts people to invest.

As far as the amount of tokens earned is concerned, there is really a very low equivalent value. Usually just a few dollars and you can't make a profit out of it - that is for sure.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please help a newbie who do A LOT of mistakes on: April 23, 2018, 03:58:38 AM
The problem is not being a newbie. The problem is being impulsive and rushing into decisions without enough knowledge. You could have prevented these mistakes to happen if you only did not let your emotions decide for you.

But anyway, it is already done. That must not stop you from doing crypto investments. That must serve as a lesson to you. Do not panic sell because know that the crypto market is naturally unstable. There will be extreme pumps and dumps but it will always recover.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can anybody tell me what is the equivalent of a stake? on: April 20, 2018, 02:04:56 AM
The value of one stake depends on how many participants are in the specific bounty campaign. The more participants are there, the lower its value. If you want to earn a big amount of money, then join a campaign that has few participants, aside from having a good team, working product, critic reviews, platform and marketing strategy.

The value of stakes can be acquired by summing total stakes of all participants and using it as a divider for the allocated tokens. You will know, from that, the value of one stake. Multiply that value to the number of stakes you have earned and there you have it.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not every blockchain project has a good future on: April 19, 2018, 12:30:13 AM
Before a good business plan and marketing strategy is achieved, there should be a good team behind it first. A great set of people with enough experience and skills will allow the project's smooth sailing. Also, from great people, great ideas will be produced as well.

It is important to check, not only the project's white paper, so on and so forth. Check the team behind it. If they have handled successful projects in the past, then you can consider investing on their new project.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Another Bear Market coming soon? on: April 18, 2018, 10:14:02 PM
Who said that? I see no reliable reference for your assumption. Probably just some wild guess. But nothing is impossible in a market as volatile and unstable as this. As of now, majority of the coins are green but it could also drastically turn red any time soon. We all kkow what happened to the market right after the all time high last year right? But I really do hope that we see greens more than reds. Purchasing time has been too long already.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Smart Contracts can change the world of business on: April 18, 2018, 03:10:53 PM
I agree. Application of blockchain technology to businesses promotes transparency between the company and the customers. Ease of verification and cut of costs are the best features of using smart contracts. Paper contracts can be easily falsified and destroyed, unlike smart contracts that are computer-aided and protected from alterations of any kind. It is great that more and more companies adopt to this new technology, this will not only level up their database systems, but it will also increase their relationship with consumers.
132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain job opportunities are skyrocketing on: April 18, 2018, 02:30:39 PM
Indeed. Right now, blockchain technology has an increasing demand. Many countries are trying to cope up with this new technology, even my country. The university I am involved is beginning to introduce blockchain technology to students. There were even seminars held regarding it, led by a local blockchain-driven company too.

Why is it sky rocketing? Simply because we are already living in the era of computers, mobile phones and tablets. The world is modernizing which is why stuffs related to IT are suddenly a blast.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any altcoins that are independent to Bitcoin? on: April 18, 2018, 01:06:41 PM
It is difficult to conclude because both could happen. If you are an observant, you may notice that just recently, there were months where Ethereum remained around $1000+ amidst bitcoin's drastic and continuous crash. It lasted for a few months. That could justify your statement there, that there is an altcoin, at least one, that is sometimes not influenced by changes in bitcoin price. But it is difficult to really pinpoint because the elevation of Eth also started during bitcoin's elevation.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can any other crypto replace bitcoin? on: April 17, 2018, 01:25:03 PM
I doubt it. Bitcoin is the pioneer coin and all other coins just sway along with bitcoin's price. It will take so much time and effort of the developers to improve a coin that is better than bitcoin. Besides, bitcoin has built its good reputation in the crypto market already and it already has millions of supporters. It will take additional time before people patronize a new coin, maybe more than 10 years.

For me, bitcoin is still the best coin. It leads other coins. Crypto will remain alive as long as bitcoin is alive, and it will stay kicking as long as there will be people investing and supporting it.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk.org - signature spam on: April 17, 2018, 01:03:05 PM
This is how the forum runs. It is not both for information, promotion and money-making. People join campaigns to earn money. Developers benefit from ICO promoters and so do investors, they invite more investors into the ICO. There are several spammers, that is undeniable, but that is why there are moderators for every section. It is their job to assure that the discussion is pure rational.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should you know about airdrops and how to avoid scam on: April 11, 2018, 04:27:00 PM
This is too long. To make it shorter and simpler, airdrops won't really give you profit. They are too little to suffice transaction fees to begin with. This is just an ICOs way for promotion. They will be feeling most of the benefits because more and more people will participate thinking they'll be able to earn big. Well that's a big NO-NO because airdrops are just decorations to attract people. It serves nothing more than that.
137  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your news sources? on: April 11, 2018, 04:11:06 PM
This forum is where I get news because I find it tedious to look for other websites when in fact I can see them here. I can get news here as long as the news posted provides a reference link from a reliable website. This is a good place not just to read news but to know other people's insights about it and to share your own. Just make sure that the news aren't tell-taled. Some news here are basically FUDs and rumors. Do not instantly believe if the user does not want to share his or her reference link. That is probably a scam or a fake news!
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is officially dead on: April 11, 2018, 01:14:09 PM
The whole market crashed which is why you can't make an assumption that it is dead. If it is, how about all other coins later than it? Ethereum is one of the best coins one can invest in. It already has a good reputation. The market is just unstable and low right now, including the pilot coin bitcoin has crashed. It is on its recovery and it is probably long because last year was a hyped year for all cryptos. Eth is not yet dead.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taxes for crypto on: April 11, 2018, 10:33:45 AM
There was a rumor in Korea, if I am not mistaken, that cryptocurrency trading is to be taxed and that anyone who wishes to trade it needs to use their real names as identifiers. This rumor has been circulating around this forum for months already and here is one article that supports it:

https://www.ccn.com/south-korea-plans-to-announce-cryptocurrency-tax-plan-by-june-2018/

If this is true, then the US government can also implement it. However, this will totally erase the essence of cryptocurrencies. Taxation will require personal details from people and we don't want that. One of crypto's features is anonymity, implementing such regulation will eradicate that sense. And besides, it may be difficult for the government to regulate it because it may negatively affect the market. You know how even fake news affect the crypto market, what more if it is real? It is inevitable that people will react to this negatively. They might avoid crypto currency investments.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do ICO's make Airdrops? on: April 10, 2018, 02:03:44 PM
ICOs make airdrops for the sake of drawing people's attention. That is their marketing strategy. When people hear airdrop, they think most of free money without knowing that its equivalent value is too little. They are just being used to increase the ICOs popularity.

Before, I like joining airdrops. But upon receiving, never did I earn a big amount of money out of it. That's when I realized,  I'm a fool.
