Yes, at least in current situation, bitcoin is not qualified to be fiat for many conditions. But if some mechanisms be developed then it can be qualified for becoming fiat. I am not actively spending the bitcoin. I only use it when I have to. I hold most of the bitcoins for the long term.

I don't think that I will keep my bitcoins idle forever, I mean it would be useless to keep on holding without using it, we are earning bitcoins so that we can spend some day, So If price goes higher I would definitely sell my coins.

There is nothing to guarantee the future price of bitcoin and so is gold. No one ever guarantee that gold will be the most stable currency back in few hundreds years ago, it is the same as bitcoin today however if you do the simple match than you would know that 21 millions of bitcoin would not be enough for just only 1% of the human's population
Gold has been used by humans as a form of currency for the past 5,000 years or so. It has been the most stable form of currency ever since. Even the fiat currencies used to be backed up by gold, before the gold standard was removed. Can you name any form of asset or currency which is more stable than gold? You won't be able to do that, because there are none. Yes, gold is the best and the most stable currency as an investment, majority of people would choose gold over bitcoin as they are aware gold will never disappoint them. |

To be safe, get two Bitcoins.
two bitcoins on 2014 is also not enough,on that year maximum prce is $600 and its really not enough for 20 years,you need 100 more bitcoins. In 20 years, I think the price will be around $100,000 each, so 100 coins is quite a lot of money to me. really? Take a look on the chart of the Bitcoin price last November and see what happened after that pump. I would be very careful with such definite statments, especially if there are not backed by any arguments. Why not 4k$?  What stops btc to outbreaks to 1k and to stay there once after halving pump? $4000 is quite optimistic. I would think the price could be around $2000 to $3000. It depends on the adoption. That's true adoption can make a difference, if the adoption is higher then the price would be much higher then we expect, any thing above 1k is profitable for majority of us. |

This is the beauty of bitcoin. Whoever trusted got profited. when the price got decreasing everyone left after selling what they have earned. The one who believed of price rise just been holding, they get the 10-15$ growth profit.
