ThemePen - Merit Source Application

Hey admin and prestigious members of the forum,

I am ThemePen and I am a member of Bitcointalk since April 26, 2022. I am applying to become a merit source for our community.

Hmm, First of all, good wishes to everyone, As for this application, I will openly support themepen even though there are several reasons but the point is he's one of the most active members in the community with consistency, There's only one merit source only for our local thread as we still don't have our own board which is disappointing because monthly posts are 500+ and active members as well are ranging between 34 to 40 on average and we are actively working on the improvement such as Post quality and stats compilation to give an overview every moth still there's no action on our request, anyway, we can hope only get our local board soon because there many local boards with much lower activity.

The current topic is merit source, Shahzadafzal is our active merit source only but he's quite busy with his own work as well, still, he manages time to distribute merits twice a month on average or whenever he gets active on the forum, but community need additional merit source at least there should be 3 merits source but as our moderator also contributes in a meeting on the good posts, so with if themepen gets merit source status surely it will be a good development and maybe theymos can also think about our own local board.

Good luck bro___
123  Economy / Speculation / Re: LAST CHANCE TO BUY BITCOIN..... on: May 08, 2024, 10:47:38 PM
Hmm, Buy the dips is the good strategy if you have good capital, but rushing in for the sake of instant profits, ah not a good deal bro, yup its the time to grab as much as we can but don't panic, after every resistance breakout we get the entry time it can very from few hours to few days as we've seen a couple of days ago because the support level wasn't enough strong to pull back and the market was also moving sides anyway now a healthy correction is already done I'm expecting a good rally from here still rushing is not good bro, hold maximum if you already have buy slowly if you dont.
124  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fraudulent e mail on: May 08, 2024, 07:56:58 PM
Hello this is my 1st post here. I am fairly new to BTC and have dabbled a little and have an account with Coinbase. I made a small amount of profit and it is held in cash in my coinbase account ATM. This morning I received an e mail from Coinbase telling me I had to immediately move it into an online wallet and gave a link. It all looked v legit until I looked at the e mail address - events@byhealthmeans.com needless to say I won't be transferring the funds but has anyone else had such an e mail from this address before? It was far more professional than other phishing e mails I have had.

Phishing attacks are not rare in the crypto market, especially when activity is involved with social media and crypto activities from the same sources, such as if you are following some news channels and some crypto influencers such as email are behind you. TBH when we carefully look at their strategies they play with the phycology even trapping the experienced crypto user over time.

For phishing emails I don't care much when it comes to phishing sites it is a big concern and a couple of times I just got trapped by phishing sites, because I've been actively hunting for some airdrops for a couple of months these people design same UI and trap user using their SEO optimization because mostly we click the link then check whether we are on spot or not without verifying the authentic domain, I almost got trapped 2 times in last month one was when I was claiming my airdrop tokens and secondly when in emergency tasks I didn't check the domain address and thanks god before connecting somehow my eye caught the invalid link format and I came back to my sense that its a trap, even though for security reasons in airdrop hunting I'm using different wallets still sometimes due to important airdrop we do connect our main wallet as well so I would suggest being very careful.

126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF good or bad? on: May 08, 2024, 07:35:58 PM
Hmm, in a few words good for holders, and bad for those who missed the early buying opportunity, TBH I'm not a big fan of ETF but if they are generating good volume and people are getting familiar with Bitcoin in traditional way why not at the end of day its good for whole community there a few concerns but yup nothing can be perfect there will be falws in the system always we cant setisfy every requirement with desired results.

As far as I am able to buy Bitcoins freely wthut any restrictions and as far as I can keep my accumulation private there is nothing to do with other -ve developments because community is strong enough to go through any circumstances so even if they removes this ETF system I don't care.
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust bitcoin holders? on: May 08, 2024, 06:03:28 PM
Since bitcoin promotes mostly anti-government, banks, etc.

I am wondering; Do you trust bitcoin holders?

What, kind of words and narratives these are bro, when Bitcoin promoted anti-government policy haha seems like you are naming the decentralization as the anti-government policy, I want to remind you that Bitcoin is just a payment system, these days now you can say a digital asset (Digital Gold), Bitcoin promotes the decentralization and self-custody of the funds with ensured privacy, security, and transparency of the transaction haha these are not Ai generated words, these are my emotions haha this the first time I've made a perfect chin of these words.

In the second half, I want to let you know why I should trust Bitcoin holders rather than trusting them I trust the Bitcoin community if the old holders are willing to sell then new buyers are in the queue, So I trust the Bitcoin community and reliability.
128  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bots... do they work? on: May 08, 2024, 05:01:36 PM
Looking to get some real-world feedback on trading bots, the pros, the cons and the most important question... do they work?

So please, only comment below if you're actively using trading bots and how successful they are.

Hmm not actively relying on the trading bots, as Bot's more helpful in the consolidating market (Personal Observation), Still I can give some of my experience points, Bots works but you need to always know that bots are bots haha, Bots work well but it also depends what type of customizations are available in your bots and how you've customized them, from customization I mean adding margin, accumulation levels, and profit levels.

Keep in mind there's nothing called 100% winning in the trading market I've carried losing trade-in bot for over 4 months so you can say if the market wants to test you not even bots can save you.
129  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can I get into trading on: May 08, 2024, 04:53:47 PM
Good day guys!
As someone who’s new to this space and wants to start trading, what are the steps I can take to start and how much of fund do I need to start?.
What wallet is best for me? Can I use meta trader?

Hmm, Op first of all you need to practice the discipline, then put some time into understanding market psychology and price action, after that arrange the amount from which you can take trades, in the learning time you can practice your trade with the demo funds, offered many platforms.

Make sure to learn common terminologies of trading so using those terminologies it will be easy for you to ask for help from seniors because each terminology explains a story behind it haha, just kidding it can just help you understand the suggestions given by seniors because we often use these terminologies, ask more questions so you can clarify your doubts.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get your Dad (or Mom) to buy Bitcoin? on: May 07, 2024, 09:22:13 PM
Ahhh... I'm feeling sick and dezzyyyy what big stuff OP you've compiled is it your own summary about Bitcoin or just AI-generated content anyway appreciate if you did it by yourself, At the same time here are a few minor suggestions use Glow, and colors, Bold and custom size to make it better in the presentation because like this no one is gonna read it, as I haven't because I cant look for everyone read repeated content add some headings so we can scan through the page and get the desired piece of information which is only possible with the proper formatting and presentation in which you've scored 1/10 in this thread.

Make sure to follow the basics, such as Glow, Colored heading, and Custom sizes for text according to the need.

132  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: In order to reach your target, don't rush! on: May 07, 2024, 08:26:37 PM
Rushing is one of the reasons people lose in trading. They want to rush in money making.

Hmm, rushing is not bad in my view, why? because you know sometimes people just keep pushing themselves in the thinking trauma and they don't put effort to grab the opportunity, TBH Rushing is necessary to obtain the desired results, i.e people who rushed in buying the great dips of last week made good short term profits and made good long term positions.

Haha I don't want to oppose everyone's views but people just start making recurrent posts if OP and someone else below OP agrees on Op's views, The rest of the people change words and start making the same comments, my target is this post is to mention that rushing can be good as well, just don't rush behind shit signals in greed.
133  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do to get merit reward? on: May 07, 2024, 08:15:23 PM
Hello everyone, I have been here for a few weeks/months now but I'm yet to receive "merit" so I'm just worried, please can someone tell me what I will need to do or how long I will need to be here for before I get merit and other rewards?

Hmm just participate in the natural discussion take part in debates, and mention your thoughts someone will oppose and someone will appreciate, and in appreciate you'll get the merit rewards, TBH if you post something good merit sources notice it and instantly merit those posts, TBH in my entire journey I've got merits on even those post from where I wasn't expecting such as I've trolled someone and a merit source checked it and my troll was making sense he merited me.

IF you do participate in the discussion of your thread I can guarantee you that there will be no need for creating such a thread.

135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Browsing Old Bitcoin Forums Blows My Mind on: May 07, 2024, 07:58:48 PM
If I held my bitcoin that long I would probably have taken it out at some time to claim some of my profits just to put some back in again.

Hmm so what do you think about your own decision, would it be the right choice or should you have continued to accumulate I'm just asking to know your mindset as to whether you are following the legacy of Bitcoiners or traders. Haha Why I'm interested because I want to create a reference for my own words let's see if my words stand correct or not hehe I'm really interested in doing it a thread can help me more efficiently but that requires decent time which is currently unavilable.
136  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Share your Crypto experience. on: May 06, 2024, 04:31:16 PM
I have now been investing in Crypto for 10 months and its been a test of patience thats for sure, feel like I have entered in a bad year with lots going on causing these bad times and low prices we are currently seeing.

My portfolio is currently 36% down And feel I have no choice but to hold till the next bull run which is hopefully only 12-18 months away. I will continue to DCA but in recent weeks I have slowed down having gone from investing every week to every 2 weeks as the prices just keep falling.

I am just wondering if those who have been involved with crypto for a few years at least could share their experience and offer any advice for those new like myself?

Thanks

Haha, no bro even 10 months back was a good entry time and you've entered in good zone of the market and are still desperate why? haha just think about those who entered in the last Bull rally and took the entire bear zone pressure all these years still they are inn big loss but waiting patiently you should learn to control your emotions in the market because its one of the most important things.

Market always test the weak hands and mostly weak hands lose, it was a good accumulation time in last week.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc purchases on: May 06, 2024, 04:26:11 PM
Im not able to purchase BTC due to me not having the qualifications needed to buy btc,so does anyone know how to buy btc without having to show proof of identity

Hmm, First of all, a very casual question bro are you a native Englishmen, bro what kind of qualifications you are talking about to buy Bitcoin all you need is fiat money and a source to buy, and that source can be a decentralized exchange or a P2P trade, etc. The next point without having the proof of identity seems like you are a teen student as you don't have proof of identity but you still have and don't want to show you recognize one of the important things in the cryptomarket nad that is your identity and privacy. So if you don't want to show proof of identity and still want to buy Bitcoin best way is to buy with DEX and if you don't want to use dex you can reach KYC-free centralized exchanges. Even you can use this forum for your transection but be aware of scammers.

Just post a thread in the Service section many people can help you out.
138  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: May 06, 2024, 08:05:04 AM
That sounds like a trader speaking, and we should not presume that people who buy bitcoin are traders.

There are a lot of us why specifically recommend not to trade bitcoin, but instead to long term invest it, so in that sense, you do not have to focus much on selling it or when you sell it, until after you have accumulated enough and perhaps been in it for a long enough time.. so then the decisions about when and how to sell could well come later, even 10, 20 or 30 years after being in it...

Yet, of course, it would be difficult to suggest that anyone buying bitcoin for 10, 20 or 30 years not think about selling at all, since the selling kinds of considerations would likely have to do with the person's situation in terms of how aggressively or whimpily he might have been accumulating BTC in light of his own financial and/or psychological circumstances.

Hmm, JJG I was expecting haha if you are active I'll get this reply, anyway, it has been a long time since you've made a quote on my post, cutting the story to a focus point, yup my response was from a trader's perspective as I do acknowledge that 70% of newbies and investors enter as a short term trader they don't care about the Bitcoin's potential and returns in even a time frame of 5 years to 10 years. We can roughly find 5 out of 100 people who are serious about the long-term accumulation as you are saying, for the rest of 95 they are just trying their luck without even realizing the facts and figures.

I have not yet seen anything about 47k BTC being accumulated, but yeah, surely in these times, it is may well be easier to NOT to be surprised various kinds of ongoing buying pressures.

Well I can add the reference but I know it's not worth it, any still here the references I've not gone through the entire blog just scanned it with the headline “Bitcoin whales accumulated 47,000 $BTC in the past 24 hours. We’re entering a new era.”
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulations Not Working as Planned?? on: May 05, 2024, 10:31:05 PM
Regulations Not Working?
Do you think it is true, that right now with the governments, banks “powers that be” in attempt to Gain control of BTC and other cryptos.
They are trying to put into regulations etc. Yet there are troubles to making the cryptos as “securities”
With all the lawsuits “they “ try to put onto the crypto companies. Has not worked in the “favour” of the powers that be?
Is this true?
Does this prove that the blockchain tech is a success?

That BTC could work as a money system for the people and help people to devalue FIAT currency?

HMM, OP these are so many concerns which are been already discussed in different views, but still, I think the potential limit is still unknown and we haven't tested the boundaries, there are many good things with Bitcoin and crypto but (when it comes getting into it) in Bitcoin/Crypto with same narrative is tough because its human nature that many agree and many disagree.

Regulations were never the obstacle for the success of Bitcoin until or unless "they" decide to plan strict action on the community because everything is decentralized and in the P2P  system so how a government can be an obstacle, point is they realize that we cant control it this way but we can allow them to use under our control named as ETF. I don't know either what shit I'm typing its 4 AM and I'm making a post after working 6 hours consistently on code, and now after readings OP's post I thought why not put rough thoughts on it. Anyway, I'll look for an edit if required but tomorrow.

_Good Night ahhhhhh
