121  Economy / Goods / Re: Car for sale in the UK! Being sold for BTC on: August 03, 2014, 01:05:13 PM
I've just popped into the Co-Op at Erdington on the way home to Cannock, there's a "Wanted" card on the customer board (it did have a date of 2weeks ago).
The person is after a Mazda for spares and repairs.

(as soon as i saw the pics I thought that's in brum)

ads I hope my post was not thought to be negative in any way...I think it's awesome that you hit it that hard!

I'm just confused by the numbers because I suck at finding blocks (1+Ths for 4 months none found).  Like in your best share column it says 137M but the difficulty is way higher than that (I think that is what is prompting the alt-coin questions).

Hope your luck continues solo mining Smiley

Not at all..
I should have been a lot clearer.

I did hit 300+M whilst on bitsolo but that didnt get me a block, so that's what confused me regarding block awards..

The only thing I want to figure out now is how to mine FRC this way, it gets so far but keep getting the same error.

123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Antminer S1 solo mining FRC on: May 22, 2014, 04:09:33 PM
After successfully setting up my S1's to solo mine via p2pool for BTC I would like to try the same for FRC.

Despite having all the pool info, running everything as Administrator, when I run the command:

Code:
python run_p2pool.py --net freicoin --give-author 0.0 --no-bugreport --disable-upnp

It will start up fine, go through the status / success process but then pops up with the following:

"Couldn't link returned work's merkle root with its handler. This should only happen if this process was recently restarted!"

When I had this doing mining BTC it was due to not running bitcoind & command prompt in admin mode, but I'm doing just that with FRC.

Any ideas what would cause it?

Oh and I'm on windows 7.
124  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antminer S1 solo mining - is it working? on: May 22, 2014, 03:49:31 PM
hmm you don't know if ghash was down and that found block was from another pool that was alive while ghash.io was down (ie an altcoin)

Nope ghash was not down, and as it's S1's they only mine at the pools I tell them to mine.

If you look in the last column headed LSTime. That gives the last time it connected to the pool.

The other two pools "NEVER" had a connection, hence zero Accepted, Rejects etc.
125  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antminer S1 solo mining - is it working? on: May 21, 2014, 04:35:38 PM
That is kind of like playing the lottery.  Your average time for that setup to find a block is a little more then a year at current difficulty.  You could find a block tomorrow or you might not find one ever.

P2P pool makes more sense for me.

Thanks for reply
Yeah I realize the luck factor just got bloody annoyed when I found a total of 3 blocks in the space of 9days whilst mining on ghash.io, so I though sod it - lets try solo.

Just wanted to know if that actually looks right and it is solo mining correctly

Are you like...100% certain that it was you who found those blocks....a block every three days with 180Ghs is an insane amount of luck.

as the OP says and further down (plus the images) I have 5 x Antminer S1's that comes to about 850Gh's.
When I went into the the webconsole for each of the miners 3 of them had found blocks, and I only had .ghash,io showing as live as my pools - heres a screen shot of one of them:

https://i.imgur.com/mCumXBB.jpg that was 2 weeks ago if that.
126  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antminer S1 solo mining - is it working? on: May 21, 2014, 06:19:46 AM
Interesting setup.  You're using p2pool locally with no connections to the network.  I'm assuming you've got bitcoind running on one machine and that's connected out to the internet, and p2pool running on another machine with no connectivity to the internet.  I've never seen it used this way, so I can't tell you explicitly whether or not you're properly solo mining.  Having written that, it certainly appears to be executing properly - the payouts look like a block reward, and the expected time to block of 12600 hours would seem to be pretty accurate for your 180GH/s.  You must have your very own share chain that is being created, with only your address having valid shares in it... the difficulty is silly low because the entire pool is 180GH/s.

Most people when they solo mine just point their miners to the bitcoind and have at it.  I like how you improvised and setup a p2pool network of 1 Smiley

The guide I used was found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512042.0

Yes i have bitcoind running currently on the same pc as the p2pool, i was receiving a lot of problems due to not running everything as an admin inc cmd prompt.

The set up is 5 x s1 = 850+ghs and that was my concern was it doing what it was supposed to do, especially with the difficulty.

Hi all,

I've got 5x S1's currently setup to solo mine (I think) and I just wanted to check, that it is actually solo mining correctly.

Here are some screen shots.

I followed a guide on here to mine solo with an S1, it works perfect for BTC but when trying to mine another sha coin (frc) it returns the following:

"Couldn't link returned work's merkle root with its handler. This should only happen if this process was recently restarted!"

what would cause it?

Anyone?

Sorry about this. Guess its meant for people with a decent level of IT knowledge.

This is my networks.py:

134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer S1 SoloMining Setup/Easy Solo/Own Pool Setup! on: May 08, 2014, 12:15:23 PM
Strictly speaking, this can not be considered solo mining, another recent p2pool hashrate very low, so it seems worthwhile

ok, but that is not what I've asked, a guide has been written, and I'm asking for clarification.

It's not just BTC im interested in doing but other ALTcoins.

Can you assist?
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer S1 SoloMining Setup/Easy Solo/Own Pool Setup! on: May 08, 2014, 11:52:24 AM
I'm following this guide but still keep getting: "Local: 0H/s in last 0.0 seconds Local dead on arrival"

I think I'm getting confused over the IP addresses and ports.

My conf file is as follows:

server=1
rpcuser=ads2003uk
rpcpassword=RANDOMLETTERS
rpcallowip=192.168.0.200
rpcport=17444
port=17334

My S1 pool entries are:
192.168.0.200:17334
ads2003uk
SAMERANDOMLETTERS

and still nothing, where am I going wrong?
In the past 4days between my 5 S1's I've found 2 blocks on Ghash.io (thats what the console tells me) so I'd like to have a crack at solo with them.

So to the UK price will be:
UNIT 1BTC (roughly £380) + £28 customs.

and how long will it take from order to ship and is tracking provided?

Price is no longer 1BTC I match Bitmain price - When you order it will be dispatched within 24 hours tracking on same day delivery with 2 - 3 days max 5

Thanks

Can you guarantee what will be quoted on customs deceleration for low to None customs charge, I don't fancy paying an extra 110+ on top

For uk people....
UPS are issuing invoices for the period of 26th Feb to 6th March, stating not enough charges were paid as they now have the correct fees through from customs.

Do not pay them, challenge this in writing (do not call them) the price you pay upon delivery to driver is all you are required to pay.

You can also state to request a copy of the signed contract between you and UPS that states you will be rrequired to pay extra. As no such contract exists you are not liable for any additional funds.

Remember everything in writing as you can contest this should it go further.
