121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: June 13, 2014, 02:00:43 PM
Soon it will be able to compete with BTC im pretty sure.
We’re at a large and challenging market of crypto currencies. It would be silly to expect one of the currencies to capture the whole market, like in Marxist imperialistic monopolism and force the rest out. I believe, several players will remain, each acting in its own niche, if they survive, of course. These small petty quarrels at the very beginning look rather funny. What we should do is work on the currency of our choice to make it useful for the community, not to press charges, real or fake, against opponents.
Call Satoshi Hakamoto, because you need somebody to explain you everything what you talking about -_-

I was at Bitcoin London Conf in 2012 and went to have a beer with friends to the nearest pub last evening. I met a guy there (don't remember his name. something like Jeff or John, maybe).
He told me about ring signatures and mentioned something about CryptoNote. I felt interested and tried to ask him for more details. He was with a company too(10 or 12 people meetup) so our conversation was rather short. We chatted a bit and he gave me a card with .onion website address. He said it would be a currency of the future and I had to mine it.
Your BCT account looks suspiciously like one of the ones that was sold after the bct hacks last year.

Do you have the onion address you were given? Do you still have the bytecoin wallet?

----

We all know there is a lot of secrecy around ByteCoin and that it was a project by respected cyberpunks and academics all around the world. The code on github and philosophy around the project says enough.. Why you want proof with a onion address?? Dont you believe more people where involved instead of a small team..

One example is the extra nonce and all the messages included, did someone fake all that data? I dont know but its pretty clear to me that the project was created as a framework for the future. Another example about the quality; the timestamp of the genesis block.

ps. one extra nonce i did not find in the excell sheet, the one as solution from a puzzle.

My 2 mBTC

Despite bcn surfaced only in march,2014  and all these secrecy around devs a lot of people see potential in it and continue mining it, however, there are bcn forks already.

Futhermore, I think its gonna get new miners as soon as there'd be added new applications.

the exchange has shut down? man, that's awful

I've left some coins there  Sad
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: June 04, 2014, 06:35:20 PM
LOL. With current price dump is not possible. Price officially hit the bottom. Grin

good time to buy some. and that's what I do! Cool

+1

That's what I am doing - buying coins as I am sure after this improvement there won't be fud and a lot of words about ''pre-mining''

I just wish I was the member of one of that teams. Grin

Is there only Poloniex exchange to trade BCN?? it's indeed so slow... Sometimes it doesn't allow me to get to my account  Embarrassed
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 31, 2014, 05:02:38 PM
Why the price is so low ? only 5 Satoshi - that's too little price for BCN.

Hope devs would add some features to make it cooler.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 27, 2014, 05:09:30 PM
According to Poloniex prices of all cryptonight coins has dropped.

Interesting but the price of BCN MRO and QCN has the same trend to go up or down at the same time  but diff volatility
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 25, 2014, 10:53:12 PM
With the network  hash rate  118Kh/s it's better to mine in pool (minergate h\r is 171 Kh/s)

What do you think? I mean there is a lit diff but still....

I mine in pool but have some problems with finding blocks and it takes time to wait till it's ok
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 24, 2014, 06:08:57 PM
Hello, also has a problem with daemon. My deamon says sync data returned unknown top block? In yellow letters?

Is that mean it's not synced with the latest block yet? What should I do except waiting? It's a lit bit annoying not to know what's happening.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 24, 2014, 08:16:48 AM
excuse me for a silly question but am I right I can mine from multiple computers to the same account?

131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 23, 2014, 07:51:52 AM
BCN frozen on Poloniex; any idea why?

Edit: fixed now.

Am...Dude, I just look there and it's not 'frozen'.
It's 1 BCN for 0,000 000 14 BTC
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 21, 2014, 09:24:45 PM
Who have tried MM BCN + FCN ? Is it profitable?
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 20, 2014, 07:40:08 PM
I am fond of new web site design but its a kinda unusual to get everything there.

I think I used to work with old one. Really miss it

As far as I can remember somewhere in this thread there was a link for the old website. Try to search for it.  Wink

https://bytecoin.org/old/index.html

I prefer new design as it's fresh and without music
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BCN] Logo contest. Huge reward! on: May 10, 2014, 07:40:14 PM
My new version:

Thank you!
Can you add colors, pls?

I like it even in B&W style.
Not sure if adding color is needed here. IMO, it's pretty good.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 10, 2014, 07:34:34 PM
TFT: "I'm working on another good feature now, so stay tuned. "

Looks like soon BitMonero will no doubt another coin with great upgrades made by the dev. SO, MRO and BMR are two diff coins with two diff future. IMO, MRO may have a bright future in case devs would suggest new ideas. Now it looks like TFT has much more to suggest
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BMR] Bitmonero - a new coin based on CryptoNote technology - LAUNCHED on: May 10, 2014, 07:21:56 PM
Hello!

We've launched a new website - bitmonero.org

Please feel free to visit it. Smiley

Web site look pretty good. Good you've made the same .org address as Bytecoin has.
btw, nice to see the link to reddit.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 08, 2014, 07:35:29 PM
is it the reason that I have not found a block in the last week because

1. the hash rate is so high
2. the blockchain attack that has occured (conspiracy theory -- tft and friends)
3. both 1 and 2

another question:
1. is cryptonote  cicada 3301 with an ultra optimized miner
2. bytecoin user and satoshi are one and the same.

should we hold off mining until we get the right blockchain. thank you

R u really ready not to mine till someone will tell you to start mining again?
What if blockchain attack has a goal to scare users and while we would wait someone would mine a lot for him. And who you think must tell you when to finish and restart mining?
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FCN] FantomCoin. CN-based currency with merged mining. LAUNCHED NOW! on: May 08, 2014, 07:14:21 PM
Wanted to add: tested FantomCoin on my old macbook air (mid 2012) with 10.8 OSX version on it - worked like a charm as well.

Which is actually awkward since Bitmonero’s version did not work. So, I guess we got ourselves first <OSX10.9 miner?

Glad for you. Unfortunately for me, I was far from PC these days and have missed official launch.
Happy to find here mac version too and so soon after launching unlike BCN and MRO.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FCN] FantomCoin. CN-based currency with MM. Starts today in 10 minutes on: May 06, 2014, 06:09:57 PM
I am so excited, want to download it asap. Smiley

I like your choice of curve emission - 22 is the best option as it is stable and, furthermore, is familiar to our community cause it's close to Bitcoin's curve.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures - CPU only on: May 05, 2014, 12:30:49 PM
Have mined for 24 hours almost and haven't found a block Sad
I was thinking that icore 7 is enough to mine some Monero coins now in a day.
