121  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.992 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 16, 2014, 10:17:45 PM
Yes. I did some numbers on bitcoinwisdom.com with these assumptions:

There will be a 20% increase of difficulty every time (highly unlikely)
You are running 500 antminer s1's at 200 gh/s, 400w apiece.
BtC/ USD = 624
$/kwh is .21
Antminer is .89 each, no other costs.
With  all that, breakeven for 100 th/s is 81 days, with a 20% increase difficulty every two weeks, and power costs are factored in as well.
try your self: http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator

Thanks for that, Also did some figures on the thegenesisblock. Says up till June will only be profit after that will be in  the negative Sad

No matter how much I could invest the costs don't weigh up the profits + if say I buy 500 S1's within a month or two these will be come old hardware :/

Trying to get the business model right Sad

Looking to open an S1 Farm - my question to you all

is it worth it ?

How much do you have to pay for the miners and how much is electricity?

On average I pay 12.6p per kw - is that good compared to else where ? = 0.21$

Miner cost will be about 0.89BTC or less + I will need setup hardware - switches + racks + PSU (Server)

Looking to built a 100Th/s Farm or higher

Just need to calculate will it pay

Cheers

125  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: EU - Bitmain S1 1BTC - Shipping DHL on: March 12, 2014, 08:42:07 AM
So this ships from China?
And I am guessing you didn't actually buy these miners, you are only doing Bitmain a favor by getting rid of their old stock in order to make room for the new S2 which is already mining?

Don't get me wrong but I only pay around €35 for customs.

What I want to hear is what do you have to offer me in regards of the S2?

Correct

Bitmain currently declares $250 USD Smacking you with just under £100 per ant on customs which makes the real value per any worth BTC1.235

While I sell them for BTC1 Inc delivery and almost zero custom fee and still full warranty ?

Like I said the S2 will be dispatches once stock arrives to me which is being set up the now - we are as excited as you all are so please just wait few more weeks then all will be released for the S2
126  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: EU - Bitmain S1 1BTC - Shipping DHL on: March 11, 2014, 06:33:34 PM
I've just paid DHL online £141 they sent the Customs VAT and Duty invoice amount to my mobile. I pay it straight away so it doesn't hold up the delivery. £141 is for 2 X S1's.

Jacko

Yeah DHL use a pretty good system like that, yeah customs fee suck  a lot so will fix that using the supplier low value.

Also if they are sent from UK they will have already had VAT Paid
127  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: EU - Bitmain S1 1BTC - Shipping DHL on: March 11, 2014, 05:45:41 PM
I know Bitmain had a problem with Customs and the declared value of the Computer Game Gateway and it's not his fault.

A declared value of $100 would give me a fee of around £25 per single S1. 2 S1's like I have coming in a day or so would be a Customs and DHL charge of around £35, so that's a pretty good deal breaker as the price difference in BTC between yourselves and Bitmain is the equivalent of £0.75.

If something went wrong would we send the units back to you or back to Bitmain.

Any chance of the specification on the S2 and a timeframe for it's arrival with you and a ball park figure in BTC. That will give me an idea of more S1's or wait a little while for the S2.

Thanks.

Jacko

Bitmain still declares them as computer gateway but sadly he has  increased the value to 250USD per ant so EU customers can get massive custom bills.

DHL sometimes have zero custom fee's at 100USD the other day I paid £3 for a handling fee and last week I got 10 with no custom fee's. Correct direct to Bitmain

S2 is 1Th/s coming out in April - as soon as our stock arrives we will dispatch Smiley Improved cooling and power Smiley Price we are still to confirm. You have to take into concideration the time delay S2 is still 20 days away while we can ship S1 today

I have two coming in a couple of days, I hope. They have just left Hong Kong. I have just used my last of my BTC but as soon as I mine more I'll buy more miners. S1 if the S2 isn't ready.

That sounds better if you can get away with zero Customs fees.

Thanks for the info about the S2. 1TH/s in April is so cool, and an improvement in power is great as my electric bill is near £300 a month. Wife is biting her nails and giving me dirty looks when I tell her not to put the kettle on LMAO.

Stock within the U.K of S1 and S2 is a dream come true CroverNo01.

Cheers,

Jacko

You have two coming from Bitmain via UPS? If so let me know what you get charged on import TAX just so I can update my records as previous was £102.48 per Ant.

Yeah zero or under £15 on custom fee is good for the customer and keeps the TAX Man happy.

Like wise myself, cost on lecky is pretty high in the UK.

S2 Spec sounds good and Bitmain is sure to release another update as well

That's the plan anyway Smiley Next day delivery for S1 and S2 Smiley Bitmain is going to stop selling the S1 in may
128  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: EU - Bitmain S1 1BTC - Shipping DHL on: March 11, 2014, 03:02:26 PM
are you shipping from UK?
Direct from China

We will soon hold stock for EU within UK of S1 and S2 within 3 to 4 weeks Smiley

Hi CroverNo01,

How are you offering a lower Customs charge. I live in the U.K. and my DHL bill for 2 S1's is £140. Also how about warranty issues with any failed parts etc.

Interested in some more info please mate.

Jacko

Hi, We use DHL and have a safe method for declaring lower value, Yes Bitmain has since increased the fee for EU Customs charge using UPS. This is not Bitmains fault but I now give help to offer a alternative for shipping from china.

Warranty stands with Bitmain - 90 days - overclock is not covered

We support all our customers.

So we will have the S2

Hi Folks,

I have partnered up with my supplier in China to offer EU customers low price S1.

You might be asking why choose me when you can buy from Bitmain direct?

Well currently Bitmain offers UPS to worldwide but customs fee is very high. £100 per ant

We offer a low value customs fee via DHL Bitmain price is BTC0.998 BTC Our price BTC1

For this you get delivery within 3 to 5 days

Stock is not an issue and we can ship pallets of the stuff see photos below for a recent customer of 150 units.

Orders dispatched within 48 hours Smiley

Thanks

S2 is coming within 7 days!? I do hope S2 will go with 28nm, otherwise we will hardly earn profits from them.

S2 has been confirmed early April, and yes 28NM or 55NM with new design and cooling + power

Cheers

139  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 28nm ** 1T ** 900W【JingTian miner】 in production !!! on: March 07, 2014, 08:06:21 AM
Bitmine have already put up a list of authorised distributors: http://bitmine.ch/?page_id=5204. If the hardware has been originally acquired from an entity not on that list, it's most likely counterfeit or stolen.

You may assume all you want, but we have yet to see a statement from Innosilicon about this issue whereas bitmine have already made their position quite clear. On the current balance of probabilities it would appear these Chinese machines based on the 28nm CoinCraft A1 are indeed manufactured from stolen tech.
The message you keep quoting was removed which is why I said it raises a number of possibilities. While I appreciate your suspicions bringing to light these allegations, you are unable to conclusively say anything. I've made no assumptions, I just want a clear statement from bitmine regarding this manufacturer. The claims regarding stealing or counterfeiting are as you are no doubt aware very serious allegations and if they do not come forth with these allegations and stick to only non-specific cautions on their site, then I have to give JTminer the benefit of the doubt. So depending on how (and if) they respond, I will be getting the hardware working with an alternative power source and continue down the software path which is all I was originally interested in - or - I will hand the hardware over the AFP.

If you check the news http://bitmine.ch/?page_id=863, you should know bitmine is just in co-operation with some Chinese company. They just bought the chip from the Chinese company and name it as "Coincraft A1" chip. The Chinese company can also sell the A1 chip. They can call it any name they want like "ABC A1" chip. So the question comes: Does the "Coincraft A1" chip means "A1" chip?I don't think so. This is something like Mcdonalds can make their hamburger and KFC can make their own too.

We do NOT buy chips from bitmine and have no business with them.

From that link:
Quote
Designed from scratch, Bitmine’s Coincraft A1 is a third generation Bitcoin Mining IC developed by Bitmine in co-operation with a team of expert engineers from Innosilicon.

Doesn't say bitmine bought the chip from a Chinese company.

I'm assuming that the R&D funds came from bitmine and it's customers and that Innosilicon was contracted by bitmine for R&D, ergo, bitmine retains IP rights of the A1 chip. Unless the use of the A1 chip in these Chinese 28nm miners has been authorised by bitmine, what we're seeing here is corporate theft and entities being in possession of or receiving these miners, liable for a criminal offence.

Precisely, we are the owner of the IP inside the A1 chip and the major contributor to the know-how of the inner workings that led to its development. We are aware of things like the one happening here and we even made a press release news concerning this matter:

http://bitmine.ch/?p=5178

Whoever purchases these does that on its own risk and may be liable in its own country since we hold IP on that.

Yes, that's China.

The possibilities raised regarding the removal of that message should come second to conclusively identifying who removed the message.

Based on that quote from the CEO of bitmine (source of R&D funds and owner of chip IP) and the fact that Innosillicon (contracted design house with no foundry), JianTian, JT, Dragon, LA1THS, etc (assemblers) are not on the authorised distributors list, I can conclusively say that these Chinese machines based on the 28nm CoinCraft A1 chip have not been manufactured from hardware legitimately obtained from the owners of the chip IP, bitmine.

Bitmine can not be expected to issue a statement for every manufacturer that pops up with hardware with bitmine tech inside. I assume, therefore, that's why they've put up a list of authorised distributors of bitmine tech http://bitmine.ch/?page_id=5204. However, further confirmation can only be a good thing. For the sake of everyone involved I wish you all the best in this endeavour and encourage you to publish the request for clarification from bitmine and any associated correspondence here in the public domain ideally in another thread.

"I can conclusively say that these Chinese machines based on the 28nm CoinCraft A1 chip have not been manufactured from hardware legitimately obtained from the owners of the chip IP, bit mine."

A few things i'd like to point out:

1) Bitmine said they were the owner of the ip inside the chip, it doesn't mean only Bitmine can sell the chip. IP inside doesn't mean a lot. you need a bunch of money to turn into a real chip.
2) Bitmine said they are the vendor of "Coincraft A1", and they own the trademark "CoinCraft" , so only Bitmine and his authorized channel can sell "CoinCraft" A1, right?
3) JTminer never said they use "CoinCraft" A1.
4) while JTMiner are day and night busy producing their 1000+ machines, someone are wasting time on nonsense issues
5) i happen to know, there is a video showing their mining facility. it's serious business, and large investment. bitcoins world has lot's scam. but this time, give some respect before you are 100% percent sure, and mind your language.
