In a few years I see this being possible but right now the bitcoin client has to download ~300mb of data via a P2P network which is a bit much for your average smartphone. No doubt soon it will be possible.
We could by pass this on the basis of a client that takes a copy of wallet.dat and handles it on the smart phone. Basically my understanding of the client is that you primary update the blockchain to allow transactions to your address be updated along with your balance...but this info in the blockchain anyway, and you could sync your wallet occasionally instead. Hrrmmm...... [IDEA] Along with encrypted wallet feature in future client, add a frame work that allows a secure wallet export and sync to mobile device. Others here have a far better sense of how it all works and if what I'm saying is feasible, but if it is.....then we can post it at github as a suggestion for future clients. there is at least one major problem with this: say we would use two dumbphones with bluetooth (or IR, w/e kind of communication that doesnt need internet or SMS) so both owners would load theyr wallet.dat on theyr phone person A buys a beer off person B, and transfers X BTC to person B thats your idea, right? now, the current system works becouse person A's wallet.dat will update a block, and delivers that info to the network. the network then verifies this new info (did that specific wallet have X BTC from that block?) and then tells person B's client that the transfer is OK now, with 2 offline dumbphones, person A could upload a modified/old/otherwise tampered wallet.dat and pay person B with BTC that dont exist/are already spent person B wont know that, untill he syncs the wallet.dat at home, after wich person A is long gone paying with mobile phones are ofc the future, but we do need everyone to have internet for it, otherwise its just not safe enough also, the confirmation time needs to go down, becouse if person A had to wait 5 min~5H for his beer, it wouldnt go very smooth as for the massive block count: we could use cloud computing for that (use the BTC client on your own computer through the internet for example)

PCI-E x1 to PCI-E x16and PCI-E 1x to PCI-E x1note, im not the seller, i just spotted them and thought more people should know that theyr overpaying for em only downside is that since theyr located in hongkong and china, the shipping will take some time (~2weeks) if the ads are gone, click here for the ebay search and looke for em or search for PCI extender yourself

Ok,
I just purchased a Radeon HD 6750 but the problem is that I have a 400W power supply, and the card recommends a 450. Can I use 400W without any problems? I don't want destroy my hardware but I'd rather not buy an additional piece of hardware if this can work for a while.
I hate to be so cheap but I'd really like to avoid spending another $90 this month if I can get away with it. Otherwise, I'll keep on waiting...
Thanks guys!
It'd probably burn out soonish if you're running the card at 100% 24/7. he forgets to mention that if its not a good PSU, itl take the rest of the hardware (mobo, CPU, GPU, RAM) with it you can skimp on anything, except PSU imo

hmm, so i havent had a reply yet from all the companies, is this common?
edit: i've received an e-mail from shopto saying that they might consider it. the e-mail got stuck in my junk box so i didnt see it right away also, ive sent an inquiry to the game lord of ultima, part of EA, don't think a huge company like that would accept them on a large scale right away, but who knows what happens if a smaller part of them accepts them... snowball effect ftw

Thats what i thought that its others that dont like the difficulty going up. but am i right if the difficulty goes up so does the value?
I can't imagine any reason why that would be. BitCoins are still created at the same rate. true, but then theyr generated at others (ie theyr own) pools, so more profit for them most pools handle a fee of at least 1% or so, so the more people hash with them, the more money they get from it ofcourse blocking one pool doesnt mean that all the users go to your pool, but at least a portion of it will
