122  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading be closed on weekends?! on: July 11, 2011, 07:13:50 AM
definitely not, the reason trading is closed on weekends for currencies is due to open hours etc of major business that is kinda backing the currency (see banking) since we dont have these limits and are a word wide currency closing trading on the weekends seems ridicules.. and even if you were to close on the weekends.. what timezone weekends would they be ?
123  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Current Volume on: July 11, 2011, 07:11:13 AM
i'm sooo waiting for a 3rd major compeditor to come into the field, that will change things imho.

we need a new exchange thats pleasent on the eye with good security and speeds etc and i can see the public flocking to it. and if they had decent seo skils and publicity dept. i dont see what could hold em back.

126  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Don't Mine on an iMac! on: July 11, 2011, 07:05:08 AM
i'd extend this thread to not mine on any laptop based computer or laptop Tongue all in one boards in small enclosures are not made for 24/7 mining. Your just asking for trouble. unless you get your own cooling solutions going.
127  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Lowering mem clock on: July 11, 2011, 07:03:57 AM
to lower beyond spec i have found the only way is to use RBE and edit the bios files, ive tried the other 11.6 version changes etc, but its been unreliable across all my cards.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is mining namecoins and why? on: July 11, 2011, 07:02:08 AM
people will jump to and fro based on profitability, i'm sure there is some people that will just stick with it, but its just common sense to go where the money is.
129  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining rig outside the house on: July 11, 2011, 07:00:48 AM
Three words:

Security through obscurity.

It does work most of the time.

but when it doesn't its a real pain Wink
130  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Use Bitcoins During Login to Make Brute Force Attack Expensive to the Hacker. on: July 11, 2011, 06:59:37 AM
i love this concept, the fees can be lessend by manual return requests when u get to a certain ballance, but the sending for login will cost a bit too much in fees, and not to mention the wait time for confirmations, without wich makes the system not really reliable.

i guess you could start your own fork then sell btc for your logincoins or something similar then u can abolish the fees ?
131  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Should we buy bitcoin.com ? on: July 11, 2011, 06:56:04 AM
im voting yes, but maybe as a community pool or a committee to take ownership in the spirit of the project, i dont like single people owning these such things.

also with a pool ownership you can get more $ Smiley
132  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you rate your experience with Bitcoin on a scale of 1 to 10 ...and why on: July 11, 2011, 06:52:10 AM
would definitely be a 9, from a pretty much 0 startup to where it is now is simply amazing, sure u can bitch and moan about the issues that its had but these are just teething issues.

i'm keen to see where it goes in the future, all we can hope for really is a wider adoption Smiley

137  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [20 BTC] Multithreaded Keep-alive Implementation in Bitcoind on: July 11, 2011, 01:29:54 AM

What build is this exactly?

It's a git clone of bitcoin4pools as posted a while back:
https://github.com/somebadger/bitcoin4pools

As of commit https://github.com/somebadger/bitcoin4pools/commit/fbfd3ecbd322edd2c478135fb43e63b8ad4edeab

Which I notice happens to mention CReserveKey, which is also in the backtrace..

I have updated the repo, reverted back to .23 with patches and updates, plus --help additions.
.24 had some issues will get back on those once i get some time.
https://github.com/somebadger/bitcoin4pools/commits/v0.3.23-pool

ps. running now for 22hrs without a glitch Smiley

139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: pool.betcoin.co thread for Newbies - LP, JSON API, Reward for 1st block found on: July 10, 2011, 06:37:02 AM
so the leaderboard reset we had the other day doesnt effect the previous shares i submitted ? is it purely aesthetic ?

that is correct, the system has not lost any of your shares, you have nothing to worry about. it is only the leaderboard that was reset. Once we find our 1st block all stats will be correct Smiley
140  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~4 GH/sec] pool.betcoin.co - Long polling, JSON API, Reward for 1st block found on: July 09, 2011, 12:37:20 PM
