OK, more than a teensy bit disingenous.

disingenuous?

This was probably the first (it's highly unlikely for me to spot a mistake) and last time (I won't do it again. I promise!) to correct an eloquent native English speaker.
122  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] ET.DIFF: Future to speculate on next difficulty change on: September 17, 2013, 03:32:59 PM
So price in half an hour or so and in the FUTURE will always be 0.0204 right? If the difficulty levels (< 2 %) too fast you wont sell a single unit anymore. What will you do then? Do you plan to close the asset then? This won't be too soon most probably, just interested.

We're live.

There IS a non-zero chance that 'emma' isn't a scammer (and is just going for a world record in incompetence).  In which case it's scary he has children as his genes will propagate.  But scammer is the odds-on favourite by a mile.

Disclosure : I own nothing issued by 'emma' though I have made a profit trading them profitably for LTC-ATF in the past.  Even when I traded them it was obvious he was a scammer (and I posted saying so) but the idiots around here are SO stupid that you can explain why something's a scam and then sell them it for a profit anyway.  Which is either great or extremely depressing depending on how you look at it.

I lol'ed hard! Moo.Cow has for a long time been my second most profitable security on litecoin-global overall Cheesy (I obviously had no previous trading experience back then).

It really IS more on the depressing side of things.

Released. Thanks for the discount, Kate...
127  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: September 08, 2013, 01:21:54 PM
I'm going to chime in and say that I do not support investing in the CIPHERMINE bonds, but I do support pursuit of relatively safe investments for the coins.
Care to elaborate on what you don't like about CIPHERBOND?

Price swings can be fast, just look at the last days 86€ -> 100€ in a matter of days if not hours. If luck is against us we could possibly lose a lot of money if Deprived is not there for a day or two to adequately react. That's not exactly the safest investment. To me this looks like possible infinite losses and a max of 50% gain.

This is the link to Kate's thread CIPHERBOND btw. Deprived could have linked it Tongue

The bonds' face value is fixed in BTC so unaffected by exchange-rate moves.   It's only the interest that is calculated in EUR.  So we don't face losses if exchange-rate moves, just a change in the interest paid.

Ah I misunderstood that part. All is well then.

My next steps:
    - Extend the wait time.  It's 30 seconds right now, I may extend it to 60 seconds.
    - Speed up the trade engine.  This has been an ongoing process and I'll keep after it.

Does that mean the time between two API trades is 30 seconds? If so please don't extend it to 60  Kiss

What's the situation? People selling like crazy on cryptostocks but no update here. What happened?

Funny how barely visible the news "Bloomberg pledged $80,000 towards the campaign" is, even in the zoomed-in graph (http://ubuntu-edge.info/#total). 32M sure is a lot of money...  Tongue

Are the buy/sell fees 0.2% with 2FA, because my 2FA is turned on and my fees are 0.25% according to the My Trades page?

Apparently the fee-discount only applies if you use 2FA for trades. If you only enable 2FA for logging in, you still pay 0.25%. This should be clarified on the website, because I had also assumed that using 2FA just for logins already provided the fee-discount.

Ugh. I simply assumed .2%, too and didn't check. This sucks, thanks for the heads-up Trillian/Rannasha!

Lookin' grim... Bets are .2 vs 1.05 right now.
138  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: July 26, 2013, 04:38:33 PM
The only reason for DMS to stop trading (other than Deprived quitting) is if the difficulty remains constant, decreases or only increases by very small amounts for quite some time.
Deprived quitting, btct.co going down, bugs in bitcoind, new legislation, big mining farms ceased and 51% attack come to mind. Also that way you don't have to have a btct.co account.

This time the link is right. http://bitbet.us/bet/487/dms-will-still-be-traded-at-the-end/
This is a bet that can be used to hedge against big diff-changes for selling/mining:
Quote
"The fund Deprived Mining Speculation on BTCT (that is: https://btct.co/security/DMS.MINING , https://btct.co/security/DMS.SELLING and https://btct.co/security/DMS.PURCHASE) will still be traded at the end of 2013. "

Canonical's going to need to do a lot of promotions of ever-increasing magnitude to hit that goal.
There's a reddit AMA today http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ubuntu-edge?c=activity
