Seems like some new algorithms are on the move again Wink WhirlpoolX by VanillaCoin is added by Nicehash, Pluck algo by Supcoin, and now Voyacoin too, is making itself heard. Might be something to take a look at Smiley
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] ipoMiner - Profitable multipool targeting new coins + merged mining! on: February 27, 2015, 02:47:33 PM
Any chance you can add a profitability API? I'd love to add it to my Minercontrol mod since my Nvidia's don't do failover & multiport, but I'd still like to switch them between neoscrypt and X11, whatever is more profitable.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Working] Improved CryptoNight CUDA Miner (based on tsiv's work) on: February 26, 2015, 11:30:14 AM
Any idea what kind of speed you'll get out of it?
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM Scrypt/Neo/Lyra2/X11/X13/X14/X15 Profit switch with exchange on: February 25, 2015, 04:25:20 PM
our little hobby project became hard to maintain

Do you mean the pool is your little hobby project?

Anything wrong with qubit pool?

yes, homemade over weekends and late evening. but i guess most of other pools are like that too. that was so fun to program. i've got too much excited over it and forgot to stop at some point. rental was an error i now think.

qubit and sha256 now restarted

Hey, hey, don't let your head hang down Wink Look up and see how we, your miners, are supporting you in whatever you guys do. You guys have made one of the most profitable multipools out there who aren't cheating and ripping off like madmen.

Rental might be an error, but let time show that. It can be beneficial for renting SHA mining power when the pool can't chase BTC and is left with unprofitable altcoins. It will pull the payouts closer to the real BTC price. I still like that idea, but it has to come to fruition first. Advertisements could help there, maybe even be one of the first rental sites for new algos out there, when they pop up?

How do you know? Did you buy some?
* Bombadil facepalms
It's common logic. Get used to it, newbie Wink

(And if you're a shill, gtfo)
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTF is Rimbit? on: February 25, 2015, 03:02:43 PM
Why all these criticism about this RIMBIT coin?
Did it hurt you? Did it bite you? Did it steel from you?

Does it hurt the general cryptoscene? YES. Does it steal investors from real coins and scares them away afterwards? YES.

Works fine with my ccminer though :s
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM Scrypt/Neo/Lyra2/X11/X13/X14/X15 Profit switch with exchange on: February 24, 2015, 03:23:02 PM
There are many rejects recently, mostly invalid shares or job id. I have to restart the miner to get accepted shares. But it will become invalid again soon. That was not a problem before. The difficulty was auto. After I changed 0.05, there are still invalid shares.

Which miner are you using (software AND hardware) and which algo?
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Minimum power needed to mine alts now on: February 21, 2015, 08:10:32 AM
Depends on how much you want to invest Wink With just a gtx750ti or a second hand R9, you're good to go.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [VNL] VanillaCoin [WhirlpoolX] [Angel Investor] [White paper] GPU miner is out! on: February 21, 2015, 01:04:30 AM
No miner for my cudas he Sad Ooh, that's a pity, I'm starting to like this coin ^^"
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Need Dev to update FlappyCoin code to 0.10.0 and PoS. Name your price. on: February 20, 2015, 10:06:35 PM
Bump indeed! Flappy was the first coin I mined, it should live on Wink
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LitecoinPrice.org - Real time Litecoin prices from all major exchanges on: February 20, 2015, 10:02:59 PM
Instead of needless bumping for a needless tool, why not add some stuff to it? Like an API for that price, + difficulty, + blockheight, +... Tongue
Also, is the average price volume weighted?
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM Scrypt/Neo/Lyra2/X11/X13/X14/X15 Profit switch with exchange on: February 20, 2015, 12:15:44 PM
Would it be possible to add an estimate number and graph for BTC gain per hour / day?
I understand it would be only an 'estimate', but it would give a cumulative idea of how all algos/rigs are performing in a trend / snapshot.

A feature I also miss from another multi-algo with btc exchange site was a number that showed 'relatively' how the YAAMP auto-switcher is making more profitable coin choices vs the base LTC and BTC coin.  For example, the site may have another column for each coin, plugging in a profitability comparison number / %.

Good to see the site running, and I've steered other miners here as well.  Would love to see it continue, and to see some of the above improvements as well.  Thank you!

Vs LTC and BTC is only useful when you're talking about ASICs. Vs Darkcoin would be a new and better estimate for us GPU miners. Cheesy
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SUP] Supcoin, PLUCK algorithm, Just Launched, Mine Now! on: February 20, 2015, 03:54:08 AM

turnover of the exchange for 24 hours seems to 0.01 Huh if you add the SUP well win  Wink

We are a new exchange trying to break through in the market, Supcoin intrigued us with something different from everything else hence it was added on launch. Come and trade if you like the orders are starting to go up!

Empty IRC is empty.

Anyways, BlackCoin has turned from BC into BLK Wink
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [SUP] Supcoin, PLUCK ALGORITHM, Download wallets now, Mine Feb 19th! on: February 20, 2015, 01:58:47 AM
minimum is 3.5.

I didn't saw that warning. Where I missed it?

In the sourcecode ^^" Excuse me, I thought DJM mentioned it somewhere, but seems like I only know it from source.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [SUP] Supcoin, PLUCK ALGORITHM, Download wallets now, Mine Feb 19th! on: February 20, 2015, 01:53:40 AM

WTF
* Bombadil facepalms
If you ever get an accept, I'll high five you.

Really, your card doesn't support even the minimum level of compute capability for which this algo is made. GTX770 is compute 3.0, minimum is 3.5.

EDIT: And no, that's not a driver crash Tongue A driver crash mostly looks like 0kh/s blazing off repeatedly.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [SUP] Supcoin, PLUCK ALGORITHM, Download wallets now, Mine Feb 19th! on: February 20, 2015, 12:27:24 AM
Ok, last question oc. If you throw on betarigs, we have to check for new algo PLUCK?

https://www.betarigs.com/list?miner_type=10

And btw, I'm trying to compile that ccminer for nvidia with vs2013 but horribly fail. Anyone succeeded yet?
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Open Source a Collectivist Mantra? on: February 19, 2015, 12:54:47 PM
*cough* android *cough*.
It's Android that triggered the explosion of the "alt-pad scene" (lol). And that is OpenSource (well, most of it).

Also, the internet, when it was having it's first babysteps, was opensource, email was opensource.
It isn't about Bitcoin really, it's about the protocol, the blockchain.

And everyone stop saying that Altcoins are bad, you're in the wrong subforum for that. This is natural evolution, to say the least. Each altcoin is a mutation/fork. Not every mutation, like in nature, is a good one, heck, most aren't. But once in a while something goods comes from it, something that even BTC looks at and says: "Damn, that's a good idea" (/me is still waiting for his first PoS BTC reward Cheesy )
Again, like in nature, more mutations happen but of lesser average "quality" when the ecosystem is doing well and everything can flourish. If the ecosystem is doing bad, most bad mutations get weeded out when it's still in the womb, so the quality of actual offspring will be better, but there will be much less.
Embrace this or gtfo this forum.

Closed-source has its applications, but on the internet itself, those are limited. Maybe too many nerds actually living there Cheesy
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM Scrypt/Neo/Lyra2/X11/X13/X14/X15 Profit switch with exchange on: February 19, 2015, 12:20:06 PM
I have seen options of multialgo mining for Nvidia, but I have only AMD videocards, so I have composed yaamp.conf file for my ATI 7770:

Wait wuth? I guess you're wrong there Wink Nvidia miners don't support multi-algo or even failover out-of-the-box.
You could use MinerControl for those Nvidia's, but they will also work for AMDs on just YAAMP. Hell, my minercontrol mines on just YAAMP :p
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM Scrypt/Neo/Lyra2/X11/X13/X14/X15 Profit switch with exchange on: February 16, 2015, 09:16:20 PM
we always keep at least the last 5 minutes of submitted shares. it get longer if we dont find a block within 5 minutes. so it takes 5 minutes to get the most of your rig, but on the other hand, every submit is guarantee to stay at least 5 minutes in our database and may reward fading portions of few blocks after you disconnect.

cryptonight is not just another algo. we've got to look some more to undestand.

Thx for clearing that out.

I know that cryptonight isn't easy, not only is it difficulty calculation different, it's API set and whole usage isn't the same. But it might be a nice plus Wink Thx for looking into it Cheesy
