Need more volume over at ATOMIC-TRADE

Great site so far, they have a lotto that pays fees (shares), they are just small and need a lot more people. And I almost feel bad for buying BC so cheap from them.

Also they have more altcoins then mcxnow however works just as fast as they do and the overall winner is BTC/USD. Great starter exchange come over and play!
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | Launched | scrypt | PoS | No premine on: February 27, 2014, 05:27:47 AM
WANT TO BUY 50K BC, I have been mining since first hour but want to hit 100k, difficulty is going to stop that i reckon.

I don't have any BTC, but i'll pay a Canadian with Email Money Transfer or Paypal or anyone else with Paypal...  No scammers, I won't send first unless you have a high rating.  I am new to this forum but could do it through ebay and I have great history...

Thanks.  PM me your offers, or if someone will sell me a BTC so I can buy off exchange i'll do that too!

Can do USD->BC->USD (BLK) at Atomic

What is with the huge swings in network hashrate?
p2pool got a 600 a 700 and a 450 m/hs in the last hour and a half or so, murdering the pool for small miners for sure.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | Launched | scrypt | PoS | No premine on: February 25, 2014, 08:43:14 PM
I've had 7 in the last 30 minutes alone.

Double check your address man
quadrachecked. Address was correct. No payouts at all, even in payout graph

Does your conf looks something like this:
Code:
  {
 "pools" : [
        {
                "url" : "stratum+tcp://freebtc.eu:8336",
                "user" : "address",
                "pass" : "x"
        }
]

If you are using a bat sorry can't really help you there but I did notice there were a few people on the pool pumping in but having no payouts, not sure why if everything is good on your end.

I had been mined here http://freebtc.eu:8336/ for 1.5 hours and still no any coins, nor unconfirmed, neither confirmed. I'm very sad

What I am about to say is not the final decision. I am merely thinking out loud and see what you all have to say about it.

The way I see it we now have 2 options:

1. We stick with scrypt, remove KGW (to keep the nTime attack from happening) and update the source to the latest version of Litecoin. This would keep the "anomaly factor" intact (which is what this coin is all about). In order to combat the issue of "skipping the 0 blocks" I can raise the transaction fees significantly so that the 0 blocks will have more value. This will not deter multipools in any way but will reward the dedicated miners a bit more, encouraging miners to solve 0 blocks. If raised high enough... solving around 10 "0 blocks" could be more rewarding than solving 1 Anomaly block. (once again I am thinking out loud)

2. We move to scrypt n-factor, remove KGW, and raise tx fees. This would do most of the above mentioned and keep multipools at bay (for a little while longer). The only issue I have seen with scrypt n-factor is that it needs updated mining software, and has been said to really ware on GPU's and CPU's (tho I have yet to see the evidence).

Both options will have no effect on current CGA balances (except at the direct time of the update, which damage should be minimal.

Please let me know what your thoughts are on this.

Personally not a big fan of n-factor myself however if its a standard one in use there are plenty of modded miners out there that will work.
So from my PoV I personally don't care so long as it is not months to do a fix.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CGA] Cryptographic Anomaly - The Elusive Coin on: February 24, 2014, 05:53:34 PM
No matter what to see the devs being proactive lets me keep my faith and trust in the coin and since that is what makes a coins value (aside from a few other varibles) I will keep mining it.

I hope this can be fixed within a week though I understand that amount of work and testing that needs to be done.

139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CGA] Cryptographic Anomaly - The Elusive Coin on: February 23, 2014, 09:28:38 PM
If diff > 3, then every block can be an anomaly, and therefore all an attacker needs to do is raise the difficulty above 3 while holding 51% of the hashing power (setting the difficulty as desired would be fairly easy - again by abusing KGW and nTime), to ensure every block is an anomaly.

Aren't you glossing over the all an attacker needs to do is raise the difficulty above 3 while holding 51% of the hashing power a bit? Exploiting this aspect of the flaw is out of the reach of the vast majority of miners, and even so, not a lot of attackers could use it simultaneously. In practice, wouldn't this just result in an arms race among attackers vying for the 51% making the whole thing not profitable?

I think he was looking for an flaw in the coins design and the best he could up with for manipulation is a 51% attack that can take most (not all) +1 blocks.

We all know and are aware a 51% can be bad however how often does one happen? Now yes If I joined with two of my buddies we could do a 60% attack on the network just because not a lot of people have caught on to the value of this coin. It does not mean I am running out to join forces to control a coin.

However really with any coin under 1ghs network will always be able to be controlled by a group if desired so the best thing we can do is spread the word around and get more miners on board.

So his big reveal nothing that is new really.

FYI: If have been digging into CGA code a bit more, and if my tests are successful today, I plan to release code that will allow predicting and forcing anomalies on CGA.

It will look like this:
- An odd # block is found.  The script can immediately tell you if the next block is an anomaly or not.
- An even # block is found.  The script can immediately tell you what nTime values to use to GUARANTEE the next block is an anomaly.

Even if you were able to do so, you couldn't predict if you generate the anomaly or if someone else does. That is mining crypto currency... Everyone is competing for the same block at any given time. As soon as you put more hash power into CGA the longer you have to wait unitl you can find that "right moment" to jump into the network. I can see you raising your probability, but actually generating an anomaly EVERY TIME you jump into the network will not happen even if you have +50% of the network hashing power, that would make your odds 1/2 (a coin toss). So while you may of figured out a way to save your mining rigs from mining the 0 blocks, It doesn't mean that you will get an anomaly every time... And if everyone had the script you speak of then your script would go haywire as soon as everyone "jumps" at the same time.

so what you are saying is that if everyone simply uses that scrypt this coin will work as predicted?
why not implement that scrypt in the pools then?

What would happen is that the difficulty would go crazy. Every time the net hash rate would drop to almost 0 and then sky rocket every 3rd block. I have no idea how KGW would react to such a thing.

Whats the worse? We get some insane diff? It would make the coin even more elusive then. Like master ninja elusive.
