122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I will support Elon Musk if he creates a stablecoin for Twitter on: January 07, 2023, 06:35:47 PM
I will support Elon Musk if he creates a stablecoin for Twitter

I will support Elon Musk if he creates a stablecoin for Twitter and also pays users for free, If Elon Musk pays $1 million per user per day, it would make the world rich quickly, Moreover, it will also provide liquidity to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I didn't support Mark Zuckerberg because he wanted to become the richest person in the world by creating more assets as a stablecoin and because Mark Zuckerberg wasn't even interested in Bitcoin, I refused to give approval to the US and European governments either. If Mark Zuckerberg had created a stablecoin, it would hardly have benefited users.

IMO, I would not support any coin that would be created by Musk. And if by any chance he would create a coin, if it was a stablecoin, it would mean that it would be a token working on top of the ethereum chain and anything that is built over there doesn't have my support. In case Musk decides to use cryptos as a form of payment for Twitter, he should add Bitcoin. Not some shitty token or altcoin. If he added Bitcoin to Twitter it would be much better for the crypto market than him creating a one more centralized shitty token...
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace - We all should read it on: January 07, 2023, 06:27:23 PM
There is nothing anarchist about Bitcoin. In fact Bitcoin is the most governed system in the world. There are tens of thousands of law enforcement with zero corruption or possibility of corruption called full nodes that are watching this system 24/7 to keep it healthy and clean of any corruption.
Bitcoin was also not created to "demolish" payment system. But instead to create a non-corruptible global money as an alternative to the existing corrupted systems.

If the traffic cop that is supposed to enforce the law is corrupt (eg. pulls you over for no reason and accepts bribes), you don't demolish the entire police department. Even if the whole department is corrupt, you still don't demolish it. Instead you remove the corruption and install an alternative in its stead.

The whole text you shared is just pretty words but empty and meaningless underneath. Complaining about US regime's corruption while you vote for them and pay their salary makes no sense! Specially when it comes from someone who is (or was) part of that corrupt system.

Well, I'll have to disagree and agree at the same time. Even though "there is nothing anarchist about Bitcoin" there is still something that is anarchist in Bitcoin. That is the possibility of detaching from the current financial system and become more independent of the traditional banking model. I say this is totally disruptive, hence having something of "Anarchist" on the possibilities it opens and the threat it creates to the current banking model.
After all Banks fear Bitcoin as it may be their doom, so isn't this something that we can consider a kind of "Anarchism"?
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: January 07, 2023, 05:20:32 PM
There are several possible outcomes for the response. Many will claim that the kick and adrenaline are to blame. In the end, you want to win money, so I believe that the answer is always financial. What could be better than experiencing the thrill of winning money while working from home on your computer? Therefore, instead of earning money, it is winning it. Even though many gamblers view gambling as job, you can never lose money at work. Gambling, however, does. Of course, there may be additional motivations if you spend the evening in a casino. But you never play online poker for fun; it's always a matter of finances.
If you stay for most threads that asks about reason of gambling, it's not all about financial. You probably won't be surprised with most answers in here and it's all about having fun.

Yeah, that's what the answers will be.

But the reality speaks for the truth that when someone gambles, nothing beats the reason that it's about the financial, yeah the money non other than that.

Well, yeah of course it is all about having the chance of winning big that attracts the majority of players in gambling. They can say they only play for fun, but deep down inside, there is the financial urge behind it as well.
Now, you can say that many people gamble to have fun and to try their luck but you can never depart the financial part as the main driver for people to gamble.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 07, 2023, 04:06:51 PM
Rather than creating a new thread, I believe this is the best place to leave a few Tips for the English Football Association Challenge Cup (FA CUP)! So here we go:

Boreham - Wood Accrington

The visiting team is the top dog for this match, however, Boreham Wood has managed to score a few goals in recent games. It should be noted that the two emblems have several problems in the most backward sector. In this way, a very busy match is expected and with some goal opportunities, on both sides.

Both Teams Score

Ipswich - Rotherham

Ipswich Town should have a bigger motivation for having achieved several positive results, however, in this round they receive an “opponent” that provides great football. In this way, I imagine we will see a very opened game, making risking in favor of the ''Above 2.5 Goals'' market a value option.

Fleetwood - QPR

Above 2.5 Goals

Queens Park Rangers is going through a more positive phase, however, Fleetwood Town plays at home and should take advantage of the massive support of their fans to try to achieve a positive result. Having said that and taking into account these factors, risking in favor of the ''Above 2.5 Goals'' market in this game is a good option.

Above 2.5 Goals

Millwall - Sheff Utd

A performance led by the outsiders is foreseen, however, with the two teams are very committed to the offensive process. It should be noted that the two emblems have very weak defensive sectors. Thus, a game with some goal opportunities for both sides is expected.

Both Teams Score

Let me know what you guys think about these tips!

Cheers,

Welcome to the club! It is so nice to be a part of the revolution. When you secure Bitcoin, you are securing your future. Even though Bitcoin has already proven itself as a virtual asset that has real world value, many people still do not believe in its potential and are just waiting to see it dead. Well, Bitcoin is a survivor, as they already deemed it dead almost a thousand times but the truth is that when they say Bitcoin is dead, it is the most accurate time to buy it. That said, congratulations for acquiring your Bitcoin at such low prices!
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Libertarians -- where are they now? on: January 06, 2023, 06:46:05 PM
We all Some still remember that Bitcoin was built based on a libertarian and crypto-anarchic ideology. Although Satoshi only rarely referred directly to politics or libertarianism, he expressed Bitcoin's spirit in various, subtle ways. Maybe the best example is the very message embedded into Genesis block: "Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks". After Bitcoin was created he also offered us this forum. Indeed, it was hosted on another site back then, but it still was "Satoshi's forum".

Many users / individuals back then understood the libertarian and crypto-anarchic views of Bitcoin and they embraced them. Many were also well educated and used to read books written by Ayn Rand or by well known economists which followed Austrian School, such as Murray Rothbard, Friedrich August von Hayek or Ludwig von Mises. (Did you know that even Ross Ulbricht was a passionate libertarian and a very educated person? Among others, the secret word he used to identify himself when he used to talk to DPR was Murray Rothbard -- ever thought of that?)

I, myself, had the chance to put my hands on Ayn Rand's magnum opus Atlas Shrugged, a book of 1356 pages, which is considered, by American readers, the second most influential book, after the Bible.

And I could not let the book from my hands until I finished reading it. It is impressive and, most important, the real message is not expressed by the fiction presented inside the book, but through what you read between the lines...

After I found this forum I used to find so many libertarian topics, written in the past. Or topics written by anarchists or crypto-anarchists. Many of them were very interesting, such as:

- Quick guide to becoming a libertarian... -- written in 2011
- Send all the libertarians to prison and beat it out of them -- written in 2011
- Libertarianism and externalities -- written in 2011.

And the list can go on.

But nowadays you can't see any new topics anymore on these matters. I found a few (and very interesting) ones, which were written in 2020:

- Murray Rothbard Quotes on Libertarianism, Economics, and Freedom
- Ayn Rand Quotes on Capitalism, Government, Philosophy, and More
- Friedrich A. Hayek Quotes on Socialism, Economics, and More.

And I think that the lack of such topics / subjects is a loss, a loss not felt directly, but indirectly. This is because Bitcoin was built on libertarianism and crypto-anarchism. You can't have it wihtout these concepts.

Therefore, I ask: Libertarians -- where are they now? Crypto-anarchists -- where are they now? Where are you now?

Was our Bitcoin completely surrounded and overwhelmed only by those which are greedy and see inside it only a way to get rich? Is our Bitcoin only another way for CEX owners to fill their pockets? Doesn't anyone remember its libertarian principles...?

Topic is self-moderated for avoiding spam.

The ones you talk about, the one who are init for the true libertarian word are still in it. However the world and especially the crypto industry has changed a lot for the worst and now we all have to lay low. It doesnt mean that we have abandoned the general idea, ot means that we will only go out when there will be the need. Bitcoin was made by libertarians for libertarians and it will be always like that.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League - Liga Portugal 2022/23 on: January 06, 2023, 06:37:10 PM
Santa Clara 0 - 4 Braga

great victory for braga, after they had crushed benfica, this time they went to crush santa clara who had no reaction condition, with this result braga is in second place, and has a chance of becoming champion too if benfica loses points, in this condition Porto is forced to win in their next game if they want the distance between them and Benfica not to be too big and if they want to become champions Porto cannot lose points in their next game.

it will be very interesting to see how this competition between benfica, braga and porto will be in the next games because this is a very interesting competition, the 3 teams are over goals teams, they manage to score a lot of goals

What is making me mad withthe classification is that Maritimo is javing one of the worst years ever and is now  the second in last. Even worst, if they do not improve or get some good results they are in to go down to the second division which never happened before. Maritimo is actually my preferred team in the world as they are my homeland team. I just wish they can turn things around and avoid any remission.
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League - Liga Portugal 2022/23 on: January 06, 2023, 02:34:31 PM
Benfica has been in the lead so far without any losses, but last week they suffered their first defeat and gave space to the second  team in rank. I hope that this has been the first of many defeats which will benefit Porto.

Benfica is playing with Portimonense today. The Benfica squad is not at their best as a lot of players are still coming around from vacations and the world cup, so it is possible to see Benfica tripping on this match. Hopefully, this will be one where a draw would be a probable outcome.

The soccer world cup just finished not even a month ago and the Euro 24 is already a thing. Even so, the teams already need to start preparing for the competition as the qualifying phase is still underway. I just hope that this turn Portugal can conquer the cup.
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet is chess matches? on: January 05, 2023, 06:21:36 PM
I have been playing chess since I was in my elementary days so I know how the entire game works. It needs analytical skills and strategy to win. It's good to include it in gambling but one of the hard factors that could affect our decision is the struggle of choosing players to bet on because it's like a mind game so we can't determine their capability easily. It could only attract gamblers who are also into playing chess.
I also understand that playing chess used to be often played with friends to hone my mind and skills to build strategies in this game but I have never bet and don't know how to do it, if this really existed?
I just enjoyed the game first while for other bets in chess I didn't really pay attention and if it was in a casino maybe I would try it to bet.

Well, I actually do not know if it really exists, but this post is just for that. For anyone who knows any site offering this sort of bets to post here. As for betting in chess, I actually think that it could work like any other sports, hence my post.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet is chess matches? on: January 05, 2023, 06:16:20 PM
In gambling that I can be able to analyse, I go for just few ones like sport, I prefer football and table tennis. There are other ones but I prefer those two, especially football which I spend more of my money that I can afford to lose on. I am a busy type but I like casinos too, the one that I prefer more is roulette. I like playing chess, but I can not gamble with my neighbors or friends, there should be some sites that may support chess, but I have not checked that before. What I just noticed is that I have fun with football, table tennis and roulette. If I see any betting site that support chess, I may try it to see how it is, but not likely that I may like it, it depends on the outcome and how fun it is.

Yeah, I actually do not know about gambling sites allowing users to bey in chess or checkers games. Do you know any!? If so, please share as I would love to give ot a try.
134  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Short term trading and scalping on: January 05, 2023, 03:07:48 PM
BTC is on the right place to do some scalping

It is currently trading around its average cost basis. If there is a confirmed break above this level, it could lead to a bullish run. In the meantime, the constant spikes are an excellent ground to do some scalping and get some positive trades.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Would you bet is chess matches? on: January 05, 2023, 03:01:35 PM
Chess tournaments as well as checkers may be a good sports field for the betting industry. I know I would bet in a chess match as I already did that against a friend. We have gathered a group pf players in my neighbourhood. Thrn we started with a betting game where we could bet on the winner ot we could bet on first player going for a check. Ithe experiment worked out fine. So, if there was a site where you could bet on checkers or chess would you go for it?
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a lone Sports Bettor or a Team Sports Bettor? on: January 05, 2023, 08:49:45 AM
A lone sports bettor, in my opinion, is someone who does not rely on another person to interpret the odds and advise them which sporting event to wager on. Before placing a bet, the lone gambler conducts his own study and analysis.

In contrast, a team sports bettor, in my opinion, is a member of a betting community or group on Telegram, Facebook, or Twitter that is led by a self-described expert in sports betting. He or she chooses the game on which to make their wager after conducting the necessary research and analysis on their behalf.

Which of these categories do you belong to and why?

I'm actually a lone bettor as I do not rely on anyones predictions to brt. I may take a look to others predictios as a means of comparation but uaually I do mu own research to place my bets
