Zero?

Measure it on another Gridseed if you have one.
Or, if anyone is working on a pod right now maybe they'll measure it and let you know for sure.

No date but Zeus has indicated that it would be shortly after shipping.  Zeus also mentioned there could be a few firmware updates as they work on it.
We'll know soon enough. I'm anticipating better than advertised hash rates just from pushing the frequency a bit.  Fingers crossed.  It's also luck of the draw - I have two unmodified Gridseeds from GAW that are fast  940MHz and 945MHz. Others not so fast like 870MHz.  They all do way better than advertised though.

That is during autotune so they got pushed past what they could do before backing down and settling in at those clock speeds.

I don't know if they are exactly the same as Zeus or not but I got an email from GAWMiners saying that they will be releasing a firmware upgrade that could increase hash speed by maybe 10 to 15%.

GAW's doing a good job.  I'm pretty confident that they'll work to resolve any issues that might arise.  Confident enough that I've paid with Bitcoin the last two orders.  I got into Scrypt ASICs a little too early so my $$ spent per mhash is high but has dropped by half as I average down with new equipment from GAW.  Judging by the date & time on emails support looks to be working 24/7.  I've bought from 3 vendors before GAW and now have and received three deliveries from GAW and am anticipating another with the pre-order I placed yesterday.

Next for me needs to be a bigger miner from GAW as I don't want to use up all the space I have left with small miners.

Just ordered a Fury - it's going to interesting to see how these run.  Can't wait to get it!

Yes, I can see rust on mine, missing screws and odd mismatched replacement screws.   These were run in a very corrosive environment.
This isn't just about dusty pods volder it's about trust.  Do you trust the company to not sell used equipment as new and if a mistake happened will they make it right with even a small gesture of goodwill.
Yes, trust if very important. I trust that Josh will address this issue and take care of every customer involved. He has a proven track record of doing so. Mistake or not, he will take care of you. I know he will. He did mention that he was away for a few days, so just give him a little time.

This is correct, we will always do the right thing. As we have proven.

Unfortunately, this is how Gridseed is sending these to us (never stops with these guys). And we are just learning about this. Normally, stock comes in, gets relabeled and goes back out.

Anyways, please email me directly at: josh@gawminers.com if you have not been taken care of. I will personally see to it that you are happy with the outcome.

I'll take you up on your offer of help Josh - thanks for wanting to get involved.  I sent you an email late last night.  Just credit what you think is fair compensation for receiving used miners when expecting new miners and that will resolve the issue for me.  The support request is # 10134.  I have a store credit on my account for the Generation A pre-order price drop but that has nothing to do with receiving used Gridseeds issue.

In my last order of 3 5-chip Gridseeds I had 2 rusty ones as well, they all worked but obviously they are not 'like new', however I contacted GAW and they compensated me fairly for it without any argument. ----------------------

----------------------- GAW reacted very surprised and told me they never sell used stuff, but nevertheless they were more then willing to rectify it.
Finally they gave me more compensation than I expected, so I'm still a very happy GAW customer.
But I have to agree that they should list used stuff as being used.

I clipped a bit of the quotes for space. So GAW is aware and are willing to offer some compensation.

I guess the support person I dealt with didn't get the memo even though I sent photos and now we have two pages of discussion.

I'll try again.

I expect there will be more used miners for sale because of buy-backs and upgrades etc.   They have to list the used stuff as used.  You can't pass used stuff as new else you'll get into trouble.

I'd like to know the origin of these used gridseeds though.  If they came out of GAW's own hosting center then I don't want any used equipment that comes from such a corrosive and dirty environment.  I wouldn't want any equipment to be hosted in such an environment either.

I contacted support about the used Gridseeds I received from GAW and they seem completely caught by surprise about this.  3 out of the last 4 Gridseeds I received are used.

Support (request # 10134 with photos) told me that they buy all of their Gridseeds directly from Gridseed and they don't sell used Gridseeds.  Somehow used Gridseeds got introduced in the supply chain because there is no doubt that these are used.  One was so dirty that I got dirt on my hands from just handling it.

Will you give a $10 store credit per used Gridseed to the customers that got used equipment instead of the expected new equipment?

Also, will you be selling used equipment going forward as hosting customers upgrade to new equipment?

The PayPal problem somehow only affected pre-orders because GAW doesn't take two weeks to ship in stock products so there is no way they'd be refunding two weeks of shipped orders.

I'm thinking that I will initiate the PayPal refund myself today just to get it over with.  It is taking too long and support has not been able to confirm if my order is affected or not.

Hi guys,

how do you do you failover system in cpuminer?

Sandors cpuminer has failover if you use a .json config file.

Gotta Ask.
Has anyone that purchased through paypal, actually gotten their refund? I don't know which end is having the problem, but with close to 4k for my order starting to get a little concerned. Not to mention missing the opportunity to reorder week one.

No PayPal refund for me yet.
Last email said it would be today but maybe GAW can post a status update re: the PayPal refunds.

Also,

I was just informed that we have the ability to auto credit each person. So there is NOT a need to send in a ticket, we will automatically credit you the difference. This will be done in the next 48 hours.

No price drop credit received here either.

I'm sure it is all being worked on but it would be nice to get these two things resolved.

134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: May 16, 2014, 11:10:45 AM
toxicOn - that one looks like the red fan wire got pinched on the edge of the heatsink and caused a short.
You can see that the thermal pad did not make contact with the gridseed chips on the side where the missing red fan wire should be as if the red wire was caught under the edge. And you can see the burn mark on that edge.

You may be able to replace the other burnt parts and get it working, I don't know.  The pods have dropped in price so much that you might be better off just replacing it.

I have one pod where the center chip ended up burning up (because of a short) and it continues to hash away (center chip removed) on two chips at 1200MHz, 200+ kh/s.  Be cautious though, not worth starting a fire.   At first mine worked but the amps were way to high for me to leave it unattended.  It's around 10 watts on 2 chips at 1200MHz now so I feel better about it.

If you are not 100% confident in it don't risk causing a fire.  In the photo, it looks to me like there may be other shorts along the path of the missing red wire.

136  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners- THE WAR MACHINE 54MH Miner!! on: May 14, 2014, 12:04:41 AM
Using PayPal is important to me as a buyer.  Some sellers don't like it and make excuses for not having it but if they meet their commitments then there's no issue.  If they don't ship when promised or you get broken goods then it is PayPal that saves your butt IF the seller ignores you.  3 orders from GAW and there wouldn't have been 1 if they didn't take PayPal so hopefully it is back soon.

I just got my first gridseed yesterday, and so far I'm loving it.  I do have a question though...is it possible to dual mine (yeah, I know) on Windows with something other than the cpuminer and cgminer combo?

No other way that I know of.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: May 13, 2014, 07:52:12 PM
Another pool I'm on shows a 12 hr hash rate.  Do you know what the pools you're using show? 12 hr, 24 hr or something else?  Just trying to eliminate some things here.  Running 12 hrs on a pools that shows 24hr hashrate would probably show about half what you expect.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: May 13, 2014, 07:21:27 PM
dyland - how long do you let them run before changing settings?
I don't use a  hashra controlla.  One pool I'm on shows 24 hr hashrate.  If I look at it after 6 hours the hash rate will be low.  After 24 hrs it is what I expect to see.

Another way to check would be the amount of coins mined per 24 hrs.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed 5-Chip USB & Blade Miner Support/Tuning on: May 13, 2014, 12:53:41 AM
HELP GUYS

just got my blade. downloaded cgminer - http://cryptomining-blog.com/1990-updated-cgminer-3-7-2-with-support-for-gridseed-5-chip-and-80-chip-gc3355-asics/

yet when i run it.. it sees just 1 blade. both blades work but it will see just 1.
how do i make it run 2 blades? Sad

runnign it:
cgminer –scrypt –gridseed-options=baud=115200,freq=800,chips=40 –hotplug=0 -o stratum+tcp://eu.multipool.us:7777 -u XXXX -p x

Just a guess: your blade is 80 chips but you've specified 40 chips in the cgminer command line. Have you tried setting it to 80 chips?
