Hi - A question for the DEVS You say that Israel is controlled by few families and cartels - and that most of the power and money lays in the hands of few people. The moment heavy duty ASICS will hit the market - there is a potential situation where the majority of the mined Isracoins are going to be in the hands of few people. Now many coins implemented algorithms to combat and delay ASICS (even a year is CRITICAL) ... its much easier to do such things when the coin is still young and its price is not high. Are there any plans to implement such a thing into Isracoin ? I got the idea from a post in your forums (you didn't reply to the poster) It would be great to get feedback from you... you know that I am not asking something silly like "how many businesses signed" or "pump and dump" kind of questions  I wish you all the success with coin There are no immediate plans for such implementation. Scrypt is the most tried and tested algo out there right now and still, up until just 6 months ago or so, everyone thought it was asic-resistant. Now everyone knows that's not the case. Other technologies will most likely lose this battle as well, since where there is a profit to be made, there is the incentive to overcome the technical challenges with hardware and this is a race we would always lose. Delaying for a year is irrelevant for a coin that is designed with real longevity in mind and that longevity will come from its actual performance in and acceptance by its target market, rather than by trying to out-run asics. The asics game is rapidly changing and very soon will become anyone's game and not just those who have a lot of cash to spend on it. Still, it is possible that some people will invest a lot and have much more hashing power than others and that is the nature of capitalism. With that said, a big difference needs to be noted here between that and what has happened in Israel, where the government (several decades ago) has handed the keys to the kingdom on a silver platter to just a few people, who did not even have the money for it but instead borrowed much of it. Most of Israel's population is still paying the price for that, decades later. Isracoin is open, unbiased and lets anyone do what they can. The goal is not redistribution, but rather liberation and of course everyone can partake, if they so choose. I'd like to see you walk into a bank and tell them you'd like to partake in their printing of money. Let us know which prison you get sent to, so we can send you a cake with a file in it.  |

if you start your own node and mine to it - is more fun mining... and less rejects %

always configure auto payouts and never use pool as a bank
2 factor auth is now enabled using google auth and available in the account settings page. (you need to scan qr from another screen, so load wallet on desktop/other mobile etc to activate). Also fixed a few strings just now. FYI - you may need to reload the site a few times before changes take effect. |

This is a rare occasion for us to publicly discuss such matters, but it seems like someone is purposefully trying to lower prices of ISR on bittrex. We just thought everyone should be aware. And that person should be aware that we are seeing what he is doing.

Hey I told you this once already, I don't believe you should suggest that all the MPOS pools are not safe. My pool requires 2FA in order to make changes to your account, payment address and payment limits. This means, the miner first HAS to enter their correct PIN to get their email confirmation sent. Then they need to follow the link in the email to unlock the form. Then they can enter their payment address details, and once again they HAVE to enter their PIN in order to save the changes.
Please don't lump all MPOS pools in with this other pool who I can only assume must have incompetent admins.

Due to several reports of users of crypto-hamsters mining pool that their accounts have been hacked into and withdrawal address changed and coins stolen and due to the fact we have tried contacting the pool operators but have not heard back, we have now taken them out of our lists of pools.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO NO LONGER MINE WITH THIS POOL - AT LEAST UNTIL THEY RECTIFY THE SITUATION AND REIMBURSE STOLEN COINS TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS.
You can also use p2pools which are less susceptible to such problems as they do not require an account and hackers cannot change your payout address in them as it is specified in your own mining software.
Of course MPOS pools with higher security measures such as 2-factor authentication are also a good option to consider.

Quick update to those of you who were asking about mobile wallets:
We now have both a working Android App as well as a working HTML5 Web Wallet as an alternative for iOS users. (Web wallet is CoinPunk which is a zerotrust type wallet so the server cannot spend coins and everything happens on user's phone directly)
Both are in testing and preparations to be released.
We expect to release them very soon. (we may do a public beta first and will update on that as well)
Proper news updates will be forthcoming as soon as everything is ready.

There is an English version of the site at www.isracoin.org. The site is informative. It does not include discussions with the public. We have forums for that but we're not about to start translating the forums endlessly. There are forums in English for the international community as well. |
