Ouch.  What freq did you overclock it to and for how long? Auto fan?

656Mhz, I moved it to a new place because it is too noisy to put at home, it has been running for less than 12 hours since move. Fixed fan rate until this noon, I see the temperature increased to 79 then I switched to auto fan.
That is a shame... is it a board hash down or control board?.. if board.. it could just be seeking freq...or power can cause them to loose a board... keep doing cold reboots (thats pull the power out the PSU and restart it.. I have alot of S9's and i learnt the hard way.. self taught...
Ps are all 3 boards down? or just 1?

I hope that it is not off topic but I am wondering if anyone else is thinking to get an Antminer Z9 mini from the second batch. I know that it is risky and chances to ROI might be very low but it costs now $850-250 (coupon) = $600 and the chances of Zcash forking this year are low. I like the miner: low power usage, low noise, small. In the worst case scenario, I will have $600 paper weight (or I will lose the prepayment). What do you think? I cannot imagine running S11 or anything else requiring > 1200 W with the noise level > 76 dB at home (I will actually need another upgrade to my fuse panel and I am risking the wrath of my wife  Grin). What do you think? I was contemplating getting FPGAs from Senseless or Mineority but it is a lot of money and unknowns. In my mind, GPU mining is dead (I am mining practically only Ether now)

Buy S11 and make an upgrade for wife (Ver.2)

I bought a 6pc Antminer Z9 mini from Batch 3. With coupon 480USD shipped.
But you have to wait up to 70 days .. And the Z9 mini is not quiet
whats an S11?

Anyone mining ZEL or BTG successfully?  If so where..
This Commercium(CMM) Looks interesting...
Thanks

Am getting around 27 to 30ksols on 2x z9 mini clocked to 700.  It is fairly hot here in the UK right now though.

What's everyone using PPS or PPLNS?
antpool pps works

Auto Switch on miningpoolhub is working well? Or nicehash?

Well, the Equihash auto switch on MPH was effectively down for about 1/2 day yesterday because the admins missed the upgrade of the ZEN wallet as noted by several members including @crazydane here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4404847.msg41098236#msg41098236

That meant that LOTS of folks were mining away on ZEN and were/will not be paid for their efforts. However, things appear to be fine now so I have switched back to the auto switch URL (us-east.equihash-hub.miningpoolhub.com:17023).
whats that auto switch on MPH is that auto exchange from zen to btc? and will it send it directly to btc coinbase?..
Thanks

I'm running 2x Z9 Mini off 1x APW3++

Will the one APW3++ be a limitation at all when running overclocks?

I do have another apw3++ But didn't bother opening it as it seems on paper to be able to handle it.

I'm getting 60 to 63c on the chips running at 637freq and fans on auto (3600).  What's everyone else's target temps and safe working limits?
I have 2 Z9's in one APW3++ Both running 725Fq  pulling 16.5 sols each at 66 chip temp and pcb temp 52 on Bitmain (Antpool Zec)
I had mine at 80 chip temp earlier but that was located right besides some S9's which are running at 88/90 today... 70-80 is completely fine
Btw my fans are at 100%

Anyone OC'ed to around 700-800 and know how much watts its pulling? Got mine on a 240~ v PDU without a meter i dont think theres a wattage meter on antminer is there?

running 2 on a 750 watt HP server PSU -- one at 650 and one at 750mhz.. hasn't blown up yet.
Do you think you can run 2 x Z9's overclocked to 675 from one APW3++?
Thanks

yes, you can
I have had temps of 80...what temps are you guys getting?

I am set up on Antpool mining Zcash with my Z9, strange the payment status is showing "Paying" all day and not paid out. have you any idea why its doing that?..i am over the minimum payment threshold also  Thank you
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z9 list of working pools on: June 26, 2018, 08:19:46 PM
I can confirm that PPNLS payouts with Antpool is not working but PPS is. Also my Freq is 643 & I'm getting an average of 15.4ksol

15.4 KSol = Almost my 3 rigs full of 1080TI and Titan Xp, but less power efficient :-)

Significantly, I'd estimate that overclocked z9 is running at under 500W.
Do any of my fellow Z9 miners know why?  , I am set up on Antpool mining Zcash with my Z9, strange the payment status is showing "Paying" all day and not paid out. have you any idea why its doing that?.. Thank you
137  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 FW with voltage/fan/frequency control on: June 25, 2018, 08:59:06 PM
Thanks for this detailed guide, I now have a miner running stable at 16.6 TH/s with no HW errors.

Ah brother be careful.. it might be hashing like crazy but be careful of the temps. its not the HW errors that are the issue its the temps....read above^^
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z9 list of working pools/Fork updates on: June 25, 2018, 08:28:55 PM
What are the potential risks of running at full overclock -- 750. Dropped shares? Brick it? Does the z9 mini shut off it the temp gets too high? At 750, the three chains are averaging about 62 degrees. It is a cooler day today, and wonder if I should turn it down on one of the 100 degree summer days coming up.

My thoughts , I run S9's, and the Z9 I installed today overclocked to 675Mhz 14.8 Sols, I could not believe how cool the air is flowing from the front grid!.. the only thing that will kill an overclocked miner is the heat (burning the boards out) i see that the Z9 has a PCB temp reading as well as a Chip temp reading, this is good for monitoring board temps. looks fine to me at 15 Sols, plus its not got the power flowing through it like an S9 (they get hot)
Thats just my opinion.
139  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 FW with voltage/fan/frequency control on: June 25, 2018, 08:21:55 PM
^^ Not a bad idea to keep speeds down. One concern would be the higher current the chips will be drawing and connections to the buck inductor. Some of the miners have rather poor solder connections. The connections on BOTH SIDES of the boards should look like this and be completely filled with solder:

[...]

Many times soldering on the backside will be very marginal. If you think you can reflow the connections be aware that because of the very thick copper leads you will need a very high wattage iron - at least 100w.

Agreed 100%! short term gain long term loss!
140  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 FW with voltage/fan/frequency control on: June 25, 2018, 06:16:17 PM
I tested this firmware with a few S9's and none of them report the temp with this firmware. Not sure what he put in it that is causing it but on some machines you cant read s9 temp

In all honesty I like the idea that i can hash 14,250 TH to 15,500 Th BUT at what cost?.. last night i reloaded the Auto Adjust Fq back onto my S9's, I fear that i am reducing the life of my miners by alot!
for the few extra pounds i prefer to have peace of the mind that the temps are good. its not the ASIC temp to only worry about its the boards that will overheat and burn out. So until its better known ground i am going back to standard.
