That's called gambling. You don't have to buy a whole bitcoin. Buy bitcoin with the hundred bucks, buy bitcoin the next time you get $100, and the next time and so on. Thats a winning strategy. |

Every coin is now in bloodbath, that is your answer. Everything is red right now. We are still waiting BTC to stabilize and then we can expect rise of the price.  Cryptopia is making the matter worse with their withdrawal issues. Hopefully we can get listed on a major exchange after the airdrops. |

Most of the coins on coinmarketcap will become worthless. A coin can be worth millions one day and worthless the next week if the buy support disappears. Maybe 5% of the top 1000 coins will have atleast 50% of their marketcap in 5 years.

You don't have to worry about exchange xyz supporting callisto. Control your own private keys and you'll be fine. If there is demand the exchanges will list it.

CRAZY blockchain sync on this wallet. Downloaded the bootstrap and instead of auto-importing and updating from the last 100 blocks, it still goes through block by block from 2014? Wow... that's not very efficient.
You still have to "download" the blocks from the bootstrap file. It is much faster then syncing without the bootstrap. Try the Verge wallet with the blockchain download and let me know how you think it should go... this way or their way. This way to me is insane. 2+ days to sync? That's not good viability and will deter most folks from moving forward with it. I'm stubborn, so I won't let it win... but wow. This is dead shitcoin, so I don't think its a big deal. It was "created" by the scammer max keiser on his youtube show. It was a classic pump and dump scam with a lot of classic scam moves. Instamined, hard forked to reduce supply and so on. |

I don't think there is any exchange have made any statements yet. But its still some time left. Storing coins on exchanges is not smart anyways. Two exchanges have lost funds the last weeks. And it will happen again. |

Ethereum is much more risky then litecoin. Litecoin is solid, ethereum might collapse if some unforseen event unfolds. But ethereum might outperform litecoin. I would buy 70% litecoin and 30% ethereum if I had to choose between those two.

Desktop wallet with a backup of your wallet.dat. Storing coins on exchanges is unwise. You can loose access to your account. And most exchanges will get hacked or shut down. If you don't control your private keys you don't really own anything at all. |

Cryptopia don't have any caps. They got stolen. There have been created new coins to reimburse cryptopia. They just need to update the wallet to the newest release and provide an caps adress, but no one seems to be able to get in touch with cryptopia. |

Question on DNotes vault update: Do you consider two factor authentication via SMS? I guess that there are a lot of people who can not (are not able to) use QR codes.
Hi AlCamus, we hadn't considered using SMS authentication at this time. The current 2FA uses Google authenticator, which the user can either scan the QR code or enter the written code into the Google Authenticator app. We would certainly be interested to find out if there are users who are unable to use this form of 2FA. My guess is that the phone would not be a smart phone? Yes, or people who do not want or do not understand how to use a google app. I just think that there should be (or is needed) another option in two-factor authentication to secure the DNotes Vault account than Google Authenticator. DNotes Vault operates like a bank account and banks usually use personal identification numbers or SMS as two-factor authentication. Or is there perhaps once in a while a confirmation via email requested? I didn't checked this yet. SMS two-factor authentication is not secure and should be avoided. Google to find out why. |

Run it's own network, which I can't even currently sync. Also did not have access to a client for weeks after the fork (ninja mine much?)Lol. It is the same coin. It just got a new name. Is that really hard to understand? Dash was launched as Xcoin, became darkcoin and ended up as dash. Verge was launched as dogecoindark. It is not uncommon for coins to rebrand. Edit: The devs should definatly start a new thread, but is better to wait for cryptopia to start trading. It is not a rebrand, it is a fork off. MEOW is a four year old brand. Lynx is bCash. It is rebranding. And it is a hard fork. Why would you choose not to upgrade? |

Meh, I lost 3 million buying it on Cryptopia.
As if I am about to start buying it again on another exchange.
It was created new coins in the hard fork to reimburse cryptopia. The new coins would be given back to those with caps on the exchange. We just need to find a way to distribute the coins directly to the affected users. But it will be hard to get solid proof of ownership. |

@Tranz, Contact Trade Satoshi , they already have 3 markets for Caps you just need them to update the wallet and resync. Good Luck.  Thats also all Cryptopia had to do, instead they ignored the update request from tranz and delisted it No way I will trust them holding my funds, I'll never shop there again Can't really blame them. There was a real btc loss during that hack and the offer to them was not btc but cap, which could of been equal but wasn't apples to apples equal. Only option I see right now is tradesatoshi. - How do we get them on the new wallet?

How did cryptopia loose any btc during the hack? People in this thread and other users lost bitcoin to the attacker. I bought 2 million caps when the attacker dumped his coins. The btc I paid for those coins was lost to the attacker. |
