"I don't think a $20 bounty for proof of new dispensaries is going to change a whole lot."
Jahv: The ONLY reason MJC will be worth more than zero in the long run, is the somewhat fading idea that the price will be backed by a commodity, and useful for exponentially increasing numbers of people, which occurs if and when the dispensary count increases exponentially. Its time to face facts that there is no unique technology whatsoever associated with MJC, and personalities do not provide value to this or any other medium of exchange, except that these personalities are actively leading widespread adoption. Make MJC useful to 50 million new people in the USA, by giving them somewhere to use MJC within a 15 minute drive, and you will become a well deserved millionaire.
Adam: Your profile picture screams cool guy, amateur, which scares off investors and puts a ceiling on the price of MJC. Great work but that's the deal.
MJC is failing, it really is, but it doesn't have to. It has a clearer path to exponential price growth than any other coin due to the commodity value and its unbanked community, a perfect storm of success for the first coin hungry and focused enough to grab it.
When all else fails, fresh tactics.
I bought very low, and for the reason u mention; and Adam seems to me being more interested in carclubs; I am selling some to reinvest in other coins. I myself use cannabis and I see a massive potential in coins like these and I really want to support coins for cannabis, but what Achru writes is true as I see it :/

The price is going to keep dropping until Adam addresses the elephant in the room
Adam needs a PR guy/gal. I respect him and think he speaks his mind, and he knows his stuff, but he also says stuff he should not be saying that hurts the price. I would have to agree

Lets just start fresh towards our common goal

Adam, There is only 1 of you. Its too much to ask for you to focus on xx items for everybody. You don't need an upgraded wallet folks, you need a MJC that is being used routinely OUTSIDE of Bittrex, and for a valued commodity.
I have 2 decades of experience in markets. A map pinned with the location of dispensaries that accept MJC, updated weekly, adding a modest 1 or 2 dispensaries weekly, is all that is needed to make this a $5 coin in a year. You can put 10,000 hours of work into wallets and everything else, and it will be a waste of time compared to a growing dispensary map.
Appreciative of the time you have devoted. Don't become discouraged, this really will be a BTC challenger, a true international powerhouse, with a growing map.
-J Archru
Adam, forget about wallets and social media for a bit an listen to Archru he knows how to market. This is a great suggestion and should be easy to implement. true I think its a great idea. Adam, I'll back my words with this: 1. 1000 MJC transferred by me to anyone who shows proof of a new dispensary accepting 1 MJC for 1 gram that is located 20+ miles from any other dispensary offering the same. 2. 5000 MJD transferred by me to anyone who shows proof of a new dispensary accepting 1 MJC for 1 gram, that is the first to offer such an exchange in any new state in the USA, or the first in any another country outside of the USA. 3. Geocommons.com makes excellent maps like this for free. I would rather another volunteered to maintain the map, but I will if need be. This is the direct path to exponential MJC success, close driving range to every county in every legal state, it really is. It will be frightening how this could take off, serving an underbanked growing industry, if that map grows steadily. Otherwise, this will bleed to zero, nothing in between. Obviously, someone will have to continue the hard work of supplying new grams to the new locations routinely, but the payoff will be swift and absolutely stunning. Yes, the above will cost me a lot of money, and it will make all of us substantially more...try it. High regards, J. Archru I think its a great idea. Need to try I´m with u! really good idea

Is adam taking u up on ur offers? What is going on with the radio show, the working together with dispensaries, trying to get them on board with MJ??

Thanks for the good words and show of support. Greatly appreciated.
You are welcome Adam, I am a very active member of the Supernetwork community. We have a radio and over 900 member in slack. I always talk good about you there. My friend lootz that runs the Radio sent you an email asking if you like to have an interview on his Radio, He is a very good guy and he can promote maryj in our community. You can join slack and chat there with Lootz. You will be amazed what is all about. I don't know my wish was if Maryj join Supernetwork, here you can find out what it's https://supernetslackin.herokuapp.com/http://www.supernet.org/index.phphttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=762346If you need help I can introduce you to all the major guys there +1 great idea! get on it this is a good idea, take him up on it. The SuperNET Slack is full of great crypto industry folk - not to mention it would be huge to become a SuperNET coin for not only the price but for progressing development.

well i'm not qualified to lead this outfit, as i have no technical expertise required. however i think that we all agreed that the gaming aspect and the 888 ticker were more than enough to move forward with. I'd like to see online texas hold em poker rooms that people could use octo with. this is the only way to get any utility out of this coin i believe. it draws on the foundation that we ALL bought into as a good idea back when things were going great for this coin.
therefore if anyone can nominate a developer to code or re-purpose an existing online gaming platform to use exclusively with octocoin (or maybe not exclusively), then i'd say we have direction, and a plan to rebuild value within this coin. Like i mentioned months ago, I played a text-only version of texas hold 'em in IRC, and it was probably the most fun i've had with crypto in years. getting a working poker portal is step #1. But I feel that the true untapped market is betting on REAL videogames. games out there that already exist server-side (Hearthstone for example) which would avoid necessitating developing our own anti-cheat platform, which would be biting off way more than we can chew. All we need is to figure out how to read some metadata from the game, and then you can have 2 parties who place a bet in escrow, and with some technical wizardry, voila, you have a real online gaming gaming platform.
I've been saying this for years, and octo could make it happen. We just need step #1 which is a simple online poker portal. the big fish are real gamers, who number in the hundreds of millions, and who all have graphics cards themselves, to continue to mine octo to bet with, which would give it more value.
ALL: please sign off on this idea, or present an alternative. If signing off, please nominate someone who can code or re-purpose an existing online poker platform to work with octo.
I´m with u all the way, and what u guys decide to do for a dev. If there´s a slight chance that the coin could survive, i´m all for it.

Happy New Year OctoBrothers Right back at ya

If all this means that our octocoins will actually be worth something again, then imo. it´s a no brainer! What do we really have to lose, that we havent already? I hope we can get the ball rolling again and at least try to do something with it
|
|
|
i've always said that we should push ahead with the gambling aspect. this was the core focus of octocoin to begin with, and we all got onboard. then months later, people started worrying about 888.com somehow sueing us over infringement (what? i know right?). in short, i've heard no good ideas on how to proceed, anything that seems like a good idea gets shot down, and we have nobody that has the technical know-how to actually get it done, even if we had direction. we're a group of passive voyeurs, just watching, waiting for someone who knows what they're doing to take ahold. hence the positive over-reaction whenever someone says they're going to do something with this coin, only to turn out to be lies and bullshit anyways.
the most fun i've had with this coin was in IRC, someone made a text-based poker game, octopoker or something. i think it was this coin, it might have been cloak. anyways, it was actually fun! and a REASON for this coin to exist! im my opinion we have no other direction but this, we should play to our strengths and get an online poker system working with this coin.
honestly, what do we have to lose?
1) find a dev who can build a poker app 2) get it back on bittrex
sounds like about as realistic gameplan as i can come up with. and i don't even think we could get this done. only edric has done anything with this coin, and he's AWOL.
so say "i sign off on this" and let's get it moving.
I can agree with that! I just dont hope that changes will mean that all the octo we have will become useless :/

Hi, my wallet is out of sync since 3 days ago. "No block source available". Is the blockchain down? someone else?

Mine synced last night

Also,
next time you're having a planning meeting with edric, ask him who exactly it was gave him 24 hours mining proceeds (10k Octo back then) without asking for anything in return to prove that his pool payouts were on a parity with FusionHash and to help him out of his negative balance hole. I guess that counts for fuck all in the new dog eat dog Octo forum.
And since you're such an honest upstanding individual it would be a nice gesture if you'd agree to match the 100k Octo I donated to the kids charity in here. In the meantime I'll just keep buying it back on Xnigma shall I. [/quote]
So u would rather just declare this coin dead or? At least some people are trying to come up with a plan for it to try and survive, where are UR ideas?

Yeah here too, thanks to those of u working for octocoin to stay alive

I wrote abit with BK on twitter and I still have high hopes in Naut! BK said he is in for the long haul and I am too! I hope/think this is one of those coins that are/will be worth alot, and I think BK could be one of those people that has the right connections to make this big. Maybe im naive but only time will tell
