Easy to look back retrospectively at something that went up a bunch after the ICO and say they should have invested more, hind sight it 20/20. But beforehand every ICO is a gamble and it would not make sense for them to out most their money on one bet. Especially for their first investment. If golem hadn't done well and they invested a lot in it it would have been game over right out the gates.

Start the system with safe mode and share result with us. Maybe it can solve the problem. Same thing happens, GUI won't load. It's never too late to install Ubuntu  . Skycoin discourage its users to run Windows as long as Microsoft doesn't respect our privacy and self-sufficiency in decision-making ) Yeah and unfortunately Microsoft will never change but if skycoin hopes to be widely adopted and taken seriously they should probably make a windows wallet that works. |

I have to open it twice for it to open at all, and then once it has opened it is just a blank white screen although the Skycoin and Edit tabs ate still present in the top left corner.

Yall need to learn about the blockchain, it's this new tech that let's you do things like prove transactions/funds in a trustless manner. Pretty neat stuff. The distribution is mathematically optimal. You cannot design a better distribution scheme than the Skycoin scheme. We enumerated all previous distribution schemes and chose the best one. You are used to seeing pump and dump style distributions and that is what people are asking for and we will not do it. We are also not going to do some NXT style scam and pretend the coin was "distributed" in a way that the user base cannot complain, when in reality three people own 98% of the coins. The undistributed Skycoins are locked, for a reason and that is to prevent a reoccurance of the dumping that destroyed NXT. We combined a publicly auditable distribution scheme with with a Bitcoin tapered distribution schedule, while eliminating the capital outflows from miners. We chose this distribution scheme, because mathematically it is the best possible that can exist.Until someone proposes something superior to "I think they should do a massive coin drop on me and give me free coins", the "distribution" complaints are just divide and conquer, meaningless babble and foaming at the mouth. The Skycoin distribution will follow the Bitcoin model of a constant number of coins over a time period, with tapering and halving over time, up to a fixed maximum value.Distribution will take at least seven years. We are in a hurry and some of us have already been here four or five years. I think we will get to 70% distribution within ten years. Rushing distribution, only hurts the investors, so we are in no hurry to dump coins faster. If anything we will probably decrease the rate of releasing new blocks of coins. This is to create a slow, steady appreciation of the coin and reason for people to hold on to it. Instead of a massive Ethereum style pump and dump (which worked for Ethereum, but which is a very bad type of distribution style in general). We think our distribution scheme is the best possible. No one has given any superior alternative, or even a proposal that would not drive down the price per coin. Skycoin's distribution scheme is designed to maximumize the price per coin over time and to avoid driving own the price per coin.The Skycoin distribution schedule and philosophy is identical to Bitcoin's distribution rate, or how Facebook or Google stock was distributed. Google did not distribute 80% of its shares by doing a massive Ethereum style crowd sale, before any of the work was done. It sold off fixed, small slices of equity at each step at an increasing price. Then they dumped the money into development and increasing the value of the equity for all stakeholders by investing the money raised in infrastructure. This is what makes sense for funding a large, long term project whose value is increasing. We are using this model, because it works.If we can raise $1 and invest it in marketing, software development and hardware and produce a $100 increase in market cap, then we are doing well. If we are only producing $0.25 in value for every dollar spent, then we should stop raising money and cut distribution back. We do not want to crowd out our return rate. maybe check the byteball distribution? Is this a joke? I really hate how people praise byteball distribution. Ooooh lets give people free money based on how much money they already have, let's make the rich richer and help to consolidate wealth further! In an ICO or crowdsale the rich can still buy more, obviously, since they have more money to invest- but that also requires they invest more which means they are taking on more risk. With an airdrop there is no risk, the rich are just handed more money than other people for no reason other than the fact they already have more money. They don't have to take on any proportional risk. It's an absolutely trash economic model that will never work. |

The backgrounds/experience (or lack thereof) of the TaaS team members is what turned me off (info from the TaaS website and their linkedins). Their lead of trading has 3-4 years of "independent/private" trading experience and a degree in film studies... I have more experience and better credentials than that. And all of the founders worked for (founded even) the same companies previously, companies I couldn't find any info for online. I asked multiple times on the TaaS thread for them to provide me with more info on their previous companies and experiences and I was never given an answer.
Also they never explain in any technical detail how their auditing method actually works, and that is supposed to be their main selling point/distinguishing factor.
Also the guy who did the interview with coininterview seemed like he had no idea what he was talking about amd seemed to have rather shady body language. The interviewer appeared more knowledgeable than their so-called expert did. Their expert didn't even know what a fiduciary was and they want people to trust them with their money...

i hold good amount of wetrust, vbut as far as poloniex is concerned they have no standards nor do they reply or talk with ppl or devs about anything. The exchange is completely untrustworthy and staying on trex is great as it will be around long after polo implodes
Seriously, bittrex seems so much more trustworthy and transparent. The people running bittrex are known names in crypto, does anybody have any idea who runs poloniex (honest question)? Kraken would be a good exchange to get listed at next. |

Obviously the project needs to raise enough money to be a success but I don't get why investors complain when an ICO doesn't reach ridiculous heights. An overvalued initial market cap is not good at all for ICO investors, there's less room to grow and more support needed to hold above ICO price.

You could be right, the 2nd one being only composed of people who set their receiving wallets as exchange wallets
I think more than 90% of the tokens were distributed on the first phase of distribution ( i can be wrong). Their emails said that they distributed over 90% in the first round. They aren't going to tell you what they invest in before they invest in it (or before the ICO closes), and they shouldn't. |

What do you mean? You can see the chart of the price over time there in the post. As an index fund it's price is just the weighted sums of the prices of its components. |

They mentioned that they own 12.000 byteballs (and not just 4,827) and it skyrockets like crazy. ICNP went from $4.5 million to $12 million already. Come on man! I grew my money in crypto ~ 5X. I am not a pro. Any decent crypto trader would have done more than that ICN team have done so far. What bothers me most is the lost opportunity cost which is not considered by anyone. They have not invested INCP money at all (only 5%??). Wetrust (3X) Databits(5X) Matchpool Cosmos BasicAttentionToken . . All the above are legit projects. None of them have been considered at all. That bothers me. Byteballs is not investment FYI. To this list, I would add another couple of projects that gave a normal increase. It is Edgeless, iEX.ec and Bcap They did invest in WeTrust, it just hasn't been announced yet. Maybe there are other unannounced investments too. They also did a fantastic job of holding and letting ICNP's BTC and ETH appreciate. Especially with POS coming up, $40 or $50 ETH will be a thing of the past, just like $200 or $300 BTC. There's a new crowdsale every week, so even if Iconomi misses a profitable one, they have BTC and ETH stashes big enough for years of ICNP investing. Do you know for certain they invested in WeTrust? Just a suspicion because of their review of it or do you know for sure? |
