121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: October 08, 2015, 01:51:05 AM
It doesn't matter.. price will adjust. For 100 satoshi the premine is cool.

Also premine has nothing to do with decetralization.

It is supposed that you don't need trust when it comes to cryptocurency and blockchain.

When you add trust you add scam. Sooner or later.. Same think with goverments, banks and religion. Good luck to believers Smiley

That's sort of my point exactly. The 11 million coins are just a giant value destroyer and we can't trust that they go to any project of value. It would be ok if the dev fund was reasonable but with a few hundred thousand coins in existence and 90%+ premined in a 'fund' it's just not even worth paying attention to this project anymore.

I mean common, EXP is down 99% since it started trading with 395,193 mined and 11 million in a 'dapp fund' that can and likely will dilute the market 25% on a weekly basis. The market has spoken, and it absolutely amazing that the devs don't listen.

I find it sad, cause I do believe the devs are competent. Just apparently don't care about preserving any value in the project, or having anyone mine (mining Hash power is down something like 80% in 3 weeks)

What is obvious to me is that some group manipulated the market early on. Some "Mrpump" guy came in here and claimed it was his group or some whales connected to him. This created a very high starting price and a problem for us as that had to correct, and of course some will blame the devs when we had absolutely nothing to do with that, other than working on the project that some saw they could use to manipulate the price with. I had no idea that was the situation until someone literally came into this thread and said it was. The positive is that they saw value and this is long term project, and in my personal opinion at least, will have much more value in the future, the negative is that they created a situation where the price was too high at the start. Hindsight is 20/20 of course, and this is also why there were so many miners early on, but we still have plenty mining EXP now.

You are incorrect that the DAO fund will dilute the market like that, 1/220th of the DAO was used to cover some initial expenses, and pay the one bounty we owed for the branding/logo. We do have a large reserve for the DAO that will be released with smart contracts and with in wallet voting, but that won't happen for some time, and when it does it will be capped to a maximum of 1% per month, or .33% per core for a total of 1%. Smart contracts mean it will not be possible for any 25% market dilution, and if we were dishonest, obviously we would have sold more than 1/220th off, and anyone that thinks logically about this can see this is the truth. Sure, we could burn much of the DAO off and some would like that, and it would be great short term, and if there is a way for POS interest to fund the project with a smaller reserve this isn't out of the question later.

As we are doing some custom solutions they are taking more time, but we believe they will provide something unique rather than just cloning the same basic GUI wallet, or cloning the same basic block explorer. We have been in cryptos and very public for many years. We are not going anywhere and we have lots of connections in the world of cryptos. Once we add enough value in, I think people are likely to realize the project is severely underpriced, and then I think we will gain more attention. One of our core devs is a Dapp dev, we have tens of thousands of real followers between us on Social media, and we have time to work on the project and incentive to build it. We definitely care about preserving value, but not faking it, so whatever the market determines is just fine and we can build it up from there. As for hashing power, that will change as profitability changes, and if/when the profit goes up, more miners will surely mine more. Although we have plenty of hashing power to support the network just fine now.

As experienced DevTeam you should figure out that something unusual was happened. Just sort of responsible  you owe to community. I am not angry and do not blame anyone. But in fact this kind of situation produce negative feelings related to cryptocurrencies.  Unfortunately - one more time.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Soil (SOIL) - Fair Launch, No premine, based on Ethereum on: October 06, 2015, 01:52:03 AM
Firstly SOIL should be listed on smaller exchanges such as: C-CEX and BLEUTRADE (my favourite!).

Than it could be much easier to meet requirements of BITTREX, CRYPTSY and finally POLONIEX - currently the best crypto exchange.
These two steps are necessary. Honestly its really hard to believe that someone from "big threesome" would add SOIL immediately.
As a user of SOIL we should show them we are determined to be listed, Dev Team should show they are clever. As they said: Without proper eligibility, you cannot work in this profession.

stats.ethdev.com is not a "normal" explorer - it is not automatic: nodes are listed there only if their owners had explicitly done some actions to appear on that stats. It is NOT a "network status viewer" tool.
Better look at etherscan.io, for example. And, also, oneether.com have their code open-sourced - you can use it for soil!

yeah, id noticed my favorite pool at oneether wasnt listed there. i looked around for the source code for one.chain and one.pool online, but couldnt find them on github. the release schdule shows they were released on september 29th, so theyre out there somewhere in the wild. ill have to do a deeper search thru github and google tonite for them.

i actually love oneether's setup. ive been mining on their pool from day one of its release, and aside from a few hiccups (a couple days with several hours of downtime, a sticky hashrate that was fixed by updating ethminer to the latest release...) its been the best pool ive seen, and it would be wonderful to set up something similar for soil.

at least we have a couple weeks remaining before launch to get that accomplished. the one.chain page is very simple, but sometimes simpler is better, at least insofar as the sort of information i want to make sure is readily available and transparent.

etherscan.io looks amazing, the wealth of information available there. ive been looking at a lot of block explorers the last few days, and i think we will definitely need one based on ethereum platforms to work the best for us. we have had discussions with one developer that seem very promising and ill be looking into those sites you provided with much greater depth tonite. thank you very much for the information....

Amazing initiative. Keeping crossed fingers to make it happen.

Also I would like to notice that DevTeam made great work according to TestNet. The task was completed with dispatch. All users involved into it was contributed. Good job!

Hello users,

Is anybody here? Somebody wants sell his BOLI?

Please message me.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Soil (SOIL) - Fair Launch, No premine, based on Ethereum on: October 03, 2015, 10:25:21 PM
I guess DevTeam would like to  prepare best way, otherwise launch date would not be so far away.

TestNet works well? DevTeam, would you briefly report how the things are?

240 was broken !!!

I guess btc will not pass this level through the weekend.
 What's next step?
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: http://rigs.online - rent (out) Dagger Hashimoto (Ethereum/Shift/Expanse) Rigs on: October 02, 2015, 12:50:36 AM
Any news...?

Anyway, over 50 rigs might be rented -> new record. Good job.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] 1st ETH fork | UPDATE v0.4.0 | GUI WALLET on: September 29, 2015, 06:25:38 PM

This coin should go PoS as soon as possible. Whenever any PoS Ethereum text code is released SHIFT should go PoS. PoW is just crazy wasteful and expensive to maintain.

My inner voice talks previous speaker is absolutely correct.

But what about the premine? It's 250k of 630k, or about 40% premine right now.

That would be a coin killer.

No matter which path will be suit for this coin, without goodwill from onwers side it would be better stay neutral.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: September 29, 2015, 04:22:28 PM
It is horrible when buy order demands are pretty unvisible, despite you look through POLONIEX.

If market works that way I mean market said NO to ExpanseCoin actually.

130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: http://rigs.online - rent (out) Dagger Hashimoto (Ethereum/Shift/Expanse) Rigs on: September 28, 2015, 09:30:06 PM
Sorting by MH/s per BTC would be even better  Wink

Yeah, point taken.

Also next upgrade should increase rent period. 7 days or even 30days, then we catch another new abilit
ies - as longer you rent one ring the price may be decreased - economic mechanism. That would be more effective and stable rental system for both sides.

Sure, keep inform us.

Thank you.

Another useful feature might be sorting by price.

It would be much easier to find out the most profitable rig as well.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: http://rigs.online - rent (out) Dagger Hashimoto (Ethereum/Shift/Expanse) Rigs on: September 28, 2015, 10:00:02 AM
Hello,

Great initiative, Glad to see that.

How about adding new features?

I mean I would like to make pre-order. I have found rig which is suit for me, but already is unavailable. Can I make pre-order? It would be GREAT !!!

Also in addition, how about AUTO RENEW option? It also would be GREAT!!
Wish all bests!
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] 1st ETH fork | UPDATE v0.4.0 | GUI WALLET on: September 27, 2015, 01:47:18 PM
I dont think people understand. Personally i do not care how much shift is worth atm. I do not care if you dont want to invest nor if people want to mine. We will still continue to develop. For me personally, its a hobby. I have money, so i dont need to earn anything from this. It seems that some people think that the developers of every currency in crypto actually works for them, without even try to do anything to help.

Have a good day.

I guess  some people tried to help this project, Some people tried to send feedback, some people was well-intentioned.

Now it is late. Well-promised coin fell down. I guess it is temporary (- 250-300 % value 24h), but SHIFT will not be on top again. What a pity.

Why so shy here?

Silent everywhere, seems like greatest advisors left behind.

Now it is clear
Could you add  explanation to official page? All users should be able to find information quickly without mess and untrusted atmosphere. That the way how panic behave.

Best wishes,
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] 1st ETH fork | GUI wallet | NEW BLOCK EXPLORER | UPDATE v0.3.0 on: September 23, 2015, 09:44:45 AM
I'm closing the SHIFT Pool due to Dev's request in about an hour or two.

Please switch your miners either to solo mining or to the other ETH pools (Expanse or Ethereum).

Thanks

oc

Sounds suspicious.

In the past few hours bears are beating bulls here.

I am glad to hear that, ShiftTeam.

139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: September 22, 2015, 02:11:36 AM
Question as i dont fully understand diff changes

Why is diff still high when the net hash has significantly dropped (50GH at some points to now 7.5gh)?  I thought it would be lower than it currently is

Its just the way eth retargets.. sorta slow, we could probably look into speeding it up though.

It looks like  DigiShield from DigiByte(DGB)coin. It works similar way;  higlhy tractable to network hashrate. Affected some time later even it should stop yet.

The main problem might happen when some big user(s) may join and rejoin in small amount in time (for example multpool) -> then this procees will  may constantly be repeated.

Speeds it up (if possible) should be great advantage. Hopefully it will work as Dev mentioned.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] 1st ETH fork | GUI wallet | NEW BLOCK EXPLORER | UPDATE v0.3.0 on: September 21, 2015, 11:33:16 PM

The premine needs to be put into an escrow arrangement like expanse, otherwise shift will lose the clone wars.

Voice of reason.

Personally I know premine is safe and would not be dumped by DevTeam for sure.
Howeever another person could not find it easy as me. So, in that point it would be great to follow EXPASNE's way.

EXPANSE HAS A HUGE PREMINE, basically unlimited amount of funds compared to what is being mined. In SHIFT the premine is minimal and will not be put in a smart contract. We will however use a third party escrow.

Regards

It would be really nice if you could publish official statement connected to this issue. Lots of users could stay tight. Another words - more transparency is always a friend of success.

Currently some questions are still behind curtain, some users may wonder what's behind yours behaviour.

It is just general impression how It looks like outwardly.
