121  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-02] Can Bitcoin Deliver on its Promise to the World’s Unbanked? on: August 03, 2014, 04:24:02 AM
I don't think any payment process can exist without banks' participation. even if you transact between mobile phones, at some point you need to use the bank to get physical cash for your bitcoin.

The thing we have to know here is: what is this "physical cash" that you're talking about? If you mean paper fiat money, then you are right: you will need a banker...

But BTC is cash. That's what it's all about: no need of bankers, no need of fiat.

Maybe, nowadays, your brick and mortar merchant won't accept BTC, but it's only the beginning. When those poor unbanked people finally start using BTC, ideally it will already be well spread in use as the currency that it is.

btcflow.net is no longer working properly: no BTC is accumulated to the user's balance.

Does anyone know who is its admin?

Australian government is run by idiot if this ruling is true.

Well, actually, being idiot is a very common quality in any government, anyway Wink

People unite in love with or without marriage, but people also unite in marriage without love... and that's not a good thing!

Sexual fetishes, as long as that doesn't include rape or unwilling participants, are none of any government business to be legalized or otherwise.

Very true. As I have said before:

No State should be allowed to try to impose any moral belief system on a people. It is not the function of the Penal Law to pass moral judgements.

Quote
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law#Criminal_law)
Criminal law, also known as penal law, pertains to crimes and punishment. It thus regulates the definition of and penalties for offences found to have a sufficiently deleterious social impact but, in itself, makes no moral judgment on an offender nor imposes restrictions on society that physically prevent people from committing a crime in the first place.
126  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Australian judge says incest may no longer be a taboo on: July 24, 2014, 05:27:06 PM
Well I find it the natural follow up to the legalization of same sex marriage in many countries...., what's next Bestiality ? ....

I found "marriage" absurd on all its extent. Marriage is nothing but a dark age attempt to force someone to stay with someone else.
It's also the bureaucratic hypocrites best thing! Take Muslims for an instance, they're mostly adulterers with strong anti-adultery laws. What would be just funny if they won't sentence anybody (women mostly) to death over that hypocrite non-sense.

I haven't got married, and I have no intention to. It just doesn't fit to my personality - I am a lonely wolf. But marriage is not a bad idea, in my opinion, because it unites people with love (and love is always good). A family is a very important institution in any society. It doesn't have to be the strict conservative family: any kind of family (notice how the concept of family changes a lot from one society to the other, and all are valid). The family union makes each of its individuals stronger.

The political propaganda (marxist) is trying to ignore the individual freedoms, putting a wrong focus on the "group minorities". That's really dangerous. They are dividing us all in order to be easier the conquest.

Quote
The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.
Ayn Rand

A strong family union is a great foundation to the resistance against the government abuses. The greatest dream of the statism is a society without families.

Incest killed the ancient Egypt, Rome and all civilizations that let it happen. Or the sign they are about to be destroyed was the incest.

I have no doubt where it will end.

LOL! That had nothing to do with nothing. If that would be true then Islam would be long gone.
Civilization fell out of wars, climate changes, catastrophes, plagues and so on, not sex.

[sarcasm]well, remember, my friend, that sex is evil and that war is good![/sarcasm]

As long as the exchange makes enough profits with these new fees to be financially healthy and does not need to run away with my coins, cheaper services are always welcome.

More efficient services always come from a good competition.
130  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Malaysia Airlines MH17 Crash: Boeing 777 Crashed in Ukraine Near Russian Border on: July 24, 2014, 07:43:32 AM
I'd like to quote this post here, because I found it very good. Especially the video he indicates:

So you think the people that have control of the geopolitical agendas today have it by accident and not because they wanted it ?

What an idiotic proposal.

You think they don't know how to manipulate the media and the population ?

You think that so called "psy-ops" don't happen because secret services are run by clowns and not by people with a lifetime experience in doing just that ?

Sure - they f*ck up all the time - it's just that it doesn't matter because there's always a band of willing zombies ready to promote their agenda for then and convince everybody that things are "just a co-incidence, nothing to see here".

After the last MH "disappearance" there was a chorus of commentators expressing the view that this aircraft would turn up in a terrorist attack in a few months - not least this guy, the former political secretary to an ex Malaysian prime minister.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmpL2il3cdE

So here we are - a few months later and a Malaysian Airways 777 HAS indeed turned up in a terrorist attack. Who knows whether it's the same one or another one or whether there's a link or not, whether it was the *real* russian rebels or fake Ukranian-sponsored Russian rebels that shot it down or what the f*ck happened.

But given that the worlds airline fleet numbers about 20,000 planes and only 13 of them are Malaysian Airways 777's then that leaves a probability of about 1 in 1500 that the above mentioned "conspiracy theorists" would be right which means that statistically,

YES. THERE IS SOMETHING TO SEE HERE

And even if there isn't, it's about time some people started to wake up and smell the coffee that what they read in the news is the "for public consumption" version of things and to stop being so dismissive of suggestions that a more plausible one might exist.

Your post is perfect, as always. Thank you.

Not that much different than US.

Take a world map and see the result of capitalism and the result of socialism. And what the fuck a no free marketer do in a bitcoin forum ? What the fucking hipster have find to socialist wash bitcoin ?

Is there any logic in such boasting? lol It is funny how some naive people still seem to ignore that the US government is not a model of perfect moral superiority. I am sorry to say that, but the Founding Fathers of the United States would be disappointed if they could come back to see what a monster has developed from all the corruption.

The American people do not deserve the shameful greed, terror and lies that we all have been witnessing from the politicians at that country.
132  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Common Law and Bitcoin on: July 23, 2014, 06:13:56 AM
(...)
If bitcoin started using common law type contracts would we not start changing legislation without legislators base on court cases? I'm pretty sure in common law the common people render a decision and the judge is merely a mediator.

Anyone know much about it? I'm going to study it further.

I did not understand well your question. What do you mean with "common law type contracts"?
133  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Which game you would like to play for bitcoins? on: July 22, 2014, 03:27:46 AM
Poker would be nice, but if you want something simpler, maybe a noughts and crosses game, for example, would be quite good.

134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin de-Anonymity on: July 22, 2014, 02:56:10 AM
use Darkcoin, it has built in anonymity

you can still use BTC for store of value, then buy Darkcoin for critical transactions on demand
NO! Don't use Darkcoin! Use Bytecoin or Monero!

Darkcoin was just bashed because the "anonymity" nodes were being hosted on Amazon servers, which are monitored by the government, so they can see everything that was going on.

Bytecoin/Monero are better because they are harder to track, so don't use Darkcoin as transactions, unless you don't care if people see them.

So Bitcoin as a store of value, and BYC/XMR for critical and anonymous transactions.

Bytecoin/Monero = BlockChain Bloat and will never see the light of day as a usable currency...

DarkCoin MasterNodes are spread all around the world and Proof of Service is just the beginning for these nodes...
All alts are way less secure then bitcoin is. If you want to deal in any serious amount of money then you must use bitcoin otherwise you will be risking your TX being reversed from an attack on the blockchain of the altcoin

Is it really possible, with ANY altcoin... I doubt...
It is very possible to attack any altcoin blockchain, just as it is possible to attack the bitcoin blockchain.

The higher the hashrate of the network of the specific coin the more expensive it is to launch an attack on the blockchain. With most alts having a small hashrate, it is not difficult to attack most alts.

Sure, with this I agree. No doubt of what you have said here, Harley997, as well as what Yakamoto also said. But I could not agree with cutepuppy's radical statement that "All alts are way less secure then bitcoin is. If you want to deal in any serious amount of money then you must use bitcoin otherwise you will be risking your TX being reversed from an attack on the blockchain of the altcoin".

In fact, I believe that there are some (maybe a few, who knows) altcoins that are safe.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Anonymity so important to you? on: July 21, 2014, 04:35:09 AM
I have nothing to hide frankly

Only reason you have nothing to hide is because you have a poor imagination.

My AliceWonder username - I sometimes post pictures of snakes with my real name on it.
I don't care, it's just an internet handle.

Today someone on reddit I've never met before didn't like something I said (imagine that! LOL) and said they did a background search on me, revealing my real name.

I don't give a sh*t but it is freaky that some background database has compiled that about me.

Maybe they got it from snake pics or more likely a domain registration - but even though I don't really care to keep who I am secret, it's still freaky that a publicly accessible database somewhere has it.

Oh, and I am thinking about exercising my second amendment rights and buying a gun. This guy seemed to think I am a transvestite (nope) and seemed to hate them, and well, that group has a lot of senseless violence committed against it by freaky people. So...

Yes, we all are too much vulnerable with all this online indiscriminate (mandatory) exposure which allows anyone to acquire our private info, gaining the ability to misuse it and cause us harms.
136  Economy / Economics / Re: Solution to poverty - Socialism or Capitalism? on: July 21, 2014, 03:42:02 AM
Hey everyone. In today's developed world where we have glasses that can access the internet and robots that can think on their own, it is a shame that there are still people in parts of the world living under 1$ a day.
What can governments do to end poverty in their countries? Is a solution possible under capitalism? Or did Karl Marx had the right idea with his recommendation of a socialist government?

Less State means less incompetence, less corruption, less problems. Governments do more bad than good after all, and should only have restricted powers, limited to the minimum necessary.

Socialism/Statism will only make poverty worse. Poverty will be solved the moment people start giving importance and value to work. Many people prefer not to work, but only to receive free benefits form their governments, acting like spoiled adolescents. It is the statism that keeps people from developing, they want us to be eternal dependents and treat us as if we were stupid.

Any address can be tracked easily. But the owner of address is anonymous. At some extent it is still anonymous. We can generate as many addresses as we can to receive BTC instantly with no one knowing the owner.

Yes, as long as your address(es) is(are) not revealed you are "anonymous". You could still be tracked (IP, exchanges, etc) but it would demand some effort.

Getting court order to subpoena exchange can be done fairly easy with patriot act.

Yes, but in this case, unfortunately, the State has got enormous power, and no limits or scruples, so they will do their dirty things, and end up "catching" anyone they want, anyway :/

140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which crypto currencies have a built in mining feature in the wallet? on: July 21, 2014, 03:14:53 AM

Thanks for the reply! What coins would you suggest I mine with 2 medium end gaming computers?

Personally, I only mine in order to help the network, and not for profit. In your case I imagine that someone else could help you better. AFAIK it is not easy to have profits mining: you must always follow the altcoins announcements and choose the most profitable ones (the newly launched, I suppose).

Also, you could try a mining pool (http://www.xpool.ca for example - in this case, for Darkcoin).

Nice mining, nice profits.
