great update with the accredited investor verification for byteball icos!

Not great at all. No. 95 on the coinmarketcap.com. It is the response of the investors for the recent "great" updates. They voted with the sell.

I don't think that byteball is oversold. The price could be down for many reason.
I think how they do anounce things are not crypto speculative standard.
Byteball news look like a rumor, It does not reach big audience because of weak marketing.
Another reason is the liquidity, only a joke of exchages are abailable to trade, cryptopia was froze for a long time, bittrex didn't alow new account for while, and so on...

Another reason is that our Leader Tony, may want to keep thing this way, it is his style of working and he feels confortable,so we to take it of leave it. Eventually and organically byteball will scale in usability and the price will follow.

About the name, Byteball can be named any name, it is the best tecnology so far.

And Please,

https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/3kj5dw/what-is-an-asic-miner-bitmain-monero-ethereum

If cryptocurrency is disrupting finance, then powerful computer chips known as ASICs are disrupting cryptocurrency. Their mere existence turned securing the Bitcoin blockchain, which in the network’s early days could be done at home by average users, into a massive industry that eats up unholy amounts of electricity and generates ridiculous profits for hardware manufacturers.

Now, these specialized chips, called application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), are coming for other blockchains. On March 15, the multibillion dollar Chinese company Bitmain tweeted that it was accepting orders for the Antminer X3, a $12,000 ASIC that would be good for only one thing: Mining Monero and other digital currencies secured with the same algorithm. Only two weeks later, on April 3, Bitmain announced the E3, an $800 chip made specifically for mining Ethereum. ASICs like the E3 and X3 are controversial in the cryptocurrency community. Although they are both more efficient at mining compared to graphics cards and CPUs, they are also far more expensive, in short supply, and arguably a driving force behind the centralization of computing power (and the financial rewards from mining) on cryptocurrency networks.

I just signed up and will buy bytes. The ios app wallet is not available in the app store, is that correct?

https://github.com/byteball/byteball/blob/master/building-for-ios.md

Building Byteball for iOS
Apple takes cautious approach to new cryptocurrencies and didn't approve our app for the App Store (yet). Fortunately, if you own a Mac, you can build and install Byteball for your iPhone yourself:

Download Xcode (4.5GB), if not already.
Sign up for Apple Developer Program (if not already), it's free.
Download Byteball Xcode project, it contains all the source code necessary to build.
Unzip and open Byteball.xcodeproj in Xcode.
Select a Team in the project properties.
Connect your iPhone to your Mac via USB.
Build Byteball by clicking Play button in Xcode.
Read more detailed instructions (for another app). It is one of the easiest ways to try open-source apps that are not on the App Store.

Lots of Altcoins took off recent days. I wish Byteball will surpass $500 this year. Based on all of it's recent good news and more promising stuffs to come as tonych planed, the scenario has high probability to become true.

switch.  Since January, it also allows to enable KYC checks in the same way.  Both tasks are a (small) part of what investment bankers do in the traditional investment world.  If the ICOs are to evolve in this direction, the first steps are already done.

I see. Do you also have a civil asset forfeiture bot in the making?

For the success of this coin, a 1:1000 split (listing in MBYTES) would be a lot more useful than a  (brrrr....) KYC bot  Embarrassed

GBYTE is going nowhere while some crapcoins on CMC go through the roof. It is because of the small circulation that results in a tiny market cap. Like Google, only the top results count, nobody goes to page 2....

Are there any plans to support a hardware wallet - Ledger or Trezor? It would be awesome to secure my Bytes.

You don't need it. Byteball has the best secured wallet on the world.

We currently receive WCG poins only. That's no problem for me. What are the plans with this token? Will they be converted into Bytes in the future or does it only exist for beta test reasons?

This token is like a badge of honour, to show your participation.
You also receive Bytes but the amount is very low during the test phase. This will change when the project will be officially released, the ratio is still being discussed.

why not create a token with some value added like privacy, or honor or honour wall of fame.
Same thing can be done with salvation army, giving them honor token for their volunteer hours ...

What can we do honor token? Sale to someone than want some honour. If we buy the honour token from salvation army, more people will "volunteer" with their time, and us with money.

 Grin

The value of the token is in the community that support it.

Salvation Army also need a token, let bank the unbank people...there is a lot of talk about the "banking the unbank", let's do it.

For example, I would buy a Salvation Army token but not a wcg one.

the biggest problem of bitcoin is scalability and it will never scale no matter how hard they try, It is very slow for mass adotption.

The only way to scale bitcoin is to fork byteball.

Byteball can easily be top 3 coinmarketcap, if not number one. Must of other things are speculative coin, copy coins, pos token, all of them together compose an "Indirect asyclic Graph" system in my opinion. If we could merge all the transanction of the entire altcoin back to bitcoin it will be veeery... long to process. That is why inderecctly all these fork occurs, it aliviates all the pressure that bitcoin has making transaction.

Byteball is the concluclution. It is the new era in Crypto.

The past week has been great for the Byteball holders as we continue to witness the increase in price of it together with BTC. I know that most of you are here in this thread with questions regarding the technology behind this coin or other stuff but I just can't contain myself due to its price right now. It really appears that we have hit the bottom and is looking for a great reversal in the coming weeks (if BTC doesn't f*ck this up).

Looking forward to see this in ATH in the very near future.

I have faith in Byteball and am sure we are going to see something awesome as the year progresses. I certainly hope that our   incorporation into  World Community Grid  looks great from a media coverage  perspective and gives momentum to Byteball.

WCG is a big community, which can give value to new asset to be issue. It would be nice to see the new asset listed in bittrex, so people can trade it for bitcoin.

Hi there.
Is it possible to trade on the byteball binary market a commodity like crude oil, natural gas, gold, coffee, apple stock, or a fiat currency like euro?

That would be a link of the crypto's world and the traditional "future market".

Is it possible or it may cause you some legal trouble?

Thanks ...

My idea: why do not we start a WorldCommunityGrid (WCG) Byteball team. For calculating small tasks, participants receive WCG points automatically. Via a Byteball bot, members can connect their Byteball address with their WCG username, and then receive free bytes from the bot - say, once a week - depending on the amount of WCG points earned. WCG provides a simple API with which the data can be read into the Byteball DAG via an oracle.
...

why we should give away gbytes to someone that don't ask it for. They won't value it. And they will sell right the moment you give them. That what happened to bitcoin holder.

Many people here complaied about the moon cancelation give away gbyte. And I think they are right. They are asking for it and they will valued, it is like interest payment.

The idea is to incentivize users to use the idle computing power of their computers for what appear to be good causes, by giving them bytes. As I see it, they are asking for it by registering and making their computer resources available.

Don't forget that Bitcoin holders were actually the first ones to get the bytes (for free).

Given the behavior of the market during the distribution period, the distributed amount was actually never enough of an incentive to hold. At each round, the price always dropped more than the percentage that was distributed.

There seems to be no right method of distribution, let's just give these new methods a shot.

I could be wrong or right, so do you. But this is not way to make decision. Tony may have the power on his hand to distribute the way he thinks, but he shouldn't. We here have the best interest to make byteball succed.
There must be away where all byteball community participate on the decition making by voting for certain proporsal.

We don't have nothing to do mining or fake researches, or promizes.

I would sponsor sport event, where our product have been used. Give the byteball to football team winner through smart contrant. Do something related to us.

Give free insurance to flight delay as an offer.

On the binnary balls, subsidise the whole winner, like instead of paying 89 % pay 100 % of winning predition as an offer for some time, until the market get some traction.

Just focus, and sponsor something related to us.

My respect to Tony and his team.

Idea For A Sustainable Alternative To The Signature Campaign To Airdrop Remaining Bytes

If possible, the bot could also accept donations, so that the campaign could also be supported by donations and not only by the remaining bytes to be distributed. I would give a donation myself.

Do good and get bytes!
What do you think about the idea?

This is a great idea!  We'll do it.

Ripple did this several years ago. This was fun, but they stopped it because this giveaway was gamed like hell by guys who had access to HPC clusters. I got a lot of XRP renting AWS compute instances Smiley

I don't really have a problem if people fire up aws instances and use the compute power for WCG and make some BB, up to a point it doesn't reduce the incentive for others to run one boinc on their personal PC. Ripple boinc giveaway ended up being a PR disaster  because they abruptly stopped the giveaway when people still had unused boinc credits to claim. That left a sour taste for me. Don't change the rules mid stream without good reason, and give people some advanced warning if you really need to change things.

Don't give it to someone else, give it to us. However to give 10 % every full moon, it is a lot for the market digest it.

I think give away every full moon should be re-intruduce at a 6 % a year. and pay 0.5 % every full moon to byteball holders. instead of Tony's team give away to someone else and  they don't plan to use it for marketing and research in our own dag project, which is new, and it may need more developers and testing.

My respect to Tony and his team.

Did too.  This could be easily managed by only making payments to Byteball verified accounts (Jumio), and limiting the payouts to a reasonable amount of computing power. What Tony needs is a lot of people with small rigs, not a few people with huge rigs.

Yes you maybe supporting bitcoin or litecoin mining indirectly or directly, behind the name of WCG.

I would stay away from it. It is burning electric power. Some of us support Byteball because it is enviromental friendly.

I would support it with a WCG Token, but not with Gbytes .

Very very good, you know, the best part of your tutorial is where you put your email for donation.
People in the so call twitter campaign are using the crypto address, I don't understand why.
I think "in byteball" twiter campaign using a registered email should be a must.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3218859.0

It is discusting to see a cryptographic address in byteball at this point.

Idea For A Sustainable Alternative To The Signature Campaign To Airdrop Remaining Bytes

I have been following Byteball for some time and I think the end of free coins just by holding the balance was the right decision. However, I do not like the new way to award coins for posts via a signature campaign. Apart from the fact that the benefit to the project should be limited, users who have high levels and probably already own Bytes are preferred. To get new users -- which should be the goal -- this way is rather not sustainable.

So I have another suggestion where everyone can participate and do something good. I have long been an active member of WorldCommunityGrid where you can leverage your free computing power for meaningful projects and research, e.g. fighting cancer and diseases, and other important things. The software of WorldCommunityGrid named BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) is quick and easy to install (all major operating systems and mobile phones are supported). Anyone can set up the software in a few minutes and contribute processing power.

The effort is not big. In principle, only the bot would have to be written. I would have liked to set the task, but unfortunately I'm not a great NodeJs programmer.

If possible, the bot could also accept donations, so that the campaign could also be supported by donations and not only by the remaining bytes to be distributed. I would give a donation myself.

Do good and get bytes!
What do you think about the idea?
This. Distribute the rest of the bytes through POW (This is essentially what this method is - POW). Love the idea behind helping charity/s as well

we need more ideas for adoption than for distribution.

https://steemit.com/byteball/@byteball.market/website-integration-with-byteball-wallets

The latest upgrade of Byteball Market offers users to authenticate themselves in order to keep track of their assets and issuing identities, make modifications and publish asset names to wallets.
The authentication is somewhat different to what most of us are used to since it does not require a sign up procedure entering a user name, email or password. Instead, users simply scan a QR code with their Byteball wallet and in the next moment the user is authenticated and logged into the website effectively pairing their device with Byteball Market.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / How about free transactions for a while? on: March 27, 2018, 05:15:48 AM
Can byteball offer free transaction fee for a year or two? To increase adoption. Or maybe offer it indefinitely. It works for Iota and Nano.
I know fees are very low but as a marketing campaing it is powerful to say, it is fee free.
Why not!
