121  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 'Know Bitcoin' app is live! on: August 26, 2020, 07:55:39 AM
Remember, the aim is to let more people know about bitcoin.
I agree with the following comment [I didn't include other posts that were discussing other things]...
- I've seen a lot of things that have nothing to do with BTCitcoin and it appears you've used Cryptocurrencies in general as a way to increase your content [with bits of information in regards to BTCitcoin].

I would have expected an app called 'know bitcoin' to be more specific, rather than 'what is cryptocurrency?', ''what is Bitcoin?' could be used.
Without going into details on the content, I find that there is a fair share of explanation on ERC-20 in a Bitcoin App (just like there is on this Bitcointalk forum you could say …).

11Mo is too much for a simple app like this.
Not sure if I'm missing something but it says "53M" now [which is a lot as you mentioned].
- @Chris Barth: What did you add that it lead to this significant boost in size?

It takes a very long time for each news/article to load...
- I'm not a coder but are you using an iframe of some sort?

Regarding the app size, there are different screen
resolutions. For my own device, the app size is about
13MB. 53MB is the addition of all screen resolutions. Use
the play store app when downloading so it will download for your device's resolution only.

On my own end(tested with 3 of my different devices), the news loads in just a few seconds but the snapshot and the news in details. Please confirm if you have a strong network connection. And no; I am not using frame. Thanks.

When downloading the app, the first thing that brought my attention is its size. 11Mo is too much for a simple app like this. You may consider releasing a newer version with a more customized code / compressed images to make it lighter.
In the quiz tab, I was expecting it to be more interactive, when you click on the question you will directly get the correct answer. It would be more funny to let the user guess the correct answer to test his knowledge.
Also, it would be great if you let the user specify from which sources the app gets the latest news in the news tab.

Thanks for the suggestion... I will see if this is feasible...

In addtion to what LeGaulois commented, wallets only store the keys (private keys and public keys). To access the bitcoin on blockchain, you need to have private key to a corresponding address(es) on wallet to unlock the bitcoin on blockchain. I hope this is clear.

Cryptocurrencies are digital currencies, example is bitcoin. Not a way to transfer or hold money.

Cryptocurrencies  are not ponzi, some can be scam but strong ones like bitcoin are not scam and are not ponzi.

You app is absolute rubbish. It needs a lot of corrections before you totally mislead people.

OK... Thank you.

125  Economy / Service Discussion / 'Know Bitcoin' app is live! on: August 21, 2020, 02:36:33 PM
Hello! After I got suggestions from my fellow community members here on bitcointalk, I fine-tuned the 'Know Bitcoin' app by adding lots of features that doesn't bore users(tho it isn't as easy as it sounds). Adding to that, I am most pleased to tell you that app has been approved by Google Play Store!! Remember, the aim is to let more people know about bitcoin. Not just to know but to know the truth (the good and bad).

The app was verified a few hours ago... Be the first to download it! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=capps.knowbitcoin

UPDATE!!
The app has been updated. And just like you guys requested, I took out the whole bounty talk and also added more information. DOWNLOAD IT NOW : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=capps.knowbitcoin.

AND DON'T FORGET TO SHARE!

I don't know about bitcoin when we start adding mathematical equations... Well, teaching bitcoin in schools as I heard is already happening. Tho I don't know if it's an indept explanation that is taught, it's still a positive move.
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Late Show with Stephen Colbert calls bitcoin a scam on: August 03, 2020, 11:45:36 PM
I think I've seen some people who still call bitcoin a scam (knowing fully well that it isn't). These people don't want to say it because they don't want themselves believing in it. However, if you'd ask me; it's too late for anyone to stop bitcoin, so, we move!
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some gamblers have been arrestes in Bangladesh for money laundering through btc on: July 28, 2020, 10:22:02 PM
Such act contributes to the reason why people see cryptocurrency as a currency used by scammers. The saddest part of it is that considering the fact that bitcoin has to do with anonymous identities, there's no way we can stop specific people (scammers, kidnappers, etc) from using the currency. However, I'm at to know that this set of people were finally caught.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the chances of bitcoin taking another dive? on: July 28, 2020, 10:13:58 PM
Bitcoin is a volatile dude. Considering that, it is very possible for it to go below that price in 24 hours time. But then, (from my own thoughts), I don't think there's hope of going that low again... Maybe there is but, not now.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remembering the earily days of mining... on: July 28, 2020, 10:07:55 PM
Thanks @Upgrade00 for helping make the image visible. That aside, the listed items in the image is quite touching. I believe there was a lot of desperation (the type I have) but unfortunately it seemed like you were almost killing yourself for it. I once made some research so I'd start mining but... I don't think I liked the story behind it. Even though, I wish I knew about cryptocurrencies (as a whole) on time.

Neatly done! I like the artwork. Merely looking at it, I can see the sense in the title you used. Keep it up 👌
132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might never reach it's ATH anymore on: July 25, 2020, 09:56:55 PM
I firmly support this post! Bitcoin as you have just said is not a make-money-quick scheme. I've told many people about bitcoin, and whenever I do, I make them understand that bitcoin's uniqueness is not in its price but it's ability to be anonymous, it's limitless ability, the decentralization, the transaction speed (especially when making transactions across borders). The earlier people remember this, the better for all cryptocurrencies and enthusiasts.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too dumb to undrstand on: July 25, 2020, 09:51:45 PM
Hey, I never gave my information to anyone. Some wallets/exchanges may require some private information (KYC). However, you can create a wallet or buy bitcoin from other places that don't require KYC. Also, I'd like to advice that you make prior research so you don't fall into the wrong hands. Welcome to the blockchain technology!!

134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of Bitcoin Technology. on: July 23, 2020, 11:39:04 PM
Of course, we all know what most government has to say(they disagree). However, I think that individuals and businesses would benefit the most. To be more specific, I'd say businesses would really benefit. It's more like a promotion thing.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally some justice, scammer sent to jail at South Korea. on: July 23, 2020, 11:33:55 PM
Pleased to know he was caught. I wont really say that 2.5 years is big nor small. I'd rather talk about the 'mining' part. Most people just don't get that mining isn't done with all sites/people. Most of them are scam. And even after they've read people testifying to being scammed, they'll still fall in. While he stay in there for his 2.5 years, I just hope people get smarter and understand the age we're in.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Coronavirus Help Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency - Debate about with Valutainment on: July 19, 2020, 07:56:45 PM
I'd say it again that the lock down helped bitcoin. This is because people spend more time on their phones and in one way or the other, they get to know about bitcoin and other altcoins. I came across someone who joined crypto lately, asked him how he came to know about it all and he testified that it was due to the lock down. Obviously, I wasn't wrong with my opinion.
137  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Finally used a bitcoin ATM successfully! on: July 16, 2020, 10:29:08 AM
This is amazing! I so wish that I could use one but it's quite unfortunate that the closest bitcoin atm is like a day drive away from my location. However, I know that someday, they'll be more and I can get to use it whenever. Congratulations on that feeling! Wink
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My suggestion on Bitcoin adoption on: July 12, 2020, 07:40:44 PM
I'm having a hard time understanding what exactly you are suggesting. It is unnecessary to create this topic if you don't have anything to say. No offence; my thoughts.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Breezecoin new packages and new real estate projects! on: July 11, 2020, 07:39:49 PM
Our communication and collobration about new exchanges still continues. We are trying get comments and thoughts from our community and check the relevance about our project.
We'll, my suggestion is that you list on a platform like Biki, or some small exchange. It isn't compulsory that it must be a big exchange. Your platform is cool. Just be sure to keep your standards high. I wish you and your investors good luck. Smiley
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying food or groceries with Bitcoin on: July 11, 2020, 07:19:34 PM

But if we could be able to buy foods with bitcoin in this time , it would be very slow because as you know bitcoin transaction time
is slow. We should use altcoins for it like eth or ltc.

Why so? We can use bitcoin to make any payments irrespective of it's speed. If I owned a restaurant and I accept bitcoin, I wont have to hold down my customers because I haven't fully received the bitcoins in my wallet. I mean; Just 1 confirmation should be enough to know that the transaction will be successful. My thoughts tho.
