Hi Guys

I have 4 A9

One of them has a faulty control board.
I must send the control board to company for change.
.
Can I Connect the hash boards and fans to the other control board ?

I mean I did it and 3 hash boards has green led but not mining because no heat is coming from fan air.

Dear customer, thank you for your feedback. Any problem for technical problem you can send email or add Skype miner_support@innosilicon.com.cn We will try our best to help you asap. Thank you.

IF one or more boards in the faulty work then perhaps you can connect comm-cables AND fan-cables to working A9 and having it control 4-6 boards and 4 fans.

I hope this will work since the control-unit have extra fan an comm-cable ports.

So...maybe you should post a picture about your performance graph with bitmain psu also Wink so we can see the different Smiley

I read the entire thread and I found somthing really interesting for all A9 Zmaster owners.

A lot issues come from the Innosilicon PSU.
I don't know about the speed but I can promiss you that the stability issue come from the PSU.

So if your performance graph look like this try a Bitmain PSU :

If my post help you, could you consider the possibility to give me some please :
ZCL : t1eFdVeWk5ZTHLALz5T1uKypNmhN2TRFKot
BTCP : b1MaXXTaR9QDZoNL9n3pLkwvkREU5Xk4B6s

I look for the graphic with new PSU but it look the same so I make a mistake.

I think this not meaningfull enough.  Undecided

Sorry for that!

We all make mistakes!

And it could have been vital and important findings, so thanks for trying !!!

if you try  a pool like:
stratum+tcp://zec-eu1.nanopool.org:6666

you will probably see a much smother curve aorund 50ksols/s.

if you try :
stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3336

you will likely see a curve more like the one you have and perhaps even a bit more above 50ksol/s!

but...

Avarage ksol/s per hour should be more interesting!
And as few rejected shares as possible!

with nanopool.org żou will probably see that your A9('s) resets quite often because memory fills up quite fast which I believe is because your A9 miners log fills up much faster then when using prohashing.com

That will likely also be something to consider.

You have to test different mining pools to find which pool is the best for you and understand why you earn the best at that particular pool(and poolsettings).

At the end of the day it should be maximize your earnings per hour(or day) that should be of interest!

good luck!
Thank you for you help.  I will try an eu pool. Smiley

"I will try an eu pool" ? ? ?

I recommend you use "ping" to check which mining pool server is the closest to you on internet.

For example:
https://zec.nanopool.org/help

Location   Server Host
Europe      zec-eu1.nanopool.org
Europe      zec-eu2.nanopool.org
US East     zec-us-east1.nanopool.org
US West    zec-us-west1.nanopool.org
Asia          zec-asia1.nanopool.org
Japan        zec-jp1.nanopool.org
Australia    zec-au1.nanopool.org

in windows you run "cmd.exe"
"command.exe" start up

in the command.exe window you type:
ping zec-eu1.nanopool.org
and Press "Enter"

do this for each Server Host at the mining pool of your choice.

For me in Europe pinging Europe:
ping zec-eu1.nanopool.org

Pinging zec-eu1.nanopool.org [185.71.66.20] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 185.71.66.20: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=56

Ping statistics for 185.71.66.20:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 23ms, Maximum = 28ms, Average = 24ms

For me in Europe pinging Australia:
ping zec-au1.nanopool.org

Pinging zec-au1.nanopool.org [139.99.156.30] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 139.99.156.30: bytes=32 time=322ms TTL=44

ping zec-us-west1.nanopool.org

Pinging zec-us-west1.nanopool.org [45.63.61.87] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 45.63.61.87: bytes=32 time=174ms TTL=53

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 174ms, Maximum = 178ms, Average = 175ms

For me clearly server host
zec-eu1.nanopool.org

win with latency of only "Average = 24ms"

The server with least "ms" should be the fastest for you to connect to ! ! !

Just wan't to clarify for you and other that read this Smiley

Hi
Thanks for reply

The Three Hash boards on faulty A9 are Alive because when I devlivered It tested it right away.

but when I bring them to home and plugged in one of th A9s Fault right away...
I cant even go to the setting to factory reset :|

It is the control board I'm sure of it.

Is it possible to hash away with all the three boards of faulty A9 using a working A9s empty comm-ports and fan-ports?

Then you are still lucky that you don't loose 50Ksol/s hash capacity during the time you find a solution!

Have you spoken with Innosilicon explaining whats working and whats not?

Perhaps they can send a control-board only and you return faulty one?
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: September 23, 2018, 10:25:46 PM
I bought it from official site ...

I think none of A9s have sd tf socket on them  Huh

Is the power to control-unit of faulty A9 delivering enoungh power?
Guess so because fans run 100% !!

First:
UNPLUG POWER from wall sockets

then:
If you put one working A9 beside the faulty A9 and connect one of the faulty A9s boards comm-cable into a working A9s free comm-cable port or perhaps even one of the ports thats being used by a working board.

Be CAREFUL with the comm-cables and do NOT use to much force so they break somehow!!!

And do this for all the boards in the faulty A9.

Just to check wether any or all the boards on the faulty A9 is working or not!

When plugging in power into wall...
Do NOT forget to have both A9 running so that the board(s) in the faulty A9 get cooling also.

IF one or more boards in the faulty work then perhaps you can connect comm-cables AND fan-cables to working A9 and having it control 4-6 boards and 4 fans.

If this is the case then probably the control-unit is somehow faulty on the faulty A9.

I hope this will work since the control-unit have extra fan an comm-cable ports.

Anyways, you should be able to check the boards on the faulty A9 by using already used (and working) comm-ports in one of the working A9s.

Hope this helps!

Please update us all on your progress.

good luck!!

Hi Guys !
Please Help !

I just delivered 3 A9...
2 of them were fine.

but another one when you power on the A9 ( i have bitmain psu ) the failure led just show red and the fan speed 100% !
And even I can't login to the miner , the ip address is dead :|
And there is no SD Card socket to the controller board, It's fake :| Huh Sad

us buys 500 billion worh of goods a year from china , that excludes manufacturing stuff like tvs, iphones, gpus vr gear etc.

China only buys like $120 billion from us , so in the long run tarrifs hurt them more.  They will have to come to the table by mid 2019.

Thats when Ill buy my solar array

How much more will you pay in electricity between now and mid 2019 ? ? ?

God has told us that China will be put in place and the tarrifs is probably the way it will happen!
We all pay the price for it right now but it's all part of His divane plan !!!
(Just check Greg Hunter with guest Mark Taylor on Youtube 23 sept 2018)

How about cloudsourcing(crowdsourcing with asian pronaunceAsian Wink ) with other guys in the forum or other forums to buy in bulk.

Pushing prices down or/and perhaps it's possible to buy via some middleman with some other customs-/tax code like for test samples or something like that ? ? ?

I don't no, just brainstorming !!!

Good luck with your off grid projects!

Could you pls help me to figure out how to solve the problem on board no.2 ?
I have x on board 2, however, if i decreased the frequency the x will be removed.

"Decrease frequency" is the only solution as of now.

Does board no 2 get enough power ? ? ?

Switch powerconnector with board 1 or 3 and see if problem moves to other board or goes away ? ? ?

If not, then decrease frequecy is only solution as of now!!!

Stop buy chinese stuffs, absolutely not worth. Buy National stuffs, they steal your money in favour of communism capitalist.

I'm quite sure thoose who sold us the ASICs are true capitalists and the money will go to their Globalist Totalitarianism of which Communism is just a light version. It's Agenda 2030 and beyond their goal is at.

Just hope WWG1WGA WW will succed!!!

I am very upset by having invested in miners. I will never buy miners again. It's not worth. I have better solutions to invest my money. Losing time, money and effort for a too low and long return in time. So the true is save your money and invest in better stuffs.
I overclocked miners ,  I tried everything to maximize the return but again is not enough.
Save your money, save your time, don't buy it.

We are all very upset!!!
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: September 22, 2018, 08:41:05 PM
i received my Z9 mini 3 days ago, overclocked it to 743 about 5 hours ago, fan 100% (i dont care about the noise), temp of the cells is 58 celcius

so far i have an average of around 17 KH/s with peaks at up to 25KH/S

edit: also without overlocking it was around 11 KH/S, so it was pretty good even though it was running at 500

At aoutomatic fan speed it will let it go to about 70 degrees celsius and try to keep it there as max.
at 80 degrees it restarts.

Soo..

You probably don't need to keep it at 58 degrees.

Every degree will cost som fan speed?

try to find a sweetspot where it runs stable and save the fan a little.

Just my thoughts !!!

i thought about that but i did some research and found that having the fan set to 100% is no problem. It makes a very big noise but i dont mind, i guess only time will tell about the durability. Also If the fan gets fucked its not as much of a problem as if its the chips
i'll see in a few days the average, but when i saw it was doing peaks at 24-25KH/S i was like wtf

Whatever works for you!!!

What pool do you use to mine at when you get peaks like 24-25 KSols/s  ? ? ?
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What to do with old asiks? on: September 22, 2018, 08:33:57 PM
Three biggest (most expensive):
.08 Bitcoin
1.2 Bitcoin Cash
1.5 Maker

Misunderstanding. Three biggest, not three most expensive cryptocurrencies . So list is BTC, ETH and XRP.

Ahaa!

Got it !

Sorry I didn't get that, but someone else might also have missunderstood so perhaphs good that was clarified!

I still think that if going longterm perhaps not only three biggest and don't know if not minable cryptos are good as longterm investment ? ? ?

According to youtube-channel: "Bitcoin Ben" it will be these to have in the future:
Bitcoin
Litcoin
XRP
Ethereum
Ethereum Classic

In the end it will be those in power who will decide.

If the good guys win it won't be XRP Smiley

So I hope the rigging of the markets goes away someday. Would be nice with free markets where each and every crypto, stock, metall, ...  finds it's true value.

Seems like you don't have dns working or something???

IF thats the case and you have your network set up correct and your A9 network setup correctly it's strange but..

ping zec.2miners.com

Pinging zec.2miners.com [54.36.109.4] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 54.36.109.4: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=52
Reply from 54.36.109.4: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=52
Reply from 54.36.109.4: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=52
Reply from 54.36.109.4: bytes=32 time=24ms TTL=52

Ping statistics for 54.36.109.4:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 23ms, Maximum = 24ms, Average = 23ms

soo....

try this:

stratum+tcp://54.36.109.4:1111

NOW, it should work without DNS ! ! !

Ping other pool-adresses too and use ip-adress directly.

Also, make sure that port 1111 at 2miners.com is the correct port for algorithm "Equihash" and the port handles the speed of ASICs.

good luck!

Dear customer, thank you for your feedback. Any problem for technical problem you can send email or add Skype miner_support@innosilicon.com.cn We will try our best to help you asap. Thank you.

Please for the love of God -- fix the memory crash issue.

You direct your A9 ZMaster towards prohashing.com
You should get much slower filling of your miner logs and hence the memory usage shouldn't increase like insane as it does now.

You should also first help the situation by first resetting to factory default settings to clear all saved logs and by doing that one thing, you should increase the time it takes before reset because memory+cach full.

As arguments in poolsettings on your A9ZMaster choose something like in the example beneath. With these settings you will get multiswitch for Equihash algorithm's.

For more information like mining single coin you read "help" on prohashing.com site.

a9zmaster number 1
Pool 1:
URL: stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3336
Worker: your_login_name_at_prohashing.com
Password: n=a9zmaster001

a9zmaster number 2
Pool 1:
URL: stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3336
Worker: your_login_name_at_prohashing.com
Password: n=a9zmaster002

a9zmaster number 3
Pool 1:
URL: stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3336
Worker: your_login_name_at_prohashing.com
Password: n=a9zmaster003

and so on ...

Also run fans enough speed to keep temp at MAX 54 degree Celcius at all times.
Choose "Performance+" under Performance or if your firmware not upgraded so that you can choose "Performance+" then choose "Performance" or upgrade.

If you've done above settings for fans and speed then after a few hours hopefully you will see when you are logged in at prohashing.com under value "2hr avg. Solrate" for your A9ZMaster('s) should show at least 50 kSols/s if from batch thats not sold as 40kSols/s but should be good for them too.

I really hope someone will try this and verify to the rest IF this is a solution !!!

Sell them at actual market price X and with money buy top 3 cryptos: 1-st X*1/2, 2-nd X*1/3 and 3-rd X*1/6.
Put them in a cold (paper) wallet and after 2 years You can say thx.

Agree that you could sell them and by cryptos to put in cold storage.

If you think there will be a revivial for cryptos like Litecoin (scrypt) then perhaps you should calculate how many litecoin you can by if you sell vs mining at loss today and at what pricepoint would it be better to keep on mining vs selling?

What will the price of cryptos be when you have the money to buy?
(How fast can you sell Wink  )

Going price i've seen is something like $150-$250 .

$150 x 10 = $1500
$250 x 10 = $2500

You could buy about 29-49 Litecoin for $1500-$2500
And how long time will it take to mine thoose 29-49 Litecoin ?

You could according to chup's suggestion buy something like (if $1500):
Three biggest (most expensive):
.08 Bitcoin
1.2 Bitcoin Cash
1.5 Maker

my suggestion would be that at least spread little bit more.

Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash I believe are both same 256-hash.
Maker is not even mineable.

Longterm i would go for only Minable ("decentralized") and spread over coins and blockchains.
At least:
40-50% BTC
10-20% LTC
5-15% Etherum Classic
5-15% Monero
5-15% Zcash
5% Digibyte
and whatever

I myself belive Bitcoin (BTC) = Gold has been for thousends of years (longterm)
I use Bitfi as wallet for longterm storage since everything is stored encrypted in the blockchain itself (as I have understood it) and not in the hardware or on their site.

Best of luck whatever you choose !

I have 10 L3+. Yield is very small now. WHAT will advise you to do? Sell cheap or wait when the market comes to life?

Perhaps someone doing greenhouse farming would like to use the heat and wind + paying for electricity.

you could share profit or get free farming products Smiley

have u tried this ?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3835841.0

might get you some extra greens from the farmer Wink

I was kind of serious with my advice.

About the future of cryptocoins and blockchainS:
You should really check out channel "Bitcoin Ben" and perhaps also "Gold 2020 forcast" on Youtube.
Especially yesterday sept 17 2018.

Why doesn't this forum have some kind of tips and ways for members to find each other and geographically come together and perhaps run joint mining operation with better deals on electricity and internet with low latency.

Some kind of crowdsourcing which could grow into small(and big) businesses and perhaps making use of the heat at the same time and perhaps making money of it by getting paid for it in some form and/or not having to pay for electricity in part or full.

I beleive that one key to future wealth's should be to Hoodl.
Don't exchange everything to Fiat-money.
Save at least some cryptos.
And exchange into other cryptos that you believe in.
Don't just bet on one hourse Wink
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: September 17, 2018, 07:50:46 PM
About firmware versions and overclocking:

I've been doing some serious digging!!!

When you login to your Z9 mini you check on first page "System - Overview"
Batch 1, 2 and 3 all seem to have "Hardware Version:" = 9.0.0.5

"File System Version:" tells you which firmware version your Z9 mini is running on.

There are at LEAST four (4) different firmware versions for z9 mini:

1. Sat May 26 20:42:30 CST 2018 = Antminer-Z9-Mini-201805262047-500M.tar.gz
2. Sun Aug 12 17:43:41 CST 2018 = Huh
3. Thu Aug 30 14:57:48 CST 2018 = Huh
4. Fri Aug 31 17:02:59 CST 2018 = Antminer-Z9-Mini-NAND-500M-201808311812.tar.gz (the now only downloadable fw on Bitmains site for z9 mini.)

May 26 and Aug 12 firmware-versions are overclockable either from SSH into machine and changing the file "/config/cgminer.conf" or from Chrome using "Inspection" for the field where you choose "frequence" (May 26 version) alt. "mode" (Aug 12 version) on page "Miner configuration - Advanced settings" and for the May 26 version ofcourse you just choose the frequence here you wan't just like God intended !

Aug 30 and Aug 31 versions just ignores any frequence value from cgminer.conf or with Chrome's "Inspection" method.
If you go to the "/www/pages/cgi.bin/minerAdvanced.cgi"-file and changes value and saving after you made filesystem writable. After reboot it will have changed the file back!!!

Batch 1 seem to be very overclockable !!!
I, myself, are running my single batch 1 Z9 mini on 768 MHz and it's solid !!!

For Batch 2/3 I have seen quite a few running them on 668 MHz solid with both fw May 26(after upgrade) and Aug 12 firmware's !!!

WHEN you install the May 26 firmware I strongly recommend you UNcheck "Keep settings:" to get as clean install and as little problems as possible.

I really recommend you checkout mining at prohashing.com dispite their "high fee" (not high in relation to what I earn compared to MPH, nanopool and flypool after 48 hours, at least for me and my friends.) Read under "Help" on prohashing.com for further info and earning possibilities if you choose a single coin to hash.)

Pool settings for prohashing.com: (here you can see mine)
Url : stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3336   (3336 is for Equihash algorithm that z9 mini calculates)
Worker : imine2   (the username I registered with at prohashing.com)
Password : n=z9mini101   (the "101" stands for machines ip:10.0.1.101 in my home network and it's just a name to identify your machine if you have more then one.)

Do you earn more on Prohashing then Mining Pool Hub?... I have been wondering where the best place is to point my Z9's ..
Will Prohashing mine on Autoswitch?. BTCP, HUSH , XEC, ZCL, Ect and payout in BTC?
Thanks

Any idea where to get this firmware :

2. Sun Aug 12 17:43:41 CST 2018 = ? ? ?

No,
as far as I know the only two (2) firmware's that been downloadable from Bitmain's site are:
1. Sat May 26 20:42:30 CST 2018 = Antminer-Z9-Mini-201805262047-500M.tar.gz
and
4. Fri Aug 31 17:02:59 CST 2018 = Antminer-Z9-Mini-NAND-500M-201808311812.tar.gz

The other two was preinstalled on delivered machines I have helped friends to setup.

Can't imagine what could be better with aug 12 firmware since it is limited in which frequence you can set without "hacking" via Chrome or SSH ?

today thoose machines all run stable on the may 26 firmware without any problem and they are all overclocked to 668 or 675 MHz.
