Really good job.

Anybody ordered without any issues from NinjaTech?

https://ninjatech.org

I completed an order for a new S1 on Friday and I am getting emails the order is completed, but can't seem to get a tracking code from them after submitting a couple of requests via there online support.

Feels like like the wild, wild west dealing with these vendors.

Thanks

124  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Where to Purchase Miners with CC or Paypal on: March 23, 2014, 09:58:34 PM
Looking to get some antminer s1's as they look to be the best bang for buck at the moment.
Do not have near enough BTC to purchase one with btc or I would so tried 112bit.com but escrow will not accept us - can transfers between paypal/cc
So that option is out for me.
Anyone know of trusted websites to get some equipment for anything besides btc?

Already tried getting some btc off localbitcoins but everyone is trying to get $700 per btc still in my area.

These guys took great care of me for my first s1, and yes they will take your CC.

Hope this helps.

125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you explain BTC to a friend or family member that has no idea? on: March 22, 2014, 10:21:06 PM
I have spent the last 18 years as a computer consultant doing work for all kinds of companies. Here is one thing I find to be the most frustrating thing about my job, there is no hope for some people when it comes to technology. The fact is; there are some people (mostly women) who just don't get it or can't grasp it for whatever reason.

These are the same people who when I am helping them over the phone or even at their desk say things like "When you say click, is that a left click or right click" or "Turning the computer off is this button right here on the monitor right?" or "I love having this coffee cup holder (DVD drive) in my desktop computer".

You will NEVER explain it to these people and they will never get it. Just a fact of life.

Just tell them to find a financial adviser, invest in gold and pay of there debt, and move on, you will find less stress if you do.

Why? It is only 100 gh.

I just purchased an Antminer for $563 USD or 0.988 BTC at time of purchase and it mines at 200 gh overclocked. Shipping was free.

What am I missing here?

Thanks

127  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CryptoSlax Linux Mining Distro on: March 17, 2014, 03:19:43 AM
Linux Mining Distro is such a great idea. I setup a lot of Hyper-V clients for my customers. But we always need some physical hardware to RDP into the Hyper-V client. I like 2X OS for this, as I can set it up on an old used computer and it makes a perfect thin client desktop.

How cool would it be it this mining distro allowed RDP once setup. So I could build a thin client for my customer that gave remote access for his employee and mines coin at the same time. I don't even think the end user would notice the CPU usage as all of the work is done on the Hyper-V client. Or even better mining only starts when a remote connection is not detected.

Something to think about?

Have not been able to get my AntMiner S1 to show up in MultiMiner. It there some steps I need to take in order for it to show up? Anything need to be setup in the backend? I got it working and it is mining just fine, but would like to see it in Multiminer.

Thanks for any help in advance.

129  Economy / Computer hardware / Jones gear on: March 13, 2014, 10:10:12 PM
Just wanted to say thanks to Jones gear for refunding $198 on a Antminer after I purchased from them and they noticed a little confusion on the pricing from a prier email. So not to give to many unimportant details, the point is, they (Jones Gear) refunded the money and did not need to at all. It was totally unexpected, so I just wanted to post it here and say thanks for the good customer service. No i'm not trolling or are affiliated in any way. Just wanted to say thanks.

If a supplier is doing a good job we should let others know.

Sorry that happened to you, some banks like US Bank here in Colorado suck to work with.

My current bank Wells Fargo has been pretty good. I went and opened a new checking account to add to the one's I had so I could have a single account to move USD in and out of the exchanges with out touching my main established accounts.

When my banker asked me what it was for I told him about Bitcoin and crypto exchanges. His supervisor came over and got into the conversation, I was pretty amazed to be talking to 2 bankers, that had not even heard of the Bitcoin market much less what it was. When I told them there could be a day when these digital currency's could challenge there authority, they seemed to start talking notes. Kind of funny.

The meeting ended with, "thank you sir for your continued business. Oh and by the way did you want to open up another line of credit? Looks like our computer already approved you for another 10k"

Oh, sure. LOL

So over 2000 years ago the Bible predicted the you would not be able to trade for goods and services without the mark of the beast. Think about that 2000 years ago, when you could just walk down the road and trade your apple for an orange. So the Bible predicted a system 2000 years into the future like what we have now.

Think about that. I'm just saying....

Huh?  We don't currently have a system like what is describe in the bible as the mark of the beast.

Can you tattoo your Bitcoin public key in a QR code to your hand? Think about it??? Some day we will not be able to buy and sell with out the mark of the beast, I mean public key. The two might be the same..some day.

I think as a newbie I find it interesting to look at the calculation charts that show how much computing power you need. Then look online to see how much that will cost. Then see that the hardware if ordered today, will maybe arrive around June 2014. And then back to the calculation showing me that new hardware I could purchase now and get later will be useless because it gets harder to mine everyday.

Who the heck created Bitcoin? The Joker?

I am Batman! LOL

Great question! I would love to know how some of you found Bitcoin early, and do you think you will use that kind of knowledge to invest into the next explosion of value on whatever is the next big coin?

As a computer guy I have had access to a large amounts of computer power over the last 18 years. So as I am just finding out about this, it kills me to know I could have, just maybe been rich. I am old enough to have owed the first stock in Microsoft and Google, so I feel I missed yet another ship. I have been married to the same wonderful beautiful woman for the last 30 years and I have two really great children with children of there own, so maybe these are the riches I have gained. But man I wish I had 10,000 Bitcoins.  Grin Grin Grin

I am having fun learning this, it is all so new and really interesting. I will be building my first GPU mining rig this week using 3 high end cards and also running Hyper-V clients. So I hope to get 5 complete miners (1 GPU and 4 CPU) out of one computer. Going to be fun to try and make it all work.

Rob Cheesy

Are you planning to GPU mine bitcoin?  If you are, then the power cost alone will make it not worth it.  You may want to try an altcoin with GPU mining

First time I have seen that link. Thanks.

Yes. I will be mining other coins. Seems like Bitcoin is a little too out of reach.
